I might try this on my LG emulator. I still haven't decided who to use though :(

October 1st, 2011, 8:41 PM
I'm back, and since I don't feel like finishing (or even starting) my Zangoose run on White, I decided to start a brand new USC! This time, using another underused 3rd Gen Pokemon:

Devonshire, the Sableye
(free cookie to whoever gets the reference in the name)

I have a feeling that this one will be the toughest.

At least, I did before I actually started the run. I'm already past Brock AND Misty, without breaking a sweat. Devonshire is a boss. He's already level 30.

October 2nd, 2011, 11:11 AM
I'll join playing left green with a Pidgey solo run

Journal 1 : Started the game and all the starters were changed to pidgey for the sake of this run.
Named myself BOB and my rival POP.
Easily defeated my rival. Made my way to viridian city and got oak's parcel.
Then I leveled my pidgey to level 13 for brock's gym.
Got lost a few times in viridian forest looking for items.
Caught a caterpie for hm use. Also caught another pidgey for hm use as well.
Made it to brocks gym and lost twice then I finally beat him after enough trouble.
then I made it to Mt. Moon and aught a geodude for hm use.
Got to cerulean city and saved the game for the day.

October 2nd, 2011, 2:06 PM
And in the course of only two hours, Devonshire the Sableye has now dominated four more Gyms, triumphed over Team Rocket two more times, and kicked my rival's ass thrice over. My premonition of high difficulty was grossly misplaced; either that, or perhaps I haven't quite gotten to the challenging part.

Present Summary:
Devonshire, the level 69 Mild Natured Sableye
HP: 179
Attack: 130
Defense: 122
Sp. Attack: 129
Sp. Defense: 99
Speed: 109
Faint Attack
Mega Punch
Shadow Ball

BTW, I figured it would be tougher because Sableye isn't exactly very strong, nor does it have the largest move-pool. Even with its lack of weaknesses, it has pretty bad stats all around. But currently, Devonshire is proving my theory wrong, so I dunno. Maybe it is much better at battling than I first guessed.

Hey guys, after nearly 7 months, I've finally updated the OP! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Congratulations to all who have been added to the champions list.

In other news, I've taken out the challengers list. I just feel that about 50% of the people who sign up for this challenge never finish it. So, once you finish the challenge, I'll give you credit. Sometime.

In other news, I'm still trying to solo all the fully evolved pokemon for RBY. I can't do all of them because I use the speed button, and at 5000% speed, I will inevitably miss a b button and it will evolve. But yea, doing the fully evolved ones.

Edit: Well, did Raticate in about an hour and a half. Not too shabby. I fought a lot more trainers than usual. Here's the final screenie.
His moves were Dig, Body Slam (PP UP'd), Ice Beam, and Thunderbolt.

Hey, glad to see this thread finally updated! Although it seems you've missed my recent posts about my Sableye Ultimate Solo Challenge. Which, might I mention, is now onto it's second leg, as I have just finished destroying Kanto's Elite Four.

Summary: Got the last few badges, which was extremely easy, and conquered Victory Road. However, Lorelei kept screwing me up (Confuse Ray, Sweet Kiss, and Attract are all cheap and dirty tricks), and I had to go back, train a bit more, hype up on Rare Candies, and teach Devonshire Shock Wave, and even still I barely squeaked past her. The rest of the E4 was way too easy in comparison, Bruno, Agatha, and Lance all fell with no trouble. The rival battle was anti-climactic when I look at how hard Lorelei was.

Either way, FR is done, HG/SS is up next!

Final summary:
Devonshire, the level 90 Mild Sableye
HP: 228
Attack: 166
Defense: 156
Sp. Attack: 165
Sp. Defense: 126
Speed: 140
Faint Attack
Shock Wave
Shadow Ball

Nah, didn't miss that. I've decided to do the challenge a bit differently. Due to the high percentage of people who sign up for a challenge and don't ever finish it, I've decided to only update your status if you've completed the game. For normal challenges, you'll get on the list once you're done with the challenge. For ultimates, I'll put you under the Kanto list once you've finished that region. Think of it as a 'done through' whatever list your name's on. So, I'll add you to the Kanto list now.

Did another one today. He knew Drill Peck, Razor Wind, Fly, and Fury Attack.

Ah, that makes sense. And it keeps those who aren't committed from cluttering up the list.

Anyways, I WAS going to update after I beat Bugsy, but I accidentally kept going up until beating Jasmine. That speed button is really handy, you know.

Current status in my Soul Silver portion:
6 Gyms beaten
Taking on Team Rocket's Secret Base
Devonshire, the Level 44 Adamant(hard nature to use for him) Sableye
HP: 109
Attack: 100
Defense: 77
Sp. Attack: 70
Sp. Defense: 78
Speed: 67
Power Gem
Shadow Claw

Another update on the fly here:
Current Status:
Game: Soul Silver
Badges: 8
Just beat the E4 and Lance, ready to start the Kanto leg of SS
Side Note: The whole E4 was easy up til Karen, due to Devonshire not knowing any attacks that worked well against Dark Types. Lance's Gyarados actually caused the most problems, though his three Dragonites were no pushovers. Charizard and Aerodactyl were no trouble though.
Devonshire, the Level 65 Adamant Sableye
HP: 160
Attack: 150
Defense: 115
Sp. Attack: 104
Sp. Defense: 116
Speed: 105

Since my hacking skills are a complete faillure, I'm going to try out an easier run.

Hey, good luck with that. As a guy who has done this already, I know it's pretty tough. Here's a little tip: even if you don't use stat boosting moves normally, keep Swords Dance. One or two of those before each Gym Leader/E4 member helps SO much.

Little update on my Sableye run, got back the machine part from that Rocket guy from Unova and beat Misty with no trouble. Not much changed with Devonshire's stats, so no stat update is necessary IMO.

October 8th, 2011, 6:25 PM
Ima sign up for this, since I just cleared out my Black version for it :3

Game: Black
Pokemon: Cottonee/Whimsicott

EDIT: Um... well, I'm currently at the second gym, but I seem to have gotten myself into a small predicament... it seems I overlevelled my Cottonee and she refuses to obey, so would I be able to use a second Pokemon to get my second gym badge(then my Cottonee should obey after that) or do I have to tough it out? ...It doesn't seem possible that I could beat Lenora with a Cottonee that won't obey... :S

October 11th, 2011, 8:25 AM
Finished Sandslash, started Nidoran F.

October 11th, 2011, 10:27 AM
Final Update on SS Run:
Blaine was easy, so was Blue. Although Blue did give me a run for my money. Got Devonshire to level 91 before taking on Red.

Red was a TOTAL pain, especially since it seemed that all of his Pokemon could use Blizzard. Lapras was worst, even with Devonshire's Brick Break. Every time it got anywhere near the red, Full Restores came flying out of Red's bottomless bag. I swear he used at least 4 on that thing.

Devonshire, the Level 91 Adamant Sableye
HP: 220
Attack: 209
Defense: 159
Sp. Attack: 144
Sp. Defense: 160
Speed: 145
Zen Headbutt
Shadow Claw
Brick Break

October 11th, 2011, 9:18 PM
Congrats on finishing SS!

Late screenie, but its level 82, like most of my runs. And as I run this challenge... well it counts.

October 13th, 2011, 10:38 AM
Congrats on finishing SS!

Thanks! I think I'ma take a little break because I randomly decided to try my hand at a Nuzlocke challenge. Which worries me. Not the challenge, but the trying to scrounge up enough artistic talent to draw the comics. Wish me luck!

October 13th, 2011, 11:33 AM

For my ultimate solo run I'm going to be starting with Elekid in Fire Red and eventually get to BW and finish with an Electrivire.

October 14th, 2011, 6:08 PM
hey i would love to join. i would be playing silver. however i am going to request. somebody PICK my solo challange pokemon for me. any one, idc. however cant be a magikarp or anything else that cannot defend itsself. ill edit here which pokemon it is after somebody gets back to me. :)

EDIT: Ok so my pokemon will be Magcargo, thanks to SuperKirbyFan :). good luck to me! :P
EDIT: So First thing I have decided is to hack in a slugma. (just a regular random pokemon encounter early game wont be given extra stats or anything. Becuase I wont get one for awhile thru the game otherwise.) I'm using an Emulator.
EDIT: Alright so i'm actualy going to need a different pokemon other than magcargo. I'm going to be playing original Silver which doesnt have a Magcargo. (This edit will disappear after somebody chooses my new pokemon.

Oh good, it looks like I get to pick who you get as my first post other than my introduction. I'll give you... Magcargo. His stats are low enough that it'll take some skill to get through the game, but it's also totally possible.

Anyways, the main reason I came into this topic was because of this: I've always wanted to do a solo run in one of the games, and I've decided it should be HG/SS because that game, I believe, is the hardest to beat. Plus, Red is a far cooler final boss than any Elite 4 champion. I've seen videos of people beating Red with weak pokemon, like Pidgey. So, is it theoretically possible to beat Red with anyone (other than like sunkern) as long as you do it right? The reason i'm asking is because I want to do it with Weedle. Me and my brother always used to laugh at Weedle because he's so inferior to Caterpie. I'm willing to do large amounts of level grinding, right up to lvl 100 if I have to, and I'm willing to try different strategies over and over again to beat him. I just don't want to play through 16 badges only to find out I can't finish since the pokemon I chose is too weak. What do you guys think?
EDIT: Unless you guys know for a fact that it's impossible, I'll probably try to beat SoulSilver with Weedle. It'll be.... quite the challenge to say the least, but if I can finish it then it'll be so epic. And of course, I'll provide screenshots to prove it. It's also a real-life copy of the game, not an emulator.

I have another question as well. I've been looking at some of the different challenge topics, and I keep seeing references to "Ultimate" challenges. I understand that it means you play the challenge through one game in each generation. But for the solo challenge in particular, do you use the same pokemon through all 4 games? Or do you raise another pokemon of the same species in each game, so you have to relevel it? The latter would not only require hacking, but sounds kind of boring, since in that time I could've done 4 unique solo runs, on different games. The first option seems too easy after the first game, since often the pokemon you train ends up higher than level 80, so not only would he OHKO most of the game, but he wouldn't listen to you either.

I do believe you pick one pokemon. and leave it thru each game. so as you said in ur post, example kanto u pick lets say.. weedle as your pokemon. you catch it, you train it. u beat the game. next series u do the same thing. u catch it u train it. no cross overs:P

still need a pokemon for silver :P remember its original silver not soulsilver:P

October 20th, 2011, 5:29 PM
So I have to keep this short my battery is dieing....basically I finished my Typhlosion Solo run, only had to challange red a couple of times but is all done now on to Maganium as soon as I can

I hadn't noticed you edited your post until now. This time I'll pick one I know is near the start of the game. Let's try Ledian. Ledyba can be caught before the first gym, on route 31, in Silver version only.

October 20th, 2011, 11:42 PM
Okay, I'm kinda bored, and I've been wanting to play the gen 1 and gen 2 games for a while, so here's my third ultimate solo:

Excalibur the Scyther!

Going Yellow, Crystal (or SoulSilver), Emerald, Platinum. Won't do B/W yet.

Anyway, I started today (last night), and I'm using an emulator, so it's going fast.

Name: Arthur (The KING!)
Rival: Mordred (The VILLIAN!)
Starter: Pikachu of course (no starter editor in Yellow, grr)

Yeah, I've got the whole Avalon theme going.

Forget the wall of text, here is a screenshot montage instead.

2 Quick Attacks, 2 Slashes...

Spammed Quick Attack for the win, lol.

Quick Attack is still my only attacking move...

Yay! Slash! Goodbye, Raichu.

3 Swords Dances, 3 Quick Attacks.

I am saved in the Pokemon Tower after beating Giovanni for the first time in the Hideout.

Funny story about the Hideout, by the way. I usually skip the Rocket Hideout in the Game Corner, since you can use a Pokedoll on Marowak. Unfortunately, Scyther can't learn any non-Normal type moves until L50 (Wing Attack, and only on Yellow), so I actually was getting ready to go up the Pokemon Tower (I was at like L43 or so, and had bought a Pokedoll too), and realized that I need to get Excalibur to L50 go I could kill the ghosts, lol.

So I went back and beat the hideout for experience purposes. I have 4 Rare Candies, so I ended up at L45 after beating Giovanni, then defeated some trainers I skipped on my way to Celedon, and now I'm at L46, yay. I actually just left the Silph Scope sitting there, lol.

*smacks own head for putting in a wall of text after the screenshots*

Team Arthur:

Excalibur the Scyther - L46
Moves: Slash, Quick Attack, Double Team, Swords Dance

Charmander - Dig, Cut
Spearow - Fly

Lol, I came back to my challenge, and didn't know that I finished Nidoqueen, so I did it again. This time I was at 83 though!

@SuperKirbyFan: I'd say go for it. I'm eventually going to do an ultimate solo with Magikarp. Maybe you beating SoulSilver with Weedle will give me some inspiration to get started!

Adding IDoLikeMudkip to the champ list now.

Yea that's what I thought too. I still have to acquire a copy of SS first, then I will.

Final Update (#2) on Yellow.

I used 4 Rare Candies to get Excalibur to L50 to learn Wing Attack for the ghosts, and away we went.

Blaine, Giovanni (gym battle), and Lorelei were the only ones who gave me serious trouble.

Beat the Pokemon Tower, made my way to Fushia, then did Silph Co and the Saffron Gym. Forgot the screen of Mordred.

