View Full Version : Sunflorazumarill's Hula Girl Pics

January 25th, 2006, 7:10 AM
All right now! Sunflorazumarill has decided to start doing pics full-force again! As it turns out, one of my favorite hobbies is to draw hula dancers! As an added twist, I thought about how various female Pokémon Trainers would look dressed in hula outfits! The result; I've started a project where I'll be doing several Pokémon females as hula girls! Each one will be very different from one another, with hula skirts of varying color, design, and length, many different backgrounds, and much more! Each Trainer will also be accompanied by their main Pokémon at their side! Not only that, but this topic will also be semi-request, meaning you can request a female Pokémon Trainer to perform the hula! Anyway, here's what to expect:

-- I will only take ONE request at a time. Once a request has made, no more may be requested until that one is finished and posted.
-- I will try to work on these everyday, meaning at the latest every 2 or 3 days I should have another ready to show to you.
-- I might do a pic of a female I decided upon myself before doing a requested one. Don't worry, I'll still get to yours.

Series of hula pics starts below this list

Anyway, here's the first pic that I've done. It happens to be Samantha from "Once in a Mawile". As you can see, she and her Mawile are performing their ribbon dance on a tropical stage. I'd like to hear your comments on thic pic of mine. Eventually, I'll start making a list of all my hula pics in this post, so keep looking after it.

I'm sorry, but the picture isn't loading for me ^^; I don't know why, all the other pictures here load...

Maybe it's the site where I upload them; Imageshack. That site tends to always work for me. In fact, the pic seems to load all right for me.

I love the concept and the colors. Even though I didn't find Sayori that hot, I still think she's cute.
I advise you to shape up quick with your anatomy, study tutorials like the ones at mangatutorials.net (I even study there!). And learn how to add shape into your girls' faces.
I truly hope you get at least somewhat better.

January 28th, 2006, 7:17 PM

Now it's time for me to unveil my second pic in my hula series; Lovrina from Pokmon XD! Lovrina's decided to do the hula out in the middle of the Oasis Pok Spot in Orre! Joining her are her Luvdisc and Delcatty! For the record, Delcatty has a dark aura around it because it's a Shadow Pokmon. Also, I'm planning on drawing Melody next, so keep this alive for a couple of days and she'll be around here!

January 29th, 2006, 10:38 PM
cool pictures your a good drawer but definitly better than me but i don't know either of those characters.....

January 30th, 2006, 2:27 PM

You really need to take a look at some anatomy tutorials. Something's not right when her legs are the same size all the way down and she has no knees. The poses are very mechanical, which also comes from not knowing how the body moves.

You also need to shade. The human body has many dips and contours, and no matter where light is coming from, there's going to by a myriad of colors in any given spot.

Keep practicing. If nothing else, you look like you're enjoying yourself, and that's the point in the end.

Cute. Good luck :)

Nice pics, Sunflorazumarill! ^^ I like your use of colour, it's very vibrant and adds to the tropical feel of the pictures. :D
I don't know if you're going for realistic or stylised anatomy, but if you're going for realistic, I think the limbs are a bit too straight and angular. There are lots of anatomy tutorials online that can help! :D

If you're going for stylised, that's no problem! ^^ As they are I think they look sort of like tribal art! :D I really like them!

February 1st, 2006, 9:51 AM

I stopped watching the new Advance episodes and havent played Pokemon XD, so Im not familiar with either of those girls. Perhaps you could do more popular characters, like Misty or May? That would be cool.

Your drawing style is pretty interesting. You seem to have a knack for rigid lines and vibrant colors. But I would agree with the others to read up on anatomy tutorials. Even better than that, make it tutorials on how to draw real people, not just anime. Even anime is heavily based off of realism and once youve got that down, you can greatly refine your drawing style. Theres no rush though, you have plenty of time to learn and grow and enjoy making art as you go.

February 2nd, 2006, 8:02 PM
ForestGrovyle and everyone else that visits: For the record, I go for stylised anatomy in my pics and are happy with drawing my lovely ladies that way. However, I always try to draw the person as she looks in the Anime. Also, I never thought of this series of pics as being some sort of tribal art. Aragornbird, I do plan on drawing Misty or May eventually. Well, enought of this chatter for now!

Well, it's time for me to unveil my next piece of art; Melody from Pokmon the Movie 2000! As you can see, Melody just got back from a luau on Shamouti Island and has decided to stand beside the cliff overlooking the island! The flowers that make up her hula outfit are based off her Festival Maiden outfit and I added an extra touch by putting in Slowking as well as showing part of the island's shrine. Now I need a good idea on who should put on a hula skirt next. In addition to comments on my pics, please give me an idea on another female Trainer I should do.

Oh, that's awesome! :D I love the cute Slowking in the background ^^ Yeah, I thought you were going for stylised art - it's great that you have your own style! :D I like the inclusion of things from the movie like the shrine in this picture! ^_^ This has to be my fave of the bunch so far! hehe!

--FG :)

February 3rd, 2006, 1:40 AM
maybe do one of the 3 flower sisters from the flower place outside rusboro

February 5th, 2006, 6:42 PM

Simpsonqueen, looks like you got your wish. The next Pokmon Anime female to be wearing a hula skirt is Nicole from "The Lotad Lowdown". Since she and her sisters run a flower shop, I put lots on flowers on Nicole's hula outfit. Also, I decided to give her face a kawaii blush look since she happens to be a little shy about being so scantly clad. I also made the beach a garden of rainbow flowers to make Nicole feel more comfortable as well as added a few Lotad (which may look a little off).

I'd like to hear your comments on Nicole's pretty look. Now I'll be trying to be in rush mode for my pics so expect another soon. I'm thinking of doing Chigusa next. Also, in the future, you might even see some female OC's of mine dressed to do the hula! Keep this topic going so that more pics can be brought in!

Can you save my request for whenever you have time? :)
- Could you have her either standing on Lapras in a lake, or have Lapras in a lake, behind her? :)
+ Blonde Hair
+ Blue Shoes
+ Pkmn: Lapras

All right! I can do OC's! In fact, I might even do yours this week! You never know!

Yay! Thankies so much. Your stuff is so amazing. (:

Once I get my scanner working, I might do some drawing.

ForestGrovyle and everyone else that visits: For the record, I go for stylised anatomy in my pics and are happy with drawing my lovely ladies that way.
Well, you can draw that way as long as we know you're capable of drawing the anime-realistic style. I used to draw like that too, only in a different styled style.
I'd suggest making the head either more shaped or round, the shoulders dont look exactly right for the style and well you're not bad for that style.
I think it's cool, although I'm getting used to it still

February 6th, 2006, 6:16 PM

Now that you have more work up, I can really see your interesting drawing style coming through. It’s like construction paper cut out and pasted together in a bright and colorful fashion. Pretty cool!
I agree with Clair though. The best thing for a young artist to do is experiment with a wide variety of styles and also draw a wide variety of different things.

