View Full Version : Green, Gold, and Booze☆ - St. Patrick's Challenge Event!

February 28th, 2011, 6:22 PM
Certainly you didn't think I'd forget we need an event, right?

Good day, lads! And Fish to the Challenge forum's first event!

Let's cut to the rules...

→Green Pokemon are the only ones allowed!
Yes. You have to build teams around Green colored Pokemon only. It's like a mono-color challenge...but without the freedom of choice! Here (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_by_color#Green) is a list of green Pokemon. Please stick to this list, even if a Pokemon has green on it, like Gardevoir or Virizion, we're going with what the Pokedex says. Sucks I know, but Spheal with it!

→Only certain Blankets are allowed!
Being a Popcorn challenge and all, only certain Blankets will be permitted for this challenge. You may only play this challenge on a copy of Green, Gold, Emerald, LeafGreen, HeartGold, or White. I only recommend Green or LeafGreen if you're feeling daring!

→The "Luck of the Irish" clause!
If, on the off chance, you find a shiny Pokemon that is colored green (Zubat, for example, is normally blue, but the shiny is green) then you are allowed to use it! If you're unsure as to which shinies would count as green, please don't hesitate to contact me, preferably by VM. Also, remember that I'm not the Pokedex. I'm much more lenient with what I'm going to consider as "green" so don't be afraid to ask! :)

→Emulators and trading are allowed!
Emulate the Blanket if you need to! And trade all you want!

→Duplicates are allowed!
If you're playing a Blanket with a limited number of green Pokemon, feel free to catch more of the same Pokemon. Strongly recommended for anyone trying this on Green or LeafGreen Version.

→You must have at least three team members!
We can't have everyone doing a solo challenge with their green starter. Team work, bb!

→Did I mention the deadline?
Yes, there is a deadline, since obviously the event has to end at some point. Normally the event would end on St. Patrick's Day, however with the release of Pokemon Stunfisk and White this month, I figure people will be very busy. So instead, the event will end on April 1st (12 AM central time). If you do happen to finish before or on March 17th, then kudos to you!

→When does the challenge end?
No matter what version you are using, the challenge will end after you defeat the Pokemon League.

→Regarding hacking and legendaries...
Hacking for a green Pokemon (like Scyther in Green or Politoed in Gold for people that can't trade) is fine, but hacking for a shiny Pokemon that is green is not. Ruins the "luck of the Irish" Popcorn. Legendaries...never said anything against them. -whistle whistle-

→Have fun!
This event is meant for fun, of course. That's what challenges are!

If anyone has any questions, please contact me via VM or PM!

Syd is my hero.

Sign me up for Gold. Team is looking like: Meganium, Xatu, Scyther, and Politoed (only if I can get a Poliwhirl and King's Rock and then just hack in a Politoed instead. If not, then its just the first three)

February 28th, 2011, 7:27 PM

February 28th, 2011, 7:34 PM

February 28th, 2011, 8:51 PM
Hmm. I will be more than happy to do this challenge in Green version once I learn how to trade a Scyther in... Is hacking okay to get a Pokemon? I promise I'll be good and hack only to get Scyther and nothing else :P

EDIT: I now have my trio! Scyther, Venusaur, and Victreebel/Weepinbel!

February 28th, 2011, 9:10 PM
Gardevoir isn't green. Please check the list provided in the rules.

I edited my previous post.

February 28th, 2011, 9:19 PM
Yes, you can hack for something as long as it's green. :) And sorry about that TheFuturePokemon. Just trying to go with how the Pokedex lists it. I'll add you to the list now though.

February 28th, 2011, 9:34 PM
Alrighty then, the game is all set! I've changed it so that the Farfetch'd/Spearow trade in Vermillion is now a Scyther/Spearow trade :) Thanks Swampert!
So that makes my team of three... Venusaur, Victreebel, and Scyther. Expect the first update tommorow, with some pretty pictures and good ol' Engrish transration ^_^

February 28th, 2011, 9:37 PM
I'll go with Leaf Green. (How daring am I?)
I'll use Venusaur, Victreebel and Weepinbell.

February 28th, 2011, 10:07 PM
Would there be any way for me to turn this event into an Ultimate Challenge? :D I'd gladly take the Ultimate version of this.

It'd only be semi-ultimate, because of the lack of a fourth gen. availability for this, but I'd still do it.

My teams would end up being:
Leaf Green - Venusaur, Victreebel, Scyther
Gold - Meganium, Xatu, Tyranitar
Emerald - Sceptile, Ludicolo, Flygon, Cradily
White - Serperior, Yanakkie, Reuniclus, Doredia

February 28th, 2011, 10:14 PM
Well, that's gutsy! Even with BW's release this month? Go for it then. :) I'll make another spoiler for ultimates, if anyone else wants to give it a shot.

February 28th, 2011, 10:30 PM
I'll get right to work on my challenges then. I'll be finishing a part of a different ultimate tomorrow, so that'll be a great time to start on LG. :D

February 28th, 2011, 10:59 PM
Heck, I'll try my best to take this challenge :3 I'll do my best in White~

March 1st, 2011, 12:31 AM
I'll pause my other challenges and do this in gold with Meganium, Xatu an Politoad

March 1st, 2011, 1:44 AM
Ima do this Syd :3 Gold, with Meganium, Xatu. Scyther, Politoed, hacking everyone in except Chikroita. I'll be done with this by today :3

Watch out Vappy isn't putting his challenge in spoilers!
Vaporeon7's St. Patrick's Day Challenge-Leaf Green!
Chapter 1: A little bit of Chaos!

I started of my challenge by selecting the New Game button. After telling the professor that I'm a boy and calling myself Patrick (after the challenge) I was ready to begin my Pokemon journey.
I began by walking out my room and the house and then heading north. I was making good time until I was stopped by Oak. He dragged me to his dungeon lab and and saw my future rival. Oak offered me a Pokemon so I chose the green one and called it Chaos. My rival chose the red one. We battled. He lost. I left for Viridian City. On the way a nice man gave me a Potion. I then reached Viridian City. I headed for the PokeMart to buy Pokeballs but then I was forced to go give Oak his parcel. I went quickly back to Pallet Town and gave Oak his parcel. It was 2 Pokedexes. He gave me and my rival one.
I then went back to Viridian and then I went west. My rival then battled me again. I won of course and then headed for Viridian Forest. After being told how to catch Pokemon by an old man I managed to find my way through the forest. While I was in there Chaos evolved into Ivysaur.
I then made it to Pewter City and went to the gym. I defeat the gym trainer easily and then I challenged Brock.
With one Vine Whip I was able to defeat Brock's Geodude and also his Onix. For beating him he gave me a Boulder Badge.
This concludes this chapter of my St. Patrick's Day Challenge.
The 'Green' Team:
Chaos (Ivysaur) Lv17.
Moves: Tackle, Sleep Powder, Leech Seed, Vine Whip.
Badges Obtained:

Playing leafgreen, planned team: Venusaur, Victreebel and Weepinbell. Btw, do I need to post proof of me playing it by making constant updates, or can I just keep on playing and upload the rival fight at the end of the league?

March 1st, 2011, 11:18 AM
Does anyone know how i get my Poliwhirl to evolve to Politoad on an emulator? I cant find any 2. gen pokemon editor/evolution editor

Use TGB Dual to trade Poliwhirl with a King's Rock. You can get one in Slowpoke Well (need Strength and Surf).

March 1st, 2011, 11:31 AM
You don't have to post pics or a video, and you don't have to update often. Just update when you have the time.

And the event is officially over on March 31st. I know people will be bust playing BW, so that's why it ends them instead of on St. Patrick's Day, like it normally would have.

Um I beat the first gym last night, and can't be bothered to grab sprites and such. :(

March 1st, 2011, 11:51 AM

Well, I started the game... Boy it is something. I've gotten through a good amount of green before but I laugh every time xD

Chapter 1: The Effect Looks No So Good!

All in the title, baby. Not much interesting (gameplay-wise) went on in my first bit of playing. Here's a quick run down...

I battled and defeated my rival. And I hit home really good a lot!

I made a poor Kelar fall down :(

I evoluted Incon into Fushi!

I was on the lookout for local scenery.

I massacred a stone. (really the most accurate name in this translation. Really. Pikachu = Bicac??)

And I won Brock! All in all a very good run, I think.

Update 1

There might be pictures 'n stuff later, but for now, just regular text.
So, LeafGreen. It's not fun and delightful with only Green, and the cake is definitely a lie.

Grab the Bulbasaur up in Oak's house, name it "Ohaithar" because it's funny and stuff. :P
Almost get killed by Rival, get a lucky crit. Never remember to pick up that darn potion.
Make my way up, standard stuff, through Viridian Forest, get all up in Brock's face with my vine-whiptastic Ohaithar and win. Ohaithar ---> Ivysaur.
Make my slow way through Mt. Moon, beat everything and everyone. Beat Rival's 'Mander with a lucky Razor Leaf, Sleep Powder'd Pidgeotto and whittled it down, etc.
Beat Nugget Bridge, go right for Cerulean, and lose to Misty's Starmie.

I had forgotten to heal at Cerulean.

I had to make my way back through Mt. Moon. Lame.

Anyway, grabbed a Bellsprout that I haven't really been using yet. Made my way down to Vermillion where I left off before the S.S. Anne.

Ohaithar (Ivysaur Lvl. 30)
-Tackle (Yes. Tackle. Shush.)
-Razor Leaf
-Sleep Powder
-Leech Seed

Bellsprout (Bellsprout Lvl. 15)
-Vine Whip
-Sleep Powder

(This is slowly becoming a solo-Venusaur run, because I don't get Scyther until Safari Zone, have no interest in levelling up 'sprout, and don't get Xatu until Sevii.)

March 1st, 2011, 9:13 PM
(This is slowly becoming a solo-Venusaur run, because I don't get Scyther until Safari Zone, have no interest in levelling up 'sprout, and don't get Xatu until Sevii.)

You should go ahead and Hack those in now as Scyther isn't available in Leaf Green and you can't get to Natu until you beat the League and by then well......the Challenge is already over.

March 1st, 2011, 10:31 PM
Alrighty, I am beginning my Ultimate. :D

So, Leaf Green will be first, with the team being Venusaur, Scyther, and Victreebel.

- Started the game. Named my rival Gary, and I picked a Bulbasaur.
- Delivered Oak's Parcel. Got the Pokedex and some Pokeballs, so I went out and caught myself a Scyther from the wild.

Current Team:

Scyther Lv. 3
Quick Attack, Leer

Bulbasaur Lv. 6
Tackle, Growl

Yeah, didn't get much accomplished today, but hey, that means I can catch up tomorrow. :D

March 1st, 2011, 11:47 PM
Meh I'm bored ~ :3 Gonna do this again with Emerald, and prolly end up an Ultimate Run

So I'll begin Emerald tonight >:3

March 2nd, 2011, 2:09 AM
Vaporeon7's St. Patrick's Day Challenge-Leaf Green!
Chapter 2: The Grass Type is always Greener!

After healing at the Pokemon Centre I headed east. After beating all the trainers and getting some shoes I reached Mt. Moon. During travelling through Mt. Moon a saw a Zubat or two or fifty. I also defeated many trainers including some Team Rocket Grunts who were looking for fossils.
I then fought for a fossil and won. I then continued onto Cerulean City. I head Chaos and then headed north. I beat my rival, Shigeru and then continued through the trainers on the Nugget Bridge.
After turning down an offer to join Team Rocket I went and caught a Bellsprout and I nicknamed it Sydian. I then caught another one and I nicknamed it Ayselipera. I then started to battle the trainers to train my two new Pokemon. I taught Sydian Attract for obvious reasons.
I then reached a house on the cape. I walked inside and found a Clefairy. It started talking to me!
The Clefairy then told me to press a button on his computer. The Clefairy went in a machine and I pressed the button. A man came out! He announced himself as Bill and gave me a ticket for the S.S. Anne. I then returned to Cerulean City and went in the gym. I beat the gym trainers and then Challenged Misty.
Sydian was able to defeat her Staryu easily with Vine Whip. Her Starmie would have also been defeated by Sydian but she used a Super Potion. Ayselipera was able to finish of Starmie though. Misty awarded me the Cascade Badge and I then left to train Sydian a bit. Later Sydian evolved into Weepinbell.
This concludes this chapter of my St. Patrick's Day Challenge.
The 'Green' Team:
Chaos (Ivysaur) Lv26.
Moves: Tackle, Sleep Powder, Leech Seed, Razor Leaf.
Sydian (Weepinbell) Lv21.
Moves: Vine Whip, Attract, Sleep Powder, Thief.
Ayselipera (Bellsprout) Lv19.
Moves: Vine Whip, Stun Spore, Secret Power, Sleep Powder.

you kinda forgot to add me, update coming later.