3 Slashes.

Did the Safari Zone, then to the gym.

1 SD, and 4 Wing Attacks.

Surfed on Lapras to Cinnabar.

Arcanine kept destroying with Fire Blast. Finally he used Flamethrower instead and Excalibur 2HKOed with Slash.

Giovanni's Rhydon kept OHKOing with Rock Slide, so I stopped and taught Hyper Beam to Excalibur. After a couple fails (crits after 3 Swords Dances, misses, etc.) Rhydon fell to a OHKO Hyper Beam.

Sandslash is setup bait for Swords Dance, and I swept from there.

Got through Voctory Road, and used my Rare Candies to get Excalibur to L72.

Elite Four:

The hardest was Lorelei, I would have died if Lapras hadn't missed with Blizzard.

3 Swords Dances on Sandslash, then swept with Hyper Beam. Damage is from 3 Poison Stings (Sandslash) and Cloyster's Ice Beam, after I missed a Hyper Beam.

Team Arthur:

Excalibur the Scyther - L75
Moves: Wing Attack, Slash, Hyper Beam, Swords Dance
Final Stats: 232/224/176/145/197

Charmander - Dig, Cut
Spearow - Fly
Lapras - Strength, Surf

I decided to go with Crystal for Johto.

Update #1 on Crystal.

Name: Arthur
Rival: Mordred
Starter: Scyther (hacked as starter in place of Chikorita)

Started with Scyther thanks to a starter editor tool, named him Excalibur.
Beat ??? while on my errand, and named him Mordred.
Started for Violet City and caught Hoothoot as a Flash/Fly slave.
Made my way to Violet City, beat the Sprout Tower and beat Falkner as well, Gust didn't do too much.
Went down to Union Cave, and caught a Sandshrew as a Cut slave. Taught Swift to Excalibur.
Arrived in Azalea Town and beat Team Rocket, then took on the Gym. Bugsy was no match for Excalibur's Swift.
Taught Excalibur Fury Cutter, then faced Mordred again. Pursuit was real helpful in taking down Gastly, and Quilava was 2 hit by Swift.
Got Cut in Ilex Forest for Sandshrew, and taught Headbutt to Excalibur.
Arrived in Goldenrod City, and picked up the Return TM at the store.
After beating the Underground trainers, I took on the gym.
Whitney did beat me once because Fury Cutter missed against Miltank and Rollout is 4X effective, but the second time was fine. Clefairy Metronomed Aeroblast, lol.
We continued on to Ecruteak City, catching a Psyduck on the way.
Explored the Burned Tower and beat Mordred again, then took down the Kimono Girls to get Surf.
Morty went down easily to Excalibur's new move, Wing Attack.
Our next stop was Olivine City. We scaled the Lighthouse, got Strength, and found Monica, who gave us a Sharp Beak. Score!
We are just about to Surf to Cianwood City.

Screens:http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/5204/ultsolo3mordred1.png http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/8936/ultsolo3falkner.png http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/51/ultsolo3bugsy.png http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/615/ultsolo3mordred2.png http://img847.imageshack.us/img847/2189/ultsolo3whitney.png http://img847.imageshack.us/img847/9093/ultsolo3mordred3.png http://img546.imageshack.us/img546/4122/ultsolo3morty.png

Moves: Wing Attack, Pursuit, Fury Cutter, Return

Hoothoot - Flash
Sandshrew - Cut, Dig, Rock Smash, Strength
Psyduck - Surf

Alright, this is my second run. First run was Snubbul/Granbull, this one is Teddiursa/Ursaring. Playing on Shiny Gold X.

Named my rival Lutero
Started off very rough, lost to my rival a bunch of times but eventually beating him after grinding to level 9.
Caught Teddiursa, level 5, Relaxed Nature.
Nicknamed it Lunar :3
Got to that city with the gym, forgot what it's called :P. Went into Bellsprout tower, leveled up a bunch, learned Lick and Fury Swipes.
After finishing up there, Teddiursa was level 17.
Got into the gym, beat the trainers, fought Falkner.
What an ass hole, he hypnosis' you with Hoothoot then gets like 6 double teams up then starts Aerial Acing you to death while you miss. I got lucky with a crit and killed it.
His Pidgeotto is even more of a troll, it Double teams up to +6 evasion then uses Mud slap until you're -6 accuracy, then fly/quick attack's you to death.
After losing about 8 times I finally beat him, Lunar was level 18 by then.
I got Mud slap, which seemed useless at first but I realized it would come in handy for the Rock types coming up.
Got the Togepi egg, then went onto that next route and leveled up some more, then got into Azalea cave.
After getting out of there, I saved at the Azalea Pokemon Center.

Well, I decided that instead of doing a SoulSilver run with Weedle, I'm going to do an Ultimate with Weedle. I got the idea from myrrhman. It would take a lot more dedication, and not only that, but I own LeafGreen and not SoulSilver, so instead of waiting until I buy SS I can just start tomorrow. I'll be doing the gens on actual games, not emulators, and I'll only have to hack a Weedle to the start of the game for gens 3 and 5. I'll provide screenshots for each to prove that I did it. This should be fun!

EDIT: Also, jdthebud, where did you get those signature userbars? I want to get one like that for my run.
EDIT2: Apparently Weedle's only damaging attack in LeafGreen is Poison Sting. (Starting in Platinum/HGSS he has Bug Bite). That'll make things interesting.

Update #2 on Crystal.

Went to Cianwood and destroyed Chuck with Wing Attack.
Flew back to Olivine and beat Jasmine thanks to Swords Dance letting me OHKO each Magnemite, then got a crit on Steelix to win.
Made my way to Mahogony, then to Lake of Rage.
Beat the Gyarados, then talked to Lance. We convened in the shop and uncovered the Hideout.
After taking down Team Rocket, I got Whirlpool and then entered the gym.
Pryce was no match for an overleveled Excalibur.
Back at Lake of Rage, I got the Hidden Power TM and tested it. IT WAS BUG TYPE FTW!!!
Time for the Radio Tower! Excalibur and I quickly beat Mordred and rescued the Director, then beat the final Team Rocket boss.
Went through the Ice Path (picked up Waterfall) to Blackthorn City, and quickly took down Clair. During the battle, I found that my Hidden Power was 50-60 base power.
After taking the Dragon's Den test and beating the trainers on Mountain Road, I flew back home.
Made my way to Victory Road, where I beat Mordred again.
Time for the Elite Four!
Will: Wing Attack for both Xatu, Hidden Power Bug for the rest.
Koga: Wing Attack sweep.
Bruno: Wing Attack for everyone except Onix, who took 2 Hidden Power Bug (put up Sandstorm, annoying).
Karen: Hidden Power Bug for Umbreon, Wing Attack for the rest.
Finally, Lance was up. Excalibur Swords Danced while Gyarados put up Rain Dance, and Wing Attack OHKOed everyone, even Aerodactyl!

Hoothoot - Flash, Fly
Sandshrew - Cut, Dig, Rock Smash, Strength
Psyduck - Surf, Whirlpool, Waterfall

October 24th, 2011, 6:19 PM
So I started LG with Weedle today. Got up to Viridian Forest, and the first one I caught looked like it had really good stats, so that's always nice. I put Charmander back in my PC, and went to train Weedle. The Caterpies and Weedles i was facing were taking 8+ hits to die, Weedles even more than that. No matter, I'll just have to grind at the start to get a significant level advantage. Running out of PP is another reason I need to do that, as I only have one damaging move. Once I accidentially evolved Weedle into Kakuna when I wasn't looking, so i turned it off to fix that. Right now Weedle is level 8. I would've played more but my DS had a low battery.

October 24th, 2011, 9:02 PM
I'll start this challenge tonight. My pokemon will be Umbreon.

I'll do an Ultimate Solo challenge too.

I'll be doing FR --> C --> E --> Pt --> W

Final Update (#3) on Crystal.

Took the SS Aqua to Kanto, and proceeded to beat Surge. He was annoying because Magneton paralyzed Excalibur with Zap Cannon then Surge kept Double Teaming.
Sabrina (Hidden Power) and Erika (Wing Attack) were easy victories as well.
Next I fixed the Power Plant, then Excalibur beat Misty with Wing Attack (Hidden Power for Starmie).
Got the Expn Card in Lavender Town and killed Snorlax, then got to Pewter City, where I crushed Brock with Swords Dance + Hidden Power.
Defeated Mordred in Mt. Moon easily, then went down to Pallet Town and Surfed to Cinnabar Island.
Talked to Blue, then surfed to the Seafoam Islands and beat Blaine.
Continued Surfing to Fuchsia City and easily defeated Janine with Wing Attack.
Flew up to Indigo Plateau and defeated Mordred for the final time. He has the Champion/Red battle music this time, it's creepy.
Back in Viridian City, I beat Cal in the Trainer House, then took on Blue for my final badge. After a Swords Dance (Pidgeot used Mirror Move), Excalibur swept with Wing Attack and Hidden Power.

Finally, it was time to face off against Red. I used my Rare Candies and got Excalibur to L87, gave him a Leftovers, then climbed Mt. Sliver.
You can watch the video of the battle here. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enV07_HuVsU)

Excalibur VS Pikachu: Swords Dance, Thunder (paralyzed!), Parlyz Heal (Excalibur), Thunder, Hidden Power Bug OHKO, Pikachu fainted!
VS Charizard: Wing Attack OHKO, Charizard fainted!
VS Blastoise: Wing Attack OHKO, Blastoise fainted!
VS Snorlax: Wing Attack (sliver of health left), Body Slam, Hidden Power Bug, Snorlax fainted!
VS Venusaur: Wing Attack OHKO, Venusaur fainted!
VS Espeon: Hidden Power Bug OHKO, Espeon fainted!

I decided to restart my ultimate solo run with Typhlosion (after so long) and do a new ultimate solo run with Smeargle. Sounds good? Okay.

I'd started with Fire Red and here's my progress.

I started the game with Squirtle as my starter and delivered the parcel to Oak.

I hacked in Smeargle and allowed him to sketch Squirtle's Bubble (I needed something to combat Rock types and it was either Ember or Leech Seed).

Grinded Origin the Smeargle to Level 11 to learn another Sketch.

Sketched a wild Mankey's Scratch (Strongest Normal move with base power 40)

Defeated Gary and Brock with a few Potions.

Currently at Mt. Moon.

Origin/Smeargle ♂ Lv. 19
Nature: Quiet
Moves: Bubble, Scratch

October 25th, 2011, 4:18 PM
I'll sign up with Onix

(In place of Johto I'll use either Liquid Crystal or Shiny Gold)

Update #1

Changed starter from Pikachu to Onix
Defeated Rival Gary
Received Oak's Parcel
Got the Pokédex
Beat Brock and won the Boulder Badge & TM34, saved from that point

♂ Onix ; Level 12

Gotta love it when two DS's and 2 GBAs are either dead or have less than an hour's worth of power. I guess I won't be playing Pokemon today, lol.

October 26th, 2011, 4:22 PM
Started Emerald.

Name: Arthur
Starter: Treeko

Hacked in a Scyther egg that knew Silver Wind (egg move) so I could stand a chance against Roxanne, named him Excalibur.

Beat May, got the Pokedex, and we started on our journey.

Eventually arrived in Rustboro City and continued up north to train some more.
Excalibur was at L16 when I faced Roxanne. Thanks to an X Defend, an X Attack (Pickup ftw), a boost from Silver Wind, and a few Super Potions, Excalibur pulled through with Silver Wind and Pursuit. Rock Tomb's speed drop was so annoying - Nosepass was outspeeding Excalibur at the end.

After rescuing Peeko and the Devon Goods, I took on May again.
Excalibur barely survived with 1 HP. He grew a level, so the pic shows 4 HP.

Mr. Briney gave me a lift to Dewford Town, and I delivered the letter to Steven, then took on Brawly.
He was easy, Quick Attack spam won the fight.

Went to Slateport City, taught Excalibur Steel Wing, then saved on the beach.

Team Arthur:
Excalibur the Impish Scyther, ♂ - L21 @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Swarm
Moves: Quick Attack, Pursuit, Silver Wind, Steel Wing

HM Slaves:
Treeko - Cut

October 26th, 2011, 7:21 PM
Next Update on Pokemon Shiny Gold X Teddiursa/Ursaring Run:

Defeated Team Rocket in the Slowpoke Cave
Beat Rival then did the stupid Farfetch'd event and obtained Cut.
Defeated Azalea Gym and Carlos, If Teddiursa hadn't of learned Faint Attack it would have been hell.
Went through the forest thing, beat more trainers, and got to GoldenRod City.
Beat the underground place and bought some more items, including Ice Punch.
Pwned Whitney's Gym and got the Squirtbottle.
Teddiursa Evolved into Ursaring...
Went onto the next route, beat some more trainers, even more trainers, got the Treecko from that lady and then squirted Sudowoodo with the bottle.
Beat even more trainers then got to Ecruteak city.
Saved at Ecruteak City.

October 27th, 2011, 9:42 PM
Update #2 on Emerald.

Delivered the Devon Goods, then headed to Mauville. Excalibur learned Wing Attack just in time for May.

After beating all the trainers around Mauville, I took on the gym. It was easier then I thought to beat Wattson, overleveled as Excalibur was.

http://img847.imageshack.us/img847/9999/ultsolo3wally1.png http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/4181/ultsolo3wattson.png

Taught Rock Smash to Treeko and headed north.
Cruised through Fallarbor Town to the Meteor Falls where Team Magma was causing trouble.
At this time, I got the Hidden Power TM and tested it...GROUND! My luck is staying with me - no need for Steel Wing now!
Climbed Mt. Chimney and defeated Maxie for the Metorite.

