Plot: We have found something...
Scientists from all regions have been working on a project, named Operation Antimatter
Apparently a satellite picked up strange signals, rays that have not been identified...until now. They have been classified as "Rip Rays", strong waves that give off rips in time and space. The satellite picked them up, deep beneath the Earth...
So we dug. We dug for 5 years, and we have found it. A portal to another realm. They thought that warp and teleportation was all fairy tales and make-belief. Oh, how wrong they were. They sent 5 Scientists in to see what was on the other side. On the other side, we waited.
We waited for a long time. We waited and gave up, until one came back. He was completely insane. He had no clothes, no supplies, no Pokemon, just a bag. The bag was filled with delusional drawings of magnificent beasts and deadly creatures. There were 100's of drawings. Most of them were the same thing, so scientists guessed. They guessed that there were 10...things...on the other side. Who knew their guess would be right?
A tournament is to be held. 10 Trainers will face the best that the world has offer. Those 10 trainers will defeat the Elite 4, and they will journey into the portal, each facing one...beast...and hopefully catching it. Many trainers, from all across the world will participate, will you be one of the ten?
Setting: This will take place in Hoenn. You may be from any other region, you just have to put that you come to Hoenn in your History or in the actual RP. HOWEVER, all pokemon will be in this region, so if you like Pidgeas, then you're in luck.

Name: Arlene Marie Sanders
Appearance: Freak. What a freak! Though it is rumored that Arlene's race are half-human-half-fox hybrids, considering that she is covered in a fine auburn-orange fur complete with a white undercoat painting her belly and breast, most do not consider her even remotely resembling a human being. This is in spite of the fact that she walks on two legs, can speak English and German quite fluently, and has an inlying respect for all life. Long black socks of fur are wrapped across her forearms and shins, as well as her feet and hands; the same shade of jet can be found in a strange etching into the left side of her short muzzle, as well as on an unusual marking on her backside (but nobody ever sees that!)
Honed, tested eyes of the deepest, purest emerald peer out across her muzzle, and from previous experiences, a scar has been slashed across her right eye, though not damaging it. Her soft, fine length of hair that reaches across her back and towards her hips may as well be made of gold as it shimmers in the light, a beautiful natural shade of blonde. She wears black combat boots that have been polished to such a beautiful sheen that they appear to be made of raw ebony; black cargo pants, bunched at the boots, which bear a faint layer of black and gray camouflage; a black tanktop, which does very little to hide her "development" as a young woman; and occasionally, a ponytail to bind her pretty hair.
Personality [Recommended 2 Paragraphs]: Where she fails to gain respect, she has been known to show a significant amount of humility in an attempt to foster friendship. Arlene has always been the kind of person to fight for what she really wants in life, be it friends, love, or Pokemon. Scarcely has there ever been a time when Arlene has not put her self so many levels beneath the other person just to offer her friendship, and in turn been spat in the face for being 'unnatural'.
As she is not human, and yet walks upright and has a strong grasp of technology, human psychology, and of the fine arts, alot of humans find her intimidating to be around - as if she threatens their survival. Due to this, from which many battles have been brewed, she always keeps a knife strapped to her belt for emergency use. This is frowned upon even more by what few human friends she has - but what else can she do?
History: Arlene was born and raised in another land not marked on the map, journeying all the way to Sinnoh by her sixteenth birthday, but Hoenn is a very new place to her. When she was four years old, her parents were murdered, and in reaction she and her uncle - a wolf named Orion - fled their homeland to Kanto, only to be found again by the same guild of assassins that took her parents. Only months prior to these events she and a group of Sinnoh trainers battled what she calls "Armageddon itself", though none have believed her thus far... As a further countermeasure, she never speaks of her recollections of this two-day journey to any but Orion, who seems to be the only voice of reason.
Now, only three days prior to current events, she has fled to Hoenn to avoid capture by this guild. She knows that soon will come the day that she has to face this group of assassins alone, and it troubles her deeply as she ponders a strange past with a strange people. Since she has come of age, her sharp green eyes glow in the moonlight, and her fur grows out a good entire inch, giving her a ragged, shaggy appearance. She seems to gain a certain height in her senses that she never had before, but it's difficult to place for her...
Others [Siblings, likes, etc.]: No siblings. Guitar player & songwriter for a death metal band. Likes the calm few hours before sunrise.
I'll probably be updating this later today if this isn't good enough. I would prefer Piplup, if that's okay.
September 19th, 2008, 5:38 AM
Darkhaven: Wow...That's weird, but intriguing, I want to see what happens when she meets up with the guild. It cracked me up shes a songwriter for a death metal band XD
You are Accepted.
EDIT: I forgot to add that you have to do an RP sample, but Ive seen your work, and its genuis

Name: Max Tegeku
Appearence: Max is short for his age standing at 4 foot 1 and wighs in at 85 lbs. He has blonde spiky messy hair and a scar that runs down his left arm. He has blue eyes, a noticable car that runs down his eyelide to his eyelide on his right eye. He wears black pants, a red polo shirt, brown running shoes, a necklace with a scale from Kyogre for good luck encased in it, and green fingerless gloves on both hands.
Personality: Max is very anoing. He will aggrivate the crap out of people. He plays pranks on people, plays jokes on them, gets into trouble fo them, loves to climb trees, loves to swim, and rarely bathes. He doesn't like bathing because he doesn't feel like it is a neccessity. He doesn't stink though because he 24 7 wears colone and deodorant. He wears AXE and sometimes he puts to much on and people gag around him.
Max has been shuned out of everything his entire life. He pulls pranks on everyone because he wants to be noticed and it doesn't matter if it is negatively if they notice him. He doesn't have many friends except for his pokemon. He prefers to travel alone because he isn't afraid of most things.
History: Max was born in Pallet Town, Kanto. He grew up as one of Proffessor Oak's understudies. Most kids didn't want to hang around him because they didn't like Oak that much. Max grew up with pokemon until he was about 6. When he turned 6 his parents had a really good friend in the Hoenn region, Mr. Briney. They had become poorer and coudn't afford their house in Kanto.
Mr. Briney had told his parents that their was a house in LittleRoot for dirt cheap. They move there and Max hated it there. He was picked on by kids older then him and shuned out of everything. Then his parents realized this and moved to Sinnoh in Twinleaf Town where Max's adventure will begin...
Other: Max has a father, a mother, two older sisters that are twins, and two older brothers that are twins.
RP Sample: It is from another RP:)
Max was so excited! He had just got his third badge and was shining all of his badges. He was thinking of how to get to Celadon town where he could get his fourth badge. Should I take the ferry that leaves in thirty minutes? If I do, though, I will be really low on money. If I walk there I will have to walk through Saffron City where there are swarms of Team Rocket members, but it will save me a bunch of money. I could fly there with Pidgeotto but it will really wear her down. Max sighed. It was really exciting thinking about getting his fourth badge.
He looked at the clock. 15 minutes until the ferry left. "Guess I'll just walk there. It's more fun that way. Besides maybe I'll be able to show Team Rocket what I'm made of." Max said confidently walking over to the computer that would allow him to call home. He planned on letting Nidorino and Psyduck take a break for a little while and get Pikachu out so he could get some of the action in.
Beep. Beep. Beep. The machine rang as he tried to call Professor Oak. "Hello?" Oak finally answered.
"Hey Professor! Look at my badges. I've got three now!' Max said excitedly holding up his badges case.
"Wow Max! You've got a bunch of badges now." Oak said surprised.
"Yeah well the main reason I called you was that I was wondering if I could give you Nidorino and Psyduck so that they can have a rest." Max said grinning.
"Sure. Which ones do you want in return?" Oak asked him.
"Actually I only want Pikachu." Max said.
"Ok just put you pokeballs in two of the six slots next to the screen." Oak said.
Max looked over and there was a small box that had six pokeball slots. He grabbed Nidorino's and Psyduck's pokeballs and put them inside two slots. While Max was doing this Professor Oak was finding Max's Pikachu's pokeball and put it inside one of the slots too.
"Now press the green button." Oak said pressing the green button on his box thing.
Max pressed it and the two pokeballs vanished and one appeared. He grabbed it and threw it into the air. A white light flashed and a yellow mouse like pokemon with red cheeks, two long yellow ears, and a long yellow tail popped out of the ball.
"Pika Pikachu!" It said jumping into Max's arms.
"Ahaha." Max laughed. He was happy to see Pikachu again.
"Ok. Well I guess I will talk to you later." Oak said hanging up.
Max hung up and then called his other pokemon out. He looked at the time and the ferry had already left. He smirked and then they went outside.
"I guess we should start leaving. Huh?" Max asked his pokemon.
"Pidgeotto! Oh ya! I can't wait to meet other pokemon!" his Pidgeotto said.
"Pika Pikachu. Yeah let's show that Gym leader and Team Rocket who’s boss!" His Pikachu said.
"Saur! Well don't just stand there let's hurry up and go!" His Ivysaur said.
"Ok then let's go!" Max said.
Preffered Starter: Pikachu :)

