Question: Private vs. Visitor Messages

Just looking to clarify what the recommended uses are for each. I know what the differences are technically, but one can't help but be aware that each forum has their general preferences. Guess I'm just looking for PC's opinion specifically... just so I don't end up bugging people. =p

For general chatter, use VMs. For private matters and asking staff members questions that pertain to their specific section, use PMs.
