Hey I started a Ultimate solo challenge with the Duskull Evolution Line way back with an old thread, I had finished Kanto and started Johto, If I post the pictures from my Kanto run can I continue it here on this thread?

Absolutely. I'll edit the USC part when I'm not lazy anymore. Or busy.

August 10th, 2012, 6:47 AM
Here's my Hall of Fame pic (The Lapras, Mewoth, and Spearow are Hm Mules)
Here's the after Pic it has my time and trainer I.D.
Here's my trainer card confirming the 8 badges and trainer I.D.
And I never erased the save from my solo challenge on SS so I'll post where I am after I check it. Also if you need any more proof I think a few of my posts are on the old Ultimate Solo Challenge board here: http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?p=5893736#post5893736

Ok finished my Raticate solo.
I stormed through he Rocket Hideout.Me and Giovanni battled for the first time and Petey destroyed all his pokemon.I took the Silph Scope and headed towards Pokemon Tower.I had to take out all the ghost trainers by using Super Fang and spamming the PokeCentre took out the Rocket Member easily. I went to Silph Co. and just kept running till i found the CEO. Went to battle Erika and she didnt stand a chance. Battled Koga and took him out easily.Saffrons Gym leader Sabrina took me forever to find but still she lost without hesitation. Surfed to Cinnabar and explored the Mansion finding a secret key and the TM for Blizzard which i taught to Petey. I then went to the Gym and destroyed Blaine with my Hyper Fang and Blizzard. I then surfed north to the good old town of Virdian where i battled Giovanni for the third time. He lost with 5 simple attacks of Blizzard. I then headed west with the intention to beat the Pokemon League.
I walked through the Victory Road encountering a pokemon every three steps but after a short time I was out and ready to face the Pokemon League. I stocked up on Max Potion, Full Heals and Full Restores before engaging battle with Lorelei whose Ice Pokemon stood no chance to my Quick Attack and Hyper Fang. Bruno was a tougher battling as one of his Fighting hit took out almost half of Peteys hits. Agatha lost to me with a simple strategy Super Fang then Blizzard which destroyed her Ghost Pokemon. After i use a Ether on Petey for his Blizzard I was ready to face Lance. His Gyrados lost with a simple bite with Peteys Hyper Fang and the rest of his Pokes lost with his Blizzard. It was now time to face Gary who used some strong pokemon but he still lost to my Petey.
Ok I might do a Venusaur solo now on Red again

August 23rd, 2012, 5:52 PM
If I do Emerald can I hack in a Duskull with a dark move so I can compete with the zigzagoon you face?

PEARL UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I beat Fantina, and flew to Jubilife and saved.

Torterra Lv.53
-Razor Leaf
-Hidden Power(Poison)

I'm really happy I had a lot of revives against the battle against Cyrus, his Weavile kept Ice Punching me.
Here is Torterra's stats, I can't post a pic because I was playing on my DS.

Torterra Lv.73
-Razor Leaf
-Hidden Power(Poison)

No moveset changes
For Black, I might play on DesMuME, so I can post an ending pic.

August 26th, 2012, 1:40 AM
Beat Yellow:

My team (what's important)

Level: 78
Body Slam

It was a pain in the butt to beat my rival at the end because of the lack of PP. Used struggle to beat his last 2 Pokemon.

NOTE to myrrhman: I know I said I will complete the 2nd and 3rd gen games with Pikachu, but I changed my mind, I would like to use a poliwag(Poliwrath) for Johto. Dunno about Hoenn. But I won't use Pikachu, that's for sure.

August 26th, 2012, 7:14 AM
I didn't feel like trying to find my Black Rom, so I just did it on my actual Copy. So no pic.

Serperior Lv.84
Leaf Storm
Leaf Blade
Dragon Tail

I know it's moveset isn't diverse, but it worked for me.

I want to do this again except with the Larvitar family on these games: LeafGreen, Crystal, Emerald, Diamond, White
For the first 4 games, I'll hack him in as a starter with a Starter Editor. And for Black 2, I'll hack him in with PokeGen at level 5 in Asperita Town.
The reason I'm hacking is that he isn't available until Island 5 in LG, Mt. Silver in Crystal, not at all in Emerald and Diamond, and only by breeding in B2.

August 26th, 2012, 10:35 AM
First i was going to play with magnemite only but i changed my mind and i will let it evolve into magenton.
Starting with HG aswell.
going to catch a lvl 3 or 4 magnemite but i dont gonne erase the totdile, i will keep it as a HM-slave for surf haha

August 26th, 2012, 12:48 PM
I beat LeafGreen and can't upload a pic, every time I try to save a screenshot, it's just Black, I tested on about 5 other GBA ROMs, and the showed up normally. :(

Tyranitar Lv.61
Hyper Beam
Rock Slide

I'll update with Crystal later with a pic :).

August 26th, 2012, 5:22 PM
Mehhhh, its time someone beat this challenge with a Magikarp in Blue.

So far, I've successfully murdered 4 Metapod/Kakuna, and only had to use 1 potion against them. Magikarp is level 6.

August 26th, 2012, 9:07 PM
I finally beat Red in Crystal, here is Tyranitar.

Next up is Emerald.

August 27th, 2012, 5:22 AM
Beat Lance just now.
Still have to beat Red. But I think it will be easy, my Poliwrath is a tough fighter, it never fainted. Max damage it got was about 43, psychic.

My Poliwrath:

I started a Tauros Solo Run on Red, and currently I have 4 badges and just beat Giovanni in the Game Corner.

I beat it, I dont know why the pictures wont show up, but my Tauros:

I'm going to do it on Crystal now

Well, I finished Red! Kalvin the Tauros only died three times the whole playthrough.

August 28th, 2012, 9:00 PM

I played Platinum on my DS, so no pic.

Tyranitar Lv.73
Stone Edge
Rock Slide

I'll start Black 2 later.

Defeating Red in soul silver with just my Bellossom was fun. My boyfriend was amazed because he was so convinced I was going to lose against Red's Charizard.

August 31st, 2012, 5:01 PM
I would like to get in on this actually, i was wanting to do either HG or SS
using only a Ratatta/Raticate which I will no doubt name Nibbles.
I think it will prove to be an interesting solo challenge.

I will post my progress as I go.

September 4th, 2012, 3:37 PM
Okay so I'd like to do a solo run on firered with parasect. I know it's after the first gym, but I have no way of hacking so... wish me luck? :D I'll start with squirtle to get through the first part of the game as quickly as possible, and I'll avoid as many trainers as I can.

Let's begin! :D (I'll edit in my progress later tonight)

EDIT: I actually decided to go with bulbasaur to give me a grass type feel for the beginning, and to make my rival more challenging. *gulp* I named him Parasect? and we proceeded onward. He swept through the beginning with ease, even with only 3-4 trainer battles, Brock was a snap. I finally reached Mt. Moon and got my team! Maitre D' the female paras joined the party! (get it cuz she's the host :D) I trained her up and passed through Mt. Moon where we reached Ceruean. After a couple failed attempts at beating Gary, I took down Misty, easy as pie. Now if only I could get rid of that pidgeotto...

EDIT: After training up, I got paras to level 5 (so she could learn spore) and the Maitre D' evolved! I easily took down Gary, fought the trainers beyond him and headed to Vermilion. Lt. Surge was easy, so I headed for the rock tunnel, to lazy to catch enough pokemon to get flash. Next time, I'll capture the 10 pokemon. I beat up Erika with ease, and took down the rocket hide-out. I then headed over to lavender town where Gary was destroyed and I saved Mr. Fuji or whatever his name is. I took down the fightin dojo real quickly before heading down to Fuschia, the non bicycl path way. I easily destroyed Koga, and saved all my progress!

Maitre D' the parasect

Female ~ Gentle Nature ~ Level 59 ~ Moveset: Secret Power, Spore, Bullet Seed, Aerial Ace ~ Ability: Effect Spore

Golurks Were Meant to Fly
September 7th, 2012, 1:43 PM
Well, I've been busy. I went back along the bicycle path, then took down Giovanni and Sabrina easily. I flew to Pallet Town and then went to Cinnabar, destroying Blaine with Maitre D''s dig. Went back to Viridian, and got rid of Giovanni again. Raced up to the Pokemon League and swept it, it was only a little difficult. I had to restart for Gary a bit and Lance a few times, but overall it was fairly simple. Damn that Pidgeot

Maitre D' the parasect

Female ~ Gentle Nature ~ Level 86 ~ Moveset: Return, Spore, Giga Drain, Aerial Ace ~ Ability: Effect Spore

September 7th, 2012, 3:52 PM
Bah, I can't believe I left without updating for so long. For those who don't know me, I was attempting an Ultimate Solo Challenge with Weedle. I've posted earlier in this thread about having beaten Gens 1 and 3, as well as getting up to Red in Gen 2. Part of the reason I've stopped updating is because it takes me too long to type it up before I'm satisfied with it. But today I decided I'm not putting it off anymore. Here are videos of me finishing gens 4 and 5 with Weedle.

Platinum: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwRdPIIrlVY&feature=plcp

White: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07kh0HeFbyU&feature=plcp

I still have ahead of me Red in Gen 2, so I'm not done yet. In place of posting my journey, I'll say this. If anyone here wants pictures of beaten gym leaders, or has questions on how I beat certain parts, feel free to ask and I'll happily tell you about it.

EDIT: Also, as a result of a camping trip where I got bored and most of my games were at home, I started a Solo challenge on Sapphire with Shedinja, I'm currently at the Elite 4. If I like it enough I'll make it into an Ultimate.

September 7th, 2012, 9:11 PM
@Kirby Nah, that's plenty good for me. Congrats on aaaaaalmost finishing the Weedle challenge!

September 8th, 2012, 11:50 AM
I feel soooo farrrrr behinnnddd. Rival fight!

Golurks Were Meant to Fly
September 8th, 2012, 11:57 AM
Well, now that firered is all finished up, I think I'll start a challenge on sapphire with surskit or masquerain (not sure if I'm evolving surskit or not) An update will come later today!

September 8th, 2012, 11:04 PM
My old files were deleted so I'll be signing up in Pokemon Pitch Black, Pokemon Sol Platinum and Pokemon Neo SoulSilver with Ralts/Kirlia/Gardevoir in all three.

I'll do Delcatty on Leaf Green. Will be hacking her in as a Skitty after I do the necessary starter-parcel-etc. stuff.

September 12th, 2012, 9:04 AM
I am going to do this with Meowth/Persian.I am starting with FireRed, but I will probably do the other regions, too.

September 12th, 2012, 3:46 PM
I went back to Cerulean and headed for Rock Tunnel

Also, I will not evolve Eevee, meaning when I fight Red, he'll still be an Eevee.

Sorry, I'd like to cancel my surskit run. I tried it, and well, just didn't really have fun.

Also, not trying to be pushy or rude, but I completed my firered run and am not in the champions list, did I do something incorrectly?

September 14th, 2012, 9:29 PM
Nope, you're good. I'm just a lazy ass/pretty busy with school just starting (even though I haven't updated since like July I think), so I haven't gotten around to adding you in. Congrats on beating it though!

September 18th, 2012, 5:40 AM
I have all Bosses recorded, except the Rival Battle in Mt. Moon, I forgot to record and beat him.
Anyways, Youtube keeps saying it's unavailable, apparently it can't connect, when every other site I go to works, so I'll put them up when it starts working again.
I'll do another solo run.

I change my mind, I'm not using Dratini because he only has Wrap as an attacking move until level 30(Slam), I'll do an ultimate Misdreavus(and Mismagius in 4th/5th Gen games).

I'll do Misdreavus on LeafGreen, Silver, Sapphire, Diamond, and White. I'll update later.

Beat LeafGreen, next up is Silver. :)

Beat Silver, Sapphire, here I come.

Also, just sayin', I'm hacking Misdreavus to know Tackle at level 1 instead of Psywave.

If you're doing it on ROM, then you can probably find a different ROM somewhere. No sense in giving up just because your ROM doesn't work!

When I was younger I did this a few times simply because I was too lazy to catch Pokémon. I found that pretty much every single time you'll be so over leveled it doesn't even matter if your Pokémon is weak to a Gym/Elite 4 member or is a bad Pokémon in general, it'll just dominate them regardless of type/strategy.

Anyway, I'm not sure if you'll accept me, as it was along time ago but:

Firered: Pidgeot

Ruby: Blaziken, Zangoose & Sandslash (3 different playthroughs, not a team of 3)

Pearl: Infernape

I think I'll do an Ultimate Houndoom Solo playing through the following games:

Fire Red - Crystal - Emerald - Platinum - Black

November 6th, 2012, 7:45 PM
Name: TrollShammy80
Pokemon: Butterfree
Ultimate: Ultimate
Game: Fire Red Omega/Storm Silver/Expert Emerald/Prestigious Platinum/Blaze Black 2

November 8th, 2012, 12:22 AM
Decided to do a Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard Ultimate Solo.

Will be playing through:
FireRed -> Gold -> Emerald -> Diamond -> Black

EDIT: Extra conditions for completion:
E4 Round 2 in FR
Red in Gold
Steven in Emerald
Cynthia in Diamond
Morimoto, Cynthia and Alder in Black

EDIT 2: Did some of the FireRed section of my Ultimate Solo.
This battle was rather irritating, with Scratch missing often after 3 Sand Attacks from Pidgey, but I managed to win with raw power.
Easier battle than I had expected, Metal Claw 2HKOd both of his Pokemon.
The rival seemed weaker than I had expected with most things going down in one hit.
Probably the most difficult battle of the challenge so far, all because of Starmie's Water Pulse dealing just under 50 damage.
My rival gets easier and easier as everything was OHKOd by my newly evolved Charizard.
I thought he'd be a little tougher because Charizard is part flying, but Flamethrower put him in his place.