Ok, Pikalover, you got a spot accepted.
September 19th, 2008, 11:56 AM
Name: Sparky Black (Real Name: Lex Maria Black)
Appearance: Sparky is a tall, slender girl with straight chestnut brown hair and sideswept bangs, pale, unblemished skin, and a mostly, but not completely symmetrical face. Her hair reaches to five inches past her shoulders and she wears it in two braids over her shoulder, and her eyes are brown, like her hair, and quite unremarkable. She wears a black and white striped polo shirt, a black belt that she wears loose, and white, black, and dark gray plaid shorts. She also wears white running shoes, and red ruby pendant around her neck.
Personality: Sparky is an overall easy person to get along with, she hardly ever says anything mean to anyone, mostly because she doesn't feel they deserve the mean words, although occasionally she does meet someone she just hates before she even talks to them, and usually the feeling is mutual. She has a way of conveying her anger, disappointment, whatever emotion she's feeling to someone through a look or glare, she doesn't know how she does it, but she can put any emotion or message into a look. Just because Sparky usually puts up with any insults doesn't mean she never gets angry, she just has a really slow burning rope, and if you're the one who reaches the end of it, prepare for a sharp retort and seven years of the silent treatment, which Sparky is an expert at. She also is a black belt in karate, so she can knock some people out with one blow, though she really doesn't want for any disagreement or something to ever come to that.
History: When Sparky was born, her father had already left home. He had left saying that he didn't want to stay at home and care for the baby, though her mother didn't agree, and so he left in the middle of the night, without telling anyone, without leaving a note or letter or any sign of farewell. Sparky's mother was grief stricken, but chose to keep it a secret, and reveal it later, when Sparky was old enough to 'understand.' Instead, she told Sparky that her father never lost his dream of being a pokemon master, and that was why he had left home, and that he might be back someday to stay. Sparky believed her, because she felt that her mother ought to have been one of the people who knew her father best. She was enrolled in karate at the age of two, as an outlet for her restless energy, even to this day Sparky can not stand or sit still, and seemed to have talent in the art. She progressed quickly, becoming a black belt before the rest of her class that she had started with had, and when she was twelve, about to start her pokemon journey, finally she learned about her father. It hit her harder than her mother would have expected, and put her down for quite a bit, but finally got over it and decided her father was a loser. She won't have anyone mention his name around her, unless they're looking for a real nice black eye.
Others: Her cyndaquil will refuse to stay in its pokeball unless its extremely injured or tired.
Arwen removed her beret and ran her hand through her short, platinum blond hair, she had always wondered why it had grown out platinum blond, but hair color wasn't something she wasted a lot of thought on.
"Sableye! Sab-sableye!" Sableye suddenly cried out excitedly, and Arwen jumped, putting the beret back on her hair and squinting into the cave, though her eyes had adjusted to the darkness. Sableye's eyes glowed brightly. cutting through the darkness, and Arwen saw what he was so excited about. He had found a piece of what looked like quartz, though it more closely resembled dirty ice. Arwen smiled, knowing Sableye liked to eat gemstones, just then, Sableye lifted the gemstone up to its mouth and bit into it, it cracked as a piece broke off, and Sableye crunched it between its teeth, breaking it into finer chunks before swallowing.
"I think I hear voices, oh no, not more Rocket Members, maybe they're just echoes." Arwen muttered, and received no reply save for the crunching sounds that issued from Sableye's direction, with a final swallow and a satisfied smile, Sableye suddenly turned and began leading the way again, pausing to scare a geodude.
"Sableye, that wasn't very nice, remember, this is their home, I'm sure they're just being protective of it." Sableye lowered its head, taking in the words, and then lifted it again and began walking forward, its diminuitive body difficult to follow through the darkness of the cave. "Do you think there could possibly be other trainers here? That would be cool, wouldn't it? I wonder who Team Rocket is, they sound like a team, obviously, but what else? And why did they want you, Sableye?" Arwen asked out loud, not being much of a talker, she normally would have said every word of this in her head, but walking through a dark and unfamiliar cave made her slightly nervous, and she found herself talking to herself just to reassure herself a bit.
"Sableye!" Sableye whimpered, any previous trace of confidence gone, it was a graveler, bigger than Sableye, and as Arwen watched Sableye backed away from the intimidating pokemon.
"Don't worry Sableye, just stop moving and the graveler will know we're not a threat, okay?" Sableye, following Arwen's directions, froze mid step...and fell. Hitting the ground with a thud, it got up and scampered over to Arwen, who picked Sableye up and set it on her head, then stared at the graveler, holding its gaze, or doing it as best as she could without being able to see the graveler. Finally, the graveler decided there was nothing unusual about a trainer passing through on their way to Violet City, and moved on, stomping away into the darkness. "Isn't this weird, we're navigating this tunnel with no light source, of course, we've got you, Sableye." Arwen said, to take Sableye's mind off of the graveler, and felt Sableye shift on top of her beret.
"Sableye?" Sableye murmured, climbing down onto her shoulder, then, deciding it wasn't as comfortable, climbed back onto Arwen's head. They continued walking, Sableye giving the directions, until finally, Arwen became slightly frustrated with trying to interpret Sableye's directions without being able to see her pokemon.
"Oh, forget this," she muttered, and swung her backpack around. She rummaged through it for a few moments, all the while muttering incomprehensibly to herself, and came up with a flashlight. Then she zipped her bag and flicked the switch on the flashlight, flooding the ground in front of them with a bright beam of light. "I hope I don't frighten any pokemon with this flashlight, otherwise, I'll just put it away." Just then, Sableye gave another cry of excitement and darted off her head, jumping to the ground, and scampering over to a pile of loose rocks to come up with...another piece of quartz. Arwen smiled, restraining herself from rolling her eyes, for she knew how much Sableye adored quartz crystals, and watched as Sableye proceeded to eat it the same way it had eaten the other one. Then, when it finished, it wiped a few last fragments off of its face and ran back to Arwen, who place it on her head and continued on into the tunnel.

RP Sign Up Sheet
Name: Mira Joseph (her friends call her M or "em")
When it comes to clothes, Mira will wear whatever is clean in her closet that morning. This usually includes a tight fitting pair of jeans, a tank-top, a black zip-up sweatshirt, and her favorite black knee high boots (on her good days). Thank goodness they’re flats. She’s only five foot two but she’ll put up a fight if the situation calls for it. She’s slightly muscular in both her arms and her legs; if there’s anything she keeps up it’s physical health.
Her golden locks are always up in a ponytail and her bangs are swept to one side of her face. Behind a layer or two of black eye liner, her wide grey eyes are observant and focused. They are like storm clouds that never rain. Her facial features are somewhat pointed giving her an elvish look about her. Her thin lips, which tease into a smile only on those infamous good days, are known to opening and spewing the snidest of remarks.
Personality [Recommended 2 Paragraphs]:
Mira has grown into the kind of person that has a hard time trusting anyone, mostly because of her home life. She is all about instinct and rarely lets anyone see who she really is. Mira is beautiful and holds herself well, but she doesn’t necessarily think she’s better than anyone else.
She doesn’t think before she speaks. Which leads to regretful words and misunderstandings, but she’s used to it by now. A lot of people would tell you that Mira is like a dripping faucet; you just gotta get used to her and then it’s barely noticeable. She's also impatient and would rather do things quickly, even if it means doing it wrong.
Despite all of this, Mira has a good heart and is all about helping people, as long as her ‘tough as nails’ reputation isn’t harmed.
Mira’s parents have been fighting since before she could remember. They yell morning, noon, and night. She hates being at home because of this. If she so much as looks at her father wrong, he explodes at her. She wishes her and her mother could just leave Lavender Town but her father is just too dangerous to aggravate. He’s set on having her run the family business when he retires, but restaurant work just isn’t for her.
She was born and raised in Lavender and only her friends (whose houses she escapes to) really believe she can do something better with her life than run a dumb restaurant.
Pokemon has always been an interest of hers but, like most things, her father simply refuses that she become a trainer because it will distract her from the restaurant.
One day her parents become too much and she leaves without a note or a goodbye, her anger blinding.
Others [Siblings, likes, etc.]:
She skips her shifts at the “family business” to go to a kick boxing class; she’s never really had the patience for anger management.
She’s always wanted to travel and is hoping that finally she’ll get the chance to see the world.
She hates all that is girly.
Mira has read every book at her local library but will never admit it.
She's pretty much addicted to tea.
They were fighting again.
The voices were muffled behind the closed door. Her parents always had the decency to close the door. Mira rolled her eyes; they were pathetic. It made her want to punch a hole through the wall the way her parents treated her like a kid. She wasn't dumb, she knew they were fighting.
She heard glass break. Now we're down to three plates, she sighed and put a pillow over her head. The metal bed frame was about to fall apart but she didn't care as she rolled back and forth, trying to drown out the sounds of her parents. She removed the pillow, looking determined and glaring at the ceiling as though it were taunting her.
Mira sat up suddenly, her blonde hair down to her shoulders instead of up for once, and threw her pillow at the wall. Quickly, she began packing her things into a small duffel that she found under her bed. The teenager didn't own much so the packing process was a lot easier than she thought.
She put her hair up so fast a stranger would have done a double take. A small stash of money was quickly shoved into her back pocket.
Upon opening her window a cool breeze ran over her face and she was glad that her mother had managed to buy her coat. Even if it was just a zip up sweatshirt. She put one leg outside and was out of the house without a second thought. She couldn't take this anymore, it was driving her crazy. She had to leave.
Reaching the limits of Lavender Town, her grey eyes glanced back at the small house that was no longer hers. She'd never called it home and would not miss it, but Mira promised herself that if she ever got enough money she'd make sure her mom was as far away from her father as possible.
Her mother was strong, but this could not continue. Her foots steps were sure and solid as she turned her back on everything she knew.