Hopped down to Lavaridge, where I destroyed Flannery with Hidden Power Ground.

Caught a ride with Mr. Briney back to Petalburg to face Norman, my dad.
I actually lost the first time - got Countered by Slaking. Second time I Swords Danced instead, then OHKOed with Silver Wind.

Saved after getting Surf.

Team Arthur:
Excalibur the Impish Scyther, ♂ - L46 @ Cheri Berry
Ability: Swarm
Moves: Wing Attack, Silver Wind, Hidden Power (Ground), Swords Dance

HM Slaves:
Treeko - Cut, Rock Smash, Strength, Dig

Ultimate Solo Challenge Update #2 with Weedle

Well yesterday and the day before I continued my run. I finally got Weedle strong enough to beat all the trainers in Viridian forest, then went to Brock's gym. I beat the trainer before Brock, then challenged Brock himself. Right now I can beat Geodude, but Onix is too powerful with his Rock Tomb that hits every time, so I'll have to level Weedle up more (right now he's level 13).

October 31st, 2011, 9:46 PM
Ultimate Solo Challenge Update #3 with Weedle

Today I got a lot of playing done on the game. Here's how it went:

I managed to beat Brock without even leveling up since the last update. I had to poison his Onix, and then use Potions every time he used Rock Tomb to stay alive until the Poison finished him off. It was a really epic battle.
After beating Brock, I continued on and beat all but one of the trainers on Route 3. I also went and sold items like TMs that I wouldn't be able to use.
I then entered Mt. Moon, beat all the trainers in there (except one that had a steel-type), and got the Dome Fossil. The super nerd at the end was ridiculous, he had two poison-types, and his Grimer had both Harden and Disable. I got lucky, he missed with Disable 3 times. When I finished I only had 1 PP left for Poison Sting, I'm really looking forward to getting some PP Ups.
Then I entered Cerulean, and that's pretty much where I stopped for the day.

It doesn't look like much, but those things took a really long time since I only had a Weedle. Even though I'm only in Cerulean, my file has around 6 and a half hours on it. Also, I took a screenshot of me beating Brock (and another with Weedle's stats after the battle), but I didn't bother to upload them yet. I'll do so in a future update. Weedle is level 22 now, which is 9 higher than the last update.

Ultimate Solo Challenge Update #4 with Weedle

-I went and faced Misty and got owned by Starmie, so I decided to leave that for later.
-Beat the rival, and everyone on the Nugget Bridge, sold the nugget and some TMs.
-Beat all but one of the trainers by Bill's house, and rescued him. Wow do I ever hate Nidoran-female.
-I noticed that the police officer moved, so I continued on to Vermillion without beating Misty (Idk why I wrote two badges in my sig on the last update, that's wrong).
-I entered the S.S. Anne and beat some of the trainers, and that's where I ended for the day. Weedle is now level 30.

Ultimate Solo Challenge Update #5 with Weedle

Today went well I'd say.

-I went and beat all the trainers in the S.S. Anne
-Got Cut, and left the boat
-Went back to Cerulean and finally beat Misty. Staryu's Recover is annoying.
-Went to Vermillion and beat Surge, who was WAY easier than Misty. Works for me.
-Went and beat all but one of the trainers on the path east of Cerulean, and entered Rock Tunnel. That's where I ended for the day, Weedle is level 37.

Well I've got a semi-update here, which is why there's no title. I've been taking screenshots throughout the game, and I just now uploaded them to my computer, so here they are. From here on I'll be uploading screenshots whenever I beat my rival, a gym leader, or someone else important (like the team rocket leader or something) in the correct updates. Also, sorry for the bad quality, I do a lot of my gameplay at school or on the bus, with an actual GBA, so I have to take pictures with my phone's camera.

EDIT: I have them as direct links and not image tags because for whatever reason the pictures are huge, and would make my post multiple screens tall.

And on to Sinnoh!

Update #1 on Platinum.

Name: Arthur
Rival: Mordred (grr, Lancelot won't fit - better name for the rival of this region imo, unlike gens 1 and 2)
Starter: Turtwig

Using a wild pokemon editor, I hacked in Scyther on Route 202.
After the first one didn't have Technician, the second one did.
Named her Excalibur, and she has an Adamant Nature! Crappy Attack IV though...
Anyway, we continued on and faced Mordred. Quick Attack spam took him down easily.

Eventually we reached Oreburgh City, and after exploring the mine, we took on the gym.
The fact that Excalibur started with Vacuum Wave was awesome. Even though her special attack sucks, so does Geodude and Onix's special defense.
Roark didn't give Excalibur any trouble. Vacuum Wave OHKOed Geodude, and Onix used Stealth Rock and Cranidos used Headbutt while they were both 2HKOed.

Taught Rock Smash to Turtwig and got the Flash TM underneath the Oreburgh Gate (taught to Turtwig as well).
We made our way north to Florama Town, and heard about Team Plasma making trouble at the Valley Windworks.
Inside, we found Mars, who was spoiling for a fight. She went down easily to Quick Attack and Vacuum Wave.

Continued north and went through the Eterna Forest, and Excalibur learned Wing Attack!
After talking to Mordred again and getting Cut from Cynthia, we took on the gym.
Gardenia was no match for Excalibur's Technician-boosted Wing Attack.

Taught Cut to Turtwig, and we went straight to the top of the TG Eterna Building, where Jupiter was acting out.
She went down to Wing Attack spam as well.

Got the Bike, and saved on the Route 206 bridge.

Team Arthur:
Excalibur the Adamant Scyther, ♀ - L28
Ability: Technician
Moves: Wing Attack, Fury Cutter, Vacuum Wave, Pursuit

Turtwig - Rock Smash, Flash, Cut

November 9th, 2011, 6:47 PM
Just thought I'd point out to u guys that the reason I'm not updating recently is because I have multiple exams this week.

November 10th, 2011, 1:45 PM
I'll be doing an Ultimate Challenge, FireRed>Shiny Gold>Emerald>Platinum with a Zangoose.

November 12th, 2011, 4:14 PM
I'm doing this on Gold with Wobufett, but since it's impossible,(due to Ghost attacks being physical and Counter doesn't hit,and Dark are special and Mirror Coat doesn't hit,and there's Morty and Karen)
I'm hacking Counter & Mirror Coat to be Dragon type(it won't affect damage,so it shouldn't be a problem)

November 12th, 2011, 11:59 PM
Update #2 on Platinum.

Crossed the bridge, then went back to the Oreburgh Gate basement and used the bike to get the Brick Break TM.
Used it on Excalibur, then explored Wayward Cave for a bit.
Eventually we made our way to Hearthome City, where we took on the gym.
Fantina was easy as pie, they were all OHKOs with Pursuit.

When we left the city, Mordred ambushed us, but Excalibur took care of him with Wing Attack.

Cruised through Solaceon Town after getting Defog in the Ruins and battled our way to Veilstone City.
After some vitamin shopping, we took on the gym.
Maylene was easy as well, Wing Attack and Brick Break OHKOed all her Pokemon.

Got the Fly HM, then continued south to Pastoria City, then back north to Hearthome on the other side.
Excalibur learned X-Scissor, and I also taught her Aerial Ace.
After some Hondew Berry planting, we took on the gy - no, Mordred ambushed us again...He went down easily.

Now the gym was up. Wake actually put up a fight thanks to Gyarados' Intimidate and a crit Ice Fang from Floatzel. Quagsire missed with Rock Tomb, or else Excalibur would have died.

More plot stuff with the Galactic Bomb and Cynthia's missions, and we are saved on Route 210.

Team Arthur:
Excalibur the Adamant Scyther, ♀ - L50 @ SilverPowder
Ability: Technician
Moves: Aerial Ace, Brick Break, X-Scissor, Double Hit

Turtwig - Rock Smash, Flash, Cut
Starly - Fly, Defog

Lv 9
Leech Seed

The battle was hard as his Pidgey fired off a lot of sand attacks but i managed to get a leech seed off and used that for the KO. For Charmander I used a very similar strategy.

Ultimate Solo Challenge Update #6 with Weedle

Well finally I'm back after writing my exams, so back to updates!

-I finished Rock Tunnel, wow I hate that place.
-Went and fought all but 3 of the battles on Route 8, and all but 1 on Route 12.
-Tried to fight my rival in Pokemon Tower and lost, I guess I'll worry about that later.
-Got to Celadon. Beat the Rocket Grunt blocking the poster and hit the button, and won 400 coins on slots.
-Went to the store and bought drinks and Awakenings, since apparently the other stores don't sell them now.
-I found a PP Up, so I used it on Poison Sting, lol.
-Then I went and beat all the trainers in the 4th gym, including Erika. I had to beat her twice since the first time her Vileplume got a critical on me when she was one Poison Sting away from death. Here's a screenshot of me having beat Erika: http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn205/S_K_F/1118110028a_294171.jpg

If I wanted to do a Riolu ultimate solo run, would I be allowed to hack pokemon Ruby and Leafgreen so I can use a pokemon with Riolu's moves and stats, just an other sprite?

If I wanted to do a Riolu ultimate solo run, would I be allowed to hack pokemon Ruby and Leafgreen so I can use a pokemon with Riolu's moves and stats, just an other sprite?
Yeah, I guess that'd be alright.

Ultimate Solo Challenge Update #7 with Weedle

Ok, so I managed to get quite a bit done since the last update.

-Entered the Rocket Hideout and beat all the trainers inside.
-I beat Giovanni, he really wasn't much of a challenge at all. I had been worried about that fight.
-Left Celadon and went to Saffron.
-After learning the Fighting gym was too strong for me, I entered the Silph Co. and beat most of the trainers there.
-Went and challenged my rival, but his pokemon were a way higher level than everything else so I'll beat him later.
-Got my third PP Up in the Silph Co., and used it on Poison Sting so now it has 56 PP.
-Beat the Snorlax to the west of Celadon. Earlier I couldn't beat him because he had Immunity (seriously this must be one of the only times in the series that Immunity actually helps someone). This time he didn't have it so I won.
-Beat the Snorlax to the east by running away from it (lol)
-Got the Old and Super Rods
-Went and caught a bunch of random pokemon to get 30 in the Pokedex...
-...so I could go get the Itemfinder, Flash, and the Everstone from Oak's Aide.
-Used the Itemfinder to get both Leftovers, and gave one to Weedle. Finally a held item that actually does something useful!
-Switched around my HM slaves, since I ended up trading my Spearow for a Farfetch'd named Ch'Ding to fill the Pokedex more(ingame trade, not with another game). Now my slaves are Wigglytuff (Strength, Flash), Farfetch'd (Fly, Cut), and Vaporeon(Surf)
-Went and beat some of the trainers on Cycling Road.
-Saved there, Weedle is now level 57.

November 25th, 2011, 9:19 AM
I've found out soloing with Riolu would be very hard, seeing it doesn't get a good ifghting move out of the brick break TM. So I will look for another pokemon to do an ultimate solo with, you will hear from me when i've found one :)

November 25th, 2011, 10:38 PM

Ultimate Solo Challenge Update #8 with Weedle on LeafGreen

I'm having tons of fun with this, lol. Here's another big update:

-I continued on to Fuschia City, and got Surf & Strength with the Safari Zone quest.
-Then I entered the gym, and beat a bunch of guys in there since there was more psychic pokemon that poison almost.
-One trainer had 2 Arboks and a Sandslash. The Sandslash used multiple Sand-Attacks on me. When I got to the second Arbok, I was in trouble. I had on Weedle 3+ Sand Attacks, 2 Intimidates, and 3 Screeches. That's when I learned an amazing trick. I ran out of PP and started using Struggle. It did tons of damage to him, and allowed me to pretty much sweep the whole gym. Since then I haven't been using anything else. I have a picture of me beating Koga at the bottom of this post.
-With Struggle's awesome power (Seriously, it's just stupid lol) I went and cleared all the TR Grunts I hadn't beaten in the Silph Co, and all the guys I skipped on Cycling Road.
-I traveled south, and cleared all the trainers on the way to Cinnabar Island, passing through Seafoam Islands on the way.
-I got the key from the mansion, and beat all the trainers in there.
-I went and beat all the trainers except the leader in Blaine's gym.
-Since I needed to be a higher level to compete with Blaine, I went and beat my rival in the Silph Co, and Giovanni, so I got Lapras and the Master Ball.
-I still needed to level up, so I beat the Fighting Dojo, and Sabrina's gym. As I was exiting the battle screen for Sabrina, I realized I hadn't taken a screen shot, so instead I took a picture of her explaining the Marshbadge to me, which is at the bottom of this post.
-I then went and found 2 Rare Candies I had missed, and used them and another I had so Weedle could level up more.
-Finally I could beat Blaine, but only by stalling out Growlithe's 5 Fire Blasts, then using Guard Spec (Arcanine has Intimidate) and 6 X Attacks, and a Dire Hit, and then OHKO everyone. Arcanine needed a critical hit because he was just that strong. There's a picture of that too at the bottom of the post.
-Bill dragged me off to the Sevii Islands. It was kinda annoying since I wanted to go fight the 8th gym, and my HM Slaves weren't with me. I hadn't ever been there before since I've only beaten the original Blue, not the remake.
-After that I went to the 8th gym, which really wasn't hard at all since ground doesn't do much to Weedle, especially with his great defense. I beat Giovanni on my first try (pic at bottom again).
-As of now I'm saved right before I fight my rival again, with Weedle at level 83.