My Charizard:

So far, this challenge has proven to be rather easy, but I expect it to get more difficult later on, especially around Blaine and onwards. Charmander only has trouble early on, but really comes out of its shell after the second gym, and even more so at Lv34 when it gains the super powerful Flamethrower.

EDIT: Update 2

OHKOd everything in the gym, so it was just a bit of extra EXP for FLARE.
Another trainer who got hit like a truck by my Charizard, losing in seconds.
Another round of OHKOs against my puny little rival
Slightly tougher this time with his newly evolved Blastoise that survived its first hit and then barely scratched me.
2HKOs all around against the big boss of Team Rocket. I expected a bit more of him, but he was just another insect in my path.
Got a bit lazy at this point and skipped all the trainers in the gym and OHKOd all of Sabrina's Pokemon with Flamethrower.
After skipping almost all the battles on the way here and in the gym, I once again OHKOd all of the gym leaders Pokemon.

So far, this run has been a cakewalk, with Charizard being able to one/two hit everything in her path. I'm actually hoping for more of a challenge to get rid of some of this boredom I currently have.

EDIT 3: Got bored at school and decided to play some more. Ended up finishing the Kanto section, but a few screenshots are missing because I wasn't paying attention while playing.

I got a lot done while playing, so there's quite a few pictures here.
Blaine was rather easy, his Growlithe's Intimidate weakened Rock Slide enough to not OHKO Arcanine, but other than that he was pretty easy. I then went on to do the Sevii Island quest thingy and returned to fight Giovanni.
It was at this point that I realised how OP my Charizard is currently. Taking only 70 damage from a STAB Rock Throw. Other than that, Giovanni was easy as anything, so I continued on towards the E4.
His Blastoise gets stronger everytime, but other than that, he's always a piece of cake.
As you can see, I've missed out Lorelei, Chuck and Agatha. I'll post how those all went.
Lorelei: As I entered the battle with her, expecting an easy win over her ice types, I realised how wrong I was. 60% damage from Lapras' Surf caused some mayhem, but I managed to win thanks to a few lucky criticals.
Bruno: Onixes were easy OHKOs with EQ and all others fell in one hit to Aerial Ace. What else can I say?
Agatha: Agatha was easier than ever before in this run. All her Pokemon fell with a simple Flamethrower, and I was on to Lance.
Lance: I expected more of Lance, due to the fact that he reduced EQ and Aerial Ace to pathetic little attacks with Intimidate, but Dragon Claw allowed me to destroy this guy with ease.
The fated battle. Once again, he proved to be pretty easy. OHKOs other than the 2HKO against his Blastoise. He was just too easy.

I did more of the Sevii Islands before coming back to battle. This time I remembered my screenshots...
...for the first battle at least. Anyway, I'll repeat what I did before:
Lorelei: Even harder this time, taking 70% damage from Slowbro's Surf, and about 80% from Lapras' left me using Full Restores continuously until they used a different move. I finally took her down after some struggles, but nothing too bad.
Bruno: What is wrong with this guy? Two Steelix's who fell from a single Flamethrower each, some Hitmon's who couldn't take an Aerial Ace, and then Machamp, who only just managed to survive an Aerial Ace, only to fall to a critical one the next turn.
Agatha: The easiest by far this time around. Everything of hers fell from a single Flamethrower. Nuff said.
Lance: Ugh. Don't even remind me of this. Took down everything except for his last two Dragonites. Dragon Claw would reduce them to about 40%, but their Dragon Claws would do the same to me. I finally managed to win after a few Full Restores and burning with Flamethrower.
And then there was one. The guy whose Pokemon couldn't even take any hits. Well, other than his Hydro Pumping Blastoise that fell in 2 EQs. Pretty easy like usual, and proved to be a terrible champion.

This guy was an utter beast. I couldn't wait to start on Silver until I realised that Charmander and Charmeleon are pretty lackluster in comparison to the big red dragon.

So I hacked in Charmander as the starter (and did so to all the other 3 games), and got away, trained up a bit and then challenged ???
Can he get any more unlucky? First he's caught red handed by me with the stolen Pokemon, and then he goes down in one hit from a critical scratch.
Hah, This guy. I entered the gym with a Charmander, and walked out with a Charmeleon who only took a gust from Pidgeotto (and the badge).
Surprisingly, Bugsy's Scyther managed to survive an Ember and dealt a little damage to the big guy. Unfortunately for him, he only dealt 8 damage and then fainted the next turn.
Ugh, damn that Croconaw. It took 4 scratched before fainting, and almost took out my Charmeleon. I can't wait until this guy evolves.

Slightly more of a challenge than FireRed so far, I'm actually hoping it gets a little tougher, and cant wait to battle Whitney and her Miltank.

November 9th, 2012, 6:39 PM
Pokemon Being Used: Phione
Game: Prestigious Platinum.

Sinnoh update #1

"Well Ken! Looks like we finally made it!" I told the Pokemon as I took a look at route 202. As we took our first steps onto the route, I remembered when I had first found Ken.

It was a warm, sunny day. I was relaxing beside the shore on lake Verity. Suddenly, something caught my eye. It was a blue figure in the water. In it's hands was a strange, blue egg. I quickly identified the Pokemon as a Manaphy. When I approached the Manaphy, it handed me the egg for no reason that I can recall! When the egg finally hatched, it hatched into a Phione instead of a Manaphy like I thought it would. I named the Phione "Ken" after my favorite character in Street Fighter 2. Ever since Ken hatched out of that egg, I have been going to lake Verity every day to show Ken to the Manaphy.

As we approached the first patch of grass, we were quickly stopped in our tracks by Dawn.
"Hey Crow! I decided that I'm going to teach you how to catch a Pokemon!"
I sighed, "I don't need to know how to catch a Pokemon. I'm going with just Ken over here!"
Dawn giggled, "Don't be silly! Having more Pokemon just adds more fun to the adventure!"
I sighed again. There was no convincing her to believe that Ken and I are doing this adventure...solo. "Fine! Teach me how to catch a Pokemon! I'll have to catch a HM slave anyway."

2 minutes later...

"And that is how use catch a Pokemon!" Dawn said proudly.
I nodded, "Thats cool! Anyway, I'd better be going to Jubilive city!"
'It just so happens that I'm heading there too!" Dawn said proudly. "I'll see you there! Bye!"

And with that, Dawn ran though the grass towards Jubilife city.
"OK Ken!" This looks like a good place to train!" I told the Pokemon.
The first thing I did was take out a TM containing the move return. I quickly taught it to Ken. Sadly, Return won't do a lot of damage yet because our friendship still needed some fine-tuning. It is something I plan to work on.

As for the trainers, they were easy to say the least. Ken plowed though them as fast as he did to wild Pokemon. Ken entered Jubilife city a stronger Phione! Of course, Dawn was waiting for us by the entrance,
"Crow! I have to show you this cool place! It's called the Pokemon trainers School. You can learn a lot about Pokemon there!" She told me.
"I think I know enough about Pokemon." I told her.
"Oh come on! I think I saw your friend, Raven, in there!" She said with a grin.
my eyes widened, "Raven is in there! Come on! Let's go!" I told her impatiently
She led me towards the trainers school. As we made it to the door, we noticed a man hiding besides the lampposts
"Umm...What are you doing? I asked the man.
The man shuddered backwards in surprise. "Oh-no! You found out that I'm part of the international police force!
Now it was my turn to shudder back in surprise. "Wait...what now?"
The man chuckled, "you're a smart kid. For that, I'll give you my name...NO! My code name! Just call me Looker! tell me if you see any strange activity in this area!"

The man slipped back towards the lampposts and walked away.
"That was weird!" Dawn told me. Anyhow, the trainer school is right here! I have to go back to professor Rowan's lab see you later!

After that, I entered the school and walked over to Raven, expecting a battle.
"Hey Raven! Up for a battle?" I asked him.
"Nah" He replied. "I'm too busy right now! I have to look up Status problems!"

To be continued!

November 9th, 2012, 9:05 PM
Cant be bothered with a long update right now, and to be honest, my memory wont let me recall everything (just like it forgot to screenshot me beating Chuck. I'll just post the screenshots of me beating each gym leader, E4 member and rival.

Been a while since I last update but I've made some progress. I beat Koga, team rocket at Silph Co. and also Sabrina, and I last saved in the Pokemon Mansion.

This will probably my last update for a few weeks, as I'm going on holiday.

Earthquake all over the place made Surge a piece of cake.
Another easy leader going down to Flamethrower OHKOs
Fire everywhere winning for me.
Easiest of them all, being about 5-10 levels lower than the other Kanto leaders and going down easily to fire.
Lapras took 2 hits and dealt a little damage, but other than that, Misty was easy as.
Earthquake made this gym incredibly easy.
My last rival battle showed him how weak he really was falling to OHKOs everywhere.
Another Kanto gym falling to EQ.
Toughest gym leader of them all, with his Gyarados setting up Rain Dance and absorbing my hits.
Ah, Red. Pikachu was easy. Espeon was easy. Venusaur and Charizard were both easy. Blastoise and Snorlax however managed to set up Rain Dance and Reflect causing me to do minimal damage to them. In the end, I won after one full restore and a bit of luck.

Proved to be even less of a challenge than the Kanto part, but overall, this was more enjoyable in my opinion, mostly because I love GSC.

Bewsa the Careful Jynx
Lv. 69 - Oblivious
Psychic, Water Pulse, Shadow Ball, Powder Snow

Finished the rest of FireRed!!
Lorelei was pretty easy, Slowbro took a while to go down but still didn't cause any problems.
Bruno was a piece of cake. OHKO'd everyone of his Pokemon.
Agatha was the same as Bruno.
Lance was easy too, OHKO'd everyone except Gyarados which went down with 2 hits.
Green went down with little problems. Charizard nearly took me out with his Fire Blast but he went down with 2 Psychics.

Bewsa the Careful Jynx
Lv. 76 - Oblivious
Psychic, Water Pulse, Shadow Ball, Powder Snow

Next stop Johto on Pokemon SoulSilver, don't know when I'll get started though.

Seeing as I played quite a bit of this over the last few days and I just woke up at 2am, I thought I may as well post an update of my now completed Emerald part.

This was probably some of the tougher parts of the game, with Roxanne frustrating me with her Rock Tomb and Potions, whereas May was much easier because all her Pokemon were of similar level, but not on par with Nosepass. Brawly was pretty easy himself, with most damage taken throughout the double battle in his gym rather than against him.
The game began to get much easier at this point because May went down the slowest of the three because Charmeleon didn't have a certain move at this point, whereas Wattson was OHKOd by Flamethrowers and Maxie by Dig.
All of them were rather easy, mostly because Charizard had began to overlevel at this point, making the challenge a lot easier than early on.
Once again, nothing could really hurt me, with the exception of Winona's Altaria using Dragon Dance, raising its speed to higher than Charizard's, then using Aerial Ace and getting a critical. Overall, easy battles.
All proved to be stronger than most other trainers so far, but still provided little challenge bar Liza and Tate, but that was due to them being able to use Ancientpower from Claydol, which could only just survive a Flamethrower, allowing them to spam Hyper Potions on it.
The Maxie double battle was the worst here, being unable to OHKO either Camerupt because Dig is too weak at this point, meaning they would manage to get a hit on Charizard. The other two however, were nothing to worry about.
Wally and Sidney had their entire team wiped out by OHKOs, whereas Juan could take a hit with most of his Pokemon, but failed to do much damage anyway.
Phoebe and Glacia were a piece of cake, but the dragon sailor guy definately was not. This was probably my hardest battle of the game because to deal damage, I was forced to use either an attack reduced Return or a not very effective Flamethrower, meaning most of his Pokemon could attack maybe two or three times before fainting.
These guys probably fitted the positions of 2nd and 3rd hardest battles in the game, with both of them having Pokemon capable of enduring multiple Flamethrowers/Returns, and dishing out a lot of damage back.

Well I finished the Hoenn part of the challenge with this beast and it was probably the easiest for most of the game, but the most challenging towards the end of it.

can i hack in Pokemon from another region. i wanted to do Rayquaza in FR. also what is the max level i can hack into the game. i was probably gonna set it to level 5 like the starter Pokemon but i thought i would ask first. it doesn't say in the rules, but it seems like something that should be specified.
i used advancestarter to start the game with hitmonchan and i am on the ss anne right now. here are some screen grabs of Oaks lab and the first rival battlle and a screenshot of my hitmonchans moves . i have more pics but my internet is running slow so i will update later.

It is completely allowed, I mean I do it for most of my solo challenges. I just set them as my starter because it makes it a lot more efficient than having to catch etc.

Hello all. I was looking into doing this challenge for something to occupy my spare time with, so sign me up. Do I just post my progress here? I'd also like to do the run with a Raichu, my favorite pokemon.

Name: Flynn.

Rival: Clu

Pokemon: Tron the Raichu.

Games I'll be playing:
Kanto: Leaf Green
Johto: Crystal
Hoenn: Emerald
Sinnoh: Platinum
Unova: White 2

I've just started Leaf Green so I will post my progress sometime tomorrow.

The only hacking I have done is setting up my starter pokemon as Raichu for Crystal, Leaf Green, and Emerald. For Platinum and White 2 I plan to use pokegen to edit the saves before my first rival battle.