February 11th, 2006, 8:28 AM

Silon, your wish has been granted! I went and did your request! Here's your blonde girl with blue shoes! I decided to spice things up and make her hula skirt really short. And I did remember to include Lapras as well. Since this is a request and there's nothing else to say, I'll try to get another pic finished and posted here before the end of the day, so remember to keep posting in here to see it.

February 11th, 2006, 11:34 AM
Wow! It's. AMAZING! *puts in sig as a link*

February 11th, 2006, 8:13 PM

OKay now! I have another pic to post tonight! This time it happens to be one of my favorite Pokémon characters, Trixie from "Love, Totodile Style!" She happens to be doing a hula performance out in the rain! I took the liberty of throwing in rainbow streamers and confetti to give the pic a performance persona. Also, I made numerous raindrops and rain splatters on the sand to indicate the rainy weather. For the Pokémon, Golduck can be hard to draw sometimes. Nothing else to say except there is a chance I could be real busy with pics next week to make up for lost time, so remember to keep this topic open!

February 13th, 2006, 8:30 PM

I'm sorry that I have to double post here, but I have another pic to post. This time, it's Liza's turn to be in a hula skirt and flowers! She just happens to be showing herself off on an island cliff with her Charizard, Charla. I dedicate this pic to Crystal Clair, who I wanted to post in here before I posted it. But it seems I can't wait any longer to show her this pic. Please try to keep posting in here so that more pics can be posted.

February 13th, 2006, 9:15 PM
Do Flannery! I command it! Or maybe, just MAYBE, you could do Sheena from ToS....
Anyway, these are great stylised art. The eyes are really good (I can NEVER get anime eyes right! >.<). Keep up the good work!

Crystal Clair
February 14th, 2006, 4:53 PM
I love it! Liza's so hot!
Sorry I didn't post sooner, only a few threads are on my top priority like the ones with the new Pokemon.
I may cgi that pic ^_~

February 18th, 2006, 8:08 PM

Dragon-Chan, your wish has been granted! Next up, Lavaridge Gym Leader Flannery! As you can see, Flannery has decied to try doing the hula... in front of an active island volcano! She's also trying her luck with tiki torches! This pic is for all you Flannery lovers and those of you who've wanted to see her in a very cool-looking hula skirt! Keep this thread alive with your comments, because I'm going to really try to produce more pics of this theme over time!

February 25th, 2006, 8:18 PM
Sorry for double posting once more and for waiting so long to do another pic, but there's a lot of things I do other than making these pics and sometimes I find it tough to do them. However, I plan on once again trying to step up production and get more pics done. I've also went and added a directory of my completed pics on the first page for quick and easy access. In fact, I've just done another pic tonight to show you guys!

This time, I've done Molly Hale from Pokémon 3 The Movie as an adult! What this most likely happens to be is that Molly is dreaming of herself in a hula skirt doing a hula dance and Entei's there to watch her. I based the scenery off of the "beach area" from Pokémon 3 The Movie. Now I don't want to stress too much, but help keep this topic alive so that I can continue to post more of my hula pics! In fact, there may be a chance I'll have another ready to post tomorrow!

Crystal Clair
February 25th, 2006, 8:34 PM
Wow! That's cool! The thing is, their eyes would be nicer looking if you didn't outline the white part, that makes them look dark.
Could you do Cassidy? For reference pics, just try google, she's an easy find. And maybe even Whitney... I could see it now. lots of pink
And btw, Flannery's hair is supposed to be more of a red.

February 25th, 2006, 8:39 PM
Lisa from Pokemon 3 would be cool. *ponder*

March 1st, 2006, 7:32 PM
Okay. Before I get to this next pic, I'll tell you that the three you requested will be coming up next. In other words, don't worry because I'll try to get to them and get them done for you guys. In fact, I may have a plan for what pics I'll be doing next. Just wait and see what pics I'll have in store for you after this one!

All right now! Here's my tenth pic! It happens to be Juliet from "Love at First Flight"! Now here's the scenario; Juliet and Romeo have gotten married and are spending their honeymoon in Hawaii. Juliet has decided to put on a vibrant hula skirt and perform her part of Illumise and Volbeat's Light Dance. You can see Illumise near her. (I may have messed up a little with Illumise's eyes.) Now before I close this pic's presentation, I have a little visual trivia question for you. In this pic above, what can you see on one of Juliet's right fingers that represents what she and Romeo have gone and done?

March 5th, 2006, 12:14 PM
Answer: A ring? I duun know what its for but I think its the ring.

Anyways, for your next request can you do Roxanne?

March 6th, 2006, 6:50 AM
Answer: A ring? I duun know what its for but I think its the ring.

Yes, it's Juliet's wedding ring. Watch the episode "Love at FIrst FLight" and you'll understand.

Now my next requests are Cassidy, Whitney, Lisa, and Roxanne. However, I've started and am working on a three-part pic that I plan on posting this week. I will get to those four requests right after. Let's just say that this pic trilogy I'm working on I hopw to look very cool. Who it consists of is a surprise. Try guessing who they are.

March 12th, 2006, 9:22 AM
All right now! I may have taken a while to get done, but it's finally finished! Now before I get to showing you my work, I should tell you a little about one of the Pokémon shown in these pics. It's name is Foresteon, and it's a Grass-type Eevee evolution of my own creation. You can find out some more great details about it in this (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showpost.php?p=1300755&postcount=9) post from my "Created Pokémon" thread. Now to unveil my next three pics:

Here it is! It's the Kimono Sisters that are dressed as hula dancers this time! These are actually revised versions of pics I've done almost two years ago (and posted here on Pokécommunity well over a year ago). Anyway, the Kimono Sisters are performing a combination of kimono and hula dancing. I also decided to throw in Sakura since it felt unfair to leave her out of the dance. I also added a cousion of the Kimono Sisters, who I'll name Laiyuri, to dance with Sakura. Laiyuri has a Foresteon (explained at the top of this post). Anyway, it was a little difficult adding in the Pokémon to the pics due to lack of room, but I suceeded in doing so.

