August 21st, 2009, 6:04 PM
Thanks, guys. ^_^

Here's another character of mine, this time a squirrel named Benny.

August 22nd, 2009, 2:32 PM
One of my best friends from high school had these two pink stuffed animals named Bear and Eli. Respectively, they were a bear and an elephant. So after she made a short play script for our Children's Theater class based off of the two toys, I thought about what they would look like as cartoons. The result was this.

August 25th, 2009, 2:00 AM
wow you seem to got skill. hu i wonder how far you may want to go because far you can.

August 29th, 2009, 5:51 PM
Thanks for the comments everybody! And yes, I'll keep posting as much as I can.

Here's some more doodles of my characters. now a duo called the mongoose and the cobra.
The cobra and mongoose is what happens when I'm loose watching cartoons like "Tom and Jerry" or "Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner". But these two are different. Really!

I got inspiration for these two after watching Animal Planet and saw a mongoose and a cobra fight in real life. Most of the time, the mongoose is the winner of these fights but here, the cobra actually has the winning streak.^_^

In short, the mongoose is a real jerk. He's extremely pugnacious, but easily wimps out if he winds up fighting something bigger, like a tiger or a python.
The cobra, on the other hand, is extremely timid. He's absolutely terrified of the mongoose and would rather run than fight. This more peaceful personality allows him to make easy friends with some other animals, though some are reluctant...

The point of this series is to hopefully have people change their thoughts on snakes. In reality, most snakes are like this cobra - they don't want to fight or bite. They just want to be left in peace.

This is a drawing of my mouse character, Ralph, around the world.

The countries represented are, in order: America (Ralph's normal outfit), Mexico, Brazil, United Kingdom (England), France, Germany, Spain, Russia, India, China, Canada, Australia, Antarctica, Polynesian islands, Norway, and Japan. :D

September 4th, 2009, 4:24 PM
You have some really sweet stuff here. ^^ I love the simplicity of them, and they all look so cute. ^^
I'd love to see some coloured versions of these characters. ^^

September 4th, 2009, 9:44 PM
wow, these are incredible.
you have a lot of talent.

September 6th, 2009, 7:23 PM
wow these are amazing!
i can't really say that much
there just that good!

September 8th, 2009, 2:16 PM
Aww, geez. They're not that good... ^_^ (with blushed cheeks )

I figured since this thread got popular so fast, maybe I could post some new drawings:

Some Ralph drawings before i added a shirt collar and bow tie to him.

A new character: Chilé the chinchilla!

Another new star: Gordon the Irish capuchin monkey.

Some conceptual drawings of Dr. Suess' "The Cat in the Hat" in my own drawing style. I bet I ruined it for some die-hard Suess fans! XD

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~
September 9th, 2009, 5:38 PM
more from the amazing Pikachu2007 =]
I really, really love it. I really wasn't found to Dr. Suess anyways lol

September 9th, 2009, 6:17 PM
I still can't get over how amazing these are. How did you get so good?
Did you take drawing classes?

September 10th, 2009, 2:17 AM
Wow nice job...it fascinates me why some people are so good at drawing... me I can't draw even if my life depended on it.

September 10th, 2009, 1:57 PM
I still can't get over how amazing these are. How did you get so good?
Did you take drawing classes?

Well, if you must know... :)

1.) I've actually been drawing my whole life. I've taken a few classes here and there, but I really love drawing so much that I'll try to improve mine anyway I can.

2.) A lot of my inspiration comes from watching American cartoons from the 1940's & 1950's. I've made a blog that highlights a few gems from the Golden Age of Animation from Looney Tunes, Disney, MGM (where Tom and Jerry were made), and Universal studios (where Woody Woodpecker comes from). You can see part of where I get my inspiration here:

This is exactly how walt disney started with a pad and an awesome mind.

September 13th, 2009, 9:15 AM
Awesome. :)
It's just too bad that more than 3/4 of the newest cartoons don't respect things as good as this. Now, seeing all the crap Cartoon Network has and this; it makes me so angry. How come everything is just getting dumber and dumber?
It would be great to see you bring the classics back to life. Those were the best. Maybe you should learn to animate them and re-do the classicness? XD Anyway, all the negative stuff aside, this is great. I can't give any critique because overall, it's too good and I don't draw like this. Greatness!

September 13th, 2009, 10:21 AM
I love how you drew these! I just really like the sort of scetchy look.

September 14th, 2009, 3:38 PM
Very good work, very well the personaje, continues this way

September 17th, 2009, 7:46 PM
Wow. So many wonderful comments from my own pals here. Thank you all so much! ^_^

Here's my rendition of the lovable Pillsbury dough-boy.

