Has anyone ever said that to you, or you've said it?

Not "Oh My God", but literally "OMG". What do you think about people saying it to you?

April 9th, 2010, 11:16 AM
I've heard it said to me loads of times and I've used it a couple of times too.
I think people use it when they are shocked or amazed about something, that they've done or has happened.
I don't mind it, just not when it is used too much.

No. I hate it when people use text-speak in real life conversations.

mondays suck

I have noticed that I am using omg irl quite a lot, but it took me a while to do so. I have tried and succeeded in getting rid of the bad habitude of lol-ing, but this one has stayed. Probably because there are a lot more occassions to say lol than to say omg, so that one was unnoticed.
I even caught myself saying omfg, but I never actually used the full form of it. Probably because it does less sound like a curse.

Some preppy girl at school ALWAYS says it.

I hate it.

I think it shows you spend way too much time on the computer or texting. :O

I never say 'oh my god' straight out as 'OMG' and I find it really annoying when I hear other people say it. I do say 'brb' though when I want to be obnoxious and stupid. :3

I really dislike using it Irl, and only use it online. I never use Text Speak Irl , but some I use online all the time. (Like just now XD)

I hear it on a daily basis in high school. It was annoying, but I'm so used to it that it doesn't bother me anymore.

April 9th, 2010, 5:46 PM
People actually do that?

If I heard someone say that I would have a hard time not laughing. A really hard time.

April 9th, 2010, 6:34 PM
I say it a lot only when I'm online. Like OMG or omg. When I read it aloud, I saw O.M.G., but offline I probably say "Oh my gosh" more. If I ever speak IM when I'm not online it's when I say "L.O.L" if something is funny, but not funny enough to laugh at literally. As for other people though, I'm glad I don't come across many (very few) who say O.M.G. It's annoying to hear that all the time, but yeah, I don't hang around many people who do that.

April 9th, 2010, 6:50 PM
No one has, thankfully. If they did, I'd make a point to laugh at them afterwards. xD;

I hate that term.

Saying 'ohmygod' is fine, and when I type out 'omg', my mind reads it out as 'oh my god'. It's kind of like how I read out 'RP' as 'roleplay', but actually saying "oh em gee" is totally lame, and I hate it. xD; Don't mean to offend anyone who says it.. just.. ugh. It annoys me, because it sounds so.. stupid.

April 9th, 2010, 8:26 PM
Thankfully not, but a friend once mistakenly said "El-Oh-El" xD

April 10th, 2010, 5:11 AM
Girls say that around here a lot. It's pretty annoying

April 10th, 2010, 10:40 AM
Too many girls say that at my school. it so damn irritating sometimes...

April 10th, 2010, 10:43 AM
People say it like "OH EM GEE" in real life?

I only hear it when people are just joking around. oAo

April 10th, 2010, 10:57 AM
I used to know people who did, it was pretty annoying. I think they grew up a bit XD, though, because I only hear it when someone's being sarcastic.

April 10th, 2010, 12:16 PM
I only say it to be sarcastic or to mock it.

April 10th, 2010, 4:57 PM
I've heard people say this a lot, I think it's really annoying. Save it for the computer, not in real life convos -_-

April 10th, 2010, 5:23 PM
omg! Why, yes. I actually use this abbreviation more than the actual words.

April 10th, 2010, 5:44 PM
I sometimes say it for the irony, since people think of me as often being strict and difficult when it comes to conversational language. Otherwise, not many people use it where I live. Sometimes another girl might say it for the funzies like I do, though.

April 10th, 2010, 8:22 PM
I don't say it as "OMG", I say it as "Oh my god". Now I don't mind when people use "OMG" instead, as long as they don't run it into the ground. xD

April 14th, 2010, 4:49 PM
This sounds like something I would say as a complete joke. But in seriousness, no, I don't like using the term. And I really...haven't heard of anyone else really using it, either.

April 14th, 2010, 6:33 PM
I don't really like text talk, I think it's annoying when you recieve messages like "hii did u liek tha fing" or however they are structured. I make exceptions for abbreviations like "omg" but it's annoying hearing it in real life, it's been said to me in a real life conversation on a number of occasions, I'm starting to get a little fed up of it.

April 14th, 2010, 6:37 PM
I used to hear it in middle school, but not so much in HS right now...and I'm glad. I don't really mind, but when it's overused, then that's when it gets annoying.

April 14th, 2010, 7:14 PM
I say it all the time. Its faster.

April 14th, 2010, 7:18 PM
I say it for the lulz. Never seriously. I'll say stuff like "lulz, lawlz, lol, rofl (roffle), ect." in real life as well jokingly. Never would I ever say it while being completely serious though.

April 15th, 2010, 1:46 PM
I actually say it in class. For some reason, I don't feel comfortable saying 'god' in class. xD

I hardly get it, though. xD

April 15th, 2010, 1:51 PM
I don't like text talk in real life. It make me think that the person is too often near a computer. Like me! XD

April 15th, 2010, 1:56 PM
Yes people say that to me. When, they say it I say " What." " What happened?"

April 15th, 2010, 5:04 PM
Some girls in my grade say it..

It gets very annoying x___o