For the record, the Kimono Sisters (minus Sakura and Laiyuri) dress up as hula girls for a contest in the Orange Islands in a fic of mine called "Orange Island Spring Break". Also, one last thing, you may notice Sasuki has on a wedding ring. That's because in my fics and to me, at sometime after Ash and friends visited the Kimono Sisters the second time, Sasuki married Morty and the two of them live together in her sisters' house. (I call this shipping "EcruteakShipping".) Now to top off this presentation of pics, can anyone guess the patterns of the Kimono Sisters' hula outfits?

March 14th, 2006, 8:00 AM
Cool! Foresteon looks like a mix between a flareon and a grass type almost but its not because of the shape. The ears are practically the only thing similar to Flareon but not even thats close enough XD

Also the pics are really awesome. I cant draw that well at all.

March 20th, 2006, 7:16 PM

Crystal Clair, I ended up finally doing one of your requests! I'm proud to present for my next female dressed as a hula dancer, Whitney! And as you requested, lots of pink! Whitney's simply on the beach in a pink hula skirt along with her Clefairy and Miltank (which may be a little off). Also, to reflect the Plain Badge, I made the beach scenery... plain. Now before I really go on my own here, I'll be doing my other three requests; Roxanne, Cassidy, and Lisa! Keep commenting on my pics!

April 8th, 2006, 6:08 PM
Sorry for being on hiatus with this topic for almost three weeks, but I got kind of lazy and was busy with lots of other things, like I usually do. To quote D.J. Qualls' character in "The Core", I multitask as you breathe. Anyway, I plan to really try to speed up production with making my pics and happen to have another one to present to you!

Next up in this series of pics happens to be Luka from the Whirl Islands! As you can see, Luka is trying on a teal hula skirt and sea-green lei as she stands near the water on the beaches of Red Rock Isle (hence the red cliffs in the background). Joining her are one of her Magikarp and the same Mantine she saw in "Mantine Overboard". Like to hear some nice comments on my latest pic and to keep this topic alive because I might just have a set of pics ready to post here sooner than you think!

April 11th, 2006, 6:35 AM
very nice...but why did you give a Magikarp?

April 11th, 2006, 7:22 PM

All right now! I happen to have another triple feature to post here! This time, it's Gary's cheerleaders dressed as hula dancers! These are also remakes of older pics I did of them almost two years ago. What the cheerleaders happen to be doing is that Gary has decided to have them perform in a hula contest in the Orange Island and as it turns out, they might do good. I had to limit their movement positions to standing and moving their arms but I did include their pompoms for each of them! I also decided to once again use vivid and verious colors for all three pics! Now I'd like to hear some replies on these new pics of mine and also would like to see if any of you can answer this! There happens to be a pattern with the cheerleaders' hula skirts, leis, flowers, and sandals. Just what is that pattern?

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~
April 12th, 2006, 3:12 PM
These are very nice. I love the last one the most

:t003:Dark Venusaur

April 14th, 2006, 10:32 PM
They are very pretty I wonder when Im gonna post mine!

April 30th, 2006, 7:41 PM

Sorry for the wait, but I've finally done another pic! This time, imagine Whillimena in a cocount bikini and hula skirt! Looks like Whillimena's tropical island vacation has been rained on, but she's decided to keep her Marill dry with her parasol. I also included a Masquerain in the pic as well, which Whillimena now has as well. I accidentaly used a red marker on Marill's tail, so that's why the color looks off. Anyway, I plan to release another pic by Tuesday, so please keep this topic open for me, especially since this next pic is one Crystal Clair will really like!

May 6th, 2006, 8:01 PM

Looks like I have another pic to show you! This time, it's one dedicated to Crystal Clair! Please say hello to Hula Clair! As you can see, Clair is wearing a hula skirt while standing in the lake with her Dragon Pokémon! I tried my best at replicating Clair's face and hair, but I think she still turned out nice. For the record, I found Gyarados hard to draw and that's why you may see noticeable imperfections with it. Anyway, I hope you like this pic of mine. I plan on having another one done in the next few days.

Crystal Clair
May 7th, 2006, 7:53 AM
Wow! Luka looks great
And Clair!
Wow! You did her! The only thing is I just couldn't see her baring so much skin
Hey, how about you draw characters in regular clothes?
I'd also cgi some of your art but I decided I was going to enter the art contest and I need time to cgi on the picture I drew.

May 20th, 2006, 5:39 PM

All right now! I have a double feature to post here! First, it's a remake of my original fan character, the beautiful hula dancer Floreia! Floreia was seen in my "Orange Islands Spring Break" (a fanfic that I never finished) and also "Aloha! Pokémon", which I consider one of my best fics. As you can, Floreia's dancing on a sunset beach along with her two Ludicolo. I happen to be quite proud of this latest pic of mine. However, that's not all. I have yet another pic to show.

Now it's time for Cissy in a hula skirt! As you can see, I based this pic of mine off of Gilbertman's pic of a hula Cissy (which I requested). Here, Cissy happens to be just standing on a Mikan Island beach wearing a hula skirt and coconut bra. I also decided to include Seadra and Blastoise as an homage to her. However, I may have messed up a little on the face. Anyway, I plan to try to get more pics down over the course of next week. Stay tuned to see them!

June 10th, 2006, 7:25 PM

Sorry for a 3 week wait, but I've done another pic. This time, it's a request someone made a while back that I finally did. I'm proud to present Hula Roxanne, who happens to be standing along with her Geodude and Nosepass. I went and made her hula skirt a jagged rock design and threw in a cliff background for "rocky" looks. I may just finish the other two requests given to me a while back (Lisa and Cassidy) before I get to any other pics I plan to do.

July 4th, 2006, 5:56 AM
TERRIBLY SORRY for yet another long wait, but to make up for it, I have managed to make three pics in only two days. I also plan on constantly working on pics to make up for lost time this week, so expect several more to appear over the next several days. Anyway, it's time to get to the three that I have already done. They all happen to be requests that I finally got around to doing and are to be presented to you right now.

First up is Lisa from the 3rd Pokémon movie. This pic was requested by Crimson Tears. Anyway, Lisa eneded up looking a little like an unamed original character in this pic, but I included Butterfree, Girafarig, and Quagsire along with her as she stands on a beach in a dark red hula skirt during her tropical vacation. Sadly, I have no more description for this pic since there doesn't seem to be anything else I need to include.

Second is Cassidy of Team Rocket. This pic was requested by Crystal Clair. I managed to capture Cassidy's devious look but may have messed up a little with her lipstick. I gave her hula outfit a dark Team Rocket look and included three of her Pokémon, Houndour, Sableye, and Tentacruel. I guess you can say Cassidy is going a little undercover on an island (even through the R on her hula skirt may give her away). I also made the scenery very dark to go with Team Rocket's dark nature.