Some more Benny drawings. These were from before I gave him a shirt. :)

I also like to come up with some stories for my characters, like this one called, "Pint-Sized Pachyderm". Here, two bums, Fred the crocodile and Lenny the hippo read an ad in the newspaper about a $50000 prize for catching the world's smallest elephant. So the two travel to Africa and try to make a catch, but fail with each attempt. When they finally catch the little elephant, they find out there's a smaller one they missed!

If you ever want more, just say so. ;)

September 17th, 2009, 9:26 PM
Holy shamolies these are good. You are insanely awesome! Hey, I noticed that all of your characters are either mammals or reptiles, ever consider drawing a bird or frog or fish or something(besides the fish in the Dr. Seus set)?

September 18th, 2009, 7:46 AM
I actually just invented a bird character a few weeks ago. A puffin, in fact! So I'll post him as soon as I can. ;)

September 18th, 2009, 8:33 PM
The mices is so adorable. If tome and jerry would use those, I'd sobe squeeing over them , especially the eyes!

September 18th, 2009, 8:44 PM
Oh emm gee these drawings look awesome! Post more! We want more!

PS: You have some serious skill here.

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~
September 19th, 2009, 7:27 AM
you even made the Pillsbury dough-boy look super cool in these pictures, great job

September 20th, 2009, 6:24 PM
I know, I was supposed to post my bird character, but I got busy with school work today and forgot to scan photos today. I hope these will work instead until I can get him! :)

"The Oddball Ducking"

Based on Hans Christian Anderson's "The Ugly Duckling" story, only with a platypus that immediately gets rejected by his foster parents and siblings, but goes through trial and error to find his own kind and acceptance in the end.

It's supposed to be a heart-warmer with no dialogue at all. Instead, the short is driven with music and actions to set the mood.

These are some pretty old sketches I had of a story for Ralph called, "The Nutty Pipsqueaks". Here, a old zoo elephant has a butt load of peanuts, but not eager to share them. Ralph finds a peanut and tries to get away with a few, but before he can, the old elephant sees him and blasts him out of his exhibit.

Benny the squirrel also finds out about the peanuts, but winds up the same way Ralph did, getting kicked out. Then the two meet and decide to hatch up a plan to get even with the pompous pachyderm.

Much more in the future! ;)

September 24th, 2009, 12:25 AM
you should practice more!

September 24th, 2009, 1:04 PM
Here's some new doodles for everyone. :)

These are Siamese cats. I thought about making this guy a star character, but I can't think of a good name for him. Can someone help me with this? :)

As promised, here's my newest idea, Pete Puffin. You'll also see his arch-nemesis, an unnamed Arctic fox and Ralph with a snow parka! ^_^

oh i love the new ones(:
they're amazing

September 26th, 2009, 4:38 PM
Thanks everyone. I especially want to thank you, Tatsujin Gosuto, because you always have something great to say about these drawings and they really help make my day a little better, so tanks again, TG.
(By the way, I really like how you sign everything you post with your initials and a Banette. I always thought that was cool. :))

Oh yeah! I thought about what to post next and the result was a few of my own fanmade Pokemon. I was wondering if that should be next? What do you guys think?

No problem and thanks for the compliment
but not only you can do fan made Pokemon, but you can try Shaymin (I know it's random, but it just popped in my head since I'm looking at my Shaymin Plushie), or any other Pokemon that isn't complicated to draw

September 29th, 2009, 12:57 PM
Allrighty! I finally got my Pokemon doodles up!
http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/7311/img010hl.th.jpg (http://img41.imageshack.us/i/img010hl.jpg/)
Here I have Pachirisu, Togepi, Azurill, Pikachu, Pichu, and as requested: Shaymin with three Pokemon I made up. They are:

Type: Electric/Flying
Ability: Static/Pickup
Evolution: Final form of Pachirisu (Level up after learning U-Turn)
Origin: Sorisu is based on a flying squirrel while keeping a few traits from Pachirisu
Name: Sorisu is a combination of sor, which is Japanese for "air" and risu, Japanese for "squirrel"
Pokedex: With it's new wings, Sorisu can now find food easily by gliding from tree to tree. It stores food inside trees.

Type: Electric/Ground
Ability: Static/Pickup
Evolution: Final form of Pachirisu (Level up after learning Dig)
Origin: Yochirisu is based on a prairie dog while keeping a few traits from Pachirisu
Name: Yochirisu is a combination of yochi, a Japanese word for "earth" and risu, Japanese for "squirrel"
Pokedex: This is a very social Pokemon that warns others of danger by crackling electricty. They live in underground metropolises.

Type: Water/Bug
Ability: Wonder Guard/Hibernation
Evolution: Does not evolve
Origin: Mizuma is based on a water bear mixed with a teddy bear
Name: Mizuma is two Japanese words for "water" and "bear".
Pokedex: If conditions aren't favorable, then it curls up into a ball and hibernates until everything is better. It can stay in this state for over a century.