March 2nd, 2011, 10:15 AM
I'm going to do Green, Gold, and Emerald :)

Question though, am I supposed to use Metapod? Because there's no Scyther iirc.

March 2nd, 2011, 10:24 AM
Sorry about that, 11wildy. I'll add you in. lol And you can use Metapod if you really wanna, but most people are just using two of the same Pokemon (or Victreebel and Weepinbell). Or, if you're doing this on a ROM, you could hack in a Scyther. But yeah, I'll go ahead and add you.

Beat Brawly last night. Almost skipped him for a while cause he was horrible. But I just went up to Slateport, grabbed Electrike, trained and went to Mauville then came back to Dewford to lay the smack on him. I should grind more and quit trying to rush. lol

March 2nd, 2011, 11:04 AM
SYD. I'M GOING TO TAKE PART. I decided, I wanted to try a challenge, and I'm Irish, and I love Emerald. So I'll be doing this one. I'm gonna run through this on Emerald.

But may I ask if it matters how quickly you obtain the 3 green pokémon? As I could trade if they need to be in near the beginning, or I might have to obtain a few badges before I get enough greeeeen!

March 2nd, 2011, 11:08 AM
Gonna start later on tonight on Emerald (You all ready know this)

Sceptile, Ludiculo(Idk how to spell it u_u), Cacturne and something else super sexy and green will be on muh teamz.

March 2nd, 2011, 11:08 AM
As long as you end with a team of Green, idc when you get them. Yay, for once I'm not the only mod participating in a challenge! You owed me this since I made a gallery anyway.

March 2nd, 2011, 12:11 PM
Ok, i wont bother you with an normal update: Ive gone from Goldenrod first visit to the blackthorn gym, and im trying to finish today.

Edit: finished Gold. this was the first time ive beat the league in any region in the first run, and i even didn't use slaves, grinding beforehand or in battle revives (The revives i used wouldn't have been needed too i see afterwards, it was only my LVP'ing Grn Bird)
Will probably start Leaf Green tomorrow, and do an ultimate

Grn Flower lv 45
Razor Leaf
Body Slam
Poison Powder
- I have rarely seen pokemon with so bad movepolls, but it was decent, and more usefull than Grn Bird

Grn Frog lv 48 All posible MVP statuses
Ice Punch
Body Slam
- This was a monster compared to the other two. He soloed a whole part of the game to catch up to Grn Flower, without trouble. And Ice Punch was sooo handy later on.

Grn Bird lv 46 Elite four LVP
Future Sight
Night Shade
- Omg, this was bad! It never got any Psychic moves (Future sight isn't effected by types), and needed Fly to do good damage.

By the way, what are the rules about ultimates? like:
- Do you have to beat White to complete an ultimate?
- Is 4. gen not needed, since there is no game from there on the list of games?
- Is there a special Emblem for completing an ultimate? (Or just a little mark on the emblem?)

Saint Patrick's Challenge - Update #1

Yo. My name is Ireland. And I really like Ireland, because it's so...Irish? Anyway, my name is Ireland. My dream is to become first Pokemon champion from Ireland...most of them are from Japan, -.-'

http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/7496/screen1z.png (http://img851.imageshack.us/i/screen1z.png/)

Irish Rule #1 - Irish people decide what day is today, not day decides what Irish people are today. Remmember that!
Anyway, I've decided to visit local freak, profesor Elm. He'll give me one Pokemon (he gives it to me every game). I'm really a patriotic guy from Ireland, my mom is from Ireland, my PC is from Ireland, even my name is Ireland. Saint Patrick is very important for Ireland. Ireland :D I've picked this one green Pokemon, Chikorita?...:( I think Eamon de Valera (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Éamon_de_Valera) will be more...irish?

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/7789/screen2uy.png (http://img291.imageshack.us/i/screen2uy.png/)

I got my Eamon, time to start my fantastic adventure! Yeah! First person who I met was a guy (guy? Hmmm...I'm not really sure). He(She?) wanted to kick my butt anyway...he(she?) is from England...I'm sure h...it is from England.

Irish Rule #2 - if someone wants to kick your butt, and you are from Ireland, this guy is from England for sure.
Remmember that!

http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/4974/screen3ww.png (http://img263.imageshack.us/i/screen3ww.png/)

I've launched first epic training plan for Eamon. We wanted to reach level 12 and then visit Mr.Pokemon's place. With Razor Leaf since lv.8, Eamon easy managed to finish the training - he'll be my only pokemon for long time, so we need to train often - until I catch another green pokemon.

http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/1341/screen4hp.png (http://img219.imageshack.us/i/screen4hp.png/)

I've met Mr.Pokemon and his friend...I can't remmember name...Leaf?...Wood?...Oekaki?...nevermind. But this sounds kinda english...boooo...anyway, Mr.Pokemon told me about egg, to be honest - I'll not care about it if it's not green egg. When I was coming back to New Bark, I've met this guy once again! This red hair something! He had a blue pokemon...isn't he from Scotland?

http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/2863/screen5r.png (http://img42.imageshack.us/i/screen5r.png/)

Finally not - when I've beat him, he said "I'm England" - I knew it! He is moron anyway. Policeman in New Bark asked me about his named - "Yeah, he is England for sure!" - I said - "He looks like England, talks like England, smells like England, lose like England...he is!". I knew it from beginning, yeah. Ireland 1:0 England.

http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/6730/screen6p.png (http://img263.imageshack.us/i/screen6p.png/)

Mr.Elm told me to say goodbye to my mom.

Irish Rule #3 - only guy from England will say goodbye to his mom. Guy from Ireland will win the Pokemon League first, then say goodbye, then will win it again, then say hello.
Remmember that!

And at the end, Eamon de Valera:

http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/9751/screen7v.png (http://img219.imageshack.us/i/screen7v.png/)

The End ;)

March 2nd, 2011, 1:28 PM
Okay, I started my game on Gold.

Name: Irish
Rival: English
Starter: Chikorita

Soloed the first two gyms with Bayleef (who evolved before I faced Falkner, lol), then caught Scyther in the Bug Catching Contest (Won it, too).
Beat Whitney and Morty (Pursuit!) pretty easily, then got a Miltank HM slave to teach Surf.
Caught a L22 Poliwhirl in Ecruteak City (underleveled lol), then went to Olivine CIty.
Taught Poilwhirl Surf and Ice Punch, then beat the Lighthouse and Surfed to Cianwood.
Beat Chuck easily with Scyther's Wing Attack, then taught Fly to the free Spearow (Kenya).
Flew to Azalea Town and got the King's Rock in Slowpoke Well.
Beat Jasmine easily with Poliwhirl's Surf.
Headed to Mahagony Town, and when Poliwhirl reached L35, he learned Body Slam, then I used TGB Dual to trade evolve him into Politoed.
Beat Gyarados at the Lake of Rage and talked to Lance.
Saved in the Rocket Hideout.

http://img546.imageshack.us/img546/5413/patpolitoed.pngTraded him to a Silver game so the sprite is different, lol.
Next up is Pryce and the Radio Tower.

Team Irish:
Meganium, ♂ - L34 @ Miracle Seed
Moves: Razor Leaf, Cut, Body Slam, Synthesis
Scyther, ♂ - L34
Moves: Wing Attack, Headbutt, Pursuit, Fury Cutter
Politoed, ♂ - L35 @ Mystic Water

Just trying to pull the squad together right now, I have a vague idea of my team, but we'll see! It's ambitious, since it includes shiny hunting, and until I find that Tailow, I can't move on! A little level grinding for Crayon & Lotad will also be in the mix when doing so however. But so far, it's been an eventful few hours, with only a little false luck :<

This is what I called myself, so original!

Alright, this is the squad so far.

March 2nd, 2011, 1:47 PM
Sign me up, Syd? I'll go with Emerald, proposed team being Sceptile, Breloom, Flygon, and Cacturne.

March 2nd, 2011, 2:04 PM
By the way, what are the rules about ultimates? like:
- Do you have to beat White to complete an ultimate?
- Is 4. gen not needed, since there is no game from there on the list of games?
- Is there a special Emblem for completing an ultimate? (Or just a little mark on the emblem?)

1. Since White isn't even out for everyone yet, an ultimate, right now, consists of doing a game that was in each region, so that'd be Green/LeafGreen, Gold, Emerald, and then HeartGold (this will count as gen IV since DPPt aren't involved in this challenge). If you have White or a White ROM, then I recommend adding that in.

2. HeartGold counts as gen IV.

3. We're all getting the same emblem as it stands.

Congrats on the shiny, Gavin! And I'll add you in, TSO. :)

March 2nd, 2011, 2:21 PM
Would it be alright if I changed my team a bit? I would like to add the Tyranitar line to my final team.

March 2nd, 2011, 2:26 PM
It's fine to change your teams. You really didn't have to post them tbh, but yeah. I don't care what you use, as long as you end up with a team full of green. :)

March 2nd, 2011, 2:37 PM
-Got Starter Bulbasaur (Bulba)
-Beat Brock
-Bulba evolved into Ivysaur
-Caught Vikki the Bellsprout
-Beat Misty
-Vikki evolved into Weepinbell
-Beat LT. Surge
-Hacked in Scyther (forgot to nickname so currently it's SCORE)
-Got to Lavender Town (remember this)
-Changed Bulba to Venus and SCORE to Knife
-Evolved Vikki with a Leaf Stone
-Beat Erika
-Battled a few Rockets in the Game Corner
-Rom crashed, so now I'm back at Lavender -_-

March 2nd, 2011, 3:39 PM
I have to figure out how do I shot web hack 'mons into LeafGreen. Until then, I take a respite.

March 2nd, 2011, 4:04 PM
There's a built in Action Replay on VBA (if that's what you're using) and you can Google cheats codes that will let you hack in Pokemon.

March 2nd, 2011, 4:14 PM
Count me in. Gonna use Emerald.

My team will be:

March 2nd, 2011, 4:22 PM
I haven't done a challenge in a long time, so I'm gonna do this

I'll probably do this as an Ultimate, but I will decide after I complete LeafGreen.

EDIT:Actually, I'll be using Green, not LeafGreen

Gender: Female

> Finally got out of the back of a truck.
> Actually set my clock to the correct time.
> Free potion yay.
> Met Brendan.
> Had to go save Birch's wussy butt.
> Picked Treeko.
> WHOA it's a female! I've never had a female starter before!
> Named her Shauna.
> Training...
> Free potion yay.
> Had Shauna get up to lv. 8 before taking out Brendan, just on general principle.
> Hooray running shoes. But what's a B button, mom?
> An hour in and I am heading to Petalburg. I need to not be do distracted.
> Caught a lv. 4 male Lotad and named him Murtagh.
> Decided I disliked trying to train Lotads and decided to hunt for a shiny Wingull.

Man I am extremely slow at this. Bets on whether or not I can finish before the 17th are now open.

Alrighty, so this means I'll be using Torterra, Yanmega, and Roserade for HG.

New Update:
(I should be finished with LeafGreen by tomorrow.)

- Trained a little. Defeated Gary by the Pokemon League.
- I head through the Viridian Forest, and head into Pewter.

-I defeat Brock quite easily with Bulbasaur's Vine Whip. It OHKO's his entire team.
- Finally, I get the Running Shoes.
- I head through Mt. Moon, and get to the other side. Soon, Bulbasaur evolves.

- I go and battle Gary, and he is defeated. Then, I head into Cerulean Gym before I head north.

- The trainers in the gym and just wrecked by Ivysaur, including Misty.
- I soon head north, defeating everyone on the way to Bill's house. I change him back into a human, and get the SS Ticket.
- Now on Route 5, I capture a Bellsprout. I train it up on the way to Vermillion, and in Diglett's Cave. Soon, Bellsprout evolves.

- My team gains even more levels while defeating trainers on the SS Anne. I beat Gary, and get Cut from the Captain. The ship sails off once I depart.
- I now decide to head into the Vermillion Gym. Since there was only probably one Magnemite in the whole gym, it was pretty easy.