Third happens to be May. This pic was requested by humantorch_anas. humantorch, even through you requested May to not wear a coconut bra or anything related, I don't do that kind of stuff and thus gave her something to keep her covered. Anyway, I based May's hula dress off of what she imagined herself wearing during a daydream she had in my fanfic, Aloha! Pokémon. Here, May happens to be on a tropical sunset stage along with her Pokémon. I included all the Pokémon she currently has with her (US wise). Squirtle wasn't with her when she went to Hawaii, but I included it anyway. Please remember to keep this topic alive and posted for me since as early as today or tomorrow I plan to start doing hula pics of a few original characters of my own.

July 4th, 2006, 6:58 AM
May looks cute, and Cassidy looks...scary...

July 6th, 2006, 7:17 AM
Before I get to this presentation, I need to inform you that I won't be taking requests until further notice so that I can complete pics that I've had my eye on for a while. Now that that's settled, I have two pics that I'm very proud of completing and am ready to post! These next two pics are of original characters of mine from a pair of Pokémon games I've thought up called Pokémon: Seasons and Pokémon: Ages. Pokémon Seasons and Ages are basically Pokémon versions of Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons & Oracle of Ages. In these games, you'll need to change seasons and travel through time in order to catch various Pokémon and progress through the game. Anyway, here are two Gym Leaders from these games that I have to show you.

This here is Flareeza, the final Gym Leader in Holodrum and Pokémon: Seasons. She resides in the Sword & Shield Maze and specializes in Fire-type and Ice-type Pokémon. Flareeza's title is "The hula beauty of the arctic inferno." Flareeza's known to have a fiery hot personality and an icy cold heart. She uses a full team of six Pokémon when you fight her. Her Pokémon are Jynx, Ninetales, Cloyster, Houndoom, Glalie, and Camerupt and likes to combo Fire attacks such as Fire Spin, Flamethrower, and Fire Blast with Ice attacks such as Icy WInd, Ice Beam, and Blizzard. Upon defeating her, she gives you the Pyrice Badge and a TM45 (Attract).

Flareeza is a stunning hula dancer whose dancing is said to rival that of Din's. Flareeza's more of an upbeat dancer, even in the heat of a volcano or the cold of a tundra. Her dancing is so energetic that her sparkling cold hula skirt is known to almost fall off from her ever-moving hips. Being the strongest Gym Leader in Holodrum, she decided to go down to the subterrean world of Subrosia and make challengers survive the ice floors and lava pools of the Sword & Shield Maze in order to challenge her.

This here is Aquariana, the sixth Gym Leader in Labrynna and Pokémon: Ages. She resides in the Mermaid's Cave and specializes in Water-type Pokémon. Aquariana's title is "The hula mermaid and aquatic diva of the deep blue sea." Aquariana's known to have docile personality and a cheerful demeanor. She uses five Pokémon when you fight her. Her Pokémon are Corsola, Lanturn, Ludicolo, Starmie, and Lapras and likes using Rain Dance along with Water-type attacks such as Water Pulse, Surf, and Hydro Pump as well as attacks such as Ice Beam and Thunder. Upon defeating her, she gives you the Aquarius Badge and a TM03 (Water Pulse).

Aquariana is a beautiful hula dancer and singer and is said to have a voice that is as enchanting as that of Nayru's. She is rumored to have descended from mermaids that lived in the Mermaid's Cave, although that is far from proven. Aquariana has astounding breath and swimming ability, said to be able to survive underwater for more than five minutes. She can even dive extremely deep, some say about 500 feet underwater, and is known to swim similar to a mermaid. Aquariana is also capable of talking and even singing underwater for minutes at a time. Her beautiful singing is known to reverbrate and enertain from the depths of the ocean.

Aquariana has been a skilled swimmer from birth and happens to have large and powerful lungs that allow her to perform such underwater activity. Sometimes, her lungs slightly protrude from her stomach area below her breasts, but are said to provide discomfort for her heart, which is pillowed in between her giant sacs. Her swimming ability is astounding and is said she gains amazing strength beneath the waves. Aquariana decided to wait in the back of the Mermaid's Cave, hoping for challengers to fathom the underwater passages of the dungeon. She even has her battles underwater, and can verbally command her Pokémon from a few dozen feet deep.

July 8th, 2006, 7:48 PM
I was hoping for a post on my two most recent pics, but I can't wait for any to post my next two. Now these two are two more fan characters of mine called Electra and Milane. Infro on both of them can be found here (http://pokegym.net/forums/showpost.php?p=519285&postcount=1). (If the link is not allowed, I'll remove it.) Now onto the pics!

First, it's Electra dressed in a yellow hula getup. As you can see she's standing on what looks like a yellow rock beach long with three of her Electric-type Pokémon; Raichu, Magneton, and Lanturn. To reflect the type, there are a lot of yellows in this pic. I also made the sky a sunset so that it involves yellow colors. Now onto the next pic.

Here, Milane's dressed in a short green hula skirt in hopes of attracting some guys over to her spot in tropical set of trees. The headband in her hair is actually part of her hula outfit as she normally doesn't wear one. Her Pokémon: Sunflora, Jumpluff, and Bellossom join her in her session. Now I'd like to see replies and comments on my four most recent pics because I have surprise set of pics planned for next time. Just who they are, you have to wait until later.

July 8th, 2006, 8:11 PM
That Cassidy scares me! it's definitely the red around the mouth but it's nothing that a little PSP editing cant fix ^_~
btw, Sunflora? I recommend you try drawing on a digital paint program like Paint. I bet if you practice and learn to shade there, you can be a really good artist. Your modern style doesn't look all it's glory scanned in and would look better on paint.....
Besides, I was like you in my mid anime years except I'd only draw chibi. Nothin' but chibi

July 29th, 2006, 8:32 PM
Sorry for yet another long wait, but I finall got around to doing more pics for this. Now for the surprise, I have three pics here of female characters from series other than Pokémon! More specifically, from the Legend of Zelda series! Now hopefully big fans of the series should remember these three below!

First up, we got Din, the Oracle of Seasons from Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons! Now to go with her hair and normal outfit, Din's hula skirt and flowers haven been given red colors. Also, to go with the theme of changing seasons, each quadrant of the pic represents a different season. Bottom is Spring, Left is Summer, Top is Autumn, and Right is Winter. Din also happens to be holding the Rod of Seasons in her left hand. Sadly, I messed up on her right leg in case you didn't notice. Also, for Pokémon sakes, I went and put in a Castform (goes with changing weather), and a Jirachi. Enough about Din, time to go to...