Since I won't be at those games for a bit, to what extent can I edit my Raichu? Do I set everything to random, or can I edit his nature, ev's, and skills but still start at a level 5? Or, at the very least, edit his nature?

Diary 1. Kanto Region.

I left my house to walk to the store at the nearby town of Viridian for a moomoo milkshake. Just as I was about to step into the grass my neighbor, Mr. Oak, came screaming up to me saying it was dangerous. Now, I may be mute but I doubt a couple of skittish rattata and small pidgey are going to hurt me. I think I remember my mom telling me that Mr. Oak needed to see me anyways so I follow him back to his lab.

Standing at the back next to a table of pokeballs was Mr. Oaks grandson, Clu. He's been trying to best me at everything since we were babies. Mr. Oak had called both of us here to give us each a pokemon from his personal collection. I chose the grass type, Bulbasaur, while my rival chose Charmander, a fire type. As I turned to leave, Clu decided we should battle.

I tossed out my ball and what came out wasn't what Mr. Oak remembered. There, standing in front of my rivals Charmander was a Raichu. Without even thinking about it I was on the attack. The Charmander didn't seem to like the electricity and went down after a couple of Thundershocks, with my Raichu only receiving a couple of scratches. Clu looked rather upset and I just grinned as I took his allowance for winning the match.

This time I left and finally made it to the market for my milkshake. Just as I was about to pay for it, the clerk instead gave me a package for Mr. Oak, along with a message to say hi. Saddened by my lack of sweet milkshake goodness, I made my way back to Mr. Oaks lab to deliver his parcel, which turned out to be a custom pokeball. Around this time Clu decided to drop back by.

Once he arrived Mr. Oak asked us to do the most ridiculous thing ever. Live his dream for him. He has tasked Clu and myself with finishing up an encyclopedia of all pokemon species on the region called a Pokedex. Clu had no problem with this and promptly told me to shove off and smell you later. I decided that Tron, my Raichu, and I would do our best to complete this before him too.

So I once again left for Veridian, after telling my mom of course, and headed once again to get my milkshake. Milkshake in hand, I made my way to Viridian forest. I've brought extra provisions just in case we get lost. This is where I'll leave this entry for now.

Diary 2. Kanto Region

Viridian forest proved to have little difficulty as I didn't even need to heal going through it. After emerging I bought a couple of potions and headed to Pewter gym at level 12.

Fun fact, rock and ground types are immune to electric. So I white out and decided to go level up. While wandering around Viridian Forest I caught a Pikachu and named it Grid, it was then shoved into the box at the Pokemon Center. At level 18 I decided to take on the gym again. After a lot of tail wagging and quick hits, the Boulder Badge was ours.

From there I made my way to Mt. Moon. All the battles on the way proved easy and I only stopped at the Pokemon center to restore PP. Mt. Moon is full of Geodudes. Even at a level 20 it was taking a tail wag and two quick hits to put down a level 8. A little ways through I started to encounter Team Redundant. At the end I take out the nerd and he decides to share his Dome Fossil with me. I like Kabuto/Kabutops so I'm gonna make it into my HM slave once I can revive it.

After I've emerged from Mt. Moon I head straight to the Nugget Bridge forgetting that I'll run into Clu. Surprisingly enough, all his Pokemon fall to a single Thunderbolt. After that I heal up and take on all 4 Pokemon at Cerulean Gym. They all fall to single Thundershocks and at this point I'm feeling good and take on Nugget Bridge without healing. At the end of it I'm a level 26 and it's on to Bills house.

I head on without healing still and regret it when I run into a hiker with three Geodudes. After that I head back, heal, and make my way all the way to Bills house. I encounter a disturbing Clefairy human thing as I enter and realize it's Bill in an expiriment gone horribly wrong. After extracting the bubbly pink DNA he hands me a ticket for the S.S. Anne as thanks. I thought he gave you an Eevee but maybe that's a different game.

After that I head to Vermillion and the cruise ship. Before boarding I grab the bike ticket from the Pokemon fan club and then it's off to see the captain for our first HM.

Going through the S.S. Anne is pretty short, although it is full of battles and useful items. I decided to forego healing again and do the whole thing in one go. I found Clu at the end of the ship again, and again, his team fell to Thunderbolts. I noticed the Captain was rather seaside so I rubbed his back to make him feel better. In exchange he gave me HM 01, Cut. After leaving the ship it sailed away, never to be heard from again.

I decided from here to go back up and get the bike for easier travel. I also grab Grid from the box, and upon learning she nor Thor can learn Cut, release her and search for a Pokemon that can learn it.

Next time, We'll see who I find to take Grids place.

Fun filled fact about Raichu in Leaf Green. They don't learn a single move. So your only way of learning anything is through the Move Tutor, TMs, or HMs. I've just made it through Mt. Moon so I'll post that tonight, probably in a different format.

I've been busy with Christmas, Birthday, and Anniversary things the last couple of weeks but I've recorded more of my progress in a more readable format, hopefully. I'll update again later on in the month. Merry Christmas everyone! On a side note, I'm just about done with Leaf Green, then it's on to Crystal.

After catching Bop the Weedle, Houdini the Abra, and Marvin the Bellsprout, I finally caught my Cut slave in Marvin. Grid and Bop were then released into their natural habitats. I'm keeping Houdini for his ability to Teleport.

After finding Marvin I set out to take on Lt. Surge. It should be an interesting match since he uses only electric types. I stood corrected however as the only difficulty I had was a double teamed Pikachu who was hard to hit. After obtaining the Thunder Badge and the TM Shockwave, which I taught to Thor, I healed up and headed through Digletts Cave to Pewter City where I obtained the Old Amber from a scientist.

After that I headed back east of Vermilion towards Rock Tunnel. At this point I'm about 20 levels higher than all the trainers I'm fighting on my way up. The entire route to the Rock Tunnel was pretty uneventful besides teaching Flash to Houdini.

As for the Rock Tunnel itself, this is the place of nightmares. I used 2 Rare Candies on Tron, 4 Ethers, all 5 of my Super Potions, and my only Revive since she died to a Graveller. This place was horrible and we shall never speak of it or its atrocious Hikers again.

After clawing my way out bruised and mangled I avoided every trainer I saw and booked it to the nearest Pokemon center for a little rest, relaxation, and immense restocking. After picking up 10 Super Potions, 5 Great Balls, and 5 Revives, I head back to battle the trainers I missed. After this I headed up to the Pokemon tower and battled Clu. All of his Pokemon fell to a Thunderbolt each. Once I found out I needed the Silph Scope to continue I headed south along the pier.

I got into a double battle with Thor and Marvin. Unsure of what to do I had Marvin use sleep powder while Thor did the actual damage. So I'm not sure if I've broken the rules or not. So this is where I'll leave off. Marvin went up 1 level from this fight.

Houdini has been shoved into the box so now I carry Thor the Raichu and Marvin the Bellsprout who has learned Flash.

Level: 46 (two of these levels are from the two Rare Candies I found)

After figuring out that I couldn't go south down the pier I decided to go east of Lavender instead. All of the fights were pretty easy, I had aother double battle with Marvin that resulted in his use of sleep powder once more. After going along an underground route I emerged at the western entrance of Celadon. There's a lot to do here so I start with getting the tea.

After obtaining the tea from the old lady I headed behind the pokemon center to grab the Eevee from the top apartment. Once Regenetic is shoved into the box I headed towards the gym to take on Erika. It's pretty uninteresting as everything falls to either a Return or not so effective Shock Wave.

Feeling pretty good I head on over to the Game Corner to take on the "secret" Team Rocket base. Thor is getting massively over powered as I plow through this place with no sweat. Even Giovanni is easy, even if all three of his pokemon took two returns each to go down. I make my way out with the Silph Scope, heal, and head east to grab HM 02, Fly. I have no pokemon that can use this yet, so the search will be on. For now though, I head back to the Pokemon Tower.

Going up the tower isn't the least bit difficult. There's even a free heal halfway up that I didn't think I really needed but proved useful either way. My most difficult fight was Marowak. Her Bonemerang hit four times in total and took me down to 23 HP. Having forgotten that I can't catch her, I also waste a Great Ball. Throwing caution out the window I continue on without healing and fight all three Rocket grunts with 23 HP. Suffice to say they all leave crying and I'm escorted to Mr. Fujis house and given the PokeFlute.

This opens up quite a few areas so this is where I'll leave off while I figure out where to go.

I've decided I'll head east to Saffron, then south from Lavender, then east again before heading to Fushcia.

First things first I take on the fighting dojo and take Hitmonlee as my prize. Now named Bruce Lee, he will become my Strength and Rock Break slave. After that I get ready to take on the Silph Co building.

My first step is to go up each flight of stairs to take out everyone, with brief breaks to go replenish PP. The only thing to take me below 100 HP is Cubone. At this point I'm debating replacing Tail Whip with Brick Break for Rock/Ground types. Going through each floor is pretty uneventful and I grab the Door Key halfway through my way up. Once I've completed my way up, I head back down to open doors one floor at a time. After that I head up to the president and meet Clu on the way. He's still pretty easy, with only his Eggxecute needing two hits to wipe out. After I send him packing I grab the Laprus from the man standing there and name it Ferry. Once that's done I take on Giovanni who isn't that difficult either. All his Pokemon fall in two or three hits and I get the Master Ball as thanks for all my hard work.

Next up is my 5th gym. It goes really easy with me only getting lost for about 20 minutes. After that I head east down the Cycling Path and head to Fushcia. Once there I head to the Safari Zone and grab both the Gold Teeth and HM 03, Surf. After that I take on Kogas gym and get my 6th badge. At this point I head east to mop up the trainers I missed along this route. Before going I also grab Ferry and Bruce Lee from the box and teach them Surf and Strength respectively.

Next I'm going to try and find a flying pokemon to teach Fly and Cut so I can retire Marvin to the box. Then I'll figure out where to go next. Maybe a pokemon catching spree.

I've completed Trons journey through Leaf Green. Due to doing this completely on my phone I'm adding another post, hopefully isn't counted as a double post. I actually have a screenshot of the hall of fame but unfortunately I can't post pictures yet.

So getting bored for two weeks I head out down route 19 to catch a Krabby that I name Larry. He gets taught Surf, Strength, Cut, and Rock Smash when I get it. I don't think Flash is needed at this point so I retire Marvin to the box. I take Podge the Pidgey out of the box and teach him Fly to get to Pallet Town, then Surf down to Cinnabar. It's pretty easy going and my first agenda is to revive my two fossils. Xavier the Aerodactyl takes Podges place for my flyer pokemon. So right now I only carry 3 including Tron.

My next agenda is to head to the giant haunted mansion on the other side of town. The gym is off limits in case you're wondering. So I enter and scare the crud out of a little kid on the first floor, hit the switch, and grab the items before heading to the second floor. I fight the few guys up here and only get lost once before falling down the right hole. From here I do a stupid thing and head straight outside. Yup, ran the whole thing again, this time just heading down the stairs. At this point I'm almost out of PP and am considering going topside. Instead I plow forward and grab the Secret Key before using an escape roap to head back.

Now I can take on the gym here. Going through doesn't pose a challenge and I obtain the badge easily enough. From here I'm coraled into boarding a boat for the Sevii Islands. I decide to head to Mt. Ember to grab the HM and make my way up cause I don't remember what's here. Turns out it's Moltres who proceeds to kick my butt while I try to catch him. After dropping 7700 dollars I head to the next island to hand over the Meteorite and then head over to find the kid. Has anyone else ever noticed ahead refers to herself in both first and third person?

After taking thwarting kid back to her dad, I head back to check on Bill, who is done, and hi tail it back to Cinnabar. From here I'm heading back to Viridian to take my last gym. This gym actually poses a problem for me this time around. After my first trainer I take the time to switch out Tail Whip for Brick Break in the hopes that I can take out rock pokemon in one hit. After my fourth trainer I'm poisoned and down to 14 health so I take a moment to head out and heal. Once that's done I work my way further into the gym.

Taking on Giovani was easier than the gym itself. My only problem being his Nidoqueen as I try to hit it with Lightning and Brick Break, both of which are pretty ineffective. I finally take it out with a Return but not before it gets off two earthquakes and poisons me with its barber. Taking out his Nidoking and second Ryhorn are easy and I heal up at the Pokemon center.

At this point I now have all 8 badges. Now it's time to take on the Elite 4. Before I do however I'm going to explore around a little more and maybe raise myself a few more levels, just to be safe.

Level: 80

My first stop was going to be Cerulean Cave to pick up Mewtwo but I forgot that you have to beat the elite 4 first. So instead my first stop will be the power plant to pick up Zapdos. I take out the maniac in front before making my way inside. I have more than enough cash to get pokeballs and healing items. Grabbing Zapdos was relatively simple, with it only taking 35 ultra balls. I name it Waffles and shove it into the box before making my way to Mt. Ember.

Moltres was waiting patiently at the top to be caught. After my last defeat to this bird I'm determined to catch it. This proves massively difficult. My attempts are thwarted with Tron dieing once, me using all 50 of my ultra balls, and Moltres using all of his moves and struggling to death. I finally caught him after three resets and a total of 85 ultra balls.

Next up is Articuno. I fly to Fuschia and head south on route 19 to the seafoam islands. Fighting all the trainers on the way raises me up one level and depletes all of shock waves PP. So I end up using a lot of my max repels in order to be decent for my upcoming fight. The seafoam islands are basically are large strength puzzle. Its not entirely difficult and I find my way to my foe easily enough. Catching Articuno is just as easy. He only takes 25 ultra balls and freezing Thor wasn't a big deal.