- I am sure to pick up Flash before I leave for Rock Tunnel. After entering the cave, I come out quickly, knowing the way. I head from Lavender Town to Celadon, where I fight Erika. Scyther would be able to OHKO everything here with Wing Attack.

(I forgot to take a screenshot here, hehe...)

- Anyway, I saved inside the Rocket Game Corner, where I prepare to battle the organization.

Current Team:

Scyther Lv. 33
Slash, Wing Attack, Focus Energy, Pursuit

Weepinbell Lv. 28
Vine Whip, Growth, Acid, Stun Spore

Not an official update, but after many hours, and a little luck, I managed to do this...

Syd was there to see me spaz out, so I named it after her. I will be pushing onto Rustboro and give you guys an official update in a little while!

March 3rd, 2011, 10:38 AM
Sorry for the lack of updates - My Wifi's gone all screwy, so my poor laptop is having a heck of a time doing anything. SO. Started with Treecko. Caught Lotad & Shroomish early on. Lotad blew through Roxanne EASILY, not even needing help. Brawly was a little tougher, but by then Shroomish had Leech Seed & Stun Spore. Combining the two, I squeaked out a victory. I did some grinding before battling Wattson, evolving Lotad & Shroomish. He took out Lombre, but Breloom's Mach Punch saved the day! I'm now hot on the trail of Teams Magma & Aqua. :) Team: Ko the Grovyle, Lv. 27 Ro the Breloom Lv. 26 Lo the Lombre Lv. 27 Go the Zigzagoon Lv. 5

Okay let me be the first to say that I can't be bothered doing big posts this time. I will do a big one for my last though.
What I did:

Beat the Rocket grunt in Cerulean City
Evolved Alyselipera into Weepinbell.
Got to Vermillion City.
Got the Bike Voucher from the head of the Fan Club.
Went on the SS. Anne.
Beat my rival.
Got HM01 from the captin.
Went to the gym and beat Lt. Surge.

Update 2

-Finished the Devon Goods thing. Pwned the Team Aqua Grunts.
-Battled the trainers North of Slateport.
-Trained Pokemon to about lvl 21 and continued heading North for Mauville.
-Battled Bredan, struggled a bit against his Combusken, but eventually won using Dustox and Confusion.
-Trained on the way to Mauville, getting team to about lvl 23-24.
-Explored the town near Mauville, talked to Wally's parents, did all those side things and then battled the trainers on either side of Mauville.
-Got Pokemon to lvl 25-26.
-Took on Wattson, losing miserably the first three times. Won him out of sheer luck after stocking up on Super Potions and Paralyze Heals.
-Shouted in joy at the win.
-Continued North.
-Trained team to lvl 28.

Dustox - Lvl 28

Lombre - Lvl 28
Rock Smash
Fury Swipes

Grovyle - Lvl 28
Bullet Seed
Rock Tomb

Wattson was definitely challenging with my team. All his Pokemon were fairly easy, except Magneton.

March 3rd, 2011, 8:27 PM
I'll sign up on Gold. :3
My planned team is Meganium, Politoed, Tyranitar, and Xatu, but it's subject to change.

March 3rd, 2011, 10:09 PM
Just started a few minutes ago.

I'll be using LeafGreen.

The name I'll be playing as is "Dewgong" and the rival is named "Crimgan". I picked a Bulbasaur as a starter - and it was a female on first try, too! I named that Bulbasaur "Dove". I left Pallet Town just then, let's see what awaits me. :D

/plans to grind and then grab two Caterpie's soon

March 4th, 2011, 9:06 AM
Ugh, this is why I hate updating, cause Bulbapedia takes too damn long to load with my connection. :( Sorry, no colorful sprites this time, it just doesn't wanna load for me. fffff

Arcko / Sceptile (m) lv. 37
Leaf Blade, Quick Attack, Pursuit, Screech

Miror B. / Lombre (m) lv. 35
Absorb, Nature Power, Astonish, Fake Out

8.07 PM / Electrike (f) lv. 33
Bite, Spark, Return, Thunder Wave

Larry / Trapinch (m) lv. 32
Sand Tomb, Faint Attack, Secret Power, Rock Tomb

Currently training in the desert, I will have Larry evolve before Norman. I will. Cause that gym...is a pain. Thank goodness the sea routes will be good training for 8.07 PM since she can't do much in the desert. AND WATER STONE SOON OMG.

Also going to enter this on Gold. Will be emulating it though, and hacking in a Larvitar, and later a Politoed. I have no patience to get a new emulator and trade with them and do all that. v_v

March 4th, 2011, 12:02 PM
@Syd: Your Lombre's name makes me wish I had my old Collesseum...

Ran into a slight problem with trading Scyther over- it didn't work. Got an error message, and I have no idea where to find wild pokemon data in the ROM, so it looks like I will be continuing with dos Weepinbells/Victreebels...

Chapter 2: The Saga Continues

We begin this update with this:

Now that I have you attention, let's continue... But seriously, who designed the Ekans sprite? It looks like They photoshopped Psyduck's head onto Ekans' body... When I got to Mt. Moon, I soon discovered a slight problem with the translation.

http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr343/Dartfled/Fossil1.png http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr343/Dartfled/Fossil2.png

Don't remember which one I picked... But after that, Fuji learned the most bestest attack ever.

Attacks of the lawn mowers! My first Bellsprout also evolved while I was grinding endlessly.

Oh and in case you missed my username... (Btw the ROM crashed almost right after this)

I got a wicked looking Venusaur too :P

And ended off with destroying Surge. Those electric locks are made so much easier with savestates :)

The Team

http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr343/Dartfled/Status2e.png http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr343/Dartfled/Status2f.png

I will give a cookie to whomever knows which attacks are what :P Flying Bird is a toughie...

I think that will be all then! I think I'll post next update after I get two/three more badges.

Also: Anyone have any good moveset ideas for mah Weeps? I don't want them to have all the same moves, but I'm starting to love gen I Wrap :)

March 4th, 2011, 1:13 PM
-Got back to where the game froze last time
-Beat Giavoanni or however the hell his name is spelt
-Beat Rival in Pokemon Tower
-Rescued Fuji

Update #1 - Gold

Named myself Gold.
Got my Chikorita, named him Dippy.
Got my Map Card from the old man in Cherrygrove.
Went to Mr. Pokemon's house and got my Pokedex from Prof. Oak.
Battled my rival on the way back to New Bark Town.
Named my rival Silver. (Creativity everywhere!)
Went ahead and hacked in my other team members, all at level 2.
Nicknamed everyone. Chips the Larvitar, Syrup the Politoed and Lime the Natu.
Leveled my new team members up to around level 8. Dippy currently at level 12.
Went to Violet City, went through Sprout Tower to get Flash, then conquered Falkner's Gym.
Got the Egg from Elm's Assistant and headed towards Union Cave.
Dippy evolved into Bayleef.
Cleared Team Rocket out of Slowpoke Well, then went to take on the Gym.
Lime destroyed everything in Bugsy's Gym. (Woo, Peck!)
Defeated Silver, went to the Ilex Forest and got Cut.
Caught an Oddish (Shrubby), taught it Cut and went through the forest to Goldenrod City.
Got the Radio Card, beat up on some of Whitney's underlings.
End of the first update.

Current Team

Dippy (Bayleef; Male) - Lv. 20
Tackle, Poison Powder, Razor Leaf, Reflect

Lime (Natu; Male) - Lv. 17
Peck, Leer, Night Shade

Syrup (Politoed; Female) - Lv. 19
Water Gun, Hypnosis, Doubleslap, Perish Song
Chips (Larvitar; Male) - Lv. 17
Bite, Leer, Sandstorm, Screech

HM Slaves: Shrubby (Oddish - Cut)

March 4th, 2011, 6:40 PM

Oh would you look at that, I made it to the hall of fame! :D

March 4th, 2011, 6:50 PM
Dove - Venusaur @ level 34
Leech Seed
Razor Leaf

Superstars - Weepinbell @ level 29
Vine Whip
Stun Spore

Green - Metapod @ level 12
String Shot

Plus another Bellsprout that knows Cut, and a filler Caterpie. Beat Brock and Misty by just attacking once. Right now grinding and raising defences enough so I can take on Surge. I think that's all of importance --oh, and battling trainers with stun spore/supersonic, omg is terrible. Though now I use leech seed and poisonpowder to my advantage. Also, Metapod gets a lot of critical hits.

March 4th, 2011, 7:08 PM
I'll join, so I have something to do until Black comes out on Sunday.
I'll be playing Green and my team will be Venusaur, Scyther, and Victreebell.

I started a couple minutes ago.
- Named my character RED and rival BLUE (original, I know.)
- Picked Bulbasaur
- Grinded Bulbasaur to level 10 on Route 1, like I do on every game.
- Got Oak's Parcel/Pokedex
- Used gameshark code to catch a level 3 Scyther on Route 1 (hope that's okay. I only used the code to make it appear.)
- Currently grinding Scyther on Route 1.

Is there a site that translates the attacks a little better? I'd hate to get rid of a good move for something terrible that I don't know what it is.

March 4th, 2011, 7:28 PM
LeafGreen complete. Moving on to Gold version with the team of Meganium, Xatu, and Tyranitar.

Final Leaf Green Update:

Yeah, basically beat the game. Not much to say here, so here are some screens. (I forgot to take one when battling Sabrina. D:)
- Ivysaur evolves! :D

- Weepinbell is allowed to evolve after learning Razor Leaf.

- I had to do so much training to get my levels this high. I trained everyone to about level 65 for the League, so I wouldn't have any problems. Although, I soon found out that it wasn't necessary, because Swords Dance on a Scyther can destroy everything. Oh well. xD

Final Team:

Scyther Lv. 70
Aerial Ace, Slash, Swords Dance, Pursuit

Venusaur Lv. 65
Razor Leaf, Toxic, Leech Seed, Attract

Victreebel Lv. 63
Razor Leaf, Acid, Growth, Stun Spore

March 4th, 2011, 11:03 PM
Gold challenge completed~

Final Update - Gold

Beat Whitney and her evil Miltank fairly easily, thanks to Syrup's Perish Song.
Bought a TM and taught Syrup Ice Punch.
Got the Bicycle and the Squirtbottle, defeated Sudowoodo and headed to Ecruteak City.
Battled the Kimono Girls and got Surf, then taught it to Syrup.
Went to the Ecruteak Gym and defeated Morty with a combination of Perish Song and Bite.
Decided to take a quick detour to the Lake of Rage and catch the red Gyarados (Sparkles) for more HM fun.
Went back to Ecruteak, battled Silver at the Burned Tower and released the dogs.
Backtracked even more. Traded the Red Scale to Mr. Pokemon for an Exp. Share and showed Togepi to Elm for an Everstone.
Dumped Togepi in the PC and headed towards Olivine City.
On my way to the top of the Lighthouse Lime evolved into Xatu (yay).
Went back down, got the Strength HM from the guy at the restaurant and taught it to Sparkles.
Surfed over to Cianwood, got the Secretpotion and battled Chuck. Beat him easily thanks to Lime's Peck and Dippy's Razor Leaf.
Got Fly, taught it to Lime and flew back to Olivine, gave Jasmine the Secretpotion.
Went to battle Jasmine at the Gym. Syrup took all of her Pokemon down easily with Surf.
Flew back to Mahogany, cleaned up the Rocket Hideout and got Whirlpool from Lance then taught it to Sparkles.
Went to the Gym and battled Pryce. Dippy evolved into Meganium.
Flew back to Goldenrod to deal with Team Rocket yet again. Chips evolved into Pupitar.
Got the Basement Key, found the Director, got the Card Key and headed back to the Radio Tower to finish off Team Rocket.
Flew back to Mahogany and went towards the Ice Path. Picked up the Waterfall HM and taught it to Sparkles.
Made it to Blackthorn, restocked on items and headed to the Gym.
Managed to beat Kingdra with Hypnosis and Perish Song, then went to the Dragon's Den and got the Dragon Fang.
Went back to New Bark Town and then Surfed over to the next route.
Battled my way through Victory Road and made it to Indigo Plateau.
Did a bit of grinding and leveled everyone into the 50s. Chips evolved into Tyranitar.
Stuffed Sparkles and Shrubby into the PC and went to take on the Elite Four.