Name: Kenneth Henry (goes by Kenny most of the time.)
Kenneth is about 4’11 and he has dark skin. His hair is black and spiky but most of the time it covered up by a green bandana. He wears a silver necklace with a pendent of his family in it all the time. He has a pair of goggles on his forehead that are grey with yellow lens and a black band that keeps it on his head. He is always wearing his black back pack that has a green sewn in Snorlax footprint in the middle of the bag.
Kenneth is a shy person but at the same time very kind. He is the type of person that doesn't like to open up to others and stays secluded in his bubble. He never speaks and never asks for help because he doesn’t feel confident about himself and thinks getting help is a sign of weakness. He will only work with others if he has to and even then he only focuses on the job at hand and finishes it as quickly as possible so he can go back to being by himself.
Kenneth is always contemplating whether he should change but so far he has gotten no where. He doesn’t have friends and he doesn’t go around messing with others. He is very courteous to others because he knows it will pay off in the long run and he will help people out as long as it does not require him to talk. Now he wants to change but doesn’t know how exactly to start his new ways so he decided to go on adventures to change his ways.
Kenneth was in a family of 5 and he happened to be the middle of children. The things that the other two did to always outshine Kenneth’s accomplishments and when he did do something that the other two failed at he seemed to not get the same recognition that they would have got. Kenneth always felt left out and thought that he could never be as good as the other two in the family.
When Kenneth turned 12 he wanted to become a pokemon trainer and try to be the best he could be. His parents would often find Kenneth looking in books about tactics and strategies of pokemon battles. Kenneth would leave the house reading books on pokemon and he went to the lab to help with the pokemon sometimes. Kenneth would sometimes ask his parents if he could go to Rustboro city and sit in the pokemon school classes. They would tell him to take a bus or to see if one of his friends would take him because they were always seemed to be too busy to help him. Kenneth found ways to get the knowledge of pokemon.
One year later Kenneth was able to go out and become a trainer. Kenneth was smiling from ear to ear and he began packing. Kenneth was determined to prove to his family that he was nothing to be looked down upon. Kenneth began leaving the house His mom pulled out a phone and a necklace with a pendent that had a picture of his family on it. Kenneth saw that with this gift that his parents was behind him all the way.
Others : He has an older sister that had went off to become a professor in the Kanto region. While his younger brother is still to young to leave home but he visits the lab from time to time to play with the pokemon.
RP Sample is a must
Sorry that is has nothing to do with this RP.
“What?” Kenneth said groggy and confused. “Why am I here I was….” Kenneth became silent trying to remember where he was last. “Hmm strange can’t remember a thing.”
Kenneth started walking off the beach trying to think of what happened. Kenneth ran into a small green and yellow stomach pokemon.
“Hey watch where you are walking Turtwig.” it yelled. Kenneth stopped and turned around. He saw a caterpillar staring back at him.
“Wha- what did you call me?” Kenneth asked confused.
“Turtwig, I called you turtwig because you are one.” the bug said.
“ No I am not. I am human.” Kenneth replied
“Hahaha” the bug laughed. “Look I call you like I see you and you are a turtwig.” Kenneth ran over to the sea and looked at his face. He saw a green turtle like face with a yellow under jaw and a brown stick with two green leaves coming out of it off the top of his head.
“ Ahh! I am a turtwig.” Kenneth yelled as he ran off.
Kenneth continued to run away from the truth. “It cant be. I cant be a pokemon I just cant.” Kenneth said quietly to himself. He started to slow down to a walk as he entered a town. He looked up and saw many pokemon gathered buy and selling and even just having conversations. Kenneth walked into the mess of pokemon amazed that pokemon could have such a civilized world. Kenneth heard a voice from behind and turned to see who it was.
“HEY!” the pokemon yelled. “ Hold up I have to tell you something.”
Kenneth stopped and wait for the caterpillar to catch up.
“Glad I caught you. I just remembered that there are some pokemon in the guild that are similar to you.” It said with a smile.
“Thank you little man.” Kenneth said with a cheerful face walking to the other side of town.
“My name is Caterpie mister!” Caterpie said with an angry look.
I would like Bulbasaur if it hasn't been taken yet.

Allison let out a long, low sigh as she made her first step into Littleroot Town of the Hoenn Region. The sun was warm on her brown clothed shoulders and a slight breeze rustled the leaves in the trees.
“Here I am,” she muttered aloud, defiantly squaring her slender shoulders and raising her elegant chin. She had travelled by train and ferry to reach this quiet, quaint town and was not impressed. The houses were too small, too cosy, like cottages straight out of a fairy tale. Already Allison missed the city, Saffron City. She longed for the buzz, the lights, the noise. It was all too quiet here; she could actually hear her own thoughts.
She reached for the envelope, which was tucked away safely in her brown leather satchel bag. The letter had came to her whilst she was still at home, and even though Professor Oak’s lab in Pallet Town was geographically closer to her home, it was too close to her family in Saffron City, and the whole desire of a Pokemon journey was to get as far away from her family as possible.
Allison read over the letter again, gently thumbing the edges, feeling a slight unease when reading the words “You MAY NOT decline this offer”.
“Or what?” she had thought upon first reading it. Allison had never handled authority well, her teachers knew that, and preferred to suggest things to her rather than demand. She was a good student, if left to her own devices, and rarely needed guidance.
The letter had intrigued her, however, it was mysterious and promised adventure. She wanted adventure, she wanted freedom and independence.
Professor Oak had recommended Professor Birch of Littleroot Town, when they exchanged emails several weeks before. Allison was intrigued by the Hoenn region; she had grown up in both the Jhoto and Kanto region, and her family frequented Snowpoint City in the Sinnoh region, for their family vacation. She had never been to anywhere in the Hoenn region before, and was surprisingly excited to begin her Pokemon journey. This was new to Allison; few things excited her.
She navigated her way through the small town easily and found the largest building, which was Professor Birch’s lab in a matter of minutes. Allison approached the lab and felt her heart start to hammer in her chest out of anxiety and excitement, and then felt her heart uncharacteristically sink when she noticed a note pinned to the door, advising her, and everyone else, that Professor Birch was out conducting research on Route 101.
Slightly annoyed, Allison again squared her shoulders and strode purposefully out of Littleroot Town, and onto the trail of Route 101. It was very calm, mostly because it was still early morning and hardly anyone was awake. Around her she heard the noises of Pokemon, unfamiliar noises to Allison.
And then, tearing through the calm of the morning she heard a shout of help from further up the trail, Allison increased her pace, breaking into a run when the shouts became more urgent.
Allison wheeled around the corner to see a man, with a beard, cornered by a small, dark grey doglike Pokemon. The Pokemon was growling, teeth bared and lunging forward, trying to bite the man with a bead. For a split second Allison froze, this was the first time she had every encountered a wild, aggressive Pokemon like this, not to mention she was in an unfamiliar place and had no way of defending herself or this strange man. Her first instinct was to turn on her hiking boot-ed heel and run as fast as her thin legs would take her.
But she swallowed her fear and stood tall, looking for a rock or something to throw at the attacking Pokemon, preferably before he turned on her. The man's bag was abandoned on the dewy grass, with several Pokeballs surrounding it, obviously belonging to the man with a beard.
"I'm just going to use one of these to help" Allison shouted to the stranger, and without waiting for a response she seized the closest Pokeball and threw it, imitating the trainers she had seen at school or on television.
A red light beamed from the Pokeball and formed the shape of a small Pokemon, slowly it materialized and formed the shape of an orange Pokemon, with a reptile-like head and a tale with a weak flame flickering from the end
"Char!" The strange Pokemon cried and tilted its head in confusion.
"Don't just stand there! Do something! That's your trainer that's about to be mauled by some wild Pokemon" Allison shouted, her heart pounding.
The orange Pokemon nodded and turned to the grey doglike Pokemon and charged at it, using its claws to scratch the wild Pokemon across the face.
"Good work!" Allison called, becoming more and more confident as the man's Pokemon continued to scratch the wild Pokemon, weakening it.
The grey doglike Pokemon slammed it's body repeatedly against the orange Pokemon, pushing it off its feet.
"C'mon! Get up! You can do this!" Allison encouraged, and the Pokemon looked at her, let out a low cry and attacked once again.
One well aimed scratch connected with the grey Pokemon's eye and with a violent howl it tore away from the grass and into the trees.
The small orange Pokemon meandered over to Allison, seeking approval. Allison smiled at it, and went to touch it, but hesitated.
One, she did not know this Pokemon and Two, it did not belong to her.
"Uh, nice work," she praised and then turned to the man with the beard.
"Wow. That was impressive!" he cried, and held out a hand which Allison shook awkwardly "I'm Professor Birch, of Littleroot Town" he introduced himself, with a massive smile on his bearded face.
"I'm Allison Beeman, of Saffron City and I have been looking for you all morning," Allison explained, feeling relieved that she had found the man she was looking for.
"Ah, Allison. Nice to meet you. And what can I do for you?" Professor Birch asked, as he pet the orange Pokemon affectionately.
"I recieved this, and Professor Oak recommended that I come see you" she told the Professor as she handed him the letter.