Here's the four pictures (Because somehow in 8 updates, 4 of the gym leaders are in 1 update). As before, the reason the quality sucks is because I play on an actual GBA, not an emulator, so my pictures are taken with a cell phone camera.

Good news everyone!

Bad news is: Vileplume time. I hate Grass types (that aren't Parasect)

Edit for great justice: Yup, I absolutely hate Grass Types. Mt. Moon was hell. Absorb against Zubats is just pathetic. Acid isn't much better. Somehow, I've made it all the way to the Pokemon Tower with a Vileplume at about lv. 50. Still can't one hit the Gastlys that trainers have...

I ran out of PP and started using Struggle. It did tons of damage to him, and allowed me to pretty much sweep the whole gym. Since then I haven't been using anything else.

I guess its pretty nice that you can just buy tons and tons of Hyper Potions and not bother worrying about PP. I think I'll probably end up doing that for my Magikarp run.

Time for Mr. Parasect.

It really is, especially when I can sell all my TMs, Revives, evolution stones, and Antidotes to get more Hyper Potion money.

Ultimate Solo Challenge Update #9 with Weedle

Well, I had thought this would be the last update for LeafGreen, but it's the second last. This update may look huge, but I got barely anything done. Here's how it went.

-Upon starting out, I realized I had an unused Rare Candy. So I went and leveled up once in Victory Road & then used it.
-Then I entered the Elite 4 at level 88.
-Lorelei was pretty easy. I used 6 X Attacks and a Dire Hit, and proceeded to OHKO her whole team, except for Cloyster and Slowbro which were taken down over multiple turns with Hyper Potions to help me.
-Bruno was really easy. Even before I used X Defense his Onix was no match. Other than his first Onix, I OHKO'd his whole team too.
-Agatha was even easier. Gengar used Double Team 5 times while I set up, but after I broke through that I beat her on the first try.
-Lance I had to try twice. Dragonite was really hard, until he decided to use Safeguard instead of Outrage (lol what). I OHKO'd his whole team too.
-I forgot to take screenshots of everyone but Agatha, I'll put hers in the next update.

-Now... I'm saved in front of the door to my rival's room. This fight is so hard it's insane, which is why this update is so small. I've been trying to film this fight and put it on Youtube, so you guys can see it when it's done. The problem is actually winning. Here's how it usually goes. He sends out Pidgeot. I use Guard Spec. every 5 turns to block Featherdance and Sand-Attack, while I use Hyper Potions to stay alive, 2 X Defense so I don't die, and 6 X Attacks with a Dire Hit. After that, I use Struggle and get Pidgeot into the yellow. Even getting this far is somewhat of an accomplishment since many many times I get critical'd with Aerial Ace and die. Then I kill Pidgeot. He sends out Alakazam, I OHKO it. Then he sends out Arcanine. If I attack, he loses a little more than half his health. He also uses Flamethrower every time, which can OHKO me from full health, and has no chance of missing. The only way I can beat Arcanine is by critical hitting him, which is way harder than it needs to be. If I succeed, he sends out Rhydon and I go up to level 90. It's super-weak, so I use a Guard Spec. so he doesn't use Scary Face and then heal and kill it. This takes a few turns since using 2 Struggles gets him into the red and he usually uses his Full Restores here. Then it's Exeggutor. I attack it, he Egg Bombs for almost no damage, and then I kill it. Finally, he sends out Blastoise. This one is like Arcanine. He uses Hydro Pump, and even though it has only 80 accuracy I've never seen him miss with it yet. If I have full health, I can live through Hydro Pump at about 30 health. I've only gotten this far twice. The second time, I tried to stall out his 5 Hydro Pumps by healing. After the third, he Rain Danced so he was strong enough to OHKO me. My only hope was to use Struggle AND critical hit him. I attacked... and actually got the critical! But then he lived with an amount of health so small I had no doubt in my mind I had won until he started to attack again. With no more than 5 HP, he used Hydro Pump and hit me. This wouldn't be so annoying if it weren't the final boss. I even went out and bought SoulSilver today so I could start tomorrow, but now I have to finish LeafGreen first. I'm might let him kill me so I can go level up in the Sevii Islands, but idk if that would help since I'm probably not going to suddenly be able to OHKO Arcanine after 11 more levels.

December 1st, 2011, 10:14 PM
So I did a Green Solo challenge today at school because it was the last day and I had nothing to do, and I, in fact, finished it with Venusaur. I could just tell you the plot of Green, but I'd just like to say how confusing it was with all the translations in it.

Flowe (Venusaur) Lv68.
Moves: Electric Power (Mega Drain), Raid (Take Down), Sleep Powder (Sleep Powder), Leaf-Cut Machine (Razor Leaf).

Ultimate Solo Challenge Update #10 with Weedle

I did it! LeafGreen is finally conquered! I managed to get lucky on Arcanine with a critical, and to beat Blastoise I stalled with Hyper Potions through all 5 of his Hydro Pumps. I also took a video of the battle and uploaded it to Youtube for all to see. All but 1 of the pictures from this update, and the video, were taken on a Game Boy Player with a Gamecube so that they would be easier to see. Here are the last pictures/video from LeafGreen (i forgot to get pictures of lorelei/bruno/lance, sorry).

Weedle's final stats - Page 2: http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn205/S_K_F/WeedlesFinalStats2.jpg

So after that, I started into SoulSilver. I picked Totodile as my starter since in this game, your starter choice only affects their starter, not half their team. This way he uses a starter that Weedle is supereffective against. I went through all the boring beginning-of-the-game-why-can't-i-have-the-running-shoes-or-poke-balls stuff. I caught a Weedle with an Impish nature, so that's a plus. Then I grinded a bit so Weedle could actually kill something (he couldn't even stop Joey's Rattata at first) and then I made my way to Violet City. I beat the guys in Sprout Tower, and the gym trainers. I can't beat Falkner yet, but after that the game should be easy. This is the only Johto gym that's supereffective against Weedle, and I just recently got Bug Bite (finally, a move with more than 20 power that isn't Struggle).

Ultimate Solo Challenge Update #11 with Weedle

Ah, there we go, other people posted. I was waiting for someone else to update before I did again. As a result, this is one of my biggest updates.

-So I went in and beat Falkner, thanks to X Special Defense, those X items are so good in Gen 2.
-Walked to Azalea, and did the Slowpoke Well thing.
-Beat all the gym trainers, but couldn't beat Bugsy, so I tried to leave town.
-Then there was my rival. I had to reset the game repeatedly until he decided not to use Curse with Gastly. Curse damage + Reflect + Bayleef healing with Synthesis isn't very easy to beat.
-Went back and beat Bugsy.
-Got through the Ilex Forest, beat a bunch of trainers, and got to Goldenrod.
-Went to the Department Store and bought a bunch of Lemonades.
-I beat Whitney fairly easily. Everyone always complains about her Miltank, but that was the easiest gym so far for me.
-Beat most of the trainers between Goldenrod/Ecruteak. There were way more than I expected.
-Entered the Bug-Catching Contest and lost with a Beedrill.
-Tried to fight my rival in the Burned Tower, but he was too strong, so I left town.
-Went and beat all the trainers between Ecruteak and Olivine.
-Beat all the trainers in the Lighthouse.
-Went east from Ecruteak and beat some trainers between there and Mahogany.
-Beat trainers on the way up to the Lake of Rage.
-THEN I went and beat my rival since I had leveled up quite a bit now.
-Beat Morty. Only problems I had were Haunter taking forever to kill since he spams Hypnosis, and Gengar being way too strong so I had to use 3 X Special Defenses.
-Went and beat some of the swimming trainers, and got to Cianwood.
-Got the SecretPotion and the Shuckle (which got boxed) and left the fight with Eusine alone for now.
-Beat all the Gym 5 trainers and Chuck.
-Went and sold TMs, and I accidentially sold Flash. That'll be fun later.
-Went and handed over the SecretPotion, and then challenged Jasmine.
-That's where I am now. I have to use X S.D. just to live through Magnemite's Thunderbolt, and Steelix has so much Defense I can barely hurt him. It's enough that I can still win though.

Here's the pictures from this update. I forgot to take one for Whitney. The ones for Morty and Chuck are in worse quality than normal since the text auto-scrolls when you have it on fast so I barely had time to get into my cell phone's camera. Also, myrrhman, I'm not listed as having beat Kanto yet.

Can you say two in a row?

I beat gold with scyther today

that's my third solo challenge beaten, so I decided to give a review on each one and side notes

Nidoqueen was my first solo challenge, and it was on red.It took a few tries, but at level 70-80 it was kind of easy. Difficulty was 5/10

Octillery was a pokemon I had never used before, but when it came up i tried it and it was a beast. Once it got to the 80s it could OHKO anything in its path. Difficulty 4/10

Scyther was a hard one. It had trouble with whitney, the first time ever i had trouble with her. Bruno's onix was hard and annoying, but a few swords dances it OHKO d it.
Difficulty was 8/10

Ultimate Solo Challenge Update #12 with Weedle

Johto seems to be moving along MUCH faster than Kanto.

-I used X items to get through Jasmine.
-Went back to Mahogany Town, and beat Red Gyarados by running away from it (lol).
-Beat the Team Rocket hideout, Lance's Dragonite was really helpful to be on a team with.
-Beat Pryce with pretty much no trouble.
-Saved the Radio Tower (why were there so many TR guys there anyway? That took me forever, especially the first TR Executive with his Weezing and 5 Koffings).
-Beat Clair after a few tries using X items.
-Went and did the stuff in the Dragon's Den.
-Went and got the Master Ball
-Now I'm at the Kimono Girls, which is one of the most challenging parts of this somehow. I usually get through Umbreon with almost no health, and Espeon is both faster than me and it can OHKO me. Once I get through that I should be good for a little while. I forgot a picture with Jasmine so I took it right after the battle instead.

I'd like to sign up for an Ultimate Solo Challenge with Umbreon.
Game Name: Umbra
Username: Facelift

I already beat Sapphire, and I'm moving on to Fire Red.

After hacking in Umbreon, I did the usual routine, and battled Green. After beatin his wimpy charmander, I beat him yet again by the E4 entrance, this time with a LV9 Umbreon against his LV9 Charmander and Pidgey. Needless to say, it was very easy.

Oh, dang. I'm sorry. It should be fine now.

December 15th, 2011, 7:51 PM
I beat Kanto!

So, since I left off at beating Green, I'll continue
from there:

I trained up to lvl 16 and took on Brock. After
that, I went through Mount Moon and all, and then I found Misty. I pwnzed her,
especially Starmie, since it's vulnerable to Dark moves. Basically,
I spammed pursuit. After that, I headed up the Nugget Bridge
after being challenged by (and pwning) Green.

I defeated the rocket and headed to Bill's

Turning him back human, I then went to the S.S.
Something (forgot the name). I trained and got HM1. I found myself in
need of a slave. So I got Meowth and defeated Lt. Surge. I headed on
to Celadon, and busted Rocket's operation, beat Giovanni, and got the Silph
Scope. I went to the Lavender Tower and beat Green again, and fought my way to
the top. I saved Mr. Fuji and got the Pokeflute.

After going back and beating Erika, I got
the Tea. I beat Koga, and went to Saffron, clearing out
Rockets, Green, and Giovanni. I got the Master Ball, but threw it away.

I headed to Cinnabar and beat Blaine. After that, I
did the Islands thing and went to Viridian. Beating Giovanni, I finally
went to Victory Road.

Victory Road was a lame excuse of a trial, and I
got out. Depositing my slaves (Meowth, Lapras, and Spearrow), I bought
96 full restores and pwned the league.

Lorelei- 4/10 difficulty since she spammed Full

Bruno- 6/10 difficulty since half his pokemon
were fighting type

Agatha was so easy I laughed.

Lance's Dragonite was the only one that gave me trouble

Finally, the time came for me to defeat

Exeggcutor-Sleep powder spam

Charizard-Damn his Fire Blast

Gyarados- Easy but was a Thrash spammer

Pokémon FireRed: Azumarill Solo Run
Chapter 2: Viridian Forest, Poisoned Marill, Thanks to Weedle
Ah, it's been a long time since I had a challenge. Anyway, I have no internet connection so I might as well play this. So, I last saved in Pallet Town and off to Route 1 I go. Firstly, I got a Town Map. Then, I found a Rattata and defeated it with some Tackles. I decided to grind for a while and due to that, Marill's now level 7. Then, I arrived in Viridian and healed Marill. Now that I dealed with that old guy and got this useless Teachy TV, I arrived in Viridian Forest. I grinded and while grinding, I refuse to fight against Weedle. But, I had to fight against a trainer who had a Weedle and I was poisoned. Then, Marill fainted and did the Pokémon Center blah blahs. And I learned my lesson. Always buy potions, antidotes or whatever when travelling. Bought 3 potions and 7 antidotes and I will continue my journey again blah blah. So I grinded but, I didn't noticed that Marill was at level 8 lol. Then I have to fight this trainer with a Weedle who is at level 9 but I managed to defeat him. Made it to Pewter and found a Jigglypuff.
Didn't make me that sleepy. Anyway, I thought of battling Brock but...I guess I'll have to grind for a while. So, I grinded and, the end.

I'll do a Sneasel run in Crystal.