Had a fairly easy time beating them all. The only one who fainted was Lime, since he got stuck in a battle with Karen's Umbreon.

Final Team

Razor Leaf, Body Slam, Poison Powder, Synthesis

Crunch, Rock Slide, Earthquake, Sandstorm

Confuse Ray, Fly, Night Shade, Future Sight

Surf, Ice Punch, Hypnosis, Perish Song

HM Slaves: Shrubby (Oddish - Cut); Sparkles (Gyarados - Waterfall, Whirlpool, Rock Smash, Strength)

Update #2

-Celtic or Rangers?

Now I know - there are two guys from England in Johto! Ouuuaargh!!!

http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/8044/screen1a.png (http://img839.imageshack.us/i/screen1a.png/)

We started our great, fantastic and irish journey. Every trainer we fought had to pay us - we're rich now. In Violet City there are two places we need to visit - tower in the north and Violet Gym with scary, german-looking trainer, Falkner. von Falkner? But first, the tower. England was here! He was stealin' a cookies when I was battling the trainers. Cheater! But I couldn't managed to catch him, as he used magical flying super rope.

http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/3705/screen2sj.png (http://img843.imageshack.us/i/screen2sj.png/)

Irish Rule #4 - only Englishman would use an escape rope after stealing a lot of cookies from sprout tower.

After the battle with Sage Li, Eamon evolved into...Bailiff? Bayleef...it's Eamon de Valera, anyway. Sage Li had to capitulate - we conquered the tower. Irish flag is wavin' here, for the glory of Ireland. Hooray...x_X
Next, we visited second important place - a Gym. Bird keepers couldn't do nothing, obviously. We talked to Falkner then. He are really from Germany. "Das cookies ist verboten here!" - owww, I had to leave my cookies in the gym depot :( Anyway, after about two minutes, I was exiting the gym, with my cookies and Zephyrbadge.

http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/7622/screen3qk.png (http://img62.imageshack.us/i/screen3qk.png/)

Elm wanted me to hold his egg(x_X). I said "Okay, but if it won't give me green Pokemon - I'll eat it." I know it won't. I'll take it anyway. I must take it...

http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/6646/screen4yd.png (http://img691.imageshack.us/i/screen4yd.png/)

When we're walkin' on the south, one guy gave us da Miracle Seed. Yeah.

http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/6627/screen5nz.png (http://img197.imageshack.us/i/screen5nz.png/)

The End.

I think I'm going to do this in Gold now with these Pokemon:

March 5th, 2011, 4:22 PM
Pokémon Gold
St. Patrick's Ultimate Challenge

Challenge Complete.
Today, I begin my adventure in Pokémon Gold. I figure that my eventual team of Meganium, Xatu, and Tyranitar will be able to defeat everyone pretty easily, but we'll see how it goes.
Anyway, I begin the game. Somebody decides to wake me up. I have no idea why, I'm still half asleep. Apparently, I don't remember what time it is either.

Professor Oak goes off on the normal pre-game rant that happens every generation. I speed through it. Now, the time comes to decide my name. As per routine, I choose the name 'Inferno', which just barely fits. I have to be the male character, since in Gold, there is no choice. I don't find it to be that big of a deal, but...

(This can be very misleading.)

Finally, I can truly begin. I rush downstairs, pressing the A button repeatedly to get through everything that the character's mother says. I go into Professor Elm's Lab, and I pick...

Yep, I pick the Grass-Type Chikorita. That's already one member of my team obtained. After everyone is done talking to me, I race through the routes, over to Cherrygrove. The Old Man gives me a map. I heal at the Pokémon Center, and head north. I finally reach his house, and obtain the egg and a Pokédex. Soon, after receiving a call from Elm, I must head back to New Bark. However, on the way back, a mysterious person stops me. We battle, and I win.

(Yes, yes I am. :D)

He runs off, so I pretend that nothing just happened and continue back home. Elm and a cop are talking. Apparently, that dude stole a Pokémon. Huh. Interesting. I tell the cop that his name was 'Silver'.

(unoriginal ftw)

Elm tells me to go get the eight badges. Yes, thank you. I think I will. :D I get some Pokéballs on the way out. Awesome, now I could capture Larvitar. I go back home, and tell mom that I'm going on an adventure. I decline her offer to save my money, and depart. Yay.
Outside, the first thing that I do is capture my wonderful Larvitar. I run around until one appears.

(Awesome. :D)

I decide to train it up a bit, so it's at least level 10. I also do this to Chikorita, although I only have to train 2 levels. Boy, the next gym is going to be a walk in the park. At last, I travel to Violet City. I battle many trainers, including Youngster Joey, along the way. I capture a Pidgey and a Bellsprout too, for HM purposes.
Now, I decide to take on the Gym first.

It's pretty easy, but darn Mud-Slap ends up making all of Larvitar's Bite attacks miss, then faint. Chikorita nearly has the same fate. But luckily, it didn't. I get the badge, and then obtain the Togepi egg from Elm's assistant. I leave it in my party because I'm too lazy to use the PC. Anyway, I heal and head to the Sprout Tower.
I get though pretty quickly, and as quick as I am in, I head out with Flash. On to the next town!
While exiting the city, I talk to a dude, who gives me a Miracle Seed. I give it to Chikorita. I quickly get over to the next Pokémon Center and heal, and enter Union Cave. However, my Chikorita soon evolves into Bayleef. (However, I was too slow to get a shot of this, my bad. D:)
I get out quickly, and defeat the Rockets at the well. Bugsy is next, but I decide to defeat my rival first. Then, I grind just a bit, so Larvitar can learn Rock Slide. Because of this, Bugsy is taken out easily.

(I keep forgetting to get screenshots...but I got this. xD)

Now that all my business was done, I head into the Ilex Forest, and get the kid's Farfetch'd. I obtain Cut, and teach it to Bellsprout. I zip through the forest, battle some trainers, and then I arrive at Goldenrod. I heal, then head into the Department Store, and buy a Fire Punch TM to teach my future Tyranitar. I go into the Radio Tower and get the ability to use my radio on the Pokégear. Next, I go to battle Whitney, who turns out to be a pushover, thanks to Larvitar's Rock Slide.

(I'm a meanie. D:)

I heal, then go into the house where you get the Squirtbottle. After I'm already at the point where you capture Sudowoodo, I remember that I needed to get the Bicycle. I decide to go back for it later. But before that happens...

After I capture Sudowoodo and get to Ecruteak, I defeat the Kimono Girls, and obtain Surf. However, after fighting the Kimono Girl that had Jolteon...

With my awesome Pupitar, I take out my rival and Morty. Bite destroys everyone in the gym, and Rock Slide wrecked Silver's team.

(Yeah, I forgot again.)

I traveled then to Olivine, and got the Good Rod. Time to backtrack. I go back to Ecruteak, and capture a Poliwag for water HM purposes. Then, I head to the Union Cave, and travel through the way to Ruins of Alph. While still inside the Union Cave, my Bayleef evolves.

I battle the Psychic, and capture a Natu.

It's not long after that this happens:

(Natu only had to gain a level to evolve. xD)

I obtain Strength, and head to Cianwood. Chuck is defeated easily by Xatu and Meganium. Then, I get get Fly, teach it to Xatu, and fly to Olivine. Amphy is given the Secretpotion, so Jasmine leaves. She is also defeated at her gym by Pupitar and Meganium.

I head to Mahogany Town. I go up to the Lake of Rage, and capture the Shiny Gyarados. After this, I speak to Lance. I agree to help him, and head to the suspicious building. After his Dragonite uses Hyper Beam to defeat one of the dudes, we head down the stairs. The statue sets off an alarm, and I must defeat two Rockets. I head slightly south to defeat the Scientist, and shut the alarm off. Basically, I just clear out the whole building, getting all the passwords and whatnot. After the Electrodes are defeated, I head to the gym, where I take out Pryce quite easily.

(Me too.)

Elm calls me. Apparently, the Radio Tower's broadcast is screwed up. So lets see what we can do. :D
The tower is invaded. I heal, then climb the tower. The executive in disguise is defeated, and I head off again to find the director. Along the way, I defeat 4 Rockets, my Rival, and 2 burglars. Then, I defeat even more members of Team Rocket once I get into the department store's basement. I get the Card Key from the director, and leave.
I heal once again, then head up the tower for the second time. This time, my final opponent is a executive with a Houndour, Houndoom, and a Koffing. Pupitar takes them all out with Rock Slide. Finally, I can go to Blackthorn.
I traverse through the Ice Cave, obtaining Waterfall, and making it through quite easily. The Blackthorn Gym turns out to be quite easy. I just move some boulders, battle, and win.

(Yes. Yes you did.)

Now I'm ready for the League. I decide to get the Master Ball from Elm, then I head to Kanto. Through Tohjo Falls I go easily. Before I know it, I'm at Victory Road. (Did I mention how much I love Victory Road in this game?) I find TM26, which is Earthquake, immediately. Then, I take on Silver one last time. He gets wrecked. I head up to the League just to heal, then I go back to Victory Road to train a bit more. Soon, Pupitar evolves, and I teach it Earthquake.

My entire team is around level 50, so I begin the E4. They all go down pretty easily, without any problems.

Now, I battle Lance, the Champion. As you can imagine, Rock Slide just dominates his entire team, and I defeat him.

This now means that the Gold portion of this Ultimate is over, and completed in only six hours. :D I will be getting to Emerald version ASAP.

The Final Team

Meganium Lv. 54
Razor Leaf, Body Slam, PoisonPowder, Reflect

Tyranitar Lv. 58
Crunch, Rock Slide, Earthquake, Thrash

Xatu Lv. 54
Fly, Future Sight, Night Shade, Confuse Ray

Pokémon Emerald
St. Patrick's Ultimate Challenge

Part 1
Alrighty, so now, I will begin Pokémon Emerald, with http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/f/ff/254MS.png, http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/a/a0/272MS.png, http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/e/eb/330MS.png, and http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/1/16/346MS.png
I start the game out as usual. Name myself 'Inferno', and I choose the female character. The game begins with me in a shaking vehicle of some sort. It turns out to be a moving van. I go inside my new house with my mom, and see what's going on. Pokémon are moving several boxes around the house. I go upstairs.
The clock is set correctly, and after seeing my new room, I go downstairs. I head next door to see my new neighbor, who turns out to be a guy. After that, I head north, and a guy is being attacked by a Zigzagoon. I save him with a Treecko.
He lets me keep the Pokémon. I choose not to nickname it, and leave for Oldale Town. I train a little bit, then fight Brendan. He goes down easily. After that, we both head back to the Lab. I obtain a Pokédex and some Poké Balls. My in-game mother gives me the Running Shoes, and I'm off. I grind a tiny bit more, then I capture a Lotad.

After that, I train a bit more, then head to Petalburg. I help Wally get his Ralts, then depart for Rustboro. I battle a bunch of trainers on the way, then train to about level 20 once I get there. It takes quite a while, but it proves to be worthwhile. While this happens...

Finally, after a while, I'm more than ready to take on Roxanne. She proves to be no challenge.

(Yes, you lost.)

After this happens, a random guy comes running along. Guess it's my job to see what's wrong, eh? I go over to Rusturf Tunnel, where an old guy apparently had a Wingull stolen. I head inside, and fight the Aqua member. I get Peeko back. Then, I head over to Mr. Briney's house, after getting everything else in the city done.
I sail over to Dewford, deciding to battle the gym first, since I'm probably overleveled.

(Was a little late on the shot here)

After getting the badge, I heal up and head into Granite Cave. I'm sure to grab Flash before going any farther, although I don't even use it. (Or attempt to capture a Pokémon that can use it) I soon arrive at the room where Steven is. I deliver the letter, get Steel Wing, and leave. I depart with Mr. Briney to Slateport.
I defeat everyone on the beach with ease. Then, I try to give the Devon Goods to some random guy, but he referred me to the Oceanic Museum. I enter, and there are Team Aqua members everywhere. I decide to ignore them, and head up the stairs to see a guy. I assume he was the one I was supposed to give the goods to, so I do just that, right after I defeat two grunts.
I leave for Mauville after healing. I fight Brendan on the way there, but he is taken down. As soon as I arrive, I heal at the Pokémon Center. I find something pretty cool there.

(Pretty fitting for a St. Patrick's day challenge.)