...Nayru, the Oracle of Ages from Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages! Nayru is wearing a blue hula skirt and flowers to match her blue hair. To go with the theme of traveling back through time, the left half depicts the Past while the right pic depicts the Present. I decided to replicate backgrounds from Sonic CD's Palmtree Panic (since that also involved time travel). Nayru is playing the Harp of Ages while standing next to two Pokémon, an Altaria, and a Celebi (goes with time travel). Looks like Nayru's time is done, now it's time to unveil...

...Marin from Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening! I put Marin is a typical hula skirt and flowers and gave her her harp to hold. I even went and added rainbow-colored notes around her as well as littered the beach sand with rainbow seashells of various shapes and sizes. I also had Marin dropping an aqua colored ribbon and threw in a Jigglypuff (goes with singing, Marin's favorite thing) and a Mew alongside a nice ocean scenery. Now remember to keep posting here because I have one more non-Pokémon girl to make and post for all you anime fans!

July 30th, 2006, 12:29 AM
Wow. Cool art. I like the one with Espeon in it.

August 20th, 2006, 2:05 PM

Guess what?! I have a new pic to post! This time, I did one more non-Pokémon character, and it just happens to be Haruhi Suzumiya from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya or the S.O.S. Brigade! I put Haruhi in a nice and attractive hula skirt and coconut bra and did my best on her hair and eyes. The flower in her hair is based of a pic of her and her two friends I found of deviantart (where you'll also find this pic). Also for Pokémon's sake, I decided to put in two Pokémon next to her! Those two Pokémon just happen to be Sunflorazumarill and her pre-evolution, Sunkarill! Next up on my list of hula pics, I plan on doing three Pokémon characters that haven't even shown up in the anime in the US yet, and they may be done sooner than you think!

September 4th, 2006, 6:26 PM
Well, Sunflorazumarill's back to show off yet another pic! This time, I've decided to do some female Pokémon characters that haven't even shown up in the Anime in the US yet! (They all have now been shown in the US.) Sit back and check out these four ladies!

First up, it's who we know Tiffiany, who just happens to be a little shy about dressing in an indigo hula skirt. Also, Tiffiany looks a little thin because she seems to have a tiny waist (as Gilbetman said). Since I have no idea what Pokémon she has (I don't know if she even has Pokémon of her own), I decided to put in a Venomoth and a Polited admist a background containing a coral reef.

Next up, it's Brianna, the female Pokémon Coordinator we'll be seeing later in one of May's Pokémon Contests! As you can see, Brianna's wearing a short light green hula skirt and a tropical looking headband. Since *spoiler* she has a crush on Drew *spoiler*, she's hoping he'll see her dressed like this. I added in her two Pokémon, a Surskit and Vibrava, and made the backdrop a unique wintery/tropical mix.

Third, it's Solidad, a top Pokémon Coordinator we'll be seeing in the Kanto Grand Festival. Solidad has put on a dark green hula skirt and dark blue flowers and is strutting her stuff on a night-lit beach. Two of her Pokémon, Slowbro and Pidgeot join her. Her other two, Lapras and Butterfree, are nowhere to be seen. Solidad's hula dress is also what she's been known to wear on a reality show called Survivor: Coordination.

Finally, it's Lizabeth, a girl we won't be seeing until the 9th Pokémon Movie: Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea. In this pic, Lizabeth's wearing a purple hula skirt and standing in water. There also happens to be two 4th Generation Pokémon from the movie with her; Mantyke, a Mantine pre-evolution, and Manaphy, the main Pokémon of the movie. Behind them happen to be some some water ruins. Also, since I'm not exactly sure around how old Lizabeth's supposed to be, I took a guess based on some pics at Pokésho (especially a certain beach pic). Hope to hear replies to these pics despite the downtimes we've been having here!

September 30th, 2006, 5:52 PM

TERRIBLY SORRY FOR THE WAIT, but I managed to make yet another pic! This time, I've done Johto Elite Four Member Karen! Now once again, her hula skirt and flowers are dark colored in order to match her Pokémon type preference. I also added three of her Pokémon, Umbreon, Houndoom, and Murkrow to the pic as well! About Murkrow and Umbreon's sizes, I guess in order to fit them into the pic, I distorted their sizes quite a bit between the two. I also added yet another night background to the pic. Now I can't make any promises, but I hope to make many more pics over time! Now I'd like to see more comments on my pics soon!

To the person who reported the post, the posts don't need merging, as it's a valid art bump (nobody is going to notice new art if it was last posted on Sept 5th). :) Art bumps within hours are not allowed, but if a thread has slipped off the first page and isn't a "month old" thread, it's okay to bump as long as you have new artwork.

I haven't seen many people draw Karen and I like your interpretation of her! The Houndoom seems a bit squashed and from that angle the left horn should be in front of the right horn, not the other way around. :) I really like the Murkrow though and the way you've done Karen's hair. ^_^

You always have a very unique style, keep it up!

October 4th, 2006, 5:18 PM

Guess what?! For my 40th hula pic, I decided to go and do none other than Erika, our favorite Grass Pokémon Gym Leader! As you can see, I kept Erika's coconut bra, grass hula skirt, and flower necklace simple, but pretty. In fact, this is what she wears during a scene in Aloha! Pokémon (http://www.theud.com/pokecommunity/showthread.php?t=61884) where Brock sings to the audience and Erika helps him out with his song. This is just one of a few pictures they took while in Hawaii. For the record, during this time, Brock was watching two Hawaiian hula dancers through binoculars and constantly saying "Hula Girls!" (Think Freakazoid). Erika is also joined by her Advance Generation team of Gloom, Victreebel, Plantplug, and Kirlia. (Plantplug can be found here (http://www.theud.com/pokecommunity/showthread.php?t=42035).) I'm not going to spoil anything about my next pics. Just keep posting comments here and I'll see you again some other time!

October 4th, 2006, 5:55 PM
No offense, but you have a lot of anatomy issues. People are not shaped like sticks. They are curvy, not blocky. You need to work on a lot and I'd be willing to help you.