December 22nd, 2011, 6:39 PM
So I've just recently attempted to download VBA and all the necessary ROMs under my cousin's discretion and, amidst that little fiasco, I asked him what would be the best way to get acquainted with Pokémon on a very general scale. I told him I wanted an extreme challenge (just because of my competitive nature) and he led me here.

I'm going to try and make my way through an ultimate with Magikarp--my cousin's to blame.

Oh, and I've never actually owned a Pokémon game of my own. No background knowledge, no tactics... what could possibly go wrong?

80s out.

125 - Magikarp
For this run, I'm going to list everything that sucks in order of play-through:

--Grinding a Karp to Lv. 15 to learn Tackle on Route 1
--Brock. ಠ_ಠ
--More grinding to avoid becoming Gary-sushi @ Cerulean Bridge
--THE "GRASS LASS". (http://i1095.photobucket.com/albums/i474/80s_haircut_man/pokemon_blue.png)

To be continued...

December 22nd, 2011, 6:53 PM

I have now beaten all the gyms and am saved in Victory Road. Koga beat me twice with Toxic+Minimize/Smokescreen hax, but I eventually beat him. The rest were easy with all my coverage moves.

I bought Ice Beam from the Game Corner and grabbed Thunder from the Power Plant before I faced Potter on Route 22, so those are the only moves changes from the last update (replaced Water Pulse and Shock Wave, both of which were used a bunch).

Here's another screenshot dump, starting with Erika.

Oh and thank you, OP.

December 27th, 2011, 10:10 AM
If someone could tell me how to take and upload screenshots from an emulator, I'll start doing that in my updates.

Just press the Print Screen button (it may be written as prt sc. or something similar). Then open up something like MS Paint, and paste the picture in (using prt sc is the same as copying it) and then cut out the extra stuff on the outside. Or, just put it into fullscreen mode and then use prt sc, then you don't need to cut anything out.

I wasn't going to update due to it being very small, but since I'm posting anyway I may as well.

Ultimate Solo Challenge Update #13 with Weedle

-I FINALLY beat the Kimono Girls, that was just ridiculous.
-Went to the Whirl Islands, and killed Lugia.
-Went through Victory Road. I had forgotten how easy it was in Gen 2.
-Now I'm right at the Elite 4. I'm having troubles with the first guy since he's the Psychic guy, so he's supereffective against me. This still wouldn't be much of a problem, but his first guy is Xatu so I'm not supereffective against him.
-Weedle is now level 76.

Actually, for VBA emulator, go to File>Screen Capture, and save it. The Print Screen button is better for No$gba (DS games).

December 28th, 2011, 6:36 AM
Oh no, I can't do it because of the traded pokemons levels cannot go higher than the gym you are at... Therefore I would like to switch to another pokemon , which I will name later, okay? Um, quick question , how do you hack in a pokemon anyway, just incase I could make it possible to do teddiursa?

December 28th, 2011, 2:31 PM
I skipped a lot of updates, so I'll summarize it all.

Defeated Bugsy
Defeated Whitney after lots of grinding(stupid Miltank)
Defeated Morty
Defeated Chuck
Healed Ampharos at lighthouse and defeated Jasmine
Defeated Pryce
Stormed Rocket HQ in Mahogony Town(before Pryce, my bad)

Time for update two!

-Went and did all the Bill stuff, caught Meowth, my new slave and grinded on the trainers down near Vermilion.
-Boarded the boat, getting in some more levels and an evolution just in time for my rival!
-He didn't know what hit him when I OHKOd his entire team, well other than Secret Power.
-Grabbed Cut from the puking captain and headed to the gym, disabling the trap the first time :D
-Very easy battle, just got Thundershocked by something but in the end, I still annihilated him with Razor Leaf.
-I grabbed my Bicycle and left for Rock Tunnel, which was pathetically easy despite not having Flash (as I don't see possible in a Solo).
-Then battled a load of trainers, grabbed my final slave, Vaporeon, and pwned Team Rocket with my fist.
-Short walk to the gym and after a few naps and paralyzing attacks, I finally claimed my badge from the clutches of women.
-I went to check out the big tower in Lavender, and guess who I met? Chuck Norris.
-Oh wait, I meant to say my rival, who sucked just as bad as last time.
-I climbed the tower, fending off ghosts and ghouls with my CLEEEEEAAAANSE TAAAAAAG!
-Kill'd dem Snorlaxes, ride mah bike and beat dem trainers all up.
-Then took on the Fuchsia City gym after claiming Surf and Strength.
-Poison types just don't take much damage.
-I climbed up Silph Co, wrecked Team Rocket once again and put Giovanni to shame. Again. After I beat my rival, who was worse than Giovanni.
-Took on Saffron's gym, which proved to be more of a challenge that the gym leader who got OHKO'd for each of her pokemon.
-Travelled to Cinnabar, and cleared the dreaded mansion and challenged Blaine to a pokemon battle.
-Three words.
And that was where I stopped.

Frenzy the Venusaur:

Update Three: The end of Kanto!

Completed all of the first three Sevii islands, including defeating Moltres for a little experience.
Went back to Cinnabar, then flew to Viridian to take on the gym leader there, who had his entire team OHKO'd (damage was done by gym trainers)
I healed up and headed for the Pokemon league with my eight badges, but was interrupted!
Despite having become considerably tougher, he still proved to be no match for Frenzy.
I headed into Victory Road, gaining three levels by smashing through a few trainers.
I completely forgot to prepare for the league, except using my eight rare candies, so I simply had two full restores, three full heals, a max potion and a ton of berries.
I then managed to completely own Lorelei with five OHKO's.
Bruno proved to be just as easy, but an unlucky miss against an Onix with Razor Leaf caused me to take a little damage.
Then was Agatha, not powerful, but her Gengars sure knew how to piss me off with Levitate so I could only use Razor Leaf against them.
Lance, I majorly struggled against. I used all my healing items except a full restore (phew), and took him down eventually with a ton of Returns.
Then came the finale. It was me, or my evil rival of doom. His ability severly lacked in comparison to Lance, but there were two troubles I had. The first was Fire Blast. It dealt roughly 150 damage in a single hit, and luckily it missed the second time, so I defeated Charizard. Then came Gyarados, the hellish fiend that continuously ate up Full Restores to waste my time. With a critical Razor Leaf on its last PP, I finally won the battle.

Frenzy the Venusaur, lv. 90:

December 30th, 2011, 1:35 AM
Update #3 on LeafGreen.

Navigated Victory Road, then challenged the Elite Four with Nagini at L80.
Lorelei was easy with Thunder and Rock Slide.
Bruno took some finesse. Both Onix went down to Ice Beam, but the strategy for the fighting types were to try and flinch them with Rock Slide, then finish them off with Secret Power or Thunder. Hitmonchan got in a Sky Uppercut, but both Hitmonlee and Machamp were flinched, thanks to Serene Grace doubling the flinch rate to 60%. Nagini grew to L81.
Agatha was a pain, since Nagini got hit with Toxic and Confuse Ray, so I had to use a Full Restore, but her team went down pretty easily, mostly with Thunder.
Lance was easy. Thunder took care of Gyarados and Aerodactyl, and Ice Beam OHKOed the dragons. Nagini grew to L82.
Then it was time for Potter, who had somehow usurped my run to the top. In a strange alternate reality twist, I was able to devest Potter of his title as the greatest wizard Pokemon trainer in the world!
Here's a video of the epic battle.

Nagini VS Pidgeot: Aerial Ace, Thunder OHKO, Pidgeot fainted!
VS Alakazam: Reflect, Secret Power (Alakazam's paralyzed! Synchronize paralyzed Nagini!), (fully paralyzed!), Secret Power, Alakazam fainted!
VS Exeggutor: Giga Drain, (fully paralyzed!), Giga Drain, Ice Beam, Full Restore (Exeggutor), Ice Beam (critical hit!) OHKO, Exeggutor fainted!
VS Rhydon: Earthquake, Ice Beam OHKO, Rhydon fainted!
VS Gyarados: Hydro Pump, Thunder OHKO, Gyarados fainted!
VS Charizard: Fire Blast, (fully paralyzed!), Hyper Potion (Nagini), Fire Blast, Fire Blast, Rock Slide OHKO, Charizard fainted!
Champion Potter was defeated!

Well, since it won't let me go to Kanto, I guess I'm going to do another. I'll be back later when I've decided what game I want to do.

December 31st, 2011, 11:24 PM
Final Update (#4) on LeafGreen.

Well, first I got the national pokedex from Oak, then headed to the Sevii Islands.
Go the Ruby, then did the whole Rocket Warehouse thing, and got the Sapphire from Gideon.
Trained Nagini a bit more, then used Rare Candies to get to L98.
Now it was time to rechallenge the Elite Four with their upgraded teams.
Lorelei was taken down pretty easily with Rock Slide and Thunder.
Bruno was easier than I thought he was going to be. Body Slam paralysis really helped with the Fighting types, and both Steelix were 2HKOed by Ice Beam.
Agatha once again proved to be difficult, but I did win with sheer power. Nagini grew to L99.
Lance was the easiest fight. Thunder and Ice Beam ruled the day, Kingdra was the only non-OHKO.
Finally it was time for Potter again, who had somehow returned from the dead regained the Champion title (No one told me!).
However, Potter beat me like 4 times, since Tyranitar's Sand Stream negated Nagini's Leftovers, and Nagini would keep getting weaker defensivily (Crunch and Psychic lower Special Defense sometimes), so Nagini would just get worn down.
Finally, Nagini was able to pull it out with some luck (no Sp Def drops!), Nagini grew to L100, and once again I was crowned the greatest wizard Pokemon trainer in the world Kanto!
Here's how the final fight played out, video and play-by-play style.

Nagini VS Heracross: Rock Slide, Counter, Body Slam, Heracross fainted!
VS Alakazam: Calm Mind, Body Slam OHKO, Alakazam fainted!
VS Exeggutor: Ice Beam (critical hit!) OHKO, Exeggutor fainted!
Nagini grew to L100!
VS Tyranitar (Sand Stream): Thunder, Earthquake, Rock Slide, (flinched!), Thunder, Tyranitar fainted!
VS Gyarados (Intimidate): Dragon Dance, Thunder OHKO, Gyarados fainted!
VS Charizard: Max Potion (Nagini), Fire Blast, Fire Blast, Rock Slide OHKO, Charizard fainted!
Champion Potter was defeated!

January 1st, 2012, 9:43 PM
So.... last night me and some friends went and stayed overnight at a friends house. We pretty much did whatever while different people took turns playing Xbox games. I spent a large, large chunk of my time playing SoulSilver (didn't even go to sleep), resulting in a massive update, probably my biggest so far. Unfortunately since I didn't have my phone on me, I couldn't take screenshots for anything in this update. I'll compress it down a bit so it doesn't fill the whole screen. Here it is:

-Started the day at the Elite 4 building, Weedle at level 76.
-Will was first. His Xatu gave me some troubles since he can OHKO me but I can't do the same since Bug is bad against Flying. Eventually I won by making him miss (Brightpowder) so I could use 2 X Special Defenses.
-Koga was pretty easy, I just needed to use 6 X Attacks and a a few X Defs.
-Bruno was really easy, a few X Defenses made him easy to beat.
-Karen was annoying at first since her Gengar kept using Destiny Bond to kill Weedle, eventually I just won by 2HKO'ing her.
-As in LG, Lance was one of the easiest fights. I think I only had to try twice.
-After beating Johto, I got the boat ticket and boarded the Aqua.
-I beat all the trainers on the ship.
-In Vermillion, I beat the gym there.
-Went up to Saffron, took out all 4 gym trainers, and got the Upgrade.
-Went north to Cerulean, beat the 7 trainers to get the nugget, and then flew back to Saffron.
-Went west to Celadon, shopped, beat the gym, and went through Cycling Road beating almost all the trainers there.
-Went to Fuschia, and beat all the gym trainers there.
-Went east, and beat the most of the large quantity of trainers between there and Lavender.
-Got the Expn card at the Kanto radio tower.
-Saved the machine part for the power plant, and returned it.
-Went and caught the wild Snorlax just for the Leftovers.
-Went through Diglett's tunnel
-Beat all the trainers on the surrounding routes.
-Beat the gym trainer in Pewter City, and got the Rainbow Wing.
-Went south from Pallet and talked to Blue on Cinnabar Island.
-Went east from there and got to Seafoam Islands, and beat Blaine.
-Flew to Cerulean, made Misty go be at the gym, beat the trainers and Misty.
-Flew to Fuschia and beat Janine after a few tries.
-Flew to Pewter and beat Brock after a few tries.
-Flew to Saffron and challenged Sabrina. This one was actually kinda hard at first, since both Espeon and Alakazam were able to outspeed and OHKO me. Eventually I realized that if I leveled up once I could outspeed and OHKO Espeon, so I just battled her repeatedly until I could use the Quick Claw on Alakazam.
-Flew to Cinnabar, then Viridian, and challenged Blue. This one was annoying, since I had to try a bunch of times, and the only reason was because he kept getting critical hits. I must've been stuck there for at least 2 hours. As it was, to beat Arcanine I had to Hyper Potion spam and let him kill himself with Flare Blitz recoil.
-After beating Blue, I went to Celadon Mansion to get the GB Sounds (which I registered)
-Then I went to Oak's Lab, where I received the Rock Climb HM, which I taught to my Geodude.
-Next I went to the Celadon Department Store, for a pre-Red shopping trip. After that I had 120 Hyper Potions, 6 of every relevant X item, 30 full heals, and 20 Full Restores.
-Flew to Victory Road, and climbed Mt.Silver.