Anyway, I train a bit before taking on Wattson. It's a pretty intense match, but I end up victorious.

(Sooooooooo close.)

After I win here and get both Rock Smash and Strength, I head to Fallarbor. Once there, I continue to Meteor Falls, and follow both the teams to Mt. Chimney. I take the way I came to get there, while battling some trainers. Team Magma grunts there are a pushover, but after battling one of them...

(Grovyle evolves! :D)

The very next battle is the one with Maxie. He is defeated quite easily.

(What?! xD)

As I make my way to Lavaridge, I battle a mysterious Magma member, and gain a few more levels. I quickly enter the gym, and begin to battle Flannery. Torkoal was the only semi-challenging Pokémon on her team, but he quickly ran out PP for both Body Slam and Overheat, so Lombre is free to sweep. I never even sent out Sceptile.

I exit the gym after getting the badge and Overheat, and see Brendan. I get the Go-Goggles, and travel into the desert. I quickly look for a Trapinch for my team.

(Yay. :D)

Not long after, I see the Mirage Tower, and using my Mach Bike, I climb it, obtaining the Root Fossil. I use the Rusturf Tunnel to get to the Devon Co. building, so I can get my fossil revived. It doesn't take too long. Soon, I have my Lileep. This gives me two brand-new Pokémon to work on training, which I get to immediately. It takes so long, so I stop for tonight after getting both to about level 30.

Okay I'm just going to say it, I have about 23 hours playtime, only beat three gym leaders and my Pokemon are at level 51 and 49. And then a filler. As to why? I've been ev training in attack/special attack (even though it probably sucks compared to others) because the Pokemon that give good defense I can't get early on. ;__; Plus I hate using grass types. I've gotten somewhat through the saffron rocket thing, and I've beaten the fighting dojo. Right now I'm just battling trainers til Weepinbell can learn Slam.

So! "Battling" team at the moment:

Weepinbell: 52, "Superstars"
Razor Leaf
Stun Spore

[Attack: 129, Defense: 64, SP Atck: 132, SP Defense: 60, Speed: 84]

Venusaur: 49, "Dove"
Razor Leaf
Leech Seed

[Attack: 100, Defense: 89, SP Atck: 135, SP Defense: 119, Speed: 116]

I'm just going to defeat these trainers and defeat the gym that can get surf then go train in defense if I still can. XD

Pokémon Emerald
St. Patrick's Ultimate Challenge

Part 2;
Challenge Complete!

I finish training my two newest team members. They both evolve into Vibrava and Cradily respectively. (Although I fail to get screenshots of either of these evolutions...xD) Now, I decide it's time for the 5th gym. I enter, battle all the trainers I can, heal, and prepare to face Norman.

Thanks to Cradily, this match is soloed. I head on to Fortree City next. On the way there, I encounter Steven, but he runs off quickly. I battle many trainers, and also encounter one of the villainous teams. I defeat all of them, and rest in the available bed. Brendan also rushes over to battle me, but he is defeated as well.
And...Scott is still following me.
Anyway, I head on over to Steven's location, and obtain the Devon Scope. I get rid of the one hiding in front of the gym, and enter. The trainers inside are defeated pretty easily. During one of the battles...

Flygon ends up being a huge help during the gym battle with Winona, but I decide to split the match between Flygon and Cradily. No one on my opponent's team really give me much of a challenge.

I move on, battling even more trainers along the way. Near the Safari Zone, Team Magma are seen heading to Mt. Pyre. I follow, chasing them away at the peak. I head back to the Jagged Pass, where the Magma Emblem sets something off. I go inside the newly discovered cave. Inside, I find some items, and defeat Maxie. Next, I'm off to Slateport.
Team Aqua steals the Submarine Explorer, so I head off to the Aqua base. I take out Aqua Admin Matt, but Archie is already gone. So I continue to my original destination; Mossdeep.
While on the way there, I manage to locate a Blue Shard, and trade it in for a Water Stone. I take this opportunity to evolve my Lombre.

I continue on to Mossdeep Gym. It is there that I take on the Gym Leaders. The puzzle is solved with relative ease, and I find them in a special room. I prepare for the battle.

Ludicolo's Surf rules the match. Everything is 2HKO'ed easily. Next, I head to the Space Center, where I fight some Magma members, even helping Steven with a match. After this, it's off to Seafloor Cavern, where many Aqua members waited. I eventually get to fight Archie, and he awakens Kyogre. Outside, it is pouring. I rush to Sootopolis.
Groudon and Kyogre are fighting like crazy, and apparently it's my job to stop them. So, I head to the top of Sky Pillar, and awaken Rayquaza. After he settles everything down, Maxie and Archie leave, and I enter the Sootopolis Gym. The puzzle is solved, and I prepare to take on Juan.

Ludicolo has to stall to take out Kingdra, but besides that, everything goes well. It's finally time for the E4!
I head to Ever Grande, and heal. I press on through Victory Road, defeating several trainers, including Wally. After I finally make it through, I train for a few more levels, until I know that I'm ready.
I grab some more items from the shop, and battle all the E4 members. (I forgot to get a shot of my battle with Sidney, so I didn't take any for the others either. I thought it'd be kind of...useless.)
After they are taken out, I'm ready for the final battle.

Wallace is defeated, thanks to teamwork and sacrifices made by everyone, Sceptile deals the final blow. Brendan rushes to give me advice, but by that time, it's already over. I am taken to put my team into the Hall of Fame, thus ending this portion of my Ultimate Challenge.

The Final Team

Flygon Lv. 56
Crunch, Screech, Dragonbreath, Earthquake

Cradily Lv. 52
Ancientpower, Amnesia, Confuse Ray, Ingrain

Sceptile Lv. 57
Screech, Slam, Leaf Blade, Detect

Ludicolo Lv. 58
Surf, Fake Out, Absorb, Nature Power

I decided to speed up the game a bit, and beat Erika, Sabrina and Koga. All of which would've been hard had I not trained my Pokemon in Attack (won't let me train in defense, though ;__;)

Victreebel: 62, "Superstars"
Razor Leaf

Venusaur: 55, "Dove"
Razor Leaf
Leech Seed

Also, still with the one grass filler. Caught a Gyarados so I could surf, caught a Doduo by accident and now it flies, also got that gift Lapras. Not using any of them, though.

On my way to battle the other gym leaders or something. :D Oh and yes Weepinbell evolved. And I also beat Team Rocket at Saffron. I intend to speed through the gym leaders and somehow quickly make it to the Elite Four and win before B/W.

March 8th, 2011, 10:56 AM
Beat Flannery. Got the Go-Goggles, and caught a Trapinch. :) Yay team member! Trained a bunch, getting ready to challenge my dad now.

Okay so I feel too lazy to make too big of a post.

After healing in Viridian City I headed towards the Pokemon League. I was interrupted my Shigeru. He battled me. I was able to defeat him even though most of his Pokemon had a type advantage. I then continued on towards Victory Road showing my badges to guards. I got to and through Victory Road soon after and was at the Pokemon League. My first opponent was Lorelei. I managed to defeat her without taking any damage! My next opponent was a tiny bit harder. Though Bruno still went down pretty easily. My next opponent was Agatha. Beating her Pokemon was extremely hard. To beat her Gengar I had to use a combination of Sleep Powder and Attract to stall them out so I could slowly chip away at their health with Razor Leaf. My fourth opponent was Lance. Lance was easier that Agatha but his Aerodactyl gave me a bit of trouble as it out sped all my Pokemon. My final opponent was Shigeru. I managed to defeat his Pidgeot with a combination of Sydian's Sleep Powder, Razor Leaf and Return attacks. His next Pokemon was Alakazam. After taking one Psychic attack Sydian was able to defeat it using Sleep Powder and Return. His next Pokemon was Charizard. For this I switched to Chaos. I managed to take it down using Sleep Powder and Strength. His next Pokemon was Exeggutor. For this I switched to Ayselipera. After Sleep Powder and Double-Edge I was fainted. His next Pokemon was Rhydon. With one Razor Leaf that fainted. Shigeru's las Pokemon was Gyarados. I switched to Chaos and with a combination of Sleep Powder and Razor Leaf we came out victorious. Shigeru didn't know why he lost so Professor Oak came and told him and then he took me to the Hall Of Fame. My Pokemon were registered on a computer and then the credits rolled. This concludes my St. Patrick's Day Challenge!

The 'Green' Team:
Chaos (Venusaur) Lv66.
Moves: Strength, Sleep Powder, Earthquake, Razor Leaf.
Sydian (Victreebel) Lv66.
Moves: Razor Leaf, Attract, Sleep Powder, Return.

March 9th, 2011, 9:30 PM
Gragh. Me compy's conspirin' against meh. For the... fourth? time, here's my update on Emerald.

Beat Flannery, critical hit four times against Norman (Leaf Blade, yay!) and battled Team Aqua. Now standing in Fortree city, ready to grind a bit more to beat Winona.

Lo the Lv. 35 Lombre
Yo the Lv. 35 VIBRAVA! (Dun dun!)
Ko the Lv. 31 Grovyle
Ro the Lv. 34 Breloom
Go the Lv. 5 Zigzagoon

Breloom's my strongest, but it's almost useless against Winona. :/ Vibrava's still a bit frail, but I've got high expectations of it a few more levels down the road. Grovyle just doesn't seem to be keeping pace with the others, probably because it's only got Grass and Dark type moves, and neither are very useful right now. Fighting and Water are much more useful.

March 10th, 2011, 10:11 AM
My current party:
Grovyle Lv.29
Lombre Lv.29
Breloom Lv.29
Dustox Lv.29
Zigzagoon Lv.3

Lavaridge Town

I'm pretty much in a weak position right now, the next battle is against Flannery and I'm probably going to be thrashed. I'll be trying some Leach Seed and Stun Spore combo against Torcoal, but I don't think that would be affective enough. :(

March 10th, 2011, 10:44 AM
Gold update:

Black is distracting. :( I've been playing Gold during my breaks at school though, and right now I'm the Underground, confused by the door switches. Annoying as hell.

Cucumber / Meganium (m) lv. 38
Razor Leaf, Poison Powder, Body Slam, Synthesis

Vizarr / Pupitar (m) lv. 37 (don't worry, I'll do whatever it takes to evolve him before E4 XD)
Rock Slide, Bite, Headbutt, Mud-Slap

Pallezoo / Politoed (m) lv. 37
Surf, Hypnosis, Strength, Ice Punch

Cipher / Scyther (f) lv. 37
Slash, Leer, Fury Cutter, Wing Attack

.net / Celebi lv. 28
Shadow Ball, Ancient Power, Heal Bell, Recover

Emerald update:

I have all the badges. Just need to do the remaining Trick Houses, Meteor Falls, Victory Road, and smash the league. Shouldn't be hard, this team is amazing. (Can't remember moves/levels right now though, plus the movesets aren't complete idk)

Arcko / Sceptile
Miror B. / Ludicolo
8.07 PM / Electrike
Tenor Fly / Kecleon
Larry / Flygon
Algonquin / Xatu

March 10th, 2011, 12:31 PM

March 10th, 2011, 7:09 PM
Update 7 - Emerald

1)Mega Drain
3)Mach Punch

March 11th, 2011, 4:53 AM
I hope I'm not to late :/

I'm going to be using Leaf Green, but if the Hack "Spirit Gold" is allowed I'll do that instead, because I'd much rather play a game that I already have emulated then to play it un-emulated (for the sake of screenshots + proof)

Could I?

March 11th, 2011, 5:22 PM
Sorry Chaos, hacks aren't allowed in this one. I'll sign you up for LG, and I'll add the rest of you in there too. And yes, you may hack for a Bulbasaur. :]

- Into Petalburg Woods; tried to find a Cascoon to evolved into a Dustox. Caught one LV5; female.
- I did -however you called putting a Pokemon first then switching for another so he can gain exp.- with Cascoon. And in the Rustboro Gym, he evolved into Dustox, and I also defeat the gym leader, *cough*second try*cough* Roxane -Put on the red light ♪-.

- Saved Devon Goods and Peeko.
- Bulbasaur evolved into Ivysaur. Yay.

March 12th, 2011, 7:34 AM
Okay, thanks. I'll do what I can to complete this challenge.
...I won't have any screenshots in my updates, though.