October 15th, 2006, 9:05 AM

All right! I have made yet another pic to showcase here! Welcoming out 47th member of the Pokémon Hula Club, I bring you Sonrisa, our favorite Gardener from the Pokémon Johto Episode "Grin to Win"! In this pic, Sonrisa and her three Sunflora are having a nice time on the beach with Sonrisa's hair down and her wearing a light green hula skirt, a necklace of nice flowers, and a summer hat complete with a ribbon and flower. Also, she's brought a large basket of vegetables to make a nice vegetable salad lunch after she's done dancing. In the main part of the basket are from left to right; romaine lettuce, green onions, tomatoes, lemons, limes, turnips, parsley, and onions, with the basket lined with lettuce leaves. In the front pocket are other salad ingredients from left to right; salad vinegar, vegetable oil, vinaigrette dressing, and a lemon squeezer, with the pocket lined with a red checkered blanket. In the back pocket (not seen) is supposed to be a salt shaker, pepper shaker, salad tongs, forks, spoons, knives, napkins, a cutting board, and retractable bowls, 4 small and one large. In other words, Sonrisa and her Pokémon are well prepared for a healthy salad. Well, I plan on getting more pics donw over time, so stay tuned and post your comments here.

October 20th, 2006, 6:39 AM
I have two new pics to show you! Warning though. They're people from the next new Pokémon episode premeiring tomorrow!

In honor of the Battle Pike episode of Pokémon premeiring tomorrow morning and the fact that I got pics of them from Unown, I decided to go and draw each of Lucy's assistants in hula outfits! Now unlike other luaus I've shown you, the girls here wear their hula skirts low where you can see their hips. Also, they still carry the "bad" attitude they tend to have. The first two are actually guarding the way to Lucy's luau and are even holding large spears! If you get beyond the gate, you'll then find Lucy's sister, Barbara and the battle judge. The judge was going a torch dance before I walked in on her. She's supposed to be on her knees, but the grass skirt blocks the upper part of her legs. Barbara doesn't seem happy to see me and has an angry look on her face. I made a few mistakes when making these pics, but I hoped they turned out okay. For all I know, I might do Lucy herself next! Please comment on my pics, though!

October 20th, 2006, 6:53 AM
Lucy would make a pretty hula girl...

October 26th, 2006, 5:29 PM

Crystal Clair, you gave this one as one of your suggestions to me when I was coming to post such a one anyway! Okay! To complete the Battle Pike circle, I've went and done Lucy! This is what Barbara and the other girls were trying to keep you from seeing! Lucy's holding up flamin' spinnin' metal flowers and she's wither her Seviper and Milotic. If you've noticed, her hula skirt is modeled after Seviper, just like her normal outfit! Like to hear more comments on these pics becuase I plan to churn out even more!

November 13th, 2006, 7:52 AM

Sorry for the wait, but I've gotten back into doing more hula pics, and who better to do one of than our favorite Water Pokémon Trainer Misty! I based this hula pic of her off of A-one's pic here (http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b250/AJ-one/hula.jpg)! However, I went and included several of her Pokémon in the pic as well! To make things even more interesting, it's very likely my next pic will be of "Hikari" in a hula skirt! Please reply here to make sure that pic gets here!

I have a suggestion for your artwork that is rather easy.
What kind opf markers do you use?
If you dont use them already, I recommend sharpie markers, they color in so there are no streaks. And lately if you go to your local store that has stuff like that, they sell all different colors. At my local store, I found nearly all the colors of the rainbow.
They may make your work look more like it's supposed to look.

November 19th, 2006, 12:55 PM

As a special treat to this series, I am proud to present to you Hula Hikari! As my 46th hula pic, I decided to go and put Hikari in a hula skirt and flowers! If you notice, I put her hair down because when dressed like this, the outfit goes better with her. Also, as an homage to Diamond/Pearl, I went and thrown in the D/P Starters, Naetle, Hikozaru, and of course, Pochama. However, her other Pokémon would have been included but wasn't because I couldn't find any art for it. Anyway, please comment on this pic of mine and what you think of Hula Hikari!

Crystal Clair
November 21st, 2006, 7:34 PM
Nicely done! I hope you take my advice and try to use Sharpies, because if you do, it certainly doesn't look like it. Unless you're using Prismatics or one of those fancy kinds.
What would you think if your artwork looked more bright?

December 10th, 2006, 5:37 PM

Well, I managed to do another pic! This time, I put Trinity in a hula skirt, and I don't mean Trinity from the Matrix movies, but from the Whirl Cup! Since she has a unique ponytail, I decided to add a couple tropical flowers it it. Also, I included two of her Pokémon, Chinchou and Golduck, but there's was no more room for Gyarados, so I left it out. I also based the scenery on what is most likely Blue Rock Isle. Also, I made Golduck look a lot better that in my Trixie Hula pic. I might be making another pic and have it ready by tomorrow, so remember to keep posting here.

December 23rd, 2006, 8:05 PM

Sorry it took too long, but I finally got another pic done! This time, I decided to do one of Chigusa in a hula skirt! Also, for a twist, I decided to make her doing a cartwheel while next to her Hitmontop, who's next to her. Now to make sure there's nothing wrong with Hitmontop, the center leg is its leg! There really isn't anything else to decribe about this pic. However, in honor of this time of the year, can anybody say a Christmas based hula pic?! Please post and comment here so I can post it!

December 24th, 2006, 11:26 AM
Very nice! Your pix are always good!

December 24th, 2006, 12:55 PM

Now I got a special treat for you since it's Christmas! It's Eri Sawachika from School Rumble as a hula dancer! Also, I made this a Christmas pic as well due to it being Christmas Eve! I tried my best at drawing Eri Sawachika and I think she turned out great! Joining her on this Hawaiian Christmas (makes sense) are Sunkarill and Sunflorazumarill! I added Christmas flair to the pic by putting Christmas lights on the palm tree and adding lots of presents, including a Sunflorazumarill plushie and one of those hula dancer dolls. I hope this pic adds to your Christmas enjoyment, so please post you comments on it!

^ her eyes scare me
Sorry your scanner is broken. You know, if you tried MSPaint, you wouldn't need to do a scanner.

I love Chigusa soooooo much. She came out pwnsome too!
I'd post requests but I dont wanna pressure you cuz of your scanner

February 10th, 2007, 7:51 PM
Okay, I like your drawings and keep up your good work! I'm looking foward to seeing some of my favourites done by you as well as Gilbertman's.

February 17th, 2007, 4:07 PM
Sorry for the eight-week wait for more pics, but my printer shorted out when I was planning to scan a pic of my Pokémon and I just got another printer installed for the time being. For the record, any pics that I scan with this printer appear more lighted than than my past pics, but tend to be the same as the others. Anyway, I'm proud to unveil my 50th hula pic!