Now, I am saved in front of Red. Weedle is level 99, and I think I can beat him with some work. When I beat him, I'll post a video of the battle as I did with the Champion in LeafGreen.

EDIT: I've just been wondering out of curiosity: what are the rules for the 7th gym leader in Gen 3? It's a double battle. Up until this point, I've avoided every double battle in LG and HG, except the ones where you team up with Lance. My plan is to bring weedle, and a pokemon with an attack that won't affect the battle (example: swords dance) and have him spam that until he dies. Is that what everyone else does, or do they do something different?

January 2nd, 2012, 1:22 AM
Just finished Sapphire, never posted an original thread. Only took me 6 hours real life time doing 2x emulator speed. Decided to do a Seviper since it's a pokemon I've never really used and could learn decent enough moves to take on the elite four without much hassle. Only hard part was the earthquakes in the elite four. Everything else was a breeze.

I might do a FireRed/LeafGreen.. Don't know if I want to do Seviper again though..

January 3rd, 2012, 12:48 AM
I think I'll start an Ultimate, using Kabutops. I'll start with Firered, then I'll move on to Soulsilver, Ruby, Diamond and White.

January 3rd, 2012, 1:22 AM
Continuing on with my Dunsparce USC.

Update #1 on Crystal.

Name: Voldy
Rival: Weasley (Red hair, lol)
Starter: Dunsparce (replaced Chikorita), named Nagini.

Screenshot Party!

Made sure Nagini was a female this time around (and will continue to be so).

Rage is a pretty good move, especially since Nagini gets STAB.

Nagini's still Ragin'.

Really needed that Mud-Slap TM for Gastly, lol.

Nagini's still Ragin'!

Now Nagini has Headbutt, which leads to shorter fights.

Dig helps a lot now.

Nagini sweeps with Dig and two Hypnosis misses by Gengar.

Now Nagini is just overleved.

DynamicPunch screwed Nagini the first fight, but she fought through the confusion the second time. Headbutt still rocks.

This was tough as well. The Magnemite were no problem with Dig, but Steelix's gargantuan defense and Iron Tail lowering Nagini's Defense led to a loss, and I still had to heal the second time.
I'm currently saved in the Rocket Hideout in Mahogany Town.

Team Voldy:
Nagini the Sassy Dunsparce, ♂ - L44 @ Quick Claw
Moves: Headbutt, Rollout, Glare, Dig

Hoothoot - Flash, Fly
Poliwag - Surf
Sandshrew - Cut, Rock Smash, Strength

January 3rd, 2012, 5:56 AM
I'm about to enter Victory Road with my buddy Slasher. I've gained a new respect for Kabutops. He's pretty awesome.

Team Phon:
Slasher lvl 76
No Item
Aerial Ace, Rock Slide, Dig, Surf

Ch'Ding: Cut, Fly
Meowth: Cut, Flash
Gyarados: Surf, Rock Smash, Strength

January 3rd, 2012, 9:49 PM
And just beat Blue version with a Kangaskhan! I'm about to do a Gold runthrough but idk what pokemon I should choose. I plan on beating red with this also.

Here are the finals with kangaskhan!

only use 1 full restore and then an elixer throughout the elite four and the champion. easy mode.

January 4th, 2012, 3:15 AM
For FR/LG, is it required to beat the Elite 4 the second time?

January 4th, 2012, 7:55 AM
For FR/LG, is it required to beat the Elite 4 the second time?

No, that's only required in Gen 5.

January 4th, 2012, 8:34 AM
I'm going to do the challenge with Pokemon Crystal. I'll use Cyndaquil on my quest.
I'll try to post a progress after playing every time. Thanks!

January 4th, 2012, 9:03 AM
Am I allowed to Video it? :D

I'm gonna do a Pokemon LG Run with Snorlax Lvl 1. Just so you know, I'm only gonna hack in the Snorlax, nothing else. :D

January 5th, 2012, 2:32 AM

January 5th, 2012, 5:04 PM
Update #2 on Crystal.

I'm done with Johto, time for the Kanto half.

More screenshots for you guys.

Did the Rocket Hideout, then took on Pryce.

More Team Rocket Stuff. I beat Weasley again, then took down the leader. Taught Return to Nagini.

http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/8763/ultsolo4weasley4.png http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/316/ultsolo4rocket.png

Made my way over to Blackthorn City, where I beat Clair easily with Return.

Bought Thunder from the Game Corner, then surfed over to Victory Road, where Weasley went down.

Took on the Elite Four.
Will: Thunder for both Xatu & Slowbro, Return for Jynx & Exeggutor.

Koga: Rollout for Ariados (Giga Drain) & Venomoth, Thunder for Forretress & Crobat (Double Team, 2 Wing Attacks), Dig for Muk.

Bruno: Return for the 3 Hitmons (only Mach Punch), 2 Thunders for Machamp (Cross Chop), 2 Digs for Onix (Sandstorm, Earthquake).

Karen: Return for Umbreon, Rollout for Vileplume (Stun Spore), Gengar (who Cursed me), and Murkrow (Faint Attack), Dig for Houndoom (used Flamethrower).

Lance was last, and he was the hardest fight as usual.

Thunder easily beat Gyarados, but the first Dragonite got Nagini with Thunder Wave, and after Rollout took down 2 Dragonite, Aerodactyl, and Charizard, I had to heal Nagini, and finally beat the final Dragonite with Thunder and Return.

Nagini entered the Hall of Fame!

I'm currently saved at home.

Team Voldy:
Nagini the Dunsparce, ♀ - L68 @ Pink Bow
Moves: Return, Rollout, Thunder, Dig

Hoothoot - Flash, Fly
Poliwag - Surf, Whirlpool, Waterfall
Sandshrew - Cut, Rock Smash, Strength

January 5th, 2012, 11:21 PM
Going to take a break with my Granbull Gold solo. I've never played Gen 4 so I downloaded a DS Emulator and did a random number generator and got
No. 160 which according to http://www.serebii.net/platinum/sinnohdex.shtml is Gallade.

So I just hacked in a Ralts (lvl 1) so I will have to train it to level 6 so it can learn confusion. Then I will get started!

Crystal LOG:

I've gotten a call from Prof. Elm, he wanted to see me right away. When I got there, Elm told me about another rarity from mr. Pokemon and gave me a Cyndaquil. I called him Willow, he's the definition of cute ^^. Okay, I've set out on my journey to mr. Pokemon to discover what the rarity was. On the way, I trained Willow to lv. 9. When I got there, I discovered that the rarity was an egg. I took the egg back, battled a red head without a brain (I won, yay!) and went back to Elm. Once there, I discovered that a Totodile was stolen! The same totodile that the red head had. I gave the officer that was there the name of the red head: Douche (I couldn't think of a better name, I'm so stupid) and went away to challenge all the gyms in Johto!

January 7th, 2012, 4:55 PM
Final Update (#3) on Crystal.

Before going to Kanto, I taught Nagini Flamethrower, then got on the SS Aqua.
Beat all the Kanto gym leaders, got Nagini to L95, then beat Red.

January 11th, 2012, 2:59 PM
Started Emerald.

Name: Voldy
Starter: Treeko

After I got Treeko, I hacked in a Dunsparce egg, with Bite as an egg move. Named her Nagini as usual.
Beat May, then made my way through Petalburg City and Forest.
Took on Roxanne, who fell to Bite. Lots of flinching too, thanks to Serene Grace.
After saving Peeko, beating May, and delivering Steven's letter, Brawly was up.
This was so tough, since Machop kept using Bulk Up instead of attacking (for Rage to gain power), Meditite only used Focus Punch, and Makuhita does a lot of damage with Vital Throw. I probably should have skipped this fight until later. Finally I was able to break through with Rage after many many tries.
Landed in Slateport and went north, where I beat May again.
Saved in Mauville City.

I'm going to do this with Gardevoir in HG after my other challenges.

January 19th, 2012, 7:35 PM
Hey guys I have a question. This is my first pokemon challenge so I don't know the rule for this. Is it ok to play two games in an ultimate solo challenge simultaneously? The reason Im asking is because in Gen 2, I've been stuck on the battle against Red for 19 days now, and I can only play at home (unlike normally) since I want to film that battle. So I thought, what if I could play thru Gen 3 while I try to beat him, and then go back to normal after that. Is that allowed?

I came back to playing after a bunch of my friends started playing. But to get down to business, I finished up a Maganium solo run. Yep all the way to Red beaten and not really dead, but done.

I'll try this in my spare time. Might go for ultimate, but not right now.

Game: Platinum
Pokémon: Eevee (currently trying to get my game to work on the emulator so I can get an egg, gonna get Flail and Endure as egg moves)

May not post updates very regularly, but I'll try to

Edit: After a while of trying to get things to work, I finally got my egg, I got pretty lucky in that the first female I got was also shiny (cos I totally didn't influence that at all ;)). Transferred the egg into my new save file and I was ready to go. Hatched it, and nicknamed my new Eevee "Eon" (I imagine a few people will recognize that as Eevee's beta name). She is level 1 (obviously, due to the egg changes in gen IV) so we are gonna need to do some training before she is ready to fight, luckily I thought ahead and taught her Flail and Endure as egg moves!. In case anyone was wondering, I checked her hidden power, and it is ice type. I intend to evolve her into either Umbreon or Espeon, and will leave it up to fate to decide which (though I'd prefer Umbreon, its always been my favourite Eeveelution).

Edit 2: The prof seems to be getting confused in his old age, not only does he think he gave me an Eevee (he gave me Piplup, which seems to have disappeared) he also thinks it has evolved! Eevee doesn't even have a pre-evolved form! But anyway, he gave me the TM for Return, and so I replaced Helping Hand (pretty useless with one Pokémon). Eon is now at Level 5, and we are heading back home to let Mom know that Prof. Rowan has asked us to help him complete the Pokédex, and thus our journey begins.

Edit 3:

This might be rather long, I just started typing it in notepad as I was playing, I haven't even checked how long it is...I dread to think