March 12th, 2011, 9:40 AM
Alright Syd FYI I have not given up on this challenge... But I'm tired of updating >_< but as of now I'm getting ready to head to Cinnabar island. Almost Done!

March 12th, 2011, 1:11 PM
Second Update:

-Then defeat May and she gave me the Itemfinder.
- Also, I being avoiding double battles and instead I prefer battle the people one by one; thats for now. Unless they are the twins, the reporters or something like that.

- Obtained Rock Smash.
- Went to Slateport City -to buy a Harbor Mail- across the Bicycle Route (defeating all bikers)
- Obtained a Coin Case.
- I battled every opponent that were on any adjacent route to (the Winstrate family challenge too).
- Dustox learned Psybeam. Yay : D
- Defeated Wally's Ralts with one Headbut by Aron. The weirdo Scott talked to me.
- Fought every Gym minion and defeated them all with Aron.
Note: What's with the gym, Meditite? Zigzagoon? Gulpin? I tought it was an electric type gym.
- I lost against the Leader the first time.
- Grind Aron to level 23.
- Aron didnt last enough against Wattson but still I won, thanks to Venasaur.

- I kept walking until Fallarbour and then that Cave were I found for first time the Aqua Team.

Kind Of Important:
- OK, by now my Aron havent evolved and I didnt know in which level its supposed to evolve; so I looked up. And I remembered that... Aron evolved into Aggron. And instead of an Aron, I should of caught a Larvitar
Anyway I noticed also that the only way to caught a Larvitar in Emerald is trading, and I'm using an emulator. Can I hack a Larvitar, the same level that my Aron?

Pokémon HeartGold
St. Patrick's Ultimate Challenge

Challenge Complete.
Alright. Now, it's time for HeartGold. Since this counts as the 4th generation of my Ultimate Challenge (taking place of D/P/Pt), I'll be using Torterra, Yanmega, and Roserade. So anyway, here I go. BTW, there will only be screens of Gym Leader battles and E4 battles this time, since these ones are more of a pain to get.
So, I begin the game my obtaining Totodile from Elm. Just for surfing purposes and whatnot. I go through all the early game stuff, y'know, going through Cherrygrove, getting the Running Shoes, heading to Mr. Pokémon's house, etc. On my way back, I defeat my currently unnamed rival. However, once I get back, I name him Silver.
After I'm able to start capturing Pokémon, I obtain all my team members, including Turtwig, Yanma, and Budew. I train them a bit, and continue through to Violet City. I head up the Sprout Tower, and defeat all of the Sages. I obtain Flash.
I heal my Pokémon, and fight Falkner at his gym.

(A bit late on this one...BTW, Totodile is there because he was second in my party, and I never really rearranged it properly until later.)

It's a pretty easy battle. Yanma actually does quite a lot of damage with SonicBoom, but ends up fainting after I miss a Quick Attack, thanks to Pidgeotto's Sand-Attack.
After this, I get the egg from the Mart, and leave. It doesn't take me too long to get through Union Cave. While I battle a Hiker, my Turtwig evolves into a Grotle. Soon, I'm in Azalea. I go see Kurt, and he runs off to the Slowpoke Well. I head over there as well, and take out Team Rocket. Then, it's time to take on Bugsy.

(Yes, I changed the text box border to green on purpose. :D)

It's a pretty quick battle; Yanma, once again, takes out a Pokémon with SonicBoom and Quick Attack, and that Pokémon was Scyther. The other two were pretty easy, so I switched out, and let Grotle finish. After this, I heal, and head to the Ilex Forest. On the way to the gate, I defeat Silver once again.
It's pretty straightforward, at least after the Farfetch'd are returned. I make it through quickly, and get to Goldenrod. The Radio Tower is my next destination, where I get the Radio Card. Then, I head off to fight Whitney.

She's pretty simple to defeat, actually. Miltank proves to not be much of a challenge, especially since Budew poisoned it twice, then Grotle finished it, as well as the rest of the match. She cries, then decides to give me my badge. I heal, buy a few items, and depart. However, I'm sure to get the Squirtbottle.
I soon encounter the odd looking tree. It turns out to be Sudowoodo, and I capture it. After that, I quickly reach Ecruteak. I enter the Burned Tower, and release the legendaries. Also, I defeat Silver. I do a bit more training to elevate my team's levels. I head out to the gym.

(Grotle evolves right after this, BTW.)

Grotle's Bite owns the entire gym, and the match. Very easy. I obtain Strength from the Hiker after I exit the gym. Next, I go to Olivine. I scale the Lighthouse, defeating several trainers on my way up. Jasmine instructs me to go get medicine. So, I do just that. I cross the sea to Cianwood, where I get the medicine. Also, I take on Chuck.

(Yeah. Late again.)

It's pretty easy. Torterra owns this match once again. Primeape does nothing but try to Focus Punch, and Torterra has a type advantage over Poliwrath.
Next, I fly to Olivine. I use the elevator to get to the top of the Lighthouse, and deliver the SecretPotion. Jasmine goes back to the gym, where I can now battle her as well.

Torterra does it again. Earthquake OHKO's both Magnemites and 2HKO's the Steelix. Not much of a challenge. I exit the gym, healing and heading off to Mahogany Town.
During a battle that I fought on the way there, Yanma learns AncientPower, and evolves into Yanmega. Budew also evolves near this point. I go to the Lake of Rage, capturing the Shiny Gyarados, and encountering Lance. Accepting his question, I follow him to the Rocket's Base. I accomplish everything I need to here, like getting all of the passwords. The Electrodes are defeated (poor Electrodes...) and the machine shuts off. Now, I can battle Pryce.

Pryce is pretty easy. His entire team is weak to grass types. Anyway, I next must head to the Radio Tower. You guys know the drill here...defeating all the Rockets, getting the Basement Key, Card Key, Rival battle, etc. Next is Ice Cave, which I zoom through. Finally, I am at Blackthorn.
I use the move tutor to teach my team some moves, like Wood Hammer to Torterra and Toxic to Roselia. After this, I evolve my Roselia. I then head into the gym, completing the puzzle and facing Clair.

Roserade sweeps with Growth-boosted Petal Dances. Clair gets mad, and sends me to the Dragon's Den. I get the elder's approval, so she gives me the badge. Finally, you'd think I'd be able to head to the Pokémon League, but of course...there's always something else you have to do. :/
I talk to Elm, and to make a long story short, I capture Ho-Oh. Now, I head to the League. It doesn't take much time to traverse through Tohjo Falls and Victory Road (where I defeat Silver for the final time).
Finally, I can fight the E4.

And I forget to get screenshots for them again

Yanmega destroys here. I think he finished every battle. At last, I'm up against Lance.

Yanmega's AncientPower and Roserade's Petal Dance sweep the team easily. In fact, I only get attacked about twice.

In conclusion, I enter the Hall of Fame, and finish this portion of the Ultimate. I just have White left, so I will get to that right now.

The Final Team

Yanmega Lv. 60
Bug Buzz, Supersonic, AncientPower, Air Slash

Torterra Lv. 58
Wood Hammer, Leech Seed, Earthquake, Crunch

Roserade Lv. 56
Petal Dance, Growth, Aromatherapy, Toxic

March 12th, 2011, 4:11 PM
fyi, you guys don't have to update all the time nor does it have to be fancy. The most important update is your final update to show you've completed the challenge. And yes, you can hack in a Larvitar~

March 12th, 2011, 4:58 PM
Challenge Complete :D Am I the first one done with green version??? The E4 was pretty intense in some parts, but I somehow made it through with only normal and grass type attack moves! Just a few comments:
http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr343/Dartfled/Mew.png Worst Green Sprite Ever
http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr343/Dartfled/Winning.png That was my highest leveled Pokemon out of my team of four. Yeah. I have not a clue how I won.
http://i498.photobucket.com/albums/rr343/Dartfled/Champ.png Haha... Spacebar=Massive amounts of hours on the game clock. Fun challenge!

Thanks for the event Syd! And for those interested, the final team:

March 12th, 2011, 8:08 PM
Alrighty, this is my first update.

-I went by the name of Emerald.
-started out with Treecko, which I named Tristan
-defeated May for the first time
-got the Pokedex and the Running Shoes

Starting Out

-met Norman, helped Wally catch his Ralts
-after first encounter with Scott, went on to Petalburg Forest
-defeated the Aqua Grunt who tried to steal from the Devon Researcher
-Up till this time, I only had Tristan the Treecko. After talking to the twins, I went back and caught a Lotad, nicknamed Lucille, on Route 102.
-I also caught a Shroomish, nicknamed Sarah, in Petalburg Forest. I switched Sarah out of every battle in order to get the Shroomish to level up without having it fight.

Rustboro City and Gym

-talked to Scott in Trainer's School briefly; got Quick Claw from teacher
-Tristan evolved into a Grovyle! after beating one of the Hikers on Route 116
-breezed through Gym Trainers in Rustboro Gym
-defeated Roxanne with the Grovyle, since the Lotad fainted before getting a hit in
-after seeing Aqua Grunt run off, chased him
-caught Taillow for HM-moves; since it couldn't learn Cut, Taillow went into PC
-caught Nincada for HM moves; now knows Cut
-anyways, beat Aqua Grunt and returned the Devon Goods...
-or not; anyways, got PokeNav from Mr. Stone
-battled May...and lost the first time
-after teaching Rock Tomb to Grovyle, battled and defeated May the second time through (Lotad evolved into Lombre.)

On to Dewford!

-after beating the two fishermen, I went into the Dewford Gym
-defeated all the Trainers in the Gym
-battled Brawly...and probably would've been defeated if I hadn't turned the game off, since I saved right before that
-quick trip back to Rustboro to buy some things
-went through the dark Granite Cave, kinda leveling up the team
-delivered Letter to Steven
-challenged Brawly again...and lost
-more training in Granite Cave, which took a while to get three Pokemon to Level 20 (still switching Shroomish out of battle)
-challenged Brawly a third time after saving and giving Miracle Seed and Silk Scarf to two of my Pokemon
-...I likely would've lost again if I hadn't turned the game off and on
-taught Bullet Seed to Grovyle, then challenged Brawly a fourth time and won

Moving On to Slateport
-actually, got Exp. Share from Mr. Stone first; gave it to the Shroomish
-beat Trainers in Seashore House
-now in Slateport, soon to go into museum

...It's all probably a little cluttered up...Anyways, my current team:

Tristan the Grovyle
-Lv. 22
-current moveset: Bullet Seed, Fury Cutter, Pursuit, Rock Tomb

Lucille the Lombre
-Lv. 21
-current moveset: Absorb, Growl, Fake Out, Nature Power

Sarah the Shroomish
-Lv. 21 (hurry up and evolve...)
-moveset probably doesn't matter until this Shroomish evolves into Breloom

-Lv. 6 (only with me for HM moves)
-current HM move: Cut

And, that's it for this update.

March 14th, 2011, 3:18 AM
Ok Sydian, doesn't really matter because I found a Leaf Green ROM ^.^

Expect Updates, Screenshots and Sprites tommorow.

Don't feel blue, be green with envy!

We're doing this

I love Leaf to death, so she will be the Main Character, Fire is just going to be the one I slaughter everyday.

Indigo <33333

If you guys say anything bad about WonderWorm, that means your jealous u.u

Fire, you may have a burning passion but I have a Heart of Gold.

My Team so Far.

March 14th, 2011, 1:52 PM
May I start an Emerald Challenge?

Looks like my team will be:

Sceptile, Ludicolo, Breloom, Cradily, Tropius, and Flygon.

I -may- attempt a "Leprechaun" challenge, but only if I can beat Emerald within a couple days. As I found out late, I'd have to beat all 4 games in... 17 days. XD Not impossible, but time consuming. ;)

On a side note: Am I able to hack in a Water Stone to evolve Lombre? The only Water Stone is available (I Believe) after the Elite 4. It was either that, or right before Victory Road... not 100% sure which.

March 14th, 2011, 2:18 PM
lol, I just realized that I beat Sapphire with Sceptile, Ludicolo and Breloom, as part of my ultimate grass monotype, which would qualify for this if I had played it on Emerald instead. FAIL. XD.