Once caught I make my way out I fight the rest of the trainers on my way back to Cinnabar. Once there Death Wing is shoved in with his buddies and I decide my next move.

There wasn't a whole lot I could do after catching the legendary birds so I head out to take on the Elite Four. On my way up I see Clu again. He's still just as easy. I forgot that charizard has a dual type, so electric is super effective against hiatus flying. I didn't actually mean for this to happen when I picked out bulbasaur.

Victory road is actually a little difficult as I use an escape road to get out and restock. Once through I sell all of what I don't need and make my way to the Elite Four. Before heading in I retire all but Tron.

Lorelei is easy enough and all of her pokemon go down in one or two hits, with the biggest problem being her lapras confusing Tron once. Bruno and agatha go down just as easily. Lances dragonite gives me a bit of trouble as I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention. He took Tron down to half health and paralyzed him.

Before taking on Clu I use my only elixir to completely heal Tron up. Lance was harder than Clu was and he goes down to more Thunderbolts.

Thus ends Flynn and Trons epic adventure in Leaf Green. Included is the screenshot from the hall of fame. Now it's on to Crystal.

I will try and do an emerald challenge only using Horsea/Seadra/Kingdra Evolution.

December 17th, 2012, 9:41 PM
So, there's a good chance I'm going to Solo Challenge hell...

-Cleared Route 204
-Reached Floaroma Town
-Defeated Team Galactic
-Challenged Commander Mars
-Lost several times against Commander Mars
-Grinded to Lvl 20 and evolved Roronoa into Kirlia
-I hate Purugly so much...
-S-Mod Luke gave me a Dawn Stone
-Roranoa Evolved into Gallade
-Cleared Route 205
-Cleared Eterna Forest
-Challenged Eterna City Gym
-Defeated Gardenia

Lvl 26, Jolly
-Swords Dance
-Double Team

I was going to wait until I got Dawn Stone in game, but it would have required an un-godly amount if grinding and over leveling to beat that Purugly, trust me. This is a better solution.

December 19th, 2012, 8:48 PM
Finally started SoulSilver for my ultimate Jynx challenge. Did all the starting stuff and beat Falkner.

Level 14
Nature: Timid
Ability: Forewarn
Powder Snow
Sweet Kiss

P.S - The reason why I rarely update is because I have been working on a hack for Pokemon Black and White, which I am nearly finished, and when I'm done my updates will again be more consistent. The main purpose of the hack is to play Pokemon where EVERY Pokemon is usable and catchable, while the difficulty has a major increase. I expect it to be finished before the new year.

December 19th, 2012, 10:22 PM
Well I got 7 badges now in Crystal. Only Clair is left on Johto. OMG Chuck was giving me problems. That dang Poliwrath. I'm changing my Unova game to White 2

Gonna do a Liquid Crystal solo run with Electabuzz, wish me luck everyone

December 27th, 2012, 10:17 AM
I started my first ever solo run last night. So, the official stuff:

Name: Arlo
Pokemon: Lillipup-Herdier-Stoutland
Game: White

Chose Snivy for a starter (so I could get Panpour for free, for a water HM slave later). Spent a long time turning circles in the grass on Route 1 before I came up with the Lillipup I wanted - Adamant with Vital Spirit (which becomes Intimidate with Herdier and Stoutland). It's a male and I caught him at level 2 and named him Sebastian.

Then we went on to Accumula Town, without encountering anything along the way.

Walked out of the PC, planning on going back down to Route 1 to train Sebastian a bit, but when I saw the crowd over by the square, I decided to get that part of it out of the way first. That turned out to be a tactical error, but I didn't realize it until the crowd broke up and I saw N, and remembered that that's the first time you have to fight him and here I was, preparing to do a solo run, with a level 2 Lillipup. Nothing to do about it though, and I had just bought seven potions, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

That was one of the more thrilling battles I've had in a while. N's Purrloin is level 7, and each of its Scratches did 5 points of damage to Sebastian, who only had 14 points total. So the first hit knocked him down from 14 to 9, then he hit back with a Tackle and took off maybe 1/8 of the Purrloin's total. The next hit knocked him from 9 to 4 and he hit back with another Tackle. On the next turn, I gave him one of the Potions to bump him up to 14, then the Purrloin hit to knock him down to 9. Next turn, the Purrloin hit to knock him down to 4, then he hit back and took a little off. And that became the pattern - every other turn I gave him a potion, then he got in a hit, then I gave him a potion, then he got in a hit. All I could do was hope the Purrloin didn't get a crit while he was at 9. It only got one though, and it came while he was at full health, knocking him from 14 all the way down to 3. And in the end we won. It took all 7 of the freshly purchased potions (I only had one left - the one from Route 1) and after the battle, Sebastian went all the way from level 2 to level 6. Unfortunately, I got so caught up in the battle that I forgot to grab any screenshots. I took the money from the battle, plus what I had left over, and bought some more potions.

From there on out, it's been surprisingly easy. We breezed through Route 2, including battling Bianca at the end of it (Yes Bianca, you are in trouble). Got in to Striaton City and fought Cheren at the school, then went to the Dreamyard and picked up the Panpour and named him Carl. Cruised through the first gym.

Then we went back to the Dreamyard. Taught Carl Cut and went in and fought the grunts, and Sebastian reached level 16 and evolved into Herdier.

I wondered what was going to happen with the double battles - the first one is the twins in front of the Day Care on Route 3. Turns out they won't battle you, and won't let you past, unless you have two Pokemon. I had put Carl in the PC after the Dreamyard, so I went back and got him out, but then I had to figure out what to do with him. The only non-attacking move he had was Leer, which still has an effect on the other team, so he still would've been helping out in any fight and it wouldn't be a solo run. So I taught him Work Up via TM, then went and fought the twins. Sebastian did all the work while Carl just stood there and Worked Up (and he only had to do it twice, since Sebastian one-shotted their Purrloins on consecutive turns), so I figure it still counts as a solo run. Best I can do anyway, since they insist on a double battle.

Then on to Nacrene City. Fought N outside the Museum, swung out and around outside Pinwheel Forest (though no Fighter in my party, so no Star Piece from the Challenge Rock), then back to Lenora's gym. Sebastian was level 21 going in and level 23 by the time we worked through the underlings. Lenora (and her Watchog) were the first real challenge since N's Purrloin all the way back at level 2, but it was never any real danger. Its Retaliates took a bit over a third of Sebastian's points, and I had plenty of potions and plenty of patience, so it was just a matter of time.

Finished, got the badge, then it was on to Pinwheel Forest to fight the trainers and recover the skull, then across Skyarrow bridge (easily one of my favorite things ever in any Pokemon game) and on to Castelia City.

Explored the whole city, fought all the trainers, met Burgh, fought the grunts, got that warm feeling when Bianca was reunited with her Munna, and saved just inside the door to Burgh's gym.

This whole thing has been much easier than I even expected. I sort of expected to end up overleveled, even though we haven't ground at all (and haven't even seen a lot of Pokemon, since we only go through the grass as much as necessary to get from point A to point B), just because Sebastian fights every trainer battle and gets every experience point. But we're about 10 levels beyond anything we see in random encounters and at least three or four levels beyond even the toughest trainers. Sebastian one-shots almost everything, and most often with Tackle. He uses Rock Smash on Rocks and Darks and sometimes Normals and Crunch on Psychics and such, and that's it. He had Take Down for a while, but never used it much since Tackle does plenty, and without the recoil.

Currently at Burgh's gym, Castelia City:

I tried using A-Starter to hack in Elekid as my started in Liquid Crystal, but the game keeps glitching out on me so I'll scrap it.

Instead I'll do an Ultimate Run using Electabuzz through Leaf Green - Crystal - Emerald - Platinum - Black

I'll get on the Leaf Green playthrough right away!

EDIT: Got enough done for an update, a little over leveled at this stage but I'm okay with it.

Update #1
-Hacked in Elekid.
-Beat rival with no problem.
-Went through Viridian Forest.
-Took on Brock and defeated him much easier than expected.
-Went through Mt. Moon.
-Took on Rival south of Nugget Bridge.
-Made way to Bill's House and turned him back into a human.
-Battled Misty and OHKO'd both of her Pokémon.
-Buzzy evolved into Electabuzz while going through the SS Anne
-Beat Rival just outside Captain's Quarters.
-Took down Surge without a sweat, being over leveled is amazing!

Burgh was mostly easy except for Leavanny. Each of its Razor Leafs took a bit less than half of Sebastian's HP, while nothing Sebastian had (Tackle, Rock Smash and Bite, plus Work Up at that point) did much more than about a third in return. I had one X Speed (I've never used battle items before, but I can see them coming in handy for this run), so I decided to use it and at least get out in front of the Leavanny, but it countered almost immediately with String Shot, so we just kept plodding along. Three Super Potions and two Lemonades later, it was over and we had won.

Then went back and healed and it was on to Route 4. Fought Bianca at the gate, then Cheren on the road - neither one was any trouble at all. Headed out into the desert, then down and around to the water and fought the two fisherman. At the end of the second one, Sebastian went to level 32 and evolved to Stoutland. Worked our way through the rest of the desert, then picked up the Dig TM from a construction worker near the road to Desert Resort and taught Dig to Sebastian. Shame that he can't learn Earthquake or even Bulldoze, but it'll have to do. Then it was on to Nimbasa City.

Met Professor Juniper at the gate and got the Quick Balls (funny that pokeballs means absolutely nothing now), then went in and rescued the Day Care guy and got the bicycle. Got the Strength TM, then tried to figure out what I was going to do with it. I checked a bit and discovered that Rufflet can learn Cut, Strength and Fly, which will work perfectly with Carl the Panpour learning all the water HMs, so I traded in a Rufflet named Benny and taught him Cut and Strength. And Work Up, so that he'll have something non-combat to do with his turns if he ends up in a double battle. Went to the Amusement Park, took the dull ferris wheel ride with N then mopped the floor with his pokemon. Then we went out onto Route 5 and dealt with those trainers, then headed toward Route 16, but stopped when we got the Macho Brace from a guy in the gate house. I decided it'd be a good time to work on Sebastian's EVs a bit, since we were about to start getting into stuff with unwanted Special Attack EVs, so we went all the way back to the Dreamyard and turned circles for a while, fainting Patrats, Purrloins and Munnas, for Attack, Speed and HP respectively. Did that until I was too bored to do it any more, then headed back to Nimbasa, swinging by Desert Resort along the way. Trudged through there and dealt with all the trainers, then went back into town, healed up, then went out onto Route 16 and dealt with those trainers.

Took a screenie since there's a gesture that Ducklett makes that amuses me.

It's as if it's trying vainly to interrupt - "Oh - hang on a sec'... umm..."

Then back into town to heal, and saved outside the door to Elesa's gym.

Sebastian - male Stoutland, level 38
Adamant / Intimidate

Hey there guys! I gonna do a Girafarig solo run for LeafGreen, Crystal and Emerald. Why? Well, I set these guidelines for myself:

1. I will use a Pokemon at random
2. The Pokemon randomly selected must not be a pure Normal-type
3. The Pokemon randomly selected must have at least 1 attacking move at Level 5

The RNG gave me 203, which is Girafarig. Now I'm not gonna do a full Ultimate challenge with it because I'm not in the mood to do DS games, but I will do the GBC/GBA games.

Ok!Im giving this challenge a shot!
Ultimate or single-Ultimate
Pokemon which is going to be used-Beedrill

December 28th, 2012, 9:57 AM

Cruised through Elesa's gym. Sebastian outsped everything her underlings had, including the Emolgas, and OHKOed all of them and got to her without even having been hit once.

Sebastian one-shotted her first Emolga with a Return, but took a Static paralyze. The second Emolga came out and I took the turn to use a Paralyz Heal, and it hit Sebastian with a Volt Switch and the Zebstrika came out. Sebastian used Dig and Zebstrika missed with a Spark, then went down on the next turn when the Dig hit. The Emolga came back out and Sebastian one-shotted it with Return, and that was that.

Went out to Route 5, met Alder, watched Cheren be Cheren, then went across the drawbridge and on to Driftveil. Went through the town and talked to everyone. I was sort of wondering what I was going to do about the Heart Scale lady, since I don't have a bunch of pokemon to teach TMs to in exchange for Heart Scales, and I'm going to need some later to teach Sebastian the elemental Fangs. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do, since the first one she asked for was Dig, and Sebastian already has it. I also debated what to do about Charles and the Triple Battle, and finally decided to just go for it. I put Sebastian in the second spot, so he'd be in the middle, and then he attacked on each turn while Carl and Benny just used Work Up. Sebastian took his team down in three turns - one OHKO each. Then it was on to Cold Storage, which worked out just like Elesa's gym - nothing touched Sebastian the entire time we were in there - he outsped and one-shotted everything he faced, though I did have to leave before the final showdown and go to the PC and come back, since his Return was running out of PP.

Then it was off to Clay's gym. And again, the underlings never even touched Sebastian, and soon enough, we were down at the bottom, facing Clay.

One-shotted his Krokorok with a Rock Smash, then one-shotted his Palpitoad with a Return. Then it was time to face the Murder Mole...