EDIT: Ok, I looked at ur other post, and I understand, I should of made it clearer. If you could edit your post to fit the new chapter that wuld be awesome :)

On a dirt road not far away, a new figure glided across the ground, a dreary black cloak hiding the figure's determinant features from the gleaming sunlight of early morning. At a slow pace the dark character treaded through the gravel, barely letting a sound escape from beneath the cloak, which was in itself very out of place in such heat. A billowing tail, tufty and soft and with lovely fur of the finest auburn-orange and tipped in snow-white, poked out from the strange cloaked assailant's robes, giving the only hint at what could possibly lie beneath the layer of cloth. After a few more paces into the trough between two hills in the road, the figure paused, and a crackling, gravelly and rough-sounding voice weakly faded into existence, as if via radio. "Okay. You're out of eyesight from the town."
Ripping the cloak off of herself in one smooth motion and leaving the thick dress to the wind, a small female fox at about 5' 2" stood in the center of the road, letting her hair flow freely in the wind for the first time in weeks. The new aroma of the Hoenn flora was pleasing to her after spending most of her down-time on a cargo ship as a stowaway to the region, and if nothing else, she felt great to finally be free of any attempts to hide her identity. Arlene had come prepared, as well - smuggling a deadly-looking combat knife on the back of her belt, and with heavy jet-black combat boots, it was not as if she had been expecting the trip to be an easy ride. She paused for a moment, breathing in the new scents and aromas of this strange region. Already, she noticed many smells that she could not place, hear the sounds of wild Pokemon that she had never encountered before... It made her thoughts wander to Snake, to Jaydin, and to Fate - whom she had left with a close personal friend in Sinnoh.
Her shallow, gingerly-placed steps continued, as the vixen contemplated the letter she had received days prior to arriving in the region. A strange sense of emptiness filled her as she thought too of the guild of assassins trailing her, possibly watching her every move as she lay dormant in idle thought this very second. The rustling in the leaves above in the trees, Arlene noted, had come to an odd pattern which she could not quite place. You tended to notice unusually insignificant things when you were running from death. It was a grim reality that had dawned on Arlene as she attributed it to the new region being unfamiliar to her, but as the walk progressed, the leaves stirred very unnaturally, and the grass blew a little harder than normal. A wind had begun to pick up, definitely, but Arlene sensed something amiss.
A scream for help entered her ears, which perked up as the fur on the back of her neck bristled in fright. Trying to maintain her cool, the vixen increased her pace, not daring look in the opposite direction. As the screams became more desparate, she didn't realize that she had broken into a running gait down the dirt road, which spiralled away into tangling, winded foliage and darkness. She braced herself and pushed through the thick vines and leaves, until finally separating herself from the thick mass of flora and sprawling out onto the ground before a rather typical scene that should not have unnerved her as much as it had. Another girl was present, about her age Arlene guessed, and who she could only suppose was a scientist of some sort - possibly the man Arlene needed to meet.
Then it occurred to her that other Pokemon were present as well, which she scented quite vividly and placed into memory the thick layers of stink the wild Pokemon in this region seemed to possess. Reacting to the tactical lobe of her brain first, she drew her combat knife - a black-bladed Ka-bar at about seven inches - as a rather grizzly, mousey Pokemon made a lunge for her. It wasn't until she recollected herself in the heat of the battle that she recognized the Pokemon as a Rattata, which was common in her home region of Kanto; but this one seemed... More aggressive, somehow. The fox couldn't quite place it, but something about it was quite wrong. Using the askew nature of the battle between a trainer and a Pokemon to her advantage, Arlene held her knife cross-turned and made what appeared to be a jump towards one side of the Rattata, which it attempted to anticipate.
Instead of following through with the move, Arlene turned about-face and tank-rolled to her right side, wrapping her tensed paw around the strap of a messenger bag. To whom Arlene was not sure it belonged, but she was not about to stop and ask. Instead, she gripped one of the Pokeballs hanging at the side of the bag, and tossed it forth, both stunning the Ratatta by clobbering it in the head with the ball and releasing a Pokemon entirely at random. A grin upturned in Arlene's lips as the spiralling stream of bright, free energy took the form of a small, blue penguin with a very round head and big, pretty jet eyes.
"Piplup!" the small creature verified, though Arlene was quite aware that she had been right to place her success of this battle in the hands of chance. She stuffed her combat knife away onto the back of her belt - she most certainly did not want to use it, and tended to use it for intimidation at any rate - and spoke in a calm, collected voice that definitely did not mirror how she felt. "Piplup... Er... Do something to beat this thing back! Anything will do!"
On this shaky, generalized command, the first few milliseconds of hesitation manifested itself in Arlene's Pokemon not being quite so sure how to react. Eventually, the Piplup soared into action, launching itself face-first at the angered Rattata. It's beak pounded into the Rattata's forehead, causing a deafening crack; when the Piplup strayed away from it's target and returned to Arlene's side, she noticed the Rattata had been bruised in the spot, possibly scraped as well, with a hint of blood beneath it's purple fur. In the same careful voice, Arlene ordered again, "Piplup, do it again!" With a fierce readiness in it's small voice, the penguinlike Pokemon forced it's beak into the Rattata's side, and Arlene was sure she heard a rib snap. With this, the Rattata was forced to retreat, bloodied and defeated.
Turning down her gaze to the Piplup as it returned once again loyally to Arlene's side, the vixen kneeled down and raised her paw to pet the cute creature's soft fur, marvelling in the smooth, thin layer of pretty blue bristles that adorned it's body. It gave what could be considered a smile given it's lack of lips, and Arlene smiled back, unaware of the scene not far away. Or that she was supposed to return this Pokemon. Immediately on this realization, she stood and padded towards the other girl and the scientist, who she assumed was Professor Birch, the head of Pokemon Research in Littleroot Town. What he was doing out here, Arlene left for him to explain.
"Wow, that was impressive!"
Arlene wasn't quite sure who the man was talking to. He shook Allison's hand, which she seemed rather ill-equipped to return the gesture. She smirked, and retreated into the dark to congratulate the newly appeared Pokemon's performance in combat. Not a minute later, as she lifted her her eyes back to the scene, the scientist turned to Arlene.
"And you, too, miss... Ah... Didn't catch your name?"
"My name is Arlene. I assume you're professor Birch, who the President of the Pokemon Welfare whatever-the-hell says I am ordered to meet. I trust you're okay?" That was just like Arlene - to keep everything strictly business.