Several months ago, I did pics of Din and Nayru from the Ocracle games in the Legend of Zelda series. I've decided to finally complete the Oracle triad with a pic of Farore, the ORacle of Secrets, in a hula skirt. As you can tell, I let Farore's hair down since her large buns would clash with the outfit. Since this is also a Pokémon, pic, I also added two Pokémon; Unown (who I just happened to make the "F" variation of), and a Diamond/Pearl legendary, Shemi. Anyway, I'm going to take my hula pics in a sexier (position concept) direction and do sexier hula pics of females I've already done, consisting of such things as bigger and lower hula skirts (about the level where their hips can be seen), bigger flowers, and doing more risky stunts (mainly fire dances). Be prepared for the first of these, a second hula pic of Samantha doing a fire ribbon dance under a blazing sunset.

February 18th, 2007, 3:31 PM

Guess what I've just finished?! Like I said, I decided to attempt a sexier pic of Samantha in a hula skirt! As you should know, she was my first for this series of mine, and I decided to go and hopefully make her better in a sexy sendup of what I'm doing! As you can see, Samantha has added fiery flair to her hula ribbon dance, by using fiery ribbons! I went and made the flames engulfing each of them different colors. I hope I didn't go overboard with the ribbons. Anyway, I made her hula skirt bigger and lower and added flowers to the rim exposing her hips. Also, she's supposed to be leaning a little to the left (that was my intention). I tried my best on her hands in the position she's holding the ribbons with, but I think they're okay. The flowers making up her necklace have been made bigger and nicer as well, and this time, I made Samantha's hair look nice as well as her eyes (which are in a sexy pose). On the ground are supposed to be mini tiki torches to give her dance a more fire appeal. I hope to hear your comments on this pic of mine! I plan on making another hula pic like this very soon. It might even be a second part to this hula dance of Samantha's!

February 19th, 2007, 6:07 PM

Since no one else has posted yet, I'm making a triple post to post my next hula pic! Next in my "sexy hula girl" sub-series, I've gone and done one of my favorite females, Trixie, wearing a large hula skirt low enough to show her hips, multi-colored flowers around her neck, wrists, and ankles, and twirling two large, flaming batons. As was the case with Samantha, I put Trixie's eyes in a sexy pose and I also added small flame trails to her batons to show the directions she's spinning them in. As you can see, Trixie's not afraid to show off her body or take risks involving fire dancing stunts. This is still only the second pic of this sub-series I'm doing! Maybe even tomorrow, I'll have someone else posted doing something like this! Later, I may even have a second part to Trixie's fire hula dance!

Your 50th hula pic is really green and pretty.
I have an idea. You could make color-themed pics.
btw, what did you do to the last two girls' eyes? They look kinda drunk/tired.
btw, have you done Jessie, Deliah and Miyamoto yet? I know Deliah's a little old but you should do the mothers.
btw, this new scanner thingie is making your pics look much brighter, and better... unfortunately the colors aren't as smooth but hey, it's an interesting change.

February 21st, 2007, 8:56 PM

Well, I just finished yet another sexy hula pic, and this time, it's my favorite Orange Islands character, Cissy! This time, she's wearing a much larger hula skirt and better looking flowers! Also, she's taking the risk with juggling large flame wheels, and so yoy know she's okay, she's capable of holding onto the burning wheels, despite possibly getting 2nd degree burns. Also, I added a small flame stage for her to practice her acr hula skills on. Also, the eyes I'm giving them are actually what I call "sexy seductive looks". It's either that or they're tired after hours of vigorous dancing. Anyway, there's a possibility of one more hula dancer I'm going to draw like this and anothe rpossibility of second pics of them, so stay tuned and comment on these pics!

February 22nd, 2007, 12:04 AM
man its been awhile since ive seen your drawings, and i have to say looking good, youve improved vastly since you began, always loved the hula theme, a nice unique take on characters we know and love, and i really love the backgrounds, so keep up the good work

February 25th, 2007, 6:24 PM

Well, I've completed one more sexy hula pic, and it happens to be one of my fan-made hula dancer, Floreia! As a neat theme, she's the Rainbow Princess and giving us a fiery dance! In addition to holding up fiery leaves, she's also spinning a hula hoop around her hips beneath her hula skirt! I decided to make her entire outfit rainbow at the last minute, but I hope it's okay! Sadly, I'm stepping down from the sexy hula pic tear and going back to typical ones! I hope to hear more comments on my pics so that I can post more!

That is one weird skirt that girl is wearing! But it's actually kinda pretty.
It's great you're leaving the Hula girls, they were getting real repetitive
Are you ever gonna do any guys? Please answer too, it seems you ignore most of my questions. :\

March 24th, 2007, 4:21 PM
No, I'm not going to do any guys. Females look much better in hula outfits to me anyway. I may have said that I decided to end the sexy hula mini-series, but it looks like I got back into the swing of things for a few more pics.

And for my next, I decided to do a sexy hula pic of Liza! Much better than the last one of her I did, I gave her a larger and lower hula skirt that exposes her hips and decided to have her twirl two fire geyser batons in her hands. Once again, I put Liza's eyes in a sexy seductive pose and I also added cinders around the flames to make them look cooler and also a fire arena that Liza's is doing her fire hula dance in. I hope to hear some good comments from you on my most recent pic because I'm planning on churning out three more like this very soon!

That Liza picture is very interesting. You did her hair perfect though. It has that spike to it
btw, when I said guys, I didn't mean in hula costumes, just normal (wanted to clear that up)
However, I think Brock or James would look good in one *dodges tomatoes*
btw, that style you used for her head, stick with it, it's the best head shape I've ever seen you do.
7.5/10 - you surprised me on this new one. I cant wait to see more.

Well, I've already done another sexy hula pic, and this time, the person is one of my fan characters, Electra! Info on her can be found here (http://pokegym.net/forums/showpost.php?p=519285&postcount=1). (If the link is not allowed, I'll remove it.). As you can see here, Electra is this tiem wearing a much larger and lower hula skirt and showing off her moves with twirling sparkler crosses and spinning a large fire hula hoop around her bare hips (despite her hip area may get a burn ring). Once again, I've made Electra's eyes sexy and seductive and also made her hair flow to the right, and I decided to keep her glasses on her head while she continues to do her sexy fuery hula dance. I hope to hear more comments on this pic because next up, I plan on doing yet another fan character!

March 29th, 2007, 7:58 PM

Well, I've just finished another hula pic, and this time, it's another fan character of mine, Milane! Info on her can be found here (http://pokegym.net/forums/showpost.php?p=519285&postcount=1). (If the link is not allowed, I'll remove it.) Anyway, Milane's gotten into the sexy fire hula dance fad and has decided to wave around some sort of "fire fan" in each hand. Also, for a real kicker, she's doing a fire-breathing dance in the process. (That's what's coming out of her mouth.) Her secret to breathing fire, I'm not telling! Once again, her eyes are in a sexy seductive pose and her hula skirt is larger and lower than before! I really like to hear comments on these pics because as soon as tomorrow, I plan on doing one more sexy hula pic of one of my favorite characters!