What indeed? Sebastian had Dig, and I was sure that it would one-shot Excadrill, but using Dig against a Ground type is a gamble, since Earthquake-style moves hit for double damage on an opponent who's underground. But there was no other good choice, so I went for it. Had a brief moment of relief and fear when Excadrill countered with Bulldoze - relief that it didn't have EQ, but fear that Bulldoze would do the same thing - but then discovered that there's a significant difference, beyond the difference in power, between Bulldoze and EQ. Bulldoze misses underground opponents completely.

And that was it for Clay, and Sebastian had come through without a scratch.

Left the gym, swung by the PC, then went out towards Route 6. Ran into Bianca and trounced her, then got the Fly HM from her. Taught Fly to Benny, then decided to fly home for a bit. Went by the Professor's lab and showed her my Pokedex and got the False Swipe TM, then worked our way through the routes to Striaton and to the Dreamyard to do some more EV training, and that's where we are right now. I want to wrap that up, then it's on to Route 6 and Chargestone Cave...

Sebastian - male Stoutland - lvl 43
Adamant / Intimidate

-Rock Smash

Benny the Rufflet - Fly, Cut, Strength and Work Up
Carl the Panpour - Work Up and filler - waiting for the water HMs

Edit for another update:

We made our way up through Route 6, battling the trainers along the way. Caught a Deerling for the scientists, then just put it in a box (the only thing in my PC other than Snivy, who's been there since he helped me catch Sebastian). Talked to N, then talked to Bianca and Professor Juniper and got the Lucky Egg from the Prof. Worked through the cave, mostly under Repel, just because too many things have Static and I just didn't want to deal with it. Had a sort of interesting thing happen with the last trainer before N - he had a Tirtouga that Sebastian did NOT one-shot - that's the first time that's happened in I-don't-even-know-how-long. Then went on and battled N yet again. Sebastian ended up taking a fair amount of damage in that one, but mostly because Sturdy kept him from one-shotting the Boldore and he had to hit the Ferroseed twice and take Iron Barbs damage both times.

Got in to Mistralton City - met Professor Juniper Sr. and Skyla, got the Pokedex upgrade, then went to the Move family's house and Carl forgot Cut (he's had it since the Dreamyard, but hasn't needed it since I added Benny) and Sebastian learned Ice Fang. Went up through the tall grass and ended up facing a triple battle with a trainer there, with Sebastian predictably in the lead, so on the far left for the battle and unable to hit the pokemon on the far right. Swore a bit and restarted, which took me back to the beginning of the tall grass. Worked my way through again, then put Sebastian in second position and faced that trainer again. Sebastian swept the opponents in three turns while Carl and Benny stood there and Worked Up. Then put Sebastian back in the lead and went on to Celestial Tower. The only thing of any particular note that happened in there was Sebastian's first encounter with another Stoutland.

Predictably, he mopped the floor with it. The 16 level advantage certainly helped. Got to the top, rang the bell, then flew back to town, healed (refilled PP, more accurately) then it was on to Skyla's gym. Breezed through the underlings with Sebastian's Ice Fang, although I realized that Thunder Fang might've been the better choice the first time I came to a Ducklett, particularly since that reminded me that Skyla had a Swanna. But Return one-shotted it anyway, so that was fine.

Swept Skyla's team easily, including a one-shot on the Swanna with Return. Another gym down with no damage taken at all.

Left and went to talk to the kids, then to retrieve the Aerial Ace TM. Decided to put Rock Smash back on Sebastian for the time being, to handle the Boldores in Twist Mountain, then set out over the walkways. Actually ended up making a battle with one of the clowns on the walkways a bit tough. When we battled the first one, Sebastian one-shotted his Emolga, but got a Static Paralyze, then I forgot to heal it. So when we got to the other one, he was still paralyzed, which made that battle kind of interesting. Still won pretty easily, but I had to actually sit up and focus for a bit.

Got to the base of Twist Mountain and fought Cheren and pulverized him again (poor guy), then met Alder and got the Surf TM. Taught Surf to Carl, then decided to put off Twist Mountain for the time being. Flew home, said hi to Mom, showed my pokedex to the Prof and got the Protect TM, then went up to the water's edge on Route 1 and saved there, ready to go explore.

-Took down Blaine, but forgot how irritating Pokémon Mansion could be.
-Beat the Viridian Gym Leader, it was Giovanni (shock!).
-Beat all of the Elite Four.
-Defeated Dylan to become the Champion!

Undecided if I'll start on Crystal right away, I feel like playing through my Platinum or finishing White 2 before I start a new challenge. I really enjoyed the Leaf Green playthrough and can't wait for Crystal!

Going to be doing a solo challenge with Totodile it will count as a MonoType/Mono-Colour and Solo challenge so Goodluck me! :D

January 1st, 2013, 10:59 AM

Haven't done a lot on this the last couple of days - I got back into my Black playthrough for a while and, honestly, I'm finding this sort of dull. I wasn't sure how a solo would work out, since this is my first. Initially, I was worried that it'd be tough, which is part of why I went with Lillipup - I knew that Stoutland was dependable and, with the elemental Fangs, had great coverage. As it turns out though, this isn't tough at all - quite the opposite. It's so easy that I find it hard to even pay attention. Sebastian is level 59 now and I'm still carrying around Potions from the beginning of the game. He almost never even gets hit, and the few times he does, it takes just a tiny fraction of his HP. If it wasn't for running out of PP, I wouldn't even have to go to a Pokemon Center. At this point, I'm just pushing to get this done so I can do another one with a much weaker pokemon and actually be challenged by a challenge.

So... I had left Sebastian at the water's edge on Route 1, ready for some Surfing via Carl the Panpour. Used a Max Repel to avoid annoying battles with Basculin, and later Frillish, and away we went. Blew through the trainers, stopped and picked up the Larvesta egg, blew through the rest of the trainers, gathered all the items (including a Waterfall for Carl), then back to land. Then we did a round of everywhere we'd been, Surfing and Waterfalling and seeing and gathering all the stuff that was out of reach before. Then it was back to Twist Mountain, with a detour through Mistralton to refill PP. Blew through the trainers in the mountain, then out to Icirrus City. Went all around the city, taking advantage of the winter snow and ice, and along the way the Larvesta egg hatched - Timid male - very nice. Put it in a box - I'm either going to use it in whatever post-game I do in this or trade it out to another game. I considered putting Fire Fang on Sebastian for Brycen's gym, but I only have a few Heart Scales and it's tough getting more. Swung by the Heart Scale lady's house and she wanted to see someone with Focus Blast, which none of my team can learn. That sort of thing has been the case more often than it hasn't, and I decided not to catch stuff just to put TMs on for Heart Scales, so that's the way it goes. And Sebastian had Rock Smash anyway, and his Return is brutal, so I just let it go, and it was on to Brycen's gym. Cruised through the underlings without taking a single hit, and soon enough came to Brycen.

The only spot of trouble came when we faced his Beartic. It was the first thing in a while that Sebastian didn't OHKO, and it hit back with Swagger. I considered just pushing on and gambling that Sebastian would hit in spite of confusion, but just didn't want to mess with it, so I took a turn for a Full Heal, and the Beartic hit with an Icicle Crash that actually took about about 30 points off of Sebastian. But then he KOed it on the next turn, then turned the Cyrogonal into dust and that was that.

Then we flew back to Driftveil and got Deerling out of the PC and went up and saved at the lab on Route 6, ready to show the scientist Deerling's Spring form. Then it's back to Icirrus City and on to Dragonspiral Tower.

I hacked my starter to be a Smoochum and did all the Mr. Pokemon stuff.
Beat my rival Silver and got some nice experience.
Went to Violet City, conquered Sprout Tower, and took down Falkner.
Got the Mystery Egg and went through Union Cave.
Helped Kurt save the Slowpoke.
Beat Bugsy and went to face Silver once more, showed him who is boss once more.
Travelled through Ilex Forest and made it to Goldenrod City.
Took out Whitney, got the Squirtbottle and defeated the Sudowoodo.
Beat Silver once more and release the Legendary Beasts.
Did some training and evolved Smoocum into Jynx
Went to Morty's gym and defeated the trainers.
Saved in front of Morty, maybe I'll continue later today.

Took out Jasmine with ease thanks to freeze hax Ice Punch on her Steelix.
Flew to Ecruteak and surfed over to Mahogany Town.
Went up to the Lake of Rage, defeated the Red Gyarados and looked like a boss infront of Lance.
Helped Lance take out Team Rocket in Mahogany Town.
Took out Pryce and flew back to Goldenrod to finish off Team Rocket.
Beat the fake director and got the Basement Key, so I headed to the basment.

Made some more progress since last night.

Freed the real director and got the Card Key.
Used the Card Key and finished Team Rocket once and for all.
Flew to Blackthorn City and beat Claire, lucky freeze hax on Kingdra made it a perfect win.
Completed the Dragon Challenge and got the badge.
Flew home and got the Master Ball from Prof. Elm.
Surfed over to Kanto, now for the Pokemon League!

Level 54

I travelled through Victory Road and crushed Silver again.
Healled at the Pokemon League and got some items.
Took out Will with no problem, everything 1HKO'd except his damn Slowbro, took my Shadow Ball like a boss.
Took out Koga easily, everything 1HKO'd except Forretress, bulky as hell and I have only not very effective moves.
1HKO'd all of Bruno's Pokemon. Ice Punch + Confusion :)
2HKO'd Karen's Umbreon and Houndoom, everything else was a 1 hit.
Lance was easy, ended that battle unharmed. Gyarados was the only one to survive an Ice Punch and it used Rain Dance, lol. Even Charizard was a 1 hit.
Well thats it for the Elite Four, now for the Kanto badges and Red!

Update on my single solo through White with Sebastian the Stoutland:When last we saw Arlo and Sebastian, they were outside Dragonspiral Tower.

Talked to Prof. Juniper Sr., then left him in the capable hands of his new bodyguard Bianca and went inside. Sebastian lost a few points every time he had to hit a Druddigon, but other than that, the trip to the top was entirely uneventful and risk-free. And we got there just in time to see N revive Reshiram.

Talked to the prof afterward and got the hint to go to Relic Castle. Blew through the trainers there, got to the bottom, faced down Ghetsis and found out there was nothing to be found there. Then got the call to go to the museum in Nacrene City, where we finally picked up the Dark Stone. Then flew back to Icirrus City and went through Route 8, picking up the few things we couldn't reach when we'd swung out through there before, during winter. Fought Bianca at the entrance to Tubeline Bridge, and demolished her yet again.

Through the bridge and out on Route 9. Fought trainers and went into the Department Store.... and realized there's nothing we need to buy anyway. That's been an odd thing with this solo run - I'm loaded down with items I've picked up and never used and with money I've earned and never spent. Went back out and on to Opelucid City. Talked to Iris and Drayden, then went through town, only avoiding the Triple Battle house. Then flew back to Mistralton, where Sebastian relearned Ice Fang, then went into Iris' gym.

Blew through the trainers, only taking damage from Rough Skin from the Druddigons, and soon came to face Iris.

Took down all three of her pokemon in one shot each, and just like that, it was over.

Back out - yes Prof. Juniper, I do know where to go next thank you very much. Down to the Pokemon center to heal and replenish PP, then it was on to Route 10. Fought the trainers, talked to Cheren and Bianca, fought Cheren - one-shotted his entire team - then it was on to the gates, with Bianca's inspirational speech lingering in my mind.

I didn't notice last time through those gates how cool that music actually is. I like that whole part of the game - making my way up through the gates - even if every new section is a different cell, so there's a loading pause at each gate (and kudos to GF for commenting on that in-game).

Then we stepped out to the base of the mountain, and the entrance to Victory Road, where we stopped for a well-earned bit of rest.

January 6th, 2013, 12:56 PM
Finished Pokemon Crystal!!

So I travelled all around Kanto getting all the badges. It was pretty easy.
Then I went to tell Prof. Oak about my great accomplishment and he gave me access to Mt. Silver!
Red was pretty difficult, both his Charizard and Snorlax had me terrified. But in the end I took him down. :)

Another update:
Went through Victory Road normally until I got tired of dealing with Durants (which took about 45 seconds), then did the rest of it under Max Repel. My second time through it now, so I got to look around and consider it a bit more, and as Victory Roads go, I really have to say that this one's not bad. It's still tedious, but there've been much worse. Looped around and got all the items, even though none of them are really of any use to Sebastian. Then came out in front of the League.

Knowing what I was going to be facing, I decided that Ice Fang, much though I like it, wasn't going to do me much good, so I replaced it with Aerial Ace. Even that wasn't really necessary, and it actually does just a little bit less damage than Return (Aerial Ace is 75 so super effective on a fighter it's 150, Return is 105 so with neutral STAB it's 157), but I just wanted another useful attack so I had no risk of running out of PP.

So this was Sebastian, ready to go in...

http://i50.tinypic.com/e0mjhk.png and http://i47.tinypic.com/24yuwq9.png

And first up was Shauntal.

I figured she was going to be easy, and she was. Her ghosts went down to a single Crunch each. And it was on to Grimsley.

He was a bit tougher. Scrafty survived a Return, but he countered with Sand Attack, so I hit him with an Aerial Ace for a KO. Krookodile survived a Return and countered with an Earthquake that took about a third off of Sebastian. Grimsley used one of his Full Restores on the next turn and Sebastian hit with another Return. Then Grimsley used his other Full Restore and Sebastian hit again. Finally on the next turn he KO'ed the Krookodile. Bisharp next - Dig on the first (and second) turn, then Sebastian took a minor loss to a Night Slash, then Dig again for the KO. And finally Liepard. I took the first turn to give Sebastian a Hyper Potion while Liepard hit with the predicted Fake Out, then Sebastian KOed it easily with a Return on the next turn. Next up, Caitlin.