March 14th, 2011, 2:35 PM
Myzou, a Water Stone is available after you are able to Dive (7 badges), so I'd prefer you not hack for a Water Stone. :( I managed alright without one, and I assume the same for everyone else using Lombre in their challenge. Regardless, I'll sign you up on Emerald, and if you decide to do an Ultimate, just let me know! :)

March 14th, 2011, 2:44 PM

That's fine. Do you know where the Water Stone is? All the FAQs I found said it's only available after the elite 4, whereas one said there was one before Victory Road. The only reason I asked. :P After the 7th badge is perfectly reasonable.

On a side note: On my way to Rustboro, have Treecko and Lotad Level 10, Shroomish level 8.

There's an actual Water Stone in the Abandoned Ship where you Dive, and there are various colored shards along the route to Mossdeep where you can dive. Blue shard = Water Stone from the Shard Hunter.

March 14th, 2011, 7:12 PM
Well, I obviously have no life whatsoever. XD

6 Gyms Down.

Yay for Grinding to beat norman, only to find out Breloom can murder him alone.

Current Team:

Level 36
- Leaf Blade
- Fury Cutter
- Pursuit
- Quick Attack

Level 36
- Mach Punch
- Sky Uppercut
- Headbutt
- Leech Seed

Level 35
- Strength
- Surf
- Fake Out
- Nature Power

Level 35

- Astonish
- Confuse Ray
- Ingrain

Level 35
- Faint Attack
- Crunch

- Dragonbreath

Level 35
- Fly
- Magical Leaf
- Stomp
- Growth

Lileep is Green (Pokedex Wise) when it turns into Cradily, just so people don't say I'm lying. :P Check the link in first post if you want. :D

I -might- keep playing tonight, but meh, been playing for a while already, XD By the way, you have me labeled as Kyzou, not Myzou in the first page. :3

Pokémon White
St. Patrick's Ultimate Challenge

Ultimate Challenge Complete!
I want to start off by saying that if you haven't played White yet, and don't want it to be spoiled, then don't scroll down. Anyway, I'll be playing White now with Serperior, Simisage, Lilligant, and Reuniclus. So yeah...here we go! :D

I start off by naming myself Inferno, like I normally do. Of course, I choose the female character. The game begins, and out of the nicely wrapped box, I choose Snivy. I defeat both Bianca and Cheren with ease. Snivy gets a critical hit on Cheren's Tepig, which sealed the deal. My room is a mess, and the other two go downstairs to apologize to my in-game mother. They both exit, and I follow after receiving the Xtransceiver.
I see Bianca going towards her home, so I follow. She gets yelled at by her father. It doesn't affect her that much, and she leaves. We head into Professor Juniper's lab. We all get a Pokédex. As soon as we exit, we also get Town Maps.
Those two race off to Route 1, and I follow. Juniper demonstrates how to capture a Pokémon. Once I'm free to do what I want, I capture a Pansage. Once I catch up with everyone, the Xtransceiver rings. Finally, I head to Accumula Town. I get introduced to the Pokémon Center. Then, I head outside. There is something going on, apparently, but for now, I ignore it and decide to train a little.
After this, I hear Team Plasma's speech, and defeat N. After this battle, I heal, and head to Route 2. I battle Bianca, and she is defeated very easily. I then arrive in Striaton City. I go into the Dreamyard, and battle the trainers. While doing this, my Snivy evolves into Servine. I also obtain a Panpour, but I plan to use it for Surfing purposes.
I head back to the city, where I prepare to face the gym leaders. I get through the trainers and the puzzle easily, then battle Chili.

After this, Fennel gives me Cut. I use this to go cut down the tree in the Dreamyard. I defeat the Plasma members and save Munna. Also, I go back to Fennel's house and get the Pal Pad and C-Gear (both of which I'm not going to need at all)
Next, I go to Route 3, and defeat several trainers, as well as Cheren. Also, the Team Plasma members are all defeated. Now, I can head south. I defeat some trainers, and end up in Nacrene City. At the Pinwheel Forest, I take out a bunch of trainers, and rack up the Experience Points. Finally, I'm ready to take on Lenora.

She's defeated quite easily, actually. Leech Seed was pretty helpful too. Anyway, Lenora's husband comes running to us. Team Plasma has shown up. They steal the skeleton's head, and run off somewhere. It's up to us to find them. I'm instructed to head off to the Pinwheel Forest. In there, I catch a Petilil. I begin to train it up as I defeat Team Plasma and get the skull back. I return it to Lenora. I cross the Skyarrow Bridge at this point.
As soon as I arrive in Castelia City, I evolve Pansage into Simisage with the Leaf Stone I obtain. I also help out Bianca, and challenge the gym.

Burgh isn't too tough. Anyway, I continue on. Bianca and Cheren are defeated once again, along with other trainers on Route 4. I make it to Nimbasa City, win against N and battle the Gym Leader. However, before that, I caught a Solosis at Route 5 and trained it up some. Also, I use the Sun Stone that is obtained in the town to evolve my Petilil into Lilligant.

(Solosis's Hidden Power was Ground. That = Instant Win)

I exit to Route 5, Cheren loses again, and I cross the bridge. Once there, I heal and find the Plasma members in the Cold Storage. I then head to the gym, and prepare for the incoming battle.

(Grass > Ground.)

I heal up my team, then head to Route 6 and battle Bianca. I obtain Fly. Clay helps me get into Chargestone Cave, so I enter and do some exploring. I see Juniper and Bianca, and get the Lucky Egg, which I use for training. Also, I clear out the cave of Team Plasma, and exit. Seeing that the Gym Leader isn't here, I head to the Celestial Tower, and climb it, while battling many trainers. In one of these battles, Servine evolves into Serperior. I head back to the city, and defeat Skyla.

(I forgot completely this time about a screenshot.)

Anyway, I defeat Cheren near Twist Mountain, then I begin to scale it. It takes some time, but I finally reach the other side. I enter the gym, and solve the lengthy puzzle in order to fight the leader, Brycen.

At that point, my team is very high in level. (Lucky Egg ftw) Also, my Duosion has evolved. This battle is pretty straightforward, Psychic owns. I go out, heal, and head to Dragonspiral Tower. I scale it, defeating Team Plasma members. I see N, and now I must head to Relic Castle. There, I do the same thing, defeating Plasma members. After everything is said and done, I have to head to Nacrene City. I receive the Dark Stone, and head to Opelucid City.
I eventually get there after defeating several trainers, including Bianca. I solve the long puzzle in the gym, and prepare to fight Iris.

This battle took some time, but ultimately, with some Revives and Potions, I win. (I have little to no diversity in my team...xD) After this, I head to Route 10 and Victory Road, defeating Cheren once again on the way there. I finally reach Victory Road. (Which is awesome in this game) After a few battles, I also reach the E4, where I prepare to battle. I save, and take it on.

(Timing was off, lol.)

Finally, all the battles are done. However, I soon have to face N! After watching the castle rise from the ground, I enter it, ready to win. I do capture Zekrom, but I made sure that my party was full so it wouldn't automatically enter my party. (Otherwise, it goes to the first slot position automatically)

(I was so focused on this that I apparently forgot another screen, my bad.)

After all is said and done, I defeat a very confused N, then a very evil Ghetsis.

This means the challenge has reached it's end, and my Ultimate St. Patrick's Day Challenge is completed...all before the actual day! :D

The Final Team

Serperior Lv. 52
Leaf Blade, Coil, Slam, Leech Seed

Simisage Lv. 57

March 15th, 2011, 8:15 AM
Almost done with my Emerald run! Winona was a pain in the rear since most of my team was weak to flying. :< Tate & Liza were unbelievably easy with Flygon & Xatu (Shadow Ball FTW!) and Then there was Juan. O.O At this point I realize that my entire team is weak to Ice Beam, which his Kingdra has. Nooooooooooooooo! >.< Took me leveling up many more levels and getting a lucky crit in order to beat that bloody Kingdra. Sidetracked to pick up my Water Stone and evolve Lombre, and made my way through Victory Road. :) Now at the league gate. I am going to go back, though, because I forgot to pick up Giga Drain. (Lo still knows Absorb, WTH? XD )

Lo the Lv. 47 Ludicolo (Fake out, Absorb, Surf, Ice Beam)
Ro the Lv. 47 Breloom (Sky Uppercut, Mach Punch, Leech Seed, Mega Drain)
Yo the Lv. 51 Flygon (Earthquake, Dragonbreath, Fly, Crunch)
Xo the Lv. 47 Xatu (Psychic, Wish, Shadow Ball, Peck)
Ko the Lv. 31 Grovyle (Flash, Strength, Leaf Blade, Quick Attack)
Do the Lv. 32 Sharpedo (Dive, Waterfall, other stuff.)

Yay for being slightly underlevelled. After getting Giga Drain, I'm just going to bash myself against the E4 until they fall. ^^;

That was far easier than expected... I forgot that the Champion was Wallace and not Steven... XD I kinda squished him. Milotic was the only pain in the rear, and Ro's Leech Seed won out in the end. :) Final team!

Ro the Lv. 50 Breloom (HOENN MVP)
Mega Drain
Sky Uppercut
Mach Punch
Leech Seed

Yo the Lv. 53 Flygon

Xo the Lv. 47 Xatu
Shadow Ball

Lo the Lv. 52 Ludicolo (ELITE FOUR MVP)
Ice Beam
Fake out
Giga Drain

Ko the Lv. 37 Sceptile (Evolved on Wallace when he received the last of Milotic's HP from Leech Seed. XD )
Leaf Blade
Quick Attack

Do the Lv. 32 Sharpedo (HM Slave)
Rock Smash

Sorry for the lack of pictures, but I'm playing on a cartridge, so... yeah. :/ Now back to my UMC!

Future Sight, Shadow Ball, Ancient Power, Leech Seed

Celebi is only really there because I like having full teams.

March 16th, 2011, 3:06 AM
Sydian just one question, what is the maximum level diffrene between team members? WonderWorm won't be able to trudge through the game being the same level as Indigo anymore, since there will be harder Pokemon, and that means less chance to level up WonderWorm. So is the max difference of Levels 5, 10, or 15?

March 16th, 2011, 3:34 AM
Time: 36:24 - Complete LeafGreen

Superstars - 73
Razor Leaf

Dove - 63
Razor Leaf
Leech Seed

HMsss - 17
Vine Whip
Sleep Powder

Final Comments

Don't kill me Syd if my third Pokemon wasn't at like the level of the others, but I honestly find it difficult to train two Pokemon at once, I normally dominate with one, and especially since they're grass... yeah ;__; Whatevs, it's been in my party for ages anyway! XD Elite Four was hard to beat, but thanks to Toxic / Leech Seed I made it <3 Also if you want photos, I guess I could take it off my DS from my camera if you want proof? But yeah, playing grass types with LeafGreen limited me to only like literally three different types of Pokemon, with majorly weak moves, buuut, for once I actually liked a non offensive move (being Toxic) so yeah. XD;

BUT YEAH. NEVER PLAYING THROUGH A WHOLE GAME EVER AGAIN WITH ONLY GRASS TYPES. It's so freaking hard :( Oh well I survived. :D Oh and with the first post, iirc, LeafGreen defs is the hardest to pick. XD;;

March 16th, 2011, 7:59 PM
I guess the level difference doesn't matter too much, since Nica went ahead and finished with a level 17 Bellsprout. XD I guess as long as you've trained them up as much as you can, then it's fine. I mean, I didn't even train Celeb all the way, and then Tyranitar was WAY ahead of the rest of my team.

March 17th, 2011, 6:50 PM

So, trying to hack for a LV 30 Larvitar was a pain, damn Emerald game, so I will stop that, you can take me off the Emerald Eyes list.
And instead I'm going to play now in Pokemon Green. (then Gold)

Team: Victreebel, Venusaur and Scyther.

PS: In my game, Oak name is Aochider, is that correct?
Name: Ray
Opponent: Gary
I got a Bulbasaur, or shall I call it Incon? rofl
Caught a Score and a Stame. (Scyther and Bellsprout, lol)
Defeated Brock.

Defeated everyone up north and then Casimy (Misty).

Then Marchiss (Lt. Surge)

I went to the town where was the dead Marowak, I went to the route next to the right and I got sent to the intro.
Damn!, I will re-do it when I have the anger out.

I had the same thing happen to me multiple times :/ Was it the second lass in that vertical row of trainers? There's also a few more trainers that do that, one of them being the last trainer in Blaine's gym. Just answer the question, or else as soon as you talk to him, the game crashes.