We rushed home as quickly as we could, jumping over ledges to avoid battles, which would slow us down. When we got home, Mom let us rest and we told her about Prof. Rowan. She gave us a Journal and sent us off on our journey. But as we were about to leave the house, Samm's Mom came in looking for him, he hadn't told her where he was going! She was worried, and gave me a parcel for him. She told us that Samm would probably be in Jubilife City, so we decided to head there next. On the way back to Sandgem Town, we got attacked by a couple of Bidoof and a Starly, but Eon quickly took care of them with Return. In Sandgem we healed up at the Pokémon Center to replenish PP, and then headed south to Route 219. We couldn't really progress here, as neither of us could swim, so we grabbed an antidote that was on the ground and headed north. When we arrived in Route 202, we were stopped by Dawn, the Professor's assistant. She took us into the long grass and showed us how to catch a Pokémon. She gave us five Pokéballs, which will probably come in handy later. She then headed off to Jubilife City, and we decided to follow her, after all, thats where we were headed anyway. We got stopped by a couple trainers who challenged us to battles, but Eon took care of them easily with Return, and grew to level 6. After a quick battle with a wild Bidoof, we got challenged by another trainer, and I was glad I had just healed Eon with a Potion I got given by a Pokémart clerk on route 201. He had a Burmy, which we hadn't seen before. A couple of Returns later, Eon defeated it, and grew to level 7. A youngster informed us that some Pokémon only appear in the day, and some at night. We got attacked by another Bidoof, which was quickly taken care of, and found a potion on the ground. We finally arrived in Jubilife City and were greeted by Dawn, I guess she had seen us following her and waited. She asked us if we'd been catching Pokémon, and seemed disappointed when we hadn't. For now Eon and I are fine by ourselves though. She told us to go to the Pokémon Trainer's School to learn a bit about Pokémon, and we decided that it would be a good idea, so followed her. Dawn stopped when she saw an unusual man, and we walked up to him. He announced that he was a member of the International Police, though I'd never heard of them before. He told us his codename was Looker, and he asked us if the phrase "don't be a thief!" seemed familiar. We hadn't heard it before, so answered no. He didn't seem to understand this, and assumed our Mom had told us it, but we had forgotten it. He told us it was wrong to steal things, which we knew anyway. However he informed us that there were people who didn't heed those words, and that there were criminals in Sinnoh stealing the Pokémon of others. Naturally we were horrified, how could anyone be so horrible! After letting us know he was investigating these criminals, he gave Dawn and I devices called "Vs. Recorder". Apparently it is for recording Pokémon battles. He told us that if we saw him again, we shouldn't talk to him, then changed his mind and said we MUST talk to him. Of course we were quite confused, but he promptly explained that we should inform him of any bad guys, and that he was of course not lonely, and that isn't why he wanted us to talk to him. He then ran off and Dawn showed us where the Trainer School was. Apparently she had seen Samm go in, and he was probably still in there studying. That was even more reason to go, we could deliver his parcel. We told her we'd check it out. She said goodbye and headed back to Sandgem Town. Samm was of course still in the Trainer School, writing down everything on the blackboard. We saw an X Attack on the floor, so picked it up. We spoke to Samm and gave him his parcel. Inside were two Town Maps, he kept one and gave the other to me. He told us he was gonna head off to Oreburgh City next. We weren't sure where that was, so decided to check it on our new Town Map. It was quite close, and had a Pokémon Gym, so it would be perfect for some training! Samm ran off (as usual) and we decided to fight a couple of trainers in the School. The first had a Starly, and managed to get in a Quick Attack before Eon KOd it with Return. The second had a Bidoof, which was taken down with Return before it even damaged Eon. Eon grew to level 8 and wanted to learn Sand Attack, but I was happy with her current moves for now, so we decided against learning it. After beating both the trainers, they gave us a Potion, claiming we'd be better at using it than them. We were heading towards Oreburgh City when we were stopped by a man who insulted us for not having something called a Pokétch. He then explained that it was short for Pokémon Watch, and that it was something he had invented. He said that he was currently running a promotional campaign, and that if we could find three clowns and answer their questions, he would give us a free Pokétch. It seemed like a good deal, so we searched for the clowns and found them easily. Their questions were relatively simple, and when we told them the right answer, they told us some trivia and gave us a Pokétch Coupon. We needed all 3 to get the Pokétch, so answered all 3 questions. When we had the necessary coupons, we went back to the man, who gave us a Pokétch as promised. Then we headed off to Route 203, which was on the way to Oreburgh City. Samm stopped us, and I wished we'd gone to a Pokémon Center first, but Eon was raring to go, so we accepted Samm's request for a quick battle. His first Pokémon was a Starly, level 7, just one level below Eon. We knew we could take it on though, so Eon went straight in with a Return, but Starly was quicker, and hit Eon with a quick attack. Eon wasn't bothered, and carried on with her attack, getting a critical hit! Starly was pretty low on HP now, so Eon used a Tackle. Starly was KOd, and Samm sent out his Turtwig. This was level 9, a level above Eon. If she was scared by this, she didn't show it. She went right in with a return, and was surprised by Turtwig's high defence, which only got higher when it used Withdraw. Eon used another Return, and got Turtwig down to half HP. She got hit with a Tackle, but didn't take much damage. She flew back with another Return, her adrenaline pumping, and scored a critical hit! This KOd Turtwig, and Eon grew to level 9. Samm was really upset that he lost, and vowed never to lose to us again. He said he was going to be the worlds toughest trainer, and Eon burst out laughing. Surprised by this, Samm said he was going to Oreburgh Gym, and would beat it to prove how strong he was. He ran off without even healing his Pokémon! Eon and I headed back to the Pokémon Center to heal up. Our battle with Samm made me realize that Eon needed to train if we wanted to beat that Gym. However Eon didn't seem worried at all, in fact she was raring to challenge the Gym right there and then! I managed to convince her to train, and we headed back to Route 203. There were a few trainers there, so we decided to challenge them to battles. The first was a Youngster who was hiding out the way. He had two Pokémon, a Kricketot and a Zubat. We had never seen either of them before, so knew this would be an interesting battle! Both were taken down with a single Return, so it wasn't as interesting as we hoped, but Eon didn't care, she was loving how easily she took them down. We picked up a Pokéball off the ground and headed to the next trainer. It was another Youngster, this one had a Shinx, another new Pokémon. Eon flew in with a Return and was hit with Leer. A quick Tackle and this battle was over. Eon grew to level 10, and was pleased with how quickly she was levelling up. The next trainer was also a Youngster, this one was training for the Oreburgh Gym, just like us. He had a Machop, another Pokémon we hadn't seen before. It looked pretty strong, but was two levels below Eon, so she was even more confident than usual. A Return took it down to half HP, and it used Low Kick. I then realized our mistake, this was a Fighting Type, and Eon was weak to Fighting Type moves! Luckily she didn't take too much damage, and was still raring to fight. Another Return and it was over. I decided it would be best to head back to the Pokémon Center, just in case. Eon of course didn't want to go, she thought she was fine as she was. I convinced her to go, and we were attacked by a Starly on the way. It was only level 4, so it was a quick battle. We got back to the Pokémon Center and Eon was fully healed. I could tell she was glad, but she was trying not to show it. Back on Route 203 we were attacked by a wild Shinx, remembering how easy they were to defeat, Eon used a Return and was shocked when it survived with 1 HP. I decided this might be a good time to catch a Pokémon for HMs, so checked it on my Bulbapedia...I mean Pokédex. It could only learn Strength (oddly, as it is known as the Flash Pokémon, yet cannot learn Flash), so we decided to pass on it for now. Eon took it down with a Tackle. We spotted a Lass searching for Pokémon and challenged her to a battle. She had 4 Pokémon. Her first, a Bidoof, was taken down with a single return. Her second was a Budew, a kind we hadn't seen before, it too was taken down with a single Return. Eon grew to level 11 in time for her third Pokémon, a Starly. This was also taken down with a single return, and we moved on to her final Pokémon, an Abra. This of course also only took a single Return. The last trainer on the route was another Lass. This one said she had gotten the badge from Oreburgh Gym, so we were keen to challenge her. She had one Pokémon, a Psyduck. This was another Pokémon we hadn't seen before. Eon started with a Return and took it down to really low HP, so went for a Tackle to finish it off. Another battle down, and route 203 clear of trainers. There was only one way to go from here, into a cave. Eon was still in good health, so we decided to head in straight away. As soon as we got in the cave, a man stopped us and gave us HM06 Rock Smash. There were also a couple trainers in there. The first had two Pokémon. His first, a Starly, was taken down in a single Return. His second, a Shinx, quickly followed suit. Eon grew to level 12. The second had only one Pokémon, a Bidoof. It managed to survive Eon's Return, so she attacked it with a Tackle and brought it down. When we had defeated both trainers we were right by the exit, so quickly headed out...Right outside was Oreburgh City! We were stopped by a Youngster who took us straight to the Gym...where Samm was waiting outside. I went over to him and he said that the Gym Leader was tough, and trailed off after contemplating how the Gym Leader compared to his Dad. He told me the Leader had gone off to the coal mine, so if we wanted to challenge him, we'd have to go find him. But I was getting tired, so we decided to head to the Pokémon Center and rest for a couple hours. Later on we'll be finding the Leader and challenging him to a battle!

Forgive me if I went on a bit there haha...anyways, Eon and I will be challenging the Gym later, I need a break from battling and my 3DS needs charging! Hopefully you all like the personality I've given Eon, I realized after I'd started writing her personality that she had the Sassy nature, so it's pretty fitting! I'm intently watching Sinnoh get darker as I type this, will be training Eon a lot later, I want her to Evolve into an Umbreon! I've also chosen my HM Slaves, it took me a lot of research, and I realized i could get all 8 HMs on a Bibarel and a Tropius, but you don't get Tropius till quite late in the game, so I'm going for: Bibarel - Cut, Surf, Strength, Rock Smash, Bibarel - Rock Climb, Waterfall, Starly - Fly, Defog

Alrighty, the first half of Unova is done. I beat Drayden for my final badge, then blasted through Victory Road, the Elite Four, and the last two battles against N and Ghetsis.

Quick update from notes I scribbled down after I realized I hadn't come back to Platinum last night and did some training:

Eon and I were shocked to see sunlight through the Pokémon Center window. Clearly we had fallen asleep! We had intended to do a full training schedule last night, and Eon seemed pretty disappointed that we had missed it. We rushed to Route 207, determined to make up for lost time. There were plenty of Pokémon to see here, most of which Eon took down with ease. A wild Ponyta managed to get in a hit before it got KOd, but Eon didn't mind, she took it down with a single Return anyway, and grew to level 13. We decided to head back to Oreburgh City and talk to everyone there, someone may have something that would come in handy for the Gym Leader. A Hiker informed me that the Gym Leader was a young man called Roark, and that he ran the mine. Another trainer told me Roark used Rock-Type Pokémon. I naturally got worried by this, Rock-Types had high defence, and were resistant to Eon's attacks! Eon didn't share my worry though, she would have battled him right then if he was in his Gym. One guy wanted to trade an Abra for my Machop, but I didn't have one, so I told him I'd pass for now. Everyone seemed really nice, but didn't have any interesting information for me (though one remarked at Eon's fur colour, he had never seen a silver Eevee before). A few people mentioned that the mine would be a good place to train, so we decided to head there next. On the way we decided to do some exploring. We found a Dire Hit and something called a Yellow Shard. Then we headed into the mine. The first thing we noticed was how big it was, the second was that it was teeming with Geodude (we got attacked by one as soon as we walked through the door!). These Pokémon were really annoying, as they had high defence which they made even higher with Defence Curl. Eon took most of them down with two Returns anyway. A Miner told us that some of the other Miners may challenge us to battles. We decided to try and find these Miners, but not yet. We wrote in our Journal (You're reading it!), and had a rest in a nearby house. Training could wait a little bit.

Not a particularly long update, but there will be another one later.

Edit: I've decided that when I buy Pokémon Black later (yeah, I'm still stuck in Gen IV) I'm gonna go through that with just Eon too (luckily I have a copy of her Egg!)

I'm going to do an Ultimate Solo Challenge [Blue / Silver / Sapphire / Pearl / Black] with:

January 31st, 2012, 5:55 PM
Hey I am gonna do a Ultimate Solo Run I am not gonna do huge updates lol just pics and summary

Game: Leafgreen, Ruby, HeartGold, White
Pokemon: Machamp

January 31st, 2012, 10:26 PM
Well I started Sapphire with Weedle. I would've chosen Emerald, but then I would've had to deal with trade restrictions, which is the main reason it took me this long to start. Here's how it went.

-Started my adventure, naming myself Kirby as usual.
-Chose Torchic as my starter, and got through the boring starting stuff.
-Once I could trade, I traded over a Weedle egg from LeafGreen (the parent of that egg is the Weedle I used for the first game of this challenge).
-Hatched it, and made my way to Rustboro.
-Beat every trainer I can face atm, except for a double battle and the first gym leader.
-Thats pretty much where I am now, Weedle is level 15 I think. I have pictures of his level 5 stats, but I'm posting from my 3DS atm. Since the first leader is both strong and supereffective against me (again) I'll need to grind to beat this. Once Weedle is sufficiently overleveled, I probably won't have to grind for a while, if at all. At least I can EV train, since Lotad gives out Sdef while Nincada gives out Def.

Me and TheChamp blew through brock like he was just sand! Fighting types this early is easy.

Misty was pretty easy too only because she didn't have confusion or anything so easy win there as well.

Yeah easy mode.

It was thepokemonloveme in johto(heartgold) with the mareep/ampharos

February 2nd, 2012, 5:06 PM
Erika was really annoying cause of the status problems but otherwise it was fairly easy mostly because im overleveled.

February 2nd, 2012, 10:29 PM
Starting a pokemon Crystal solo with Kingdra! I'll record and upload gym and E4 battles.

Edit: I somehow can't upload vids, so I will just run through the game with the speed button ;D.

Final Update (#5) on Black!

Well, the postgame was real fast and easy since I only had one Pokemon, and Fireheart could handle the high levels no problem.
Anyway, I ended up getting him to L97 before taking on Morimoto and Cynthia, and I also taught Fireheart Wild Charge in place of Crunch.
Morimoto was real easy, he doesn't have any real threats to Fire heart.
Cynthia took several tries, however, because of Garchomp. I ended up having to use an X Attack on Fireheart for a safe win against Cynthia.
Now it was time for the Elite Four again, so I taught Fireheart Fire Blast.
Most of the Elite Four didn't give Fireheart any trouble aside from Marshall (damn Sawk with Sturdy and a crit Stone Edge), Fireheart was just too overpowering. He did have a bit of recoil damage due to Wild Charge, especially against Shauntal and Grimsley.
Alder was easy as well, although I did lose once to Volcarona, who crit with a +1 Hyper Beam.
Here's the video and play-by-play of the win. I chuckled at the Hyper Beam miss.

Fireheart VS Accelgor: Fire Blast (miss!), Focus Blast, Fire Blast OHKO, Accelgor fainted!
VS Bouffalant: Close Combat OHKO, Bouffalant fainted!
Fireheart grew to L100!
VS Escavalier: Fire Blast OHKO, Escavalier fainted!
VS Volcarona: ExtremeSpeed, Quiver Dance, Hyper Beam (miss!), Fire Blast, Volcarona fainted!
VS Druddigon: Fire Blast (burned!), Outrage (critical hit!), ExtremeSpeed, Druddigon fainted!
VS Vanilluxe: Fire Blast OHKO, Vanilluxe fainted!
Champion Alder was defeated!
Morimoto and Cynthia:

Now it's time for my next USC to continue in Unova with Palin the Garafarig!

Update #1 on Black.

Name: Gerry
Starter: Girafarig

Made Girafarig my starter in place of Snivy, who shares a Bug weakness, and named him Palin (short for Palindrome, ofc). Shiny FTW.
The first gym was real easy, although being weak to Dark is annoying.
The second gym was easy as well, though I did have a scary moment when Watchog used Crunch and almost killed Palin.
I am saved in Pinwheel Forest, about to crush Team Plasma.

Yeah, the beginning of this game is a bit boring, as an FE Pokemon destroys everything stat wise.
LOL, I just noticed that Palin's HP bar against Lenora is 9/69, which is...a palindrome! LOL.