As I expected, her psychics were no problem - like Shauntal's Ghosts, they all went down to a single Crunch each. Then what I figured would be the toughest challenge for a Stoutland - Marshal's fighters.

He opened with Throh and Sebastian took him down with a crit on an Aerial Ace. Next up was Conkeldurr. Sebastian hit with an AA and took it down to less than 25%, then it countered with a Hammer Arm that took Sebastian down to 80 points (from his total of 218). I pondered it a minute and decided to go for it, and Marshal didn't use a potion, so the next AA fainted Conkeldurr. Next up was Mienshao. I was feeling exposed with Sebastian at 80 points, so I took a turn to give him a Hyper Potion, and Mienshao hit with a Jump Kick and took Sebastian right back down to 90 points. I could see that going on for too long, so I gambled on Sebastian's speed (and 20 level advantage) and set up an Aerial Ace, which went first and hit for a OHKO. Then it was Sawk's turn. I knew Sturdy was going to be a problem, and I knew that Sebastian couldn't survive starting at 90 points, so I gave him another Hyper Potion on the first turn. And Sawk hit with, of all things, Karate Chop. It took about 45 points off of Sebastian. So I just let it go and hit with an AA, which failed OHKO only because of Sturdy, while Sawk countered with another weak Karate Chop. On the next turn, Marshal gave Sawk a Full Restore, then Sebastian hit him with another AA that was stopped by Sturdy. We just repeated that until Marshal ran out of Full Restores, then KOed him. Much easier than I thought it was going to be.

Then it was on to the promised final battle with the Champion. Except, of course, that there was no battle with the Champion, because N was already there, and then Bowser's... I mean N's castle popped up out of the ground and so on.

I have to admit though, as sort of cheesy as all that is, it's really pretty cool when the Gym Leaders show up and confront the Sages.

Went up through the castle and talked to everyone and such, then saved in front of the last door, ready to go in and face down N. And Ghetsis. And Ghetsis' Hydreigon.

Yeah... I prob'ly oughta put Ice Fang back on Sebastian first, now that I think about it...

And edited for another update:
Used the unexplained Team Plasma teleporter to zip back to the Pokemon League, then flew to Mistralton to get Ice Fang back on Sebastian. Then back to the Pokemon League and back to N's Castle, and went in for the showdown. Went through all the preliminaries, then saved in front of Zekrom, since I have no use for a legendary even in a normal game, much less in a solo, so it was going to be Quick Ball or nothing at all. Took about six tries to finally catch one in a Quick Ball, then it was on to the battle, at which point I discovered that not only does the damned game force you to catch Zekrom and add it to your party if there's space - it actually sticks it in the lead position! What the hell? If I wanted it in the lead position, I'd've put it there my own damned self.

So I had to waste the first turn just to switch in Sebastian, who then took an entirely unnecessary Fusion Flare from Reshiram. Sebastian hit on the next turn with an Ice Fang, but with Reshiram's dual typing with Fire, it only did neutral damage. Sebastian took a Hyper Beam that took him down to about half, then KOed Reshiram on the next turn with another Return. Next in was Klinklang, and Sebastian set up a Dig. Hit with the Dig on the next turn, and Klinklang turned back into Zoroark. Hit him with a Return for a KO. Next up was the real Klinklang, who went down to a single Dig, and Sebastian leveled up to lvl 70. Next up was Vanilluxe - OHKO with a Return. Then Carracosta. Sebastian was still at a bit less than half - had been ever since taking that Hyper Beam from Reshiram. I debated a bit and decided to go for it on Carracosta and used Dig. It knocked it down to just a sliver of red, but didn't KO it, and it countered with a Stone Edge that..... missed. Phew - that would've been a near certain KO if it had hit. Set Sebastian up with a Crunch for the next turn and N used a Full Restore on Carracosta, then the Crunch took it down to about 1/4. Another Crunch and it was KOed. And last up was Archeops, who went down to a single Ice Fang. Then Ghetsis took over.

And Reshiram was still in the lead, where the game had put it against my will. So once again I had to waste the first turn switching it out. And Sebastian switched right into a Toxic from Cofagrigus. He set up a Crunch for the next turn and Cofagrigus Protected. Another Crunch, and this one hit for damage plus the lowered defense added effect, and Cofagrigus was in the low red. It countered with a Psychic that didn't do much to Sebastian. Another Crunch and Ghetsis used a Full Restore on Cofagrigus, but the Crunch fainted it anyway.

Next up was Hydreigon. I took the first turn to give Sebastian a Full Restore, while Hydreigon set up a Focus Blast that missed. On the next turn, Sebastian hit with an Ice Fang that knocked Hydreigon down into yellow and it countered with another Focus Blast that left Sebastian with a bit more than half of his HP. The next turn was a Sebastian Ice Fang for a KO.

Then Bouffalant. I gambled (since Sebastian was at just a bit more than half HP) and opened with a Return that took Bouffalant down into the red, but didn't faint it. It countered with a Head Charge and I thought it was all over. The Head Charge hit and left Sebastian with 23 HP. I gave him a Hyper Potion on the next turn and braced myself for another Head Charge, and Bouffalant hit with... Poison Jab. Shrugged it off and hit with another Return for a KO. Next was Seismitoad - Return - KO. Then Bisharp - Dig - KO. And finally Eelektross - Return - KO.

Watched the finale unfold, then listened to N's parting speech.

And then the credits ran, and as far as I'm concerned, the game's over. I'm not sure if I'll keep going or not. I know the (arbitrary) rules say that a BW challenge isn't over until I REchallenge the E4, but the credits have rolled and the game is technically over. It's not my fault that GF set this one up the way they did, and I see no reason why an exception should be made for BW, requiring players to beat the E4 TWICE in order to claim a completed game. That and, frankly, I'm tired of this challenge. It became tedious a while back, and I'm really not looking forward to going all the way through the rest of the map just so that I can grind enough levels to take Sebastian BACK to the E4 and fight and defeat the same trainers I already fought and defeated once. I think I'd rather do another solo (or an entirely different one), with a weaker pokemon, in a game in which I'm not expected to beat the E4 twice.

And did anyone even read this?

I'm signing up for this :3. I'll be doing a single challenge, with Magby in Crystal <3. The updates will be coming in around an hour or two :D.

January 10th, 2013, 12:31 AM
So I decided to use one of my favourite pokemon to do a Solo Challenge, won't be an ultimate however. Helico the Omastar destroyed Crystal in about 5 hours real time, such a boss pokemon. Not the best moveset in Gen II, but hey. Here's the summary, pics included:

Had to grind with constrict for so long in order to have a useful move to defeat Falkner/Sprout Tower

Yeah that was easy

So was that

Rollout ftw

Decided to enter the Bug Catching contest for training purposes, Cut/Strength/Rock Smash slave

Bite destroyed them. Also, in Gen II if you cause a pokemon to faint, curse doesn't affect you at the end of the round. Neat huh?

Took on Rockets in Mahogany first. Became a total OHKO machine

These 3 got shut down pretty easily

Seriously, making me go to the stupid Dragon's Den? Not funny Clair

Rollout KO'd the first 4, Surf for Crobat

Surf x5

2 Rollouts, since the first ended after 4 turns. Again the Curse thing helps

Rollout for Gyarados and 3 Dragonites, Surf for Charizard/Aerodactyl. Now Kanto!

Seriously these guys were stupidly easy. About 35 mins from start to finish for all of them put together. Only healed when I started to run out of PP

Bit more thinking required here, used Full Restores twice, but that was it. Completed!

Didn't grab a screenshot of the final stats, but here's the summary of Helico:
Helico, level 76
Rollout/Bite/Icy Wind/Surf

HM Slaves:
Chikorita: Cut
Pinsir: Cut, Strength, Rock Smash
Mantine: Waterfall, Whirlpool
Tangela: Flash

For some weird reason, I never got Fly. Just ran everywhere at superspeed.

So that was fun. Won't do anymore regions with Helico however.

Catch ya('all) later

There hasn't been another post, but I have completed another run. This time, Ptera the Aerodactyl made his way through Hoenn with ease, whilst also proving his Toughness and picking up a couple of friend along the way. Here we go:

I forgot to take pics of Gym Leaders/E4, but here's the winning moment vs Steven

Final stats. Had Aerial Ace all through Hoenn, but replaced it with Flamethrower for the final battle vs Steven

Also, didn't take screenshots, but caught Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, all 3 Regis and Latios cause I could. Might get a flashcart and transfer them to my Soul Silver at some point.

Pokemon: http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/k503/Gzomyndzor/Farfetchd_zps47f5716f.png Farfetch'd
Game: Platinum

I will begin this as soon as my monotype challenge ends.

January 29th, 2013, 3:17 PM
Finally got my Crystal version up and running after some slight hiccups. Here's what I've done so far.

Got Raichu from Prof. Elm. Named it Tron.

Took off to get egg from Mr. Pokemon.

Got the map card from the Old Man.

Got the egg from Mr. Pokemon.

Battled my rival for the first time. He chose Cyndiquil. Also named him Clu.

Had mom save my money while I battle random strangers.

Defeated Falkner with ease for my first badge.

Got Flash from Bellsprout Tower.

I picked up the egg from Mr. Pokemon at the Pokemon Center from one of Prof. Elms assistants.

Found a few Uknown in the Ruins of Alph.

Caught a Bellsprout and named it Belle. It gets taught Flash.

Made my way through Union Cave without incident.

After Union Cave I help Kurt get back all the towns Slowpoke from Team Rocket. Their poor tails.

I take on Clu for the second time. His Cyndaquil has somehow evolved into a Croconaw. I kid you not.

A little after this battle the mystery egg hatched. It's a Togepi I have decided to name Eggbert. He's promptly shoved into a box until I get closer to Prof. Elm to show him.

Tron the Raichu: 1 out of 8 badges obtained.

Level: 20 (I fight everything I run into)
HP: 62
Attack: 48
Defense: 33
Special Attack: 45
Special Defense: 41
Speed: 49

Thundershock/Tail Whip/Quick Attack/Thunderbolt.

On a side note, he still learns nothing. Seriously, rock/ground types suck with this pokemon until I can learn Iron Tail, which I have no idea where I get in Crystal.

Tron the Riachu Ultimate Solo Challenge:
Leaf Green - Completed: 8 of 8 badges obtained, Elite 4 defeated
Crystal - 1 of 8 badges obtained
Emerald -

Will use emulators because my current saves for my actual cartridges are precious to me, lol.

Using Ditto for all of these.

Pokemon Yellow

Just after the battle with Pewter Gym, Slurpy's level is 18.
Grinding super hard right now lol.

The most treacherous cave ever: Rock Tunnel. Both annoying and time consuming, no? Even speeding it up didn't change how I felt about this cave. Cleared the Rock Tunnel and the Routes around Lavender Town. Slurpy's now level 45.

Travelled through the underground tunnel and headed to Celadon City where I kicked Team Rocket's butt for the Silph Scope and died whole bunch at Celadon Gym. Slurpy is level 49

Went through the Pokemon Tower, and spent a good hour there until I finally managed through it. After the Pokemon Tower, I wandered around Celadon City, forgetting where to get the damn 'drink' for those stupid officers. That took at least 30 minutes for me to remember. Finally, I headed over to Saffron city, where I spent another hour trying to get through Silph Co. This was when I realized how much I hated Gary and the Team Rocket gang with their stupidly repetitive Pokemon. I then proceeded to die a bajillion times in the Saffron Gym because of an Alakazam that does nothing but Recover itself. I used a total of, no joke, 94 Super Potions and 32 Revives, 90% of that being against Sabrina. Slurpy is now level 60
Badge numero CINCO.

Wow. Fuschia Gym was easier than I thought, but the outer areas were not. I think I've used Koffing at least 20 times. So bad :(. Anyway, I'm nearing the end. I've spent most of my day doing this and I'm determined to get these runs finished asap. :) Slurpy is now level 68 and doing a lot better.
Badge numero SEIS

I did not think ahead. Although I managed to clean out the entire area surrounding Cinnabar for some extra EXP, Cinnabar Island is tough. It's all fire and the worst part? The Abandoned Museum. Yeah. No money left to get enough repels to last, so I'm unintentionally grinding there and wasting potions. Blaine wasn't much of a problem, but still used a LOT of Super Potions and Revives to get him down. His Rapidash and Arcanine are a PAIN. Slurpy's now level 74.
Badge numero SIETE

Okay, well, I didn't expect to finish Viridian so quickly. Transforming into Dugtrio burned through Giovanni's whole team within seconds (speeding up with emu). Every trainer in the gym had very effective initial Pokemon for me to plow through their teams. Anyway, I only got one level. Slurpy's now level 75. And now we're ready to head out to the Indigo Plateau&Elite 4! :)
Badge numero OCHO (complete!)

Passed through the oh-so annoying Victory Road and bought a whole bunch of Full Restores and Revives. Slurpy's now level 79 and ready to challenge the league.

Beat the league, and made a speedy, quick video.
Here it is:

Update Time!

Took on Bugsy with no trouble. Most everything in the gym went down in one hit besides his Scyther, it took 2. 2/8

Headed to Ilex Forest. Pretty easy roping the farfetch'd back to it's owner. Obtained Cut, taught it to Belle. Obtained Headbutt, taught that to Tron.