"You man NOT decline this offer..."
Mira grumbled to herself. She was not used to being told what to do. Her parents ignored her so she was her own boss.
She grimaced at the thought of her parents. The sting of guilt was eating away at her heart but she had to grin and bare it. Apparently she needed to get to Little Root Town and pronto. It was out of pure coincidence that she had checked the mail on her way out. She didn’t know why she had done it, but after she turned her back on Lavender Mira felt as though she were forgetting something.
The letter was already extremely worn. The blond had folded and unfolded it so many times, still surprised every time her stormy eyes read the demanding words. She was planning on leaving home anyways, at least now she had a plan.
The train ride from Saffron City to Johto made her realize that she hated trains. Mira wished she could just find this Professor Birch and get started. She was getting impatient, yet excitement filled her to the tips of her fingers. Mira had rarely left Lavender and had never set foot outside of Kanto. She'd always wanted to travel.
Despite the adrenaline pumping in her veins, she was in not a good mood. The weather seemed to oblige her feelings, as it usually did. The rain drizzled lazily down the window. With her thin fingers she connected the drops to make simplistic pictures. It was the only thing she could do to distract her from her annoying seat partner.
“So why you heading to Johto?” the thirteen year old asked, again. The girl's red hair was up in ridiculous pig tails that swung as she bounced in her seat.
“To take a train to Hoenn,” Mira said through gritted teeth.
Mira let her hand fall from the window and clenched her fists so tightly that her knuckles were white. Slowly she turned toward the girl.
“None of your business,” her eyes bore so intensely into the stranger that immediately the young girl asked to switch seats as soon as an employee walked by.
“Kids,” Mira spat.
Mira had been waiting at the Johto train station for over an hour; the train to Hoenn was late. Her foot tapped rhythmically on the marble when suddenly a weight prevented her from doing so.
Mira looked down to find an Eevee sitting contently on her right foot. She sighed, not annoyed in the least. The Pokemon smiled at her sweetly. Mira’s knowledge of Pokemon was impressive for someone who wasn’t a trainer and she hoped it would help her get ahead of the game. All those nights she had avoided going home she spent in Lavender's small library, reading up on everything Pokemon. She'd even fallen asleep there one night; it was the best sleep she'd even had.
“Eeeee,” the Eevee was adorable but before Mira could even think of petting it, Eevee’s owner ran over looking frantic.
“Oh, I am so sorry!” a small boy said, looking very concerned but relieved that his Eevee was safe.
“It’s okay,” said Mira, smiling for the first time that day, “This was the highlight of my day. May I pet her?”
The boy grinned, thankful that this mean looking teenager meant no harm, and held his Eevee forward. Its fur was soft and it made Mira forget all about the late train. She completely forgot she was even taking a train until an announcement blared over the speaker.
“Sorry for the inconvenience. The train for Hoenn is now arriving.”
“Well, I gotta be going, thanks again,” Mira said, giving the Eevee one last ruffle of the fur. It was moments like these that made her see that not everything in life was dreadful. If there was anything she had to look forward to, it was meeting her first Pokemon. She'd love it more than both her parents loved her.
One train ride later and the longest walk Mira had ever experienced, she finally arrived at Little Root Town. She was in such a rush to get there that all the beauty of the Hoenn region had gone unnoticed. Thankfully, it would be revisited on her journey.
Little Root was smaller than Lavender but she had the hardest time finding this Professor Birch. Even his lab assistants were clueless to his whereabouts.
"He said something about some field research," one of them mentioned as she stormed out.
Frustrated, Mira kicked every rock in her path as she began to leave Little Root. She had come all this way and Birch wasn’t even here. Pissed was an understatement.
A ruckus distracted her. She perked up at the sound of a struggle and was ready to help whomever needed it. A man in a lab coat was flailing about helplessly, a Ratatta attacking him ferociously. “Use one of the pokeballs! Help me!” he exclaimed.
Without a second thought, Mira found a bag containing multiple pokeballs. She was drawn to one in particular and threw it.
“Squirrrrrtle! Squirt!” the turtle Pokemon let out a rather cute battle cry before turning to see who threw his pokeball. His big eyes caught sight of Mira and automatically accepted what he saw.
“Go! Help him!” Mira yelled helplessly. What attack did lower level Pokemon know? Think Mira, think!!
The Squirtle ruthlessly struck the Ratatta with a full body blow. That was all it took, this Squirtle was tough. The wild Pokemon ran away, screeching as he left.
“Thank you! Oh goodness, thank you!” the man was so grateful as he got to his feet. “I really should be more careful. This isn’t the first time this has happened, you see,” he laughed at himself.
“Uh huh…” was all Mira could say. This guy was too happy, it made her skeptical of his intentions right away. Squirtle looked proud and was waiting to be congratulated; she patted him on the head absentmindedly.
“Are you Mira Joseph?” the man asked, picking up his notes and various other pokeballs.
“Are you Professor Birch?” she asked.
Birch smiled, “Yes, I think this was fate. Come back to my lab where we can talk about all of this. I would rather not be attacked again,” he laughed again. “Oh, and bring your Squirtle.”
“My Squirtle?” Mira practically choked out the words.
“Indeed” the Professor grinned ear to ear.

Thank you from, President Fuller
Chairman of The PWC
Pokemon Welfare Cooperation"
Sparky growled at the words "Lex Maria," she didn't like people using the "Maria" part of her name, though the "Lex" part actually didn't sound too bad. Maybe she should shed her childhood nickname, which she received because her first experience with pokemon was when a pichu she had found unconcious on the road shocked her as she ran for the nearest pokemon center. But she felt like she was outgrowing her nickname, still, she thought, how many people do you know named Sparky? I mean, seriously? Just me, so far as I know, it is pretty cool. Guess I might as well go to...wherever.
She left her house, walking down towards the Lab, she rummaged through her bag to retreive the letter that she had stowed away before she left the house. She stared at it for a few more long moments, pondering over the words, "you may not decline this offer..." Why though? How come she wasn't allowed to decline. Unless her mother or someone had fixed this up, she could decline if she wanted to. It was just that she really didn't want to. Shoving it unceremoniously into her bag, she stared forward at the road ahead. Her first journey, she supposed, and sighed before continuing.
"Well...this is it, right?" Sparky muttered, staring at the front of a white building she was certain was the Lab. However, she didn't make note of the large red letter "P" above the doors. She walked in, passing through the glass doors, and was surprised to see Chanseys walking around. Chanseys? Professor Birch uses them too? I thought they were supposed to be Pokemon Nurses. She thought, puzzled, there seemed to be a lot of trainers here, all of them with pokemon. Funny, what do they need to see Professor Birch for if they've already got their first pokemon, or second, or third...? Then she spotted Nurse Joy walking calmly out of an examination room, an understanding look on her face as she spoke reassuringly to a trainer with a Treeko that seemed to be in very bad condition. Nurse Joy in the lab? Maybe she's doing volunteer work. Wow, I thought there was the Pokemon Center for that. Wait...Sparky did a facepalm and turned around, how could I be so stupid? I'm in the Pokemon Center! Geez, good thing I didn't go up to anyone and ask them for my first pokemon, god, that would have been embarrassing. She walked out of the Pokemon Center hastily, her face slightly pink.
She decided to keep walking, it couldn't be too long before she found the Laboratory. She vowed to get it right this time. It wasn't too hard, in a couple of minutes, she had reached the Laboratory in Littleroot Town. Walking through the glass doors, she approached who appeared to be a lab assistant hesitantly.
"Um, excuse me, sir. I'm here to see Professor Birch." She rummaged through her bag and pulled out her slightly crinkled letter, which she showed to the Assistant as proof.
"Oh, I'm terribly sorry, but Professor Birch isn't here at the moment. He's conducting research on Route 101, I suggest that you go find him there, or wait until he returns to speak to him." The Lab Assistant explained, unaware of Sparky's annoyance. Though, he really wouldn't have noticed it, Sparky hid her feelings well, which she didn't do all the time.
"Okay, thank you sir." She said respectfully, masking her irritation with a polite and light tone of voice. "I think I'll go find the Professor on Route 101." She backed out of the Laboratory, and made sure the glass doors has closed completely behind her before showing what she thought of that.
"Okay, so they tell me to go somewhere, which is here, and then I get here and then they tell me to go somewhere else! What's up with that, huh?" She muttered irritably, then sighed, "well, there's nothing else to do, is there? Besides wait for the Professor to return, I mean." She walked forward, the Lab growing smaller behind her as the distance between her and the Lab increased. Route 101, she noticed the sign, onto which someone had etched their initials, but she didn't stop and waste much time on that detail. Okay, so Professor Birch was somewhere on this Route. The early morning sun didn't provide much warmth, and Sparky shivered, the occasional cries of pokemon in the woods were the only sounds that pierced the otherwise silent air.
"Help! Please, help me!" An urgent cry, definitely not one of a pokemon, reached Sparky's ears. She ran forward, not knowing who it could be, but alarmed all the same.
She hadn't ran far before she saw a middle aged man with a beard that appeared to have been ambushed by a black and gray pokemon resembling a dog. They growled and bared their teeth threateningly, Professor Birch spotted Sparky and his almost panicked look relazed slightly. Sparky wasn't exactly frightened, she was a black belt in karate, she could take care of herself, however, she wasn't sure the same could be said for Professor Birch.
"Please, there are pokeballs in that bag over there! Pick one of them and throw it!" The Professor yelled desperately, his arms above his head as he tried to avoid the glares of the Poochyena.
"What?" Sparky wheeled around, spotting the ragged brown bag, she ran for it and picked it up, rummaging around. "How about...this one!" She tossed the pokeball into the air. Out came a mouse like pokemon. As it spotted the Poochyena, it began frightened and fire billowed out of its backside.
"Tell it to use tackle on the Poochyena!" Professor Birch called, running in circles.
"Use tackle on the Poochyena!" Sparky instructed the Cyndaquil, keeping her voice level despite her uncertainty. the Cyndaquil looked back at her almost disbelievingly, but refused to back down.
"Quil!" It ran towards the Poochyena, slamming into it with a full body tackle attack. The Poochyena squealed in surprised.
"Yena!" It stood up again after being knocked to the ground, tears seemed to appear in its eyes and it ran away. Sparky felt slightly bad for the Poochyena. But Cyndaquil was running back towards her.
Professor Birch stood up and dusted himself off, looking embarrassed.
"I'm sorry. I assure you that this won't happen again. I apologize, I know I don't seem like much of a pokemon Professor right now, after that...er...incident, let's call it that. Well, why don't we come back to the lab. That Cyndaquil seems to like you quite a bit." He added, seeing the Cyndaquil jump into Sparky's arms and smiling a bit at Sparky's astonished look. Then he picked up the bag, thanked Sparky one more time, and told her to jump into the Jeep.
Back at the Lab, Sparky had decided that she would start her journey with the Cyndaquil. Professor Birch nodded, seeming to understand.
"Yes, a trainer always develops the strongest bond with the first pokemon they catch as their starter, or with the pokemon they win their first battle with. Well then, I've just got a few more things to cover then." He disappeared behind a desk, and could be heard muttering and rummaging through stuff. He emerged once more holding a red rectangular boxlike device, and a few red and white pokeballs. Sparky listened intently as the Professor explained both devices, and then what she should hope to encounter on her journey. Then he sent her off.
"I must thank you once again for saving me earlier. I hope we do see each other again, and I wish you luck on your journey."
"Thanks so much, Professor." Sparky said before leaving the Laboratory, looking at the shiny red and white pokeball in her hand, which contained the Cyndaquil, a triumphant feeling spreading through her, I won my first not-official battle, and got a Cyndaquil for my starter! I suppose the trouble was worth it.
[Hopefully its all satisfactory]