I started a solo run with Ralts/Kirlia/Gardevoir in HG without posting it on here so I'll just post what I've done so far.
-Chikorita was my starter and I hacked in a Lvl. 6 Ralts since that's when it learns Confusion.
-Did the Mr. Pokemon stuffs.
-After I beat my rival the first time, I went to Violet City.
-Sprout Tower thing was easy with my Ralts.
-Falkner got destroyed by +6 evasion Ralts. Double Team FTW.
-Double Team is my most useful move as it saved me from being OHKO'd by Bugsy's Scyther.
-Bugsy was defeated easily after Scyther was taken care of.
-Rival Devyonn was destroyed after a tough battle. Luna's(Kirlia's) Quiet nature doesn't help the Speed.
-Ilex Forest was quick with two Repels after getting Cut.
-Got CUT, my Oddish who knows Cut.
-Met Ethan at the Day-Care.
-Defeated all the trainers I could before fighting Whitney.
-Got to Level 6 of Voltorb Flip before losing... So hard... ;-;
-The gym was relatively easy. Whitney was annoying. I got +6 evasion, Sp. Atk., and Sp. Def. when Clefairy used Metronome which turned into Power Swap. I had to build up the Sp. Atk. again. Miltank was, however, easy.
-Ecruteak, saved the strong Kimono Girl who didn't want to battle.
-Ecruteak, met Eusine and Morty.
-Didn't expect the battle with Devyonn in the Burned Tower. However, I won after two lucky hits with Confusion. Luna's stats: +6 evasion, Sp. Atk., Sp. Def. -6 Accuracy
-Just beat the first trainer in the gym and Luna evolved!

My amazing one woman-band!

I'm finally getting back to doing that Poliwag → Poliwrath solo on Blue.

Restarting it though because I didn't like the names :)

Update #1:
-Named myself Green, rival Grey.

Update #4 on Black.

The Elite Four weren't very hard, although I did need to use a Max Potion against Caitlin and Grimsley.
N was pretty easy, only used 1 Max Potion.
Ghetsis required 2 Max Potions because of Hydregion, but Palin still was a boss.
Postgame is up next. To level 100 we go!

I beat the game! This means I beat Red.
-I beat the E4 easily, switching Magical Leaf with Focus Blast on Karen.
-Credits rolled...
-Beat the eight Kanto gyms and explored the whole area.
-Red was a pain! I lost like 10 times before getting a good enough strategy to beat him. Here is a play-by-play account:
Pikachu: Right out of the ball, he used a Volt Tackle. Luna had 20 HP left and used Psychic. Pikachu fainted.
Snorlax: Max Potion before he used Blizzard. I used Hypnosis and missed. Strangely, he used Blizzard again. Max Potion. Crunch. Max Potion. Crunch. I took a risk and used Hypnosis. It worked and I used a Max Potion. Then I used one Calm Mind before finishing it off with a Focus Blast.
Lapras: I used Calm Mind and Lapras used Body Slam. I got paralyzed but Synchronize kicked in and we were both paralyzed. I was able to use another Calm Mind. Body Slam. Full Restore. Lapras couldn't move. Calm Mind. Lapras couldn't move. Focus Blast OHKO.
Charizard: Flare Blitz right out of the box again! Psychic kill. Luna had 2 HP after Hail kicked in.
Venusaur: First thing I did, Max Potion. Venusaur used something that did around 10 damage. I didn't see because I was excited. I could actually win! Psychic OHKO.
Blastoise: Psychic FTW!

I have tried posting this like 8 times now!!!!!!
I cleared Ruby and LeafGreen with my Blaziken(Fury)
In Leaf Green i had some problems because torchic wouldnt evolve because i didnt have the national dex. I finally found the script needed for it and put it in game. After recieving the national Dex i had no problems until i reached the elite four. The game script read it as me already beating them once because i had the national Dex so i had to get the ruby and sapphire from the islands and beat the rockets there before continuing on to the elite four. I could easily get to lance but his gyrados demoslished me every time. i eventually got enough XP and reached lv. 95 and then used the 5 rare candies i had found to get to 100.
Ill be starting heartgold sometime in the future, just not sure when cause im currently trying to organize a team for the international tournament on my hard copy of white.

I've done this a few times, and I would say that it's much, much harder to raise a team of Pokemon than to use just one. In fact, the way that I usually raise a team is by using just one Pokemon and exp.sharing the rest. Anyone else feel this way?

I'd like to do an Ultimate Solo Run with my Golduck. I'll probably be using Fire Red, Silver, Ruby, Diamond and Black. I'll start playing right away so I can get to updating soon.

Yeah, it's much easier to complete the games with one Pokémon, but I like the idea of just using one. I usually only Exp. share Pokémon that get added to the team at a low level.

Chose Squirtle as my starter.
Got my Psyduck and named it Perry.
Trained him to level 16 for Brock (I needed Confusion as Psyduck doesn't learn any water moves aside from Hydro Pump, seriously annoying).
Beat Brock after only two tries.
Owned Mt. Moon with my over leveled Psyduck.
Defeated Gary for the first time after 6 or 7 tries (I forgot Bulbasaur was weak to Confusion, stupid me).
Took on Misty after getting the SS Ticket from Bill, defeated her after the fourth try and thought Perry TM03 Water Pulse (Finally a Water Move!!).

Ultimate Solo Challenge Update #15 with Weedle

So after Christmas, I took a bit of a break from Pokemon in order to play the new games I got. Now I'm back, and ready to continue this challenge. The reason this update is so big is because this is multiple days worth of playing, I usually stop playing for the day late at night so I'm too tired to update then. When I last updated, I was stuck at the first gym in Sapphire, since it's the rock gym.

-I decided that Gen 3 would be hard enough that I needed to EV train Weedle. I didn't have any way of speeding it along such as vitamins, so that in itself took me multiple days.
-Afterwards I beat the first gym with little effort, I believe I was around level 25 at the time.
-Took the boat to Dewford, and beat the gym there. Fighting pokemon usually are very easy for Weedle to beat.
-Went through the cave, and caught a Sableye as an HM Slave.
-Talked to Steven and left.
-Took the boat to Slateport, beat the beach trainers, and talked to everyone in town.
-After the story events there finished, I went north, beating most of the trainers (all but one guy who had a steel pokemon. poison doesn't affect steel).
-Arrived at Mauville and got the Acro Bike.
-Went into the gym and beat some of the trainers. I got into a situation where I needed to leave and heal, but I had to go through a trainer that had a Magnemite first. Since I couldn't hurt him, I had to let him beat me and take my money.
-Went into a nearby field and wasted all the PP for both of Weedle's attacks so I could affect Wattson's steel guys with Struggle.
-Beat all the trainers I could east and west of Mauville, and continued on north.
-Beat most of the trainers there, except one guy with 4 Geodudes. I went back and beat him later on.
-Beat the trainers on the route with the falling ash, and got to Fallarbor town.
-Continued west, and beat trainers all the way down to Meteor Falls.
-Team Aqua took the meteor and left. I'm really glad I picked Sapphire over Ruby, fighting Aqua's Carvanhas is much easier than fighting Magma's Numels with a Weedle.
-Went to the volcano, and beat the Aqua guys there. Archie required the use of X Attack and X Defend to beat, that got me a little worried about the rest of the game.
-Went south to Lavaridge. I beat the gym trainers.
-When I got to Flannery, her first Slugma kept beating me on his own. Over the course of a day I beat her. I wasted my PP so I could two-shot the first Slugma while he set up Sunny Day. The second one messed up and used Light Screen insted of Flamethrower. One of my attacks did less damage than usual as well, but the end result was that I had almost no health and Sunny Day was over. Torkoal came out and I spammed Super Potions, got up some X Defends and X Attacks, and once he -6'd his own Special Attack with Overheat, we had a slapping fight with Body Slam vs. Struggle. I won.
-Went to Petalburg, and fought just enough of the rooms to get to Norman. Poisoned + Super Potion stall took care of his Slakings.
-Got Surf. I only just got Cut a bit before this, I had forgotten where to get it.
-Surfed east of Mauville, and went north on the route there.
-Beat every trainer on the route, except one dumb trainer with a Shroomish that I couldn't beat because of Leech Seed.
-Saved the Weather Institute. Not having played Gen 3 for a while before this run, I figured I could just run to Fortree before saving. But no, I had to fight May and I lost. I went and wasted all my PP so I could kill her Shroomish faster, only to see that her Shroomish decided not to use Leech Seed and let me win pretty much.
-Got to Fortree. After going and getting the Devon Scope from Steven, I ran from the Kecleon and entered the gym. As usual, all of the gym trainers that aren't the leader lost easily.
-Since the gym leader was fairly strong, I ignored her for now, and beat every trainer between there and Lilycove except for a double battle.
-Fought May in Lilycove after talking to almost everyone else. Since she sent Shroomish out last, she was fairly easy this time.
-Stocked up at the department store, and went back to Fortree.
-Since Winona has a Skarmory, I wasted all my PP. After 2 X Attacks and Defends, her team lost rather easily for a supereffective gym.
-Went to Mt. Pyre and beat almost all the trainers inside.
-Beat the Aqua guys on top, and went back to Lilycove.
-Flew to Slateport and talked to Captain Stern. I thought I had to do that to make the Wailmers move, and I thought they were blocking the Aqua base.
-Entered the Aqua base. I'm kinda surprised at how small it is compared to the various Rocket hideouts in Gens 1 and 2.
-Got the Master Ball, and beat the Admin (he was a joke).
-Surfed east to Mossdeep, and beat the trainers in the gym other than the leaders.
-Went and caught a level 5 Magikarp, flew back to Mossdeep, and put everyone in the PC except Magikarp and Weedle. Magikarp's purpose is to use Splash during the leader battle (since it's a double battle and I have to have 2 guys) so that Weedle is the only one contributing anything except that Magikarp takes one hit for Weedle.
-However, this is the gym where I have to fight two pokemon at once, and both are supereffective against me. I'm probably going to have to grind to beat this. Right now, Weedle is level 58.

I also have screenshots of each gym leader victory so far, and a few other important battles, but since I play on an actual GBA I had to take them with my 3DS and a DSi so I'll post them once I upload them off of there.

Episode 2

Continued my way towards Vermilion City
Traded Spearow for Farfetch'd
Boarded the SS Anne to get the HM Cut, Perry evolved.
Thaught Farfetch'd Cut
Did a little backtracking and went to get some items in Pewter City (ex.: Old Amber)
Took on Lt. Surge and beat him at the first try (He should be the hardest one with Perry, but he was the easiest 'till now)
Battled my way through Route 9 and reached the Rock Tunnel
Took on the Rock Tunnel too and with Perry at Lv. 42-43 that was a breeze. I didn't even need potions or anything like that. I was only in danger of running out of PP, so I stopped battling every wild Pokémon I ran in to.
Once in Lavender Town I defeated Gary in the Pokémon Tower and I went on to Celadon City
Defeated Erika. OHKO'd two of her Pokémon, that stupid Vileplume stayed alive with only 5 HP.

Day 2 (Last night):

- Blasted my way through the Trick House and received a Rare Candy.
- Quickly disposed of my rival May on Route 110.
- Vulcan learned Take Down at level 31.
- Obtained the Macho Brace.
- Defeated Watson with ease. Fire > Steel.
- Connected Rustboro City and Mauville City.
- Vulcan evolved into a Rapidash at level 40.
- Made my way into Fallarbor Town.
- Chased Team Magma out of Meteor Falls.
- Took the lift up to Mt. Chimney and retrieved the meteorite.
- Made my way down to Lavaridge Town, entered the gym, destroyed everyone as usual, and took on Flannery. Her Torkoal used attract and I had a bit tougher time taking it down, but I eventually got through it just because I'm overleveled.
- Went back to Mauville City and went down the cycling road for some extra experience on my way back to Petalburg for the fifth gym.
- Rolled through all the gym trainers and faced my dad. Rolled through his Pokemon mostly by using stomp. I did have to use two super potions though because I fell asleep through a yawn and those focus punches hurt a bit.
- Vulcan learned Bounce at level 50.
- Turned the generator off for Watson in Mauville.
- Defeated Team Magma at the Weather Institute and retrieved Castform. I crossed the bridge and completely obliterated May with L.55 Vulcan.
- Got the Devon Scope from Steven and headed to the sixth gym. Went through all the trainers to get to Winona. She didn't give me any troubles at all.
- Saved

I kind of screwed this up on accident, but Ponyta/Rapidash's moveset is weak from the beginning, so I might have a hard time later on with such small PP moves.

- Continued my trek into Lilycove City. I met up with May and OHKO'd all of her pokemon.
- Obtained the Red Orb from Mt. Pyre.
- Caught SoFly the Wingull for flying purposes. Flew back to Slateport City to discover Team Magma jacked the submarine. Those thugs...
- As a result, I flew back to Lilycove City and headed to the Magma Hideout to thwart their plans!
- Obtained dive from Steven and then headed into the seventh gym to fight Liza and Tate. Even at level 64, Vulcan was no match for their Lunatone and Solrock. I just don't have any effective moves on them. Time to level grind I suppose. Went back with a different strategy and wrecked them. I applaud them for using sunny day to increase my fire blast. :)
- The retard Team Magma leader woke up Groudon. Seriously, what an idiot. So I have to go fix it. What a surprise!
- Went to Sootopolis City and I pretty much made Groudon suck my .. you know what.
- Defeated all the gym trainers and took on Wallace. OHKO'd everyone with stomp except Milotic, which took two thumps from my hooves.
- Made my way through Victory Road and came up to Wally. I also made him suck my .. you know what. ;)
- Had a few rare candies that I picked up along the way, so I used them on Vulcan.

First Attempt: Died on Phoebe due to being confused, hurting myself and Dusclops' earthquakes.
Second Attempt: Same as first....
Third Attempt: Curse/Earthquake combo killed me. This is really annoying.