Made my way to Goldenrod City. After trying to figure out how to get the items in the Mart Basement, I gave up. Instead I got the Bike from the Bike Shop. Sweetness, no more walking.

Took on Gym Pink while I was here. Whitney's Miltank was only 4 levels under Tron and gave me the most trouble in taking 3 headbutts to the face to take down. Obtained the badge without trouble otherwise. 3/8

Making my way North from Goldenrod I got lost. After cutting my way through a bush I found the wiggly tree again. Seeing as I couldn't get past it, I went East instead and found the National Park. Since I went South from there I ended up full circle in Goldenrod again. I grabbed the squirtbottle and headed back to the wiggly tree.

After spraying the tree it attacked. I caught it and named it Not A Tree, the liar. Shoved it into a box and took out Eggbert to take to Prof. Elm. He gave me an Everstone, considered it to be a waste of a trip.

After getting lost on where to go for awhile I ended up in Ecruteak City. Taking on the Kimono girls was my first stop. Everything going down in one hit besides the Umbreon, that took two. Obtained Surf and realized I have nothing to learn it.

Went to take on the Gym after this with no such luck as the leader wasn't here. Instead I went to the burnt tower and found the leader who wasn't leaving. Saw Clu and decided to take him on. All his pokemon went down in one hit, still has a Croconaw though. Afterwards he mocks me for falling down a hole, the jerk.

After releasing the 3 dog pokmeon I made my way to the gym. Everything besides Gengar goes down in one hit, it took two. This gym also skyrocketed Tron up 2 levels, awesome. 4/8

Next up I went back to Ilex forest to pick up 2 Psyduck. Named them Milo and Kida. Taught Milo Surf, Flash, and Rock Smash for now. Kida learned Dig. Stuck Belle into the box for now. 4 of 4 Pokemon on me.

Going back through Goldenrod I took care of some things I forgot. Grabbed the Coin Case, Radio Card, and the Blue Card. Also went back down to the Day Care to get the Odd Egg. Do eggs count as party too? Once it hatches it's going straight into a box either way.

Made my way East from Ecruteak City after this hoping to find a Farfetch'd on route 38. No such luck so far though, will keep looking.

Congratulatios on taking ownership of the Solo Challenge, James901! Glad to see my name up on the list now.

I would post an in depth up date, but I usually use Bulbapedia as a reference, which is really hard to do without a computer. I beat Maylene last night, earning my 4th badge. Gonna try to finish this challenge quickly after I finish Love In The Clouds.

I have a question i have beaten Fire red with only my arbok can i get into this Challenge? i have screenshots of hall of fame and a screenshot of the 2nd slaying of the champion where Arbok is at lvl. 100. i only used other pokes to capture enough pokemon after the first elite four to get to sevii islands 4-7 and in double battles where i just shifted between my hm slaves so they didn't have to attack?

I don't quite understand the question. Are you asking to be put in the champions list? If yes then no problem I'll change it right away, it would be good to see the screenshot though its not manditory. Also for the Kanto games the challenge ends when your beat the champion, your rival, the first time so whatever you do after that is up to you.
i only used other pokes to capture enough pokemon after the first elite four to get to sevii islands 4-7
Using your slaves and whatnot to catch other Pokemon is fine, just don't fight any trainers unless its with the Pokemon you're soloing with.
and in double battles where i just shifted between my hm slaves so they didn't have to attack?
As for the double battles that's completely understandable, when it comes to them its really up to you what to do. I normally just KO the slaves though switching between them seems like a better option, wish I thought of that. :P

My fault, I've been on this challenge forever, thought I would still be listed. I am on an Ultimate Challenge with Zubat, in second gen right now and just got my fifth badge (Cianwood)

Annnnd speaking of which.

I like water routes. I don't like water routes WHEN I'M TALKING TENTACOOL!

Part 13:

-Observing the Whirl Islands.

Wow, you do go far back. You've been working on that challenge for quite a while. James only just took over, and there are so many posts in the thread and such a huge gap where no one updated that it's no wonder you weren't on the list. It would be a nightmare trying to bring this thread all the way up to speed with all those posts.

Can't wait to get back to this challenge. For whatever reason seeing all your solo posts makes me want to do mine more. lmao. Almost done with Love in the Clouds, then I'll be making the push with Gallade, and maybe starting my other planned solo, Nidoking.

Just started my Pokemon Red run, after rolling Vileplume of all things. Oddish is a REALLY rough start. Like I thought it was going to be impossible until I got Acid. Oh man I can't believe I'd be so excited to get Acid!
e: Turns out I did it. Petal Dance was actually really useful by the endgame and Body Slam is a good move. I give this whole run 2 stars out of 5.

Waha! I finished playing Love In The Clouds, so today I spent some time on my solo challenge. I just beat Crusher Wake, so now I have 5 badges. Solo challenges don't really seem to be my cup of tea to be honest, but I will tough it out and complete this challenge! And maybe do it one more time with Nidoking...

I guess I'm back with this, don't know if all my posts went anywhere, but I am doing Ultimate, and I have completed 3/5 of my generations. FR, G, and Ruby have been finished, I move on now to Diamond, in which I have already completed most of the game (7/8 badges) Pokemon: Arcanine

After demolishing the 7th gym and seeing my rival, Barry, depressed I believe I heard Mars talk about the Veilstone city HQ, Maybe I should take a trip there and rain on some parades. After reaching the HQ, I find that my investigation needs to be further carried out underground and my main goal is to infiltrate the Team Galactic HQ. Thus, I get lost for at least fifteen minutes thinking I had more work to do when I had finished off the last trainer... -_-

(By the way, the last two games [Diamond and Black] will be on my DS so, I'm gonna have to generate Growlithe onto the next game)

Made my way to Olivine City. I met Clu there, while still a jerk I didn't have to fight him.

Since there was no trainer in the gym I headed to the lighthouse. Took a couple of minutes to figure out how to get to the top. After finding out I needed to get medicine getting down was easy.

I headed east after healing. Seeing the Battle Tower I decide to go take it on, only to find out I can't. I head south instead through the maze of water. After making it to Cianwood I enter the first house I see. Out of terror the guy gives me Shuckie the Shuckle who's stuck post haste into the nearest PC terminal. Although I think I'd try to get my pets back if someone stole them, or at the least called the police.

Took on Gym Muscle with minimal effort, although I did have to go out and heal once. 5/8 badges obtained at this point. After getting the medicine from the pharmacy I swam back to Olivine only to figure out that the Gym Leaders wife has Fly, so I swam back to get that. Tick Tock the Hoot Hoot was taken out for the time being for a fly slave.

Flew back to Olivine and entered the cafe to get strength. After that I headed back up to give the Ampharos medicine. Once completed I headed to the Gym. Seeing as all the other gyms were cake to this point I take on the lone little girl. Much to my horror I die 3 times to her Steelix whom I'm 14 levels higher than at this point. I decide it's time to level a bit.

I swam past Mt. Mortor to Mahogony town to do the Lake of Rage quest line. After an hour of figuring out where to go I enter the house to the secret Rocket Base. Going through was pretty easy and I'm done with it in no time.

At this point I'm a level 52 and I figure I'm more than high enough to ruin the Steelixs day. I was wrong. After two more losses I teach Tron Dynamic Punch. I nearly run out of PP before taking it down. 6/8 obtained and I hate this Gym. On the plus side, Iron Tail, so Tron learns that.

Once that was all done I headed to the Radio Tower in Goldenrod. Had to heal up twice before finishing it due to quickly diminishing PP reserves but all in all, it was no trouble. The stupid button puzzle in the Underground Basement however, got me lost for 4 days. I'll be honest, felt like a noob for not knowing the solution was 3-2-1. Yeah...moving right along. Also took on Clu, his team falls easy.

Got the keycard from the Director in the Basement. I'm sure he'll see himself out somehow. After beating the Executive it seems I've saved the Radio Tower, the Director, and Pokemon. All in a days work. After that I headed to Tin Tower. Suicune was captured after 2 Iron Tails, 1 Poke Ball, and 1 Great Ball. I got lucky and Borealis the Suicune is inducted into the PC of northern lights.

Somewhere along the line I forgot to record my 7th badge. So yeah, I'm at 7/8. I remember the frost gym being pretty easy with the big wooly mamoth taking a few hits to bring down. Also, while at Rage Lake I catch Musashi the Farfetch'd and teach it both Cut and Fly. Tick Tock is stuck back and I've got my team for the rest of the game.

I decided after Suicune to see what I missed in Mt. Mortor. After getting some nice items I head east past Mahogony Town and enter the Ice Caves. All the puzzles are easy and I end up in Black Thorn in no time. After some supplies it's time for gym 8.

Claire's gym shows no challenge as everything but a Dratini and her Kingdra go in one hit. The Dratini I accidentally hit with a Mud Slap (This replaced Dynamic Punch) and got a Dragon Rage to the face. Her Kingdra survived 3 Thunderbolts before biting the dust. Unfortunately she hasn't given me the badge yet so 7/8 still.

All in all I got lost a lot and leveled a ton. Hence the ginormous update.

I'll keep this update short.

After foiling Team Galactic's plan of creating a new world, I head to Sunyshore City where My favorite Gym leader seems to be Depressed, Is it me or is everyone around me always depressed, You all should try Cymbalta, the TV says it helps lol. Anyway, I show Volkner that there are some tough trainers out there while satisfying his boredom. I make my way to victory road, which I got out of the way in one trip, thank arceus. The Elite 4 seemed to be a little bit more difficult this time around, Maybe it was Big Bertha's Golem that made it more difficult, oh and I can't forget Cynthia's Garchomp that got a Crit earthquake on my poor Wolf/tiger/whatever it is. But all in all, I pulled out of this game satisfied, though I could have done better.

I was taking a long nice run around Aspertia, when Sableye hatched! we became aquianted, and after a quick stop at the Pokemon Center, we head of on our journey together! On Route 20, we defeated some Purrloins, and sped our way through to Virbank. On arrival, we trained up in the Complex before sweeping Roxie's Gym, and just as we were about to leave, a scout from Pokestar Studios came along and invited me to become an actor! So I'm about to star in my first film, after seeing a, unique production by Roxie's Dad, and Sableye needs a little rest after all the battling he's done s far.

Ok, so after watching that episode of the Pokemon anime when that Bellsprout nearly sweeps Ash's team, I decided to be a bit random and start a LeafGreen solo with Bellsprout. Of course, I can't evolve it, so I'll just have to hack it in early with an Everstone just so I don't accidently evolve it by not hitting the B button. Meh, worth a shot.

It been a while since I last updated, I haven't been playing much lately but I made some progress today.

After getting the second badge I delivered the letter to Steven then went to Slateport.
Beat some Aqua Grunts and delivered the Devon Goods.
Beat May on my way to Mauville.
Spammed game corner forever to buy Psychic and Ice Beam. (The reason I haven't been playing much.)
Challenged Wattson.
vs http://sprites.pokecheck.org/t/120.gifEdpjl2AyDkc
Got Rock Smash then went and caught a Poochyena on the route south of Mauville, forget which one it is, and taught it Rock Smash.
Helped the couple in the cave and got Strength.
Went around in circles for a bit until I was on Mt. Chimney, or whatever its called, and beat Team Magma.
Finally got to Falabor where I challenged Flannery.

It took me a bit to post cause I'm a little lazy, sorry. I keep a notepad of my adventures on my phone as I go along so it kinda helps. Trons adventure through Crystal has come to an end, it's off to Emerald now.

Dragon Den was pretty uneventful. I've obtained badge 8/8 for this region. Woot! Onwards to the Elite 4.
On my way down to New Bark I went through Dark Cave. Made my way east after getting the Master Ball from Prof. Elm.

The path leading up to Victory Road was easy peasy. Everything went down in one or two hits. I rested up in the house along the way. No fights going through Victory Road as I keep about 50 repels on me at once. I fought Clu at the end of it. All of his guys go down without me taking a single hit.

In preparation for the Elite 4 I stick Milo, Kida, and Musashi in the box, Tron is the only one that comes along this time. I also sell off all of my items that are old and I don't use to stock up on Max Repels, Max Potions, and Full Heals. I also grab one Max Elixir for PP purposes.

First up is Will. Everything goes down in one his besides his Exegutor. It gets off a Psychic before going down. Next!

Koga seems familiar, wasn't he a gym leader at one point? His battle goes much the same as Wills. With his Muk taking two Thunderbolts to turn to a pile of goo. Onwards!

Bruno actually gave me some trouble, mostly to my own stupidity. I forgot that Iron Tail is murder to rocks so it gets a Sandstorm off before I take it down. Once his Machamp comes out I try taking it on with 38 HP. It didn't go so well as I white out. Let's try this again.

Will and Koga go down exactly the same as the first go around. Bruno I take on a little differently this go around. His Onix goes out in one hit, meaning no sandstorm. His Machamp took 3 headbutts before going down, with Bruno using a Max Potion on it once. On a side note though, with as much as Tron Headbutts things I should get the little guy a helmet or something. (I need to draw this now)

Karen presented a small challenge in her Houndoom. She ended up using a Max Potion on it once and it's Flamethrower gave me a burn. Other than that, tally ho!

Out of all of them Lance proves the easiest. Every one of his Pokemon go down in one or two Thunderbolts. I didn't even lose any HP with this fight. Although honestly 3 Dragonites seems a bit overkill and I wasn't expecting the Charizard.

Tron is a level 66 at this point, onto the Kanto Region!