The air had grown warmer, Allison noticed after the battle between Professor Birch’s Pokemon and the wild doglike one. Bright sunlight dappled the lush green grass and worn dirt path, Allison sighed at the feel of the sun on her shoulders, at the warmth of the air.
She loved heat and warmth.
That’s why she wore her brown sweater so often; the colour was warm, even in the coldest areas.
Allison looked back to Professor Birch, who was reading her letter with a furrowed brow.
“Hmmm,” he murmured, as he folded it up, slid it back into the envelope and handed it to Allison. “It would appear it is my responsibility to bestow upon you your first Pokemon,” The Professor concluded with a wide smile “Heck, after seeing you battle today, I’d say it’s more of an honour than a responsibility,” he added, chuckling.
Allison shrugged; she had never been one for compliments, if she had talent, she knew it. Her self-esteem had always been that way.
“Well, considering that you’ve already met Charmander,” Professor Birch continued, gesturing to the orange Pokemon “and shown that you two are talented together, I guess I have no other option then passing on this little guy to you”
“Oh... Umm... I was sort of wanting one that was less... lizardy,” Allison said, inspecting Charmander again and then returning her attention to the Professor “But thanks,” she continued “I’ll give him a go.”
Professor Birch laughed, loudly, too loudly for this time in the morning. God it was early, Allison though, inspecting her watch. If she were at home in Saffron City, she would be seated in her favourite coffee shop with a latte, ready for another monotonous day of school. Even monotony beat all this outdoorsy crap and lizard Pokemon.
He continued laughing, obviously taking her comment for a joke and then pointed down the trail of Route 101, which would lead them, back to Littleroot Town.
“Come on Allison, can I call you Alli?” the Professor asked.
“I prefer Bee,” she replied coldly.
“Alright then, Bee, come with me back to the lab and we’ll get this all sorted out,” he proposed, scooping the remaining Pokeballs into his bag and hitching it onto his large shoulder.
Allison nodded and began making her way down the beaten trail, past the trees and rich green grass, she turned slightly to notice Charmander marching loyally by her side, with his head raised. Her Charmander, she thought.
Allison did not know what to think of the orange lizard like Pokemon, she’d never had much experience with Pokemon, apart from the ones that inhabited the areas she’d lived in. In Mahogany Town she’d loved the majestic Stantler’s prancing through the woods surrounding Lake Rage, when she and her family had holidayed to Snowpoint City she’d always been amused by the Snover’s, the tree like ice Pokemon and when Sabrina of Saffron Gym put on exhibitions Allison had always been awed at the power and mystery of psychic Pokemon.
But this Pokemon, Charmander, was just there. Small, orange, with a flickering flame on the end of his tail, which classified him as a fire Pokemon Allison assumed. He had held his own in the battle earlier, but Allison doubted his ability against stronger, more formidable opponents. He looked up at her, tilting his orange head, and cried his name out in happiness for his new trainer. Allison shrugged, she had never liked affection.
Sleepy Littleroot Town was beginning to wake; people, trainers and their Pokemon scurried past Professor Birch and Allison, ready for a new day of training.
Most of them waved and offered greetings, some even stopped to chat with the Professor, Allison rolled her eyes, she was so not in the mood for pretending she liked people. Some of the male trainers eyed her appreciatively, stunned by the exquisite colour of her hair, Allison scowled, tying it back into a severe ponytail, she was also not in the mood for being hit on, especially from strangers who chose to live in this boring little town.
Finally, the pair reached the lab and Professor Birch led her through a series of rooms, filled with complicated equipment, which appealed to Allison’s scientific brain. She had always considered a job in Pokemon research, and had idolized Professor Oak for most of her life. When they reached a room, filled with bookcases, a computer and a large desk, Professor Birch sat down and gestured for Allison to do the same.
“Now Bee, tell me what brought you to the Hoenn region?” he asked “Professor Oak is a perfectly competent man and was much closer to your home.”
“Uh, I guess I learnt a fair bit about Hoenn in geography and Professor Oak recommended you” Allison explained, not wanting to go into the whole family situation.
”Ah yes, Samuel, I’ve been meaning to email him for a while. Right. Well, you best be on your way then, with Charmander, onto your Pokemon journey!” Professor Birch exclaimed, rising to his feet. Allison shrugged and stood up, stretching her long legs and looking around the office.
“These are for you!” Professor Birch declared, holding out a small red machine and several Pokeballs, which Allison took and shoved into her bag “That red thing is a Pokedex, it records data from Pokemon you see and capture” he explained.
“Oh, well thank you,” Allison said with a smile, a genuine smile, and turned her heel to leave.
“Good luck Bee!” Professor Birch cried as she marched determinedly through his lab and out the door, Charmander following her.
They made their way quickly across the town and back onto Route 101, Allison noticed several trainers had begun to battle on the grassy area off the side of the trail.
“Well come on lizard,” Allison murmured, addressing Charmander “Let’s see if we can find a battle…”