Oh yeah, Hibernation is a new ability exclusive to Mizuma. If Mizuma is asleep for whatever reason, then Mizuma is protected from attacks until it wakes up.

And yes, I know that they aren't perfect, but hey, it's my own drawing style. ^_^

The way you did Shaymin is the real way I think it should look like in my opinion, brilliant job with these Pokemon and fakemon drawing

September 29th, 2009, 5:13 PM
:3 I love your cartoonish style. Seriously, it's better than most cartoons I've seen on TV nowadays. I've been watching your art for quite some time (since you've posted them, I mean), but I've never really commented on them until now.

And your pokemon and fakemon are positively awesome. I'd like to see you do more pokemon, but it's your choice!

Wow, amazing job with these newest pics as always! If i could draw that good, I would go into cartooning, seriously! I love your fakemon, and I was surprised to see a fellow human being that knew what a water bear was XD!

October 8th, 2009, 3:22 PM
Thanks everyone for the comments. :)
Now for a treat for y'all looking at this thread: new doodles!

"Bathtime for Eli"

It's bath day for Bear and Eli. After Bear finishes hers, it's time for Eli's. One small problem: Eli hates taking baths and tries to get out of taking it. Bear, however, tries to get him to take the bath, but fails. Will Eli ever get clean?

More Siamese cats with Ralphie. Still haven't thought of a name for the cat yet...

This is probably what SpongeBob would look like if I was working for Nickelodeon right now.

This one is supposed to be me as a cartoon. ^_^

Much more to come next time! ;)

October 9th, 2009, 7:10 AM
You should make a comic or a cartoon!!!Awsome work.

October 9th, 2009, 8:11 AM
Goodness, your work is so awesome. Bear and Eli are too adorable, they're probably my favorites so far.
I'd give you criticism, but this kind of art has no boundaries or standards in my mind.
More Siamese cats with Ralphie. Still haven't thought of a name for the cat yet...
I think the cat looks like a Lionel. :D

October 10th, 2009, 7:14 PM
I think the cat looks like a Lionel. :D

I actually like that name! Lionel it is. ^_^

Again, thank you everyone for comments. I appreciate all of the nice things everyone says, but now and then a critique won't hurt. All it can do for any artist is to improve his/her work. :)

That said, I fund some old drawings for a Benny squirrel story I had in mind.

Benny works at a "Guess-Your-Weight" stand at a carnival. He's not getting a lot of business, so when he sees an ad for a rabbit assistant to a much more popular magician, he takes full advantage of it! When he gets the job, Benny pretty much heckles the hapless magician until his "ears" fall off. Then the prognosticator gets even with the maniacal rodent!

Benny: Benny has a usually happy, up-beat persona. He may be a wee bit nuts, but he has brains and uses them to an advantage. Benny has lots of energy and heckles other people if there's a good reason for it or just for fun. Either way, Benny's one of the funnest characters I ever made and he'll be loads of fun to animate in the future.

October 10th, 2009, 7:18 PM
I love them! They're really good. I like the elephant a lot.

The Jewel of Life
October 11th, 2009, 7:22 PM
Wow, all of these are very cute! I especially liked the one of Benny right after his "ears" fell off. Nice!

As for criticism, I really don't think I have anything that I could say... these are all so good! They could use a little color though...

October 23rd, 2009, 1:17 PM
Thanks for the comments, guys!

@Comet: I'd love to give you colored pics, but it's kind of hard since I'm having trouble coming up with colors for some characters, like Benny. I'm not sure whether to make him brown, gray, or red-orange or whatever. But I'll make a colored doodle asap. ^_^

Anyway, here are some new stories for y'all. (Two of them would be good for Halloween)

"Dr. Jerkyll and Mr. Ralph"

In this story, Lionel (the Siamese cat) is chasing Ralph in an apartment-like complex. Ralph makes his way inside a door that says "Dr. Jekyll" and tries to hide inside a bottle that says "Hyde Formula". This turns him into a Godzilla-like monster and pretty much scares Lionel out of his fur. Just when things turn out good for Ralph, he changes back to normal and the chase goes on. Just as the cat catches the mouse, Ralphie turns back into the monster. In the end we fin ut that Lionel was just dreaming and freaks out again when he sees Ralph in his normal form.

"One Flew Over the Monkey's Nest
An acorn falls hits Benny's head hard enough to give him amnesia. This prompts him to actually start acting nice towards his nemesis, Gordon the monkey. Gordo likes the new squirrel at first, but when Benny starts popping up in random places in the monkey's house he finds Benny more annoying than before and pretty much loses his mind. This makes Gordo want to turn Benny back to normal, whatever it takes.

"Eli's New Pet"

After Bear and Eli's "mother", Suzy, tells them about her getting a new puppy, Eli becomes disheartened because now he wants a pet of his very own. Felling sorry for him, Bear suggests they go to the pet store to look. They argue about whether to get a kitten or a puppy. When no one was looking, all the animals escape and it's up to Bear and Eli to get them back to the store. In the end, Bear surprises Eli with a brand new puppy.