First things first I get the rest of my team back. Time to board the S.S. Aqua. After taking on everyone in the cabins I find the sailors buddy. Upon doing that I take on the rest of the ship and find the little girl bugging the poor Captain. I return her to her father and he gives me an Iron Coat that goes into the PC.

First Gym up is Lt. Surge. It's Good Tron vs. Evil Tron. My wins cause he fights for the user. Other than that this badge was easy. I'm also glad there's no more stupid garbage can puzzle. 1/8 obtained.

Since Snorlax is blocking the path east I head north instead. I remember Saffron being farther, huh. First stop is the Gym. Since I only found a Focus Band here let's try the Gym Gym building. The warp panels this go around aren't nearly as annoying and I finish this gym faster than the last time. 2/8 obtained.

From here I decided to head east. Nothing exciting is going on here sides people talking about the Power Plant, so let's go do that. Rock Tunnel was the bane of my existence last time so I was wary going in. This time however it was only full of items and I pop out the other side unscathed. Heading down to the Power Plant it seems a part was stolen. Fetch quest to Cerulean!

The only person at the gym here was an odd talking Rocket Grunt so I follow him North for the part. Turns out he hid it in the gym, weird. You'd think water wouldn't be good for a mechanical part. Upon exploring north some more I find Misty at the makeout spot. She calls me names and I proceed to fry everything in her gym with Tron. 3/8 badges obtained. Also, machine part I got.

Upon returning the part to the Power Plant I get Zap Cannon. It just sits in my bag as I head west of Saffron to Celadon. Gym number 4 is pretty easy and I don't remember who the gym leader was. 4/8 obtained. Tron is up to a level 75 right now. Two of the PP Ups I have stored in my PC go towards headbutt. After taking the Cycling Road to Fuschia it's Gym number 5.

It only takes me a couple of minutes to find the right girl to fight and it's badge 5/8 obtained. At this point I figure I'll take on the rest of the mainland Kanto trainers that I can find. Upon stumbling my way to Mt. Moon I take on Clu for the last time. His team isn't any harder than the other times I fought him so yeah. Tron is up to level 80. Once I've found my way back to Cerulean I Fly back to Pewter.

Brocks gym is up next. Iron Tail wins it by a landslide and I've got 6/8 obtained badges. I tried taking the long route to Cinnabar from Fuschia but that's blocked. So I head south through Viridian and Pallet to get to Cinnabar. Blue takes off after talking to him and I go take on Blaine in his solitary cave. His team takes two shots each to go down and I get 7/8 badges. So close to finishing this adventure.

After beating all the trainers on my way back to Fuschia I fly to Viridian. I take on Blue in his Lego fortress and it's pretty easy. The only exciting thing to happen is his Rhydon making a Sandstorm, which in turn takes out his Exegutor team mate right before it gets off a sun beam. 8/8 badges obtained for Kanto.

Upon visiting Prof. Oak he tells me I can go to Mt. Silver. I stock up on healing and repels and make my way up. The only thing of note is fighting a single Graveler to kill off my HM Slaves. I save right before Red and decide it's time to end this.

Pikachu and Espeon went down easily enough with his Pikachu using Charm and his Espeon using Reflect. His Snorlax however was a hard wall of blubber to get through. It took quite a few Thunderbolts to go down. Upon defeating it a Venusaur is released and I figure easy peasy and don't heal as I've got half my life left. Wrong move since it's solarbeam criticals and I faint. Reset. Let's try this again.

Pikachu goes down in one critical headbutt to the face. Espeon gets off a reflect before dying. Snorlax is even more annoying this go around as it rests two times before I get a lucky critical Thunderbolt on it. I take more caution with his Venusaur this time and heal after just about every solarbeam. It finally goes down. His Blastoise and Charizard each fall to a single Thunderbolt.

My journey through Crystal is now complete. I was hoping it would've been a bit more of a challenge really. Maybe Emerald will be more so. Onwards!

There is no way to make a starter have an egg move unless you edit the game so that the pokemon in question learns the move at lvl one instead. There are programs for editing your starter, but other than that there's really nothing you can do.

I have beaten Byron. The whole canalave game was pretty much easy with earthquake and close combat. I'll post my gallade's stats later, I just arrived at work.

NecrumWarrior is correct. Also of course you can continue, and I have no problem adding you to the OP, but I'd like to know what games you already completed. If possible give me a link to your completion post for the games you already finished, though this isn't manditory.

Made some more progress with my Jynx. :)

After beating Flannery I went straight to battle Norman.
vs http://sprites.pokecheck.org/t/122.gif
Then I got surf, caught a Marill to use it, then headed to Forretree.
Beat May and some Aqua Grunts on the way.
Got the Devon Scope from Steven then headed to the gym.
vs http://sprites.pokecheck.org/t/123.gif
Did all the Magma/Aqua stuff and headed over to Mossdeep.
Sadly you can't face the gym unless you have 2 Pokemon cause its a double battle...
Saved in front of the gym leaders. I'll challenge them over the weekend or something.

Just get someone to hack the Pokemon into the game. Easy.

March 1st, 2013, 3:54 PM
Thought I'd give a quick update on my progress.

Did the usual beginning stuff and received Tron. Went to route 103 and battled my rival. Obtained the Running Shoes and headed off. In Petalburg I helped Wally get his Ralts. Headed east some more.

Once in Rustboro I learn that the first gym up is Rock type. Smashing. Emerald has also seen it fit to give me a Bold Raichu. Double Smashing!

I decide to bypass this for now and head west to level up Tron some. At level 14 I tried the gym, it's a no go as her level 12 Geodude keeps using Harden and I can't seem to Tail Whip it enough to do a decent amount of damage. So I decide to go level up some more.

While out leveling I catch Jasper the Nincada and teach him Cut. At a level 18 I decide to do the gym again. Still getting my butt kicked by the first level 12 Geodude. So, at this point I'm stuck leveling up Tron until he can beat this gym.

I hate Geodude and Rock types so much now.

Tron the Bold Raichu: I guess I got the challenge I wanted.

Actually it is quite easy. I'd just replace a Pokemon you can't normally get in the game. It's easy. I just sent Kagami a VM to ask if they want me to do it.

Time for the first update! What's annoying about Black 2 is that you can't trade before the 1st gym, and since I can't cheat, I had to wait until after the first gym to get Deino.

- Started game. Name: Lite. Rival's name: Darke.

- Chose Oshawott as starter. God pwned by Darke in the first battle.

- Trained Oshawott to LVL 13 and took on Cheren. Won the fight. Got first Gym Badge.

- Was finally able to trade in the Deino. Nickname: Hydra.

- Am currently grinding Hydra with Audino fights.

Species: Deino
Level: 5
Gender: Female

I finally did it! No more sweeping everything I encounter!

I skipped most of the trainers between Sunnyshore City and the Pokemon League, because I was tired of sweeping everything and wanted my battle with the E4 to be more challenging. Barry proved mildly difficult primarily due to his Staraptor having Intimidate. But I managed to beat him on the second try. He was actually more challenging than most of the E4 to be honest.

So, the E4 were pretty easy. Notably, Lucius was the hardest, since I had no moves for Psychic Pokemon. I swept Flint with Earthquake and Bertha with Leaf Blade. As for the Bugsy wannabe, I was able to sweep everything but Vespiqueen for some reason. I even got a Critical hit on Scizor!

Cynthia was the real challenge. I had many close calls. But I got really lucky with Garchomp, who I managed to score a Critical on (Thank you Razor Claw and Psycho Cut). This dropped him to the red, but luckily he had a berry, or I would have had to deal with a Full Restored Garchomp. On top of that, he missed his Dragon Rush, which surely would have killed me as I was below half health by this point. After that the rest was easy.

I'm gonna take a break from this challenge for a while, since I got very bored towards the end. As I said earlier, if I do another, it will be with something like Tentacruel who has really low attacking power.

Time for an update. A lot's happened over the past day.

- After grinding Hydra up to level 18, made my way to Roxie and challenged her. I actually 1HKO'd all her pokes with Dragon Rage.

- After some more grinding, beat up Team Plasma and made my way to Castelia City. This is where things start to get harder.

- Hydra gets up to Level 25 or so, and I challenge Burgh after the Team Plasma scenario.

- Beat Burgh by the skin of my teeth, literally only having three HP left after the last of his pokes.

- Hydra makes her way up to Level 30-something as I make my way to Nimbasa City and train some more.

- Beat Elesa relatively easy. Surprisingly 1HKO'd her Zebstrika with Crunch.

- Caught two extra Pokemon to get past Charles the Heartbreaker, but only actually used Hydra in the rotation battle. Proceeded to deposit those Pokes in the PC pretty much forever.

- Got to Driftveil city. Trained up a little more against trainers to get to Level 40 or so, and proceeded to challenge Clay.

- This is where I hit a roadblock. After making it through his gym easily, proceeded to challenge him.

- The thing about Clay is his Excadrill. His first two Pokemon were easy and were both 1HKO'd or 2HKO'd with Dragon Pulse/Crunch, but then comes the Excadrill. This thing can 1HKO Hydra provided its Slash/Metal Claw attack is a critical hit, which it often is, and it can 2HKO her with Slash/Metal Claw/Bulldoze.

- So basically, it's back to square one. I'm currently training on Audinos to become stronger and get past Clay, possibly evolving Hydra in the process. Fingers crossed.

After leveling Tron up to level 20 I decided to try her gym again. I stock up on Potions and Super Potions (5 of each) and cave in and buy an 1 X Defense and 1 X Attack.

Starting off the battle I use both of the X items. After 3 Tail Whips and 4 Quick Attacks each both of her Geodude fall. Oddly enough neither of them used Defense Curl, go figure. Her Nosepass was a pain in the rear end. Just about every time I'd Tail Whip, it'd use Harden, seriously. After it getting healed by a Potion and an Oran Berry I managed to beat it. So yeah, my first badge has finally been obtained. 1/8.

I hate that gym and I'm not coming back til Tron knows at least Brick Break or something.

After all that excitement I go get Peeko and the Devon Goods back. Recieved the Letter and said Goods to go deliver, as well as the PokeNav and the Match Call. On my way out of town I took on Brendan. He falls rather easily. On a side note he has Torchic this go around, so type advantage for me.

In Dewford I take on Brawly's gym first. Nothing interesting happens and I get my second badge. 2/8. After I get Flash from the random hiker I teach it to Jasper and stumble my way through Dark Cave. Once the letter is delivered I stumble my way back out. On to Slateport.

In Slateport I take on everyone at the beach and nab the free Soda Pop (it might as well been free, it was so easy). Tron is now up to a level 25 at this point. After defeating two Team Aqua grunts the Goods are delivered. Also registered the resident stalker, Scott, into the Pokenav. Hooray I guess.

In a wasted trip back to Rustburo I pick up the Exp. Share and Repeat Ball. Heading north from Slateport I register Prof. Birch before entering the Trick House. The Rare Candy I get gets fed right to Tron after I get it. Up to level 29. After battling and looting to the west, I head east to battle Brendan again. Once beaten I get an item I probably won't use.

Most of the way to Mauville is spent being paralyzed cause I'm stingy and don't want to use any of my berrys. In an odd move I haven't bought anything since Rustburo so I've got no status healing things I want to use. Upon entering Mauville I get the bike and forget that I'm paralyzed. So I go fight Wally. His Ralts falls to a single Thunderbolt. The resident stalker also seemed to have watched the match.

Next time I update maybe I'll have gotten farther.

>.< I got asked this question earlier today too and I said I'd find a workaround, but I couldn't find any >.< guess I'll have to go for a different pokemon >.< if that's ok >.<

Since I never got an answer to this, I'll take it as a yes.

Not too much happened today, since I have a lot of homework and I've hit another roadblock.

- After a bit of training, Hydra learned Dragon Rush, so I decided to head back to the gym and try for the millionth time.

- With an incredible combination of Moomoo Milks, a critical hit, and a Dragon Rush, Hydra was able to 1HKO Excadrill!

- Collected my fifth Gym Badge and made my way to the Pokemon World Tournament.

- Easily swept through Darke and Cheren, but came to another roadblock with Colress. This guy uses only Steel types, and all my moves are ineffective against his Pokes.

- Colress wiped the floor with me thrice before I finally decided I needed some more training.

- Now that I have the fifth gym badge, gonna try and evolve Hydra before returning to the tournament to kick Colress's ass.

After traveling through Victory Road I attempted the Pokemon League a couple times before I actually won. It was Phoebe who kept giving me all the problems but after some grinding I was able to beat the league! :)

I don't want to be rude, because your the Challenge runner but in Emerald didn't the rules say you had to beat Steven In Meteor Falls, before you moved on

I usually do beat Steven but for some reason when ever I beat the champion in Pokemon emerald it doesn't save after entering me in the Hall of Fame, and when I start the game back up it either doesn't give me the option to continue or I have to start back where I last saved.

This goes for everyone soloing on Pokemon Emerald, Steven is optional. The challenge ends when you defeat Wallace. I could've sworn I took that off a long time ago... Well I guess I didn't so I'll go do that now.

Sorry for the misunderstanding and thank you for pointing out my mistake so I can correct it. :)

Here's a solution to your little problem, James^^

If you're using Visual Boy Advanced, just set your Save Type to Automatic Flash 128k. That should allow in-game saving and for you to be able to start back in your room after E4 so you can do the post-E4 content. And it kinda prevents random save losses. And for the "Internal battery has run dry"error, just set your emulator to use real clock so you can still enjoy time-based events such as day/night evolutions.

Sadly I lost my save but thank you, now I know for next time. :)