Mira and her Squirtle had followed Birch back to his lab and talked up a storm for hours before she remembered she was there for a reason.
"Pardon Professor, as much as I love talking about Pokemon with you, I need to get going on my journey," Mira interrupted politely.
Professor Birch shrugged and smiled, "Yes, it was pleasant talking. I've never met a girl your age whose read so many of my colleague's books! Anyways, I have something to give you before you go," he said. Birch reached into one of his lab coat pockets and pulled out a red device. "Here are some Pokeballs and this is a Pokedex."
Mira's eyes widened in awe, "Oh sir, thank you!" she had never been this excited about anything before. She'd only read about this genius piece of equipment. The fact that she now owned one made her giddy inside and out.
Squirtle, seeing his trainer's delight, also smiled, "Squirt!" he exclaimed, and hugged her leg. The two had taken a quick liking to each other after their first battle.
Mira picked up her things, "Is there a number I could reach you by?" she pulled out her phone. The Professor took is from her and programmed his number in.
"Don't hesitate to call," he said. With that Mira said farewell to the only adult who had ever showed her kindness and left to Route 101.
"These Rattata are EVERYWHERE!" Mira exclaimed. Squirtle remained outside of his pokeball because she liked the company and found it redundant to call him out every few seconds to fight off another rodent. They had just defeated their sixth one when Mira decided she needed to sit down.
Hoenn really was beautiful, especially that day. The rain from before was long forgotten as the sun warmed her from the inside out. She couldn't think of a time when she'd been more at peace. Squirtle came over and rested his round, blue head on one of her legs.
"Squirt squirrrtle!" he smiled up at her. He was excited, maybe even more so than she was, about heading out. She pet him and watched as he slowly fell asleep. After fighting all those Rattata, she didn't blame him. Before she knew it, Mira was asleep too.
Mira woke up to the sound of a struggle. Squirtle was no longer in her lap, he was fighting off a flock of Pidgey that didn't seem to happy about something. Quickly, after a tackle or two, most of them flew away. One, on the other hand, stayed and seemed to be challenging her Squirtle.
"I think I like this bird," she smirked, "Whats say you, Squirtle? You wanna add him to our team?"
Squirtle turned to her and nodded curtly. He looked determined and for second Mira thought she saw a little bit of herself in her Squirtle. It seemed as though they were the perfect match.
"All right Squirtle, Tackle!" she exclaimed, pointing at the Pidgey. The bird looked apathetic, either that or unthreatened by the team. This was changed as soon as Squirtle made contact with him.
Pidgey flew off the ground, from the tackle not his wings, and landed ten feet away. When he got up, Mira noticed a fire in those eyes that weren't there before. The Pidgey, with a running start, tackled right back.
"Squirtle, Tailwhip!" Mira said, too determined to let this fiery Pidgey get the best of her. "Now Tackle!"
The two Pokemon were neck and neck. After awhile, both were still up and both were exhausted. Mira pulled out a Pokeball and kissed it for good luck, "Enough of this," she muttered, throwing the red and white ball toward the Pidgey. All she could do now was wait.

Allison grit her teeth as she surveyed the scene, all the trainers on Route 101 were locked in battle, leaving her with no options for battling. She sat down on the warm grass, absorbing the heat from the sun and reached into her brown leather satchel and found an apple, which she began to eat. Her Charmander curled up into a ball at her feet and dozed happily in the warm sunlight. A slight breeze gently rustled the leaves of the great trees, which grew on the dewy grass, inhabited by hundreds of Pidgeys.
“We’ll just wait for these trainers to finish, and then we’ll challenge one, lizard,” Allison said out loud before sinking her teeth into her red apple again.
Allison reached for her mobile phone, checking it for messages from her family and friends.
There were several, surprisingly. Her mother desperate to know if she’d made it safely, her friends claiming how much they missed her and her father bidding her good luck and suggesting they meet up in Slateport City where he was for an extended holiday.
Allison typed out brief replies, telling her mother she was fine, telling her friends she missed them too, she really did, and telling her father she couldn’t wait to see him, before sliding her phone into her pocket.
Out of the corner of her eye she saw a purple body with a tail, assaulting her bag.
What the? Allison thought as she slowly turned to look.
The Pokemon was small, barely a foot tall and bright purple in colour. It had a long tail, two circular ears, whiskers and large, sharp looking front teeth.
Allison knew, from the wild ones that lived in Saffron City that this Pokemon was a Rattata, and had a nasty habit of stealing food from people.
She growled as the Rattata closed its imposing teeth around one of her apples and started to run away.
“HEY!” Allison shouted “Give that back! That’s my apple!” she turned to her Charmander “Stop that Rattata, lizard!”
Charmander immediately jumped into action, keen to show his new trainer what he was capable of and raced after the purple rat Pokemon. When it was close it launched itself and leapt onto the Rattata, scratching its body ferociously.
The Rattata retaliated, tackling Charmander sending it flying for several meters.
Allison whipped out her Pokedex to find a list of Charmander’s moves; ember was one of the first on the list.
“Charmander! Use ember!” Allison called to her Pokemon, which turned to look at her, with a puzzled look on his face.
“Ember! It’s one of your moves!” Allison repeated, keen to see the fire move in action.
Charmander shrugged and launched another scratch attack, the Rattata responded with another tackle, slamming its small body hard into the lizard Pokemon, causing it to cry out in pain.
“Hmmm,” Allison murmured “This Pokemon seems to be pretty tough, we could use it on our team” she mused.
Charmander was now scratching the purple Pokemon again, weakening it, so it could barely tackle Charmander back.
“Charmander! Try ember again!” Allison shouted, still not understanding that Charmander had not yet learned the fire attack, so Charmander again fought using his impressive claws against the Rattata.
“Okay! Good work, lizard!” Allison called, reaching into her brown bag and finding a red and white Pokeball.
“Lets end this!” Allison exclaimed, launching the Pokeball at the Rattata. It landed an inch away from the Pokemon, and opened, a red light transferred the rat Pokemon into the Pokeball, which then snapped promptly shut. The ball wriggled violently, from side to side, Allison held her breath, her long fingers digging into her side, being a Pokemon trainer was so much more exciting then she originally thought, she mused as she waited…

Lauren: Nice! I liked that she kept on screaming ember but he kept on scratching.
Charmander grew to level 6!
You caught a Level 3 Female Rattata? Would you like to name this Pokemon?
September 28th, 2008, 5:33 PM
Allison held her breath as she watched the Pokeball continue to twitch and wriggle, until it finally stopped, declaring her the owner of the Rattata.
“Yes!” Allison exclaimed, racing towards her new Pokemon’s Pokeball and seizing it triumphantly. She then stopped, and composed herself, remembering she was not alone in the clearing.
“Umm, good work Charmander,” she addressed her first Pokemon, turning to look at him “Now lets go and find a battle”
Allison found a trainer standing by himself, after winning his second battle of the day. She approached him with her shoulders back and her chin up, making herself look as tall as possible. The trainer was of average height, and at least a head shorter then Allison, he looked to be about fourteen and had light blonde hair, which he wore under a grey beanie.
“You and me, battle now,” Allison demanded, looking down at him from her great height.
The boy looked her up and down appraisingly, a smirk stretched across his tan face.
“Sure, as long as the battle is followed by a date with you and me,” he replied, grinning.
“Ew, no,” Allison wrinkled her freckled nose in disgust “You’re what, like eleven?”
“Fifteen,” the trainer answered with a wink “So how about it babe?”
“How about you just battle me before my fist connects with your face,” she spat, beginning to feel very annoyed.
“Ooh feisty,” he grinned, “A battle it is” the trainer said reaching for a Pokeball in his pocket.
“Go Spinarak,” he called releasing the green, tiny spider Pokemon. Allison reached for her Pokedex, curious about the trainer’s bug Pokemon.
‘Spinarak- the string spit Pokemon. It sets a trap by spinning a web with thin but strong silk. It waits motionlessly for prey to arrive’
“Huh. A bug Pokemon, guess I’ll use you Charmander,” Allison said, gesturing to the orange Pokemon at her side.
Charmander immediately jumped forward, eager to please his trainer.
“Spinarak, use string shot!” the blonde trainer demanded, rolling the sleeves of his red shirt up his arms.
The spider Pokemon shot a white web out of its mouth, towards Allison’s Charmander
“Quick, Charmander! Dodge it!” Allison instructed, and Charmander leapt out of the attacks way “Good! Now use scratch”
Charmander charged forward and attacked the Spinarak with its formidable claws, weakening its opponent.
“Spinarak, jump away and use your poison sting,” the boy called to his Pokemon.
The green spider Pokemon did as instructed and launched a poison sting from its fangs which connected with Charmander’s face.
“Char-mander char!” the Pokemon cried out in pain, rubbing its face with its clawed hands in pain.
“It’s okay Charmander! Use growl and then scratch the Spinarak one last time!” Allison called, concern for her Pokemon building up in her chest.
The Charmander nodded and growled, intimidating his opponent before leaping onto it scratching the Spinarak fiercely until it fainted.
“Return Spinarak,” the blonde trainer called, still smiling “You win”
Allison smiled a small smile and turned to her Charmander
“Not bad for a lizard,” she praised as it looked up at her adoringly. “I think I’ll call you Izzy from now on,” Allison decided smiling at her Pokemon.
Her opponent approached her, hand forward for Allison to shake.
“Great battle,” he praised “But I expected so from such a pretty girl,” he said with a wink.
Allison rolled her eyes, she was used to getting hit on, even from boys younger than her.
“Thanks,” she said dryly and she turned to walk away when he held out a piece of paper with his name, Billy, and phone number on it.
“Call me,” Billy winked, before turning on his heel and looking for another battle.
Allison shrugged and shoved the paper into her bag, she would never call him and Billy probably knew that. Most of the boys who gave her their numbers did.
Allison made her way back onto the trail of Route 101 and began to amble along it, feeling tired and hungry.