You have some really adorable characters here with a wide spectrum of comical and heartwarming emotions. Perhaps you should try drawing bigger and on unlined paper. Cleaning up your lineart would be nice too, either through inking or practicing a light touch to initial sketches and gradually building your final up.

I'd really like to see some coloured pieces too. Keep it up!

November 1st, 2009, 8:10 PM
Thanks for the advice Foxtrot! I'll be sure to do that next time. ;)

That said here are two new drawings I forgot to post earlier. Just pencil and paper for now. I'll be sure to get colored ones next time! Promise! :)
These are drawings of Lionel, Ralph, Benny, and an idea I had for a slap-happy ghost named Spooky Cookie, the cartoon ghost of Harry Carray.

Ralph doodles. I love the one on the bottom-right corner the most. ^_^

November 1st, 2009, 8:25 PM
I really, really love it when artists put expression into their artwork, it gives it a lively personality and a style that only the artist possesses. That's what I really love about cartoon art/styles, they are loose and you can do alot with them, and yours has such a pristine, expressive quality to it.
I adore what you've posted up here so far, keep on drawing; you have a lot of potential!

November 24th, 2009, 3:44 PM
Thanks for your thoughtful critique, Lily! It's been greatly appreciated. ^_^

Sorry about not posting anything in a while. College has got me busy! XD
Anyway, here are some brand-spankin' new drawings for you guys! I just got colored pencils today, so I'll recolor a few and re-post them here.

Here are the puppets of comedian and ventriloquist, Jeff Dunham, with a caricature of Dunham himself.

In honor of thier return to Cartoon Network, here's the Looney Tunes gang

Remember Fred and Lenny from earlier? Here's some new drawings of them with a new aspect: instead of being bums, now they're animal catchers who' jobs are to catch rare and elusive animals for the zoo-going children of the world. However, they fail with each attempt to catch their animal.

Ralph with some French taunting meerkats and a very old character of mine, Orville the pigeon.

Ralph and Gordon with a special guest appearance by Mickey Mouse! :O

A promo image for my show, "A Day at the Zoo". It's a variety show that features the adventures of Ralph, Benny, Bear & Eli, and all your favorites in a full hour show featuring several seven-minute long short cartoons of different characters. I even found a nice theme song for the show, so I'll post the music with this image later. :D

Again, comments and critiques are much appreciated here. Thank you. :)

November 24th, 2009, 7:00 PM
Your art is amazing! I love your cartoon style a lot. The different expressions and poses you draw for your characters a great!!! :D

Amazing drawings!

November 24th, 2009, 8:53 PM
I've only watched Jeff Dunham once, but it was pretty fun to watch. I love your Achmed. SHUT UP! I KILL YOU! Man, they're all awesome in your style.

And yay, you drew the Looney Tunes! Gotta love the classics!

I love how you base your style on the older slapstick cartoons. Those were the days, indeed.

And, yes, it would be fun to see all your drawings in color.

December 3rd, 2009, 7:33 PM
Thanks very much for your thoughts, folks.

Oh yeah! I mentioned a possible theme song for my show. Here it is:

The song is "Animal Magic" by Laurie Johnson. Also called "Las Vegas".
So, what do you guys think? Good song or no?

December 4th, 2009, 10:17 AM
I adore your art style, it's so cute and cartoony! I adore it, it looks very professional, and I love how classic these pics look.

Lovely work! I would love to see more. :)

December 4th, 2009, 7:56 PM
Thanks, Moskau. :)

Here are three new drawings and one nice surprise!

"Treading on Hot Water"

Fred and Lenny go to the Amazon to catch a basilisk, a type of lizard famous for running on water. Unlike all of the other animals they try to catch, this one WANTS to be with the two animal collectors. Why?

It turns out that the basilisk they catch is a female and winds up having a crush on Fred. She even goes out of her way to hug, kiss, or dance with him even if he can't walk on water. Will her love last? Or will the dwarf crocodile have to break the ice?

Meet Rocky, a raccoon who plays as another one of Benny's sneaky and deceiving rivals. Unlike Gordon, who loses his temper quite a bit, Rocky is more composed, almost as smooth as a movie gangster almost. Unlike Gordon, Rocky is not very stubborn. He also seems to underestimate Benny's intelligence a lot with a very cocky attitude, even if Benny kicks his butt with his energetic antics.

Rocky is actually based on the song, "Rocky Raccoon", by the Beatles. To add to the joke, he talks in a Liverpool accent like John Lennon or Ringo Starr.

The promo image from before. Now in glorious COLOR! :D

Trust me, there's much more to come! :D

December 4th, 2009, 8:03 PM