Sign me up, bay-bee! I'll be using Emerald today, and my team will be: Sceptile, Cradily, Ludicolo, Flygon, Electrike, and of course Breloom~ I will not be posting updates because I constantly forget, but I will post a picture of my HoF data when I finish.

March 20th, 2011, 1:35 AM

I beat Blaine with a combination of Sleep powder and normal moves.
Did the tri-island stuff.
Beat Giovanna with my Grass moves and sleep powder.

Training to beat my rival now. He has Pidgeot, Alakazam and Charizard, all super effective on me. Pidgeot and Alakazam are easy, but Charizard is freakin hard. So yeah, time to train some more :D

Sleep powder

Giga drain
Secret power
Sleep powder

Razor leaf
Leech seed

Actually, I think I will post updates. Derp.

Started the game with Patrick the Treecko.
Did mandatory opening stuff and went onto the Route near Oldale, where I caught a Lotad. ...After killing another one. >> Named her Groeni, but will probably be renamed to something cooler.
Shook fist at Pokédex for not allowing Gardevoir to be a Green Pokémon.
Did Wally's little subquest, met Scott, etc.
Entered Petalburg Forest after grinding my 'mons against some Wingulls and Poochyenas and the like.
Caught Roasty the Shroomish -- shaddup, it's an in-joke. This is half of my team, caught in the first few hours of the game. Pretty pro if you ask me. (The real problem is going to be Cradily... I hate those rock things, but not all my 'mons can be Grass-types...)

March 22nd, 2011, 6:54 PM
Very delayed update on account of being out of town for the past week, but finally getting my update up. ~

Also, I decided to not add Xatu and Tropius to my team. (The latter because it would be another grass type... the former because by the time I caught one, my team was about 13 levels ahead and I didn't feel like grinding) Instead, I trained Kecleon.

-Started my journey back to Rustboro, training Trapinch along the way.
-Continued on back toward Petalburg.
-Prepared my team for what I assumed would be a tough battle against "my dad".
-Took on Petalburg gym and after about four tries, finally collected my badge.
-Trapinch evolved into Vibrava.
-Collected HM03 and prepared for yet another journey, this time across the water.
-Surfed out toward the abandoned ship, training my Pokemon on the way.
-Explored the ship a bit and then continued across the water, once again training my team.
-Surfed around for a bit, exploring as many surfing areas as possible before finally heading toward the next town.
-Arrived at the weather institute and did that little side plot.
-Battled my rival, and found him embarrassingly easy this time.
-Arrived in Fortree.
-Collected my Pokemon... scope... thing... to find Kecleons and caught Kecleon.
-Challenged Winona, beating her on my first try using Lombre, Dustox, Kecleon, and Vibrava. Only one that gave me trouble was her Skarmory.
-Team was about Lvl 38 by that time. (lowest level being Kecleon at Lvl 32 or 33)
-Continued my journey once again.
-Headed toward the next town, battling the trainers along the way and trained Kecleon to lvl 37 so that he'd be up to speed.
-Arrived in Lilycove, did some shopping after defeating my rival once more, and headed to Mt. Pyre.
-Defeated the grunts, explored Mt. Pyre, continued along the route.
-Headed back to Jagged pass, defeated Team Magma.
-Returned to Lilycove, talked to the grunts.
-Returned to Slateport, watched Team Aqua take the submarine.
-Returned to Lilycove, defeated Team Aqua.
-Surfed to Mossdeep, defeating the trainers along the way.
-Took on Tate and Liza, defeating them using Dustox, Lombre, and Sceptile.
-Went to the space center, defeated Team Magma.
-Explored the ocean; dive and all. (used a Tentacool for Dive)
-Traded blue shard for water stone, evolved Lombre into Ludicolo.
-Vibrava evolved into Flygon.
-Found the submarine, did the Team Aqua thing.
-Went to Sootopolis.
-Did the cave of origin thing.
-Went to Pacifidlog.
-Explored the water a bit more.
-Went to the Sky Pillar.
-Returned to Sootopolis.
-Finished the legendary thing and took on Juan, beating him quite easily using Kecleon, Sceptile, Ludicolo, and Flygon.
-Headed toward Evergrande. (using Tentacool for Waterfall)

Current team:
Dustox - Lvl 47
Flash|Confusion|Psybeam|Silver Wind

Ludicolo - Lvl 48
Surf|Rock Smash|Giga Drain|Ice Beam

Kecleon - Lvl 48
Shadow Ball|Fire Blast|Thunder|Slash

Flygon - Lvl 48

Sceptile - Lvl 49
Bullet Seed|Cut|Leaf Blade|Slam

Update again!

-Made my way through Victory Road.
-Arrived at the Pokemon League.
-Stocked up on Potions, Full Restores, and Revives.
-Prepared my team for battle.
-Entered the league!
-Challenged Sidney, who was rather easy to beat using Dustox and Kecleon. (and a few Revives and Potions)
-Challenged Phoebe, who proved a challenge. But I eventually beat her using Kecleon, Sceptile, and Ludicolo. Had two fainted Pokes afterward. Healed up and continued.
-Challenged Glacia, who was a challenge. Had to soft reset once, but eventually took the win using Kecleon and Sceptile.
-Got anxious on my way to Drake, since he's usually my downfall.
-Challenged Drake. He proved a challenge, as per usual for me. But with a lot of luck, Flygon, Kecleon, and Ludicolo... I took the win after only one soft reset.
-Got even more anxious as I headed toward the champion.
-Challenged Wallace. This time, I had to soft reset several times. Since my team was around 50-52 and his was in the late 50's, I had a bit of a struggle. But I finally got down to his last few Pokemon... struggled with his Ludicolo, though... who insisted on Double Teaming and Leech Seeding me to death. Finally defeated him using my entire team (minus Dustox). Three of my Pokemon were fainted at the end, and one was down to red health... but it was a win!!!
-I am now the champion and I have a team of nothing but green Pokes to thank for it.

Final Team:
Kecleon - Lvl 52
Shadow Ball|Fire Blast|Thunder|Slash

Ludicolo - Lvl 50
Surf|Rock Smash|Blizzard|Ice Beam

Dustox - Lvl 50
Flash|Psychic|Hyper Beam|Silver Wind

Sceptile - Lvl 51
Bullet Seed|Cut|Leaf Blade|Slam

Flygon - Lvl 51

Total Play Time: 25:47

I have a new found respect for Kecleon. And now that I'm done with the challenge, I don't know what to do with my copy of Emerald.

March 25th, 2011, 6:43 PM
I'm joining the party a little late lol. I'll just update through screenshots (thank you PrtScr and Photoshop). Man, Grass types are a b**** to train!

Game: White
Name: Amber
Current Team: Ambee/Servine; Fluffee/Cottonee; Sulli/Petalil; Junhyung/Pansage; Taemin/Sewaddle

Current Location: Pinwheel Forest

March 27th, 2011, 12:34 AM
Beat my rival because of epic overleveling. xD

The way trough the victory road was easy with such high levels.

Lorelei got pwnt by some Razor leaves.
Bruno as well.
Agatha was really difficult.the rest pwnt with
Gengar, haunter were Leech seed stalled, the rest was pwnt with neutral normal attacks.
Lance was pretty difficult, but normal type moves + Sleep powder (and giga drain for Aerodactyl) ftw.
Then my rival battle was pretty hard, but level 80s live super effective attacks and kill with neutrals :)

Sleep powder

Giga drain
Secret power
Sleep powder

Razor leaf
Leech seed

So yeah, not too far before deadline :)

Please tell me if you want some proof, since I recorded my final rival battle.

March 27th, 2011, 3:25 PM
I should start this, shouldn't I?

Named myself Emerald, because this will also be part of my Grass UMC, and my theme has been on RSE games, I name my character a gem that is the same color as my type.
Saved Birch w/ Treeko (Clover)
Defeated May
Caught Lotad (Shamrock)
Witnessed the catchation of a Ralts by Wally
Saved dude in Petalburg Woods.
Both Clover and Shamrock evolved right before I fought Roxanne.
Fought Roxanne and won!

Coming up next: probs battle in Rusturf cave to about Wattson.

Screenies (accidentally missed the one naming Treeko):
Gotta put my update 2 here since nobody's updated yet...
Did Rusturf Tunnel stuff
Missed a May screenie.
Went to Dewford
Delivered Letter
Went to Slateport Bay
Went in Seashore house, won all three battles, and then spent ALL my money on Soda Pops. I know I'll need them for Wattson. I'm not going to have an attack that isn't NVE...
Backtracked for Brawly. Beat him
Delivered Goods, defeated whichever team I fought.
Fought May on the way to Mauville
Beat Wally
Beat Wattson. It was a lot easier than I thought; I only needed like 16 of my Soda Pops. I thought Shock Wave would do more to Clover...
Train train train. Overlevelling Clover for Flannery.
Hey, don't take that Meteorite! (Missed the screenie again...)
Screenies round 2http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/7223/pokemonsapphire01.pnghttp://img231.imageshack.us/img231/6956/pokemonsapphire02.pnghttp://img35.imageshack.us/img35/8931/pokemonsapphire03.png

If your final update is not posted by April 1 12 AM Central (-6 GMT), then you will not get your emblem. (Sorry if this confused anyone)

If you did an ultimate and completed at least one game, you will still get the emblem, since you actually did something.

March 30th, 2011, 6:13 PM
This stomach virus will not keep me from getting this emblem!

Beat Flannery with my new Sceptile.
Caught Cacnea (Ran out of actual St. Patty's names that I could think of at the moment, so had to improvise)
Beat Dad with Sceptile.
Got Surf, which I taught to Lombre.
Got Ice Beam, also to Lombre. He is now ready to do stuff before I fight Winona.
Paused for a sec to consider final Movesets.
Taught Rock Tomb to Sceptile.
Taught Strength to Lombre temporarily.
Taught Toxic to Cacnea.
Cacnea Evolved!
Got Devon Scope.
Defeated Winona, taught Sceptile Aerial Ace.
After being given an Orb, I took a quick trip to route 123 to get Giga Drain for Lombre.
Went to a class and came back. Went to Slateport to see the sub get jacked.

Edit for more progress:
F'hargon learned Needle arm finally.
Did other stuff
Final two gym leaders? Puh leez.
Got to Elite Four.
Saved and quit.

No screenies because of my rush to get to E4.
Edit round 3: Done!
Sydney: Easy work for Shamrock and some help from Clover
Phoebe: Sweep w/ F'hargon
Glacia: Almost w/ Shamrock, gotta love that Miracle Seed boosted Giga Drain! Walrein got lucky w/ Blizzard, so F'hargon had to finish the battle
Drake: Almost sweep w/ Clover after 6 Rare Candies were administered. Gotta love Dragon Claw! (Shamrock had to finish off Altaria though, as Salamence almost OHKO'd Clover w/ Flamethrower and Altaria fainted her w/ something.
Champ: Don't make me laugh.

Had some fun with the final screenshot.

Final Team:
Shamrock, the Lv. 50 Ludicolo @Mystic Water
Surf, Ice Beam, Brick Break (Dive or Waterfall until after I didn't need them anymore), Giga Drain (Bullet Seed or Strength when I could learn it, until I didn't need it anymore)

Clover, the Lv. 51 Sceptile @Soft Sand
Earthquake (Dig until I got EQ), Dragon Claw (Aerial Ace until Drake), Leaf Blade, Rock Tomb)

F'hargon, the Lv. 48 Cacturne @Miracle Seed
Needle Arm, Toxic, Double Team, Faint Attack

Dargon, the Lv. 26 Tropius
Fly Slave

Not really sure on who the MVP of my team was... It was definitely Clover at the beginning, but she lost usefulness as the other two got better. Would have been fine with any of them as starters. Shamrock was really useful with HM Juggling. At one point (Seafloor Cavern), she knew 3 (Dive, Surf, Strength)

March 31st, 2011, 12:21 AM
Ohhhhhhh yeaaaaaaaaaaah! Finally, I've completed this challenge. :'D

I went against the Elite 4, with a team of Level 50 Pokemon and they were amazing! Breloom and Dustox swept through Sidney, whereas Pheobe required a combined effort from the entire team. Breloom once again swept through Glacia, and Ludiculo and Flygon did a nice job kicking Drake. Sceptile and Breloom easily wiped though Wallace. :>

I'm feeling too lazy to type out anything, so I've got a whole bunch of screenshots with my green team!