Mira could think of nothing else to say as she stared at the Pokeball. She had caught a Pidgey. On her first try! She beamed at Squirtle, "Great job!" she exclaimed, finally putting her newly caught Pidgey on her belt. Squirtle smiled back, showing off a cunning smile.
The air was now thick with excitement. It seemed like her adventure had really started the moment that Pidgey was caught. She had whispered to the shiny ball, "I'll call you Bram," and really felt like a trainer in those few seconds. After naming one Pokemon she felt like Squirtle needed a name too. As they walked along, Squirtle skipping in a rather intimidating way, she thought long and hard about a name for him. Her peaceful thoughts were quickly interrupted by a arrogant voice beckoning her. Mira might have ignored the stranger had it not been a challenge.
"Hey! You're a trainer? Let's go, sweet cheeks!" a rather cocky young man stood off to her right, looking very much excited as though she were the first to cross his path all day. He looked to be around her age, standing at least a head taller than she, with windblown chestnut hair and light blue eyes. The eyes were narrowed, waiting for an answer to his snide remarks.
"Sweet cheeks?" Mira repeated through clenched teeth. Being a blond was anything but fun, especially a pretty one. You got remarks like this too many times to count. Squirtle stopped in his tracks to observe the humans curiously.
"Yeah, you heard me! Now what do you say to a battle?" he said, unaffected by the daggers she was shooting with her eyes. Usually one glare from Mira would turn anyone off, but this guy was just too stubborn.
Now she couldn't resist.
"Sure," she smirked, "But I must tell you I'm pretty experienced," she lied. Sure she had read a lot about Pokemon, but practice taught so much more than theory. Mira watched closely to see if he took the bait. She glanced quickly at her Squirtle, hoping he'd play along.
"Oh really? We'll see about that!" he said. "Let's go Geodude!" he yelled, throwing a Pokeball. Mira took out her Pokedex to see what she was dealing with.
Geodude. Rock type. It is impossible to distinguish from rocks. It slams against others in contests of hardness.
"All right Squirtle, let's go!" Mira called. Immediately, the turtle Pokemon sprang into action. "Tackle!"
"Geodude, now, Defense Curl!" the young man shouted. As Squirtle made his impact, the Geodude curled up, minimizing the damage. "Now Tackle back!"
"Watch out!" Mira exclaimed. Squirtle was getting to his feet, recovering from slamming against rock, when Geodude came right at him. Swiftly he moved, receiving only minimal damage as well. "Come on! Tail Whip!" called Mira, thinking defensively. It was executed beautifully.
Even with his defense down, the Geodude managed to hit Squirtle. "Squirrrrt!" he called as his body was forced many yards back. "Hang in there buddy! Tackle now!" said Mira. A full body blow hit the Geodude before it knew what was coming to him. "Again!" Mira ground her teeth, knowing she needed to end this quickly. Again the opponent was hit with full force. "Finish him!"
The last blow did it. It must have been a low level Geodude, Mira thought. Her challenger look awestruck at the results. "But...HOW?!?" he knelt next to his Pokemon.
"Told ya I was pretty good," Mira winked. "Now what's your name so I can tell everyone about my great victory?"
"You have no mercy do you?" the trainer laughed, slightly amused now, and returning Geodude to its Pokeball.
"Nope. None," she joked back. She gave Squirtle a pat on the head and picked him up. She'd carry him the rest of the way to the next town.
"The name is Nathan. Thanks for the battle," he said, sincerely grateful, "I was so bored!"
"No problem," Mira shrugged, "Now, if you don't mind Nat, I must be going." She waved half heartedly and turned her back on him, Squirtle riding on her shoulders. Once the town was in sight it dawned on her. At the sight of the Pokemon Center, Squirtle sighed but remained composed. "I think I have a name for you," she told him. He looked at her, unblinking, waiting patiently for her to continue.
"I'm going to call you Bruce. It's a strong name. You know, for a strong Pokemon," she smiled. Squirtle -I mean, Bruce- seemed to like that very much. He nodded approvingly. "You're lucky. You had a say in your name," she laughed, her footsteps much lighter now. "Now let's go get you healed."

September 30th, 2008, 7:23 PM
Allison slowly made her way through Route 101 and into Oldale Town, a place she had read about in school. From her own knowledge, Allison remembered the place to be peaceful and full of friendly people, this was however, not the case Allison thought as she looked around the small town.
There were the grey, doglike Pokemon at every single corner, growling at everyone who passed.
Allison whipped her Pokedex out again, hoping to discover some information about these Pokemon, which she had already defeated.
Poochyena, the bite Pokemon. This Pokemon has a persistent nature, it chases its chosen prey until its prey becomes exhausted.
Wow, that’s lovely, Allison thought, feeling a shiver pass down her spine. She looked for the Pokemon Centre, only to find a crowd of people gathered outside.
“Oh great, people,” Allison growled before crossing the town to the Centre, in hope of having her two Pokemon healed.
She then noticed the podium on a raised platform, just as the man stood up to it. He was very tall, and had purple hair slicked back and wore a long overcoat. The crowd became very tense, until he cleared his throat and began to talk.
"Do not worry, citizens and trainers of Odale! We are only going to be here for a while. I, Mr. Kade, am the leader of team Alpha. We are here because of Prof. Willow. She has 3 eggs that we need to study. Until we have her research and eggs, then the following places will be locked down. The Pokecenter, The Pokemart, the West Side of Residential, and Route 103, and 104. Have a nice day."
Immediately, mutters of outrage erupted through the crowd of trainers and citizens, with many of them crying out about the close Pokemon Centre.
Allison joined in and spat “This is ridiculous! I will get my Pokemon healed!”
And she pushed her way through the crowd towards the massive doors of the Pokemon Centre.
Two trainers, dressed alike in uniforms stood at the door, guarding it with their Poochyena’s.
“What is the meaning of this?” Allison demanded of them, squaring her shoulders and drawing herself up to her full height.
“You heard the boss,” the taller one replied, leering “We’ve closed the town off until further notice. But, having you stick around doesn’t bother me much, babe”
Allison rolled her eyes and balled her fists up by her side, she was angry enough to hit them, that was for sure. She was hungry and tired, and just wanted to get her Pokemon healed before Christmastime.
“Firstly, if you hit on me again, I will hit on you… With my fists. Repeatedly. Secondly, I do not care about your ‘boss’, I care about getting into the Pokemon Centre, NOW!” Allison shouted, practically foaming at the mouth. By her side, her Charmander Izzy shifted his stance, ready to battle.
“If that’s how you want it,” the other trainer replied, smirking “Go Poochyena! Use tackle!” he shouted and the grey, doglike Pokemon leapt forward and slammed his body into Izzy’s.
“This is how I want it,” Allison retorted, reaching for her only other Pokeball.
“Go Rattata, attack the other Poochyena with a tackle. Izzy, use scratch on the other one!” Allison demanded and both of her Pokemon launched their attacks, the purple rat Pokemon slammed her body into the smaller Poochyena and Izzy used his formidable claws on the body of the other Poochyena.
“Ooh, she thinks she’s as tough as she is pretty,” the taller trainer sneered, “Poochyena use tackle again!” he called to his Pokemon.
“Izzy, dodge it, and then both of you attack him at the same time!” Allison instructed, her pulse racing. The Charmander leapt out of the way of the Poochyena’s attack and then scratched it ferociously, weakening it. Finally, the Rattata jumped in, tackling the grey dog Pokemon to the ground, causing it to faint.
“Maybe, she’s tougher than she looks,” the taller trainer murmured “I’m going to go warn the others,” he said before, fleeing into the Pokemon Centre.
“You may’ve gotten rid of him easy, but don’t be so sure you’ll do the same with me,” the other trainer growled, mimicking his Pokemon “Poochyena use your tackle on the rat!”
“Rattata, dodge it, and then use a tail whip!” Allison called, eager to get past this trainer.
Her Rattata jumped out of the Poochyena’s way and then executed a perfect tail whip, followed by a tackle, causing the Poochyena to also faint.
“Right, I’m getting out of here too!” her opponent cried, following the other trainer into the Pokemon Centre.
“Good work guys,” Allison murmured “You stay here with me, I don’t know what we’re going to find in here,” she told them, her voice quavering slightly as the trio stepped into the building.