March 30th, 2007, 7:19 PM

Well, I don't mean to triple post, but I've gone and finished another sexy hula pic as well! This time, I decided to do none other than my favorite Gym Leader Erika! Once again, Erika's wearing a larger and lower hula skirt and is doing a sexy fire hula fan dance! I think she should slways wear her headband, so she's wearing it in this picture! She also has her eyes in a sexy seductive pose and I made her hair look much better! Also, she's using fire flower fans for a nice effect and is standing in the middle of a fire ring! Anyway, I'm stepping down from the sexy hula mini-series and am going back to more typical hula pics. In the next couple daya, I hope to have another ready for you to see!

I love your style. It's very unique!

April 14th, 2007, 6:09 PM

Well, I've gone back to more typical hula pics now, and I've decided to don one of another character I thought up. This here is Plasmae, who happens to be the leader of a group me and another person thought up called Team Plasma. To find out more about Team Plasma you can look here (http://pokegym.net/forums/showthread.php?t=30702). Anyway, I put Plasmae in an orange-yellow hula skirt and gave her two laser flowers to spin around (The yellow lines shooting out of the flower petals are lasers.) I also went and included such things as lightning flowers in her hair and on her wrists and a flower necklace of the same colors. I also included two of her always used Pokémon, Manectric (Team Plasma's signature Pokémon) and Mightyena (a Pokémon widely used by these teams). Also, for the scenery, it's supposed to be inside of their current base, which she has set up in a tropical setting room. For the record about the area, the palm tree in there is actually a 3-dimensional electronic hologram; the bush is a hologram as well. Also, the water you see isn't water, but liquid electricity. Enough of the pic here, as I also included some detailed info on Plasmae and Team Plasma below.

Name: Plasmae
Debut: Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire
Gender: Female
Age: 30’s
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 130.0 lbs
Hair: Magenta
Eyes: Blue
Blood Type: AB-
Home: Unknown
Occupation: Team Plasma Leader
Alignment: Dark
Description: The leader of Team Plasma, Plasmae was once a young, brilliant scientist in the fields of laser refraction and plasma technology for the Hoenn Laser Institute. She created many devices and machines that harnessed the power of high plasma energy. She seemed to be able to create endless numbers of such machines without the need for funding from the Institute. However, she eventually was discovered to have sold her technology to small criminal organizations to pay for her later creations. While they didn’t have enough to put her in prison, Plasmae was expelled from the Institute. After being barred from there, Plasmae decided to put in motion a plan she once presented to the Institute, a plan that involved Kyogre’s ability to create powerful electrical storms through the torrents it can create. Forming a group along with several people she hired, Plasmae decided to carry out her vision of achieving this. She’s been leading Team Plasma on this goal and several other smaller plans she’s devised.

Name: Team Plasma
Debut: Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire
Alignment: Dark
Description: Team Plasma is one of the villainous teams to be found in Hoenn. They hope to use the storm causing powers of Kyogre to harness the electricity from the storm clouds and greatly increase electrical activity all around the world. They prefer to use a variety of Electric type Pokémon and build large power plants, electric stations, and energy reactors sometimes in or beneath large cities. And as you may expect, Team Plasma has countless dozens of high-tech robots all armed with infinite amounts of electric, laser, and plasma weapons to help out the Grunts. Team Plasma personnel are also experts in the field of laser technology, amplification, refraction, and reflection. They have also managed to copy the formula for Lightanium, a metal alloy that converts small plasma into much larger amounts, and are known to sell Lightanium rods on the international black market.

Maybe...you should try to not have your drawings look like paper dolls, and shading them with something other than crayons would be cool too.

I would suggest looking at some how to draw sites about anime and manga.

April 19th, 2007, 6:57 PM

Well, I've finally managed to finish another hula pic and I'm proud to post it! Now I've done the leader of another group a friend of mine thought up called Team Draco! For more information on Team Draco, check out here (http://www.pokegym.net/forums/showthread.php?t=35511). Anyway, onto the pic. I put Dralene in a teal-colored hula skirt that also includes a shorter green-and-blue "overskirt" attachment. I also suited her hair and necklace with rainbow-colored flowers. For hula tools, I gave her two space-age rainbow-colored energy flowers for her to hold. The colors on each part of the flower constantly shift from the inner colors to the outer colors and constantly give off spinning rainbow energy rings. I also included two of her always used Pokémon, Altaria (Team Draco's signature Pokémon) and Mightyena (a Pokémon widely used by these teams). For the scenery, Dralene's in her current space base, more specifically, in the massive greenhouse attachment. In addition to the tropical lake, palm trees, and other island scenery included in the area, you can see outer space and the earth beyond a massive glass wall. I hope I made the earth look all right. Remember to post comments on this pic so that I can in a day or two post another. Enough about the pic for now, as I have information on Dralene and Team Draco below.

Name: Dralene
Debut: Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
Gender: Female
Age: 30’s
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 125.0 lbs
Hair: Teal
Eyes: Navy
Blood Type: 0+
Home: Unknown
Occupation: Team Draco Leader
Alignment: Dark
Description: The leader of Team Draco, Dralene once owned a Swablu ranch. Eventually, Dralene became obsessed with Rayquaza and its ability to stabilize the weather. Eventually, she purchased various space equipment and turned her ranch personnel into Team Draco. She then went into space, where she plans out various schemes to capture and use Rayquaza. She is also an expert and energy concentration and harnessing. She’s also developed various kinds of space technology, including space lasers, liquid energy, weather control, surveillance satellites, space transport, and many other kinds. The only problem is that she’s sometimes too busy to carry our her plans as soon as other organizations, but her plans are the biggest and her weaponry is quite immense, making her a force to be reckoned with.

Name: Team Draco
Debut: Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
Alignment: Dark
Description: Team Draco is a villainous team once unknown, but has quickly made their presence known. This team, led by a woman named Dralene, specializes mainly in Dragon-types and Pokémon in the Dragon egg group. The Pokémon Dralene covets most isn't Kyogre or Groudon, but Rayquaza, and Dralene strives to put the world under climate control with Rayquaza's Air Lock. The members of the team had previously been ranchers at a Swablu ranch owned by Dralene, a ranch that raises Swablu and Altaria for multipurpose use. Once Dralene became enamored by Rayquaza, she purchased a rocket, an orbiter, and a space station attachment. Once everything was prepared, Dralene, the assistants, and the ranch hands boarded the rocket and blasted off into outer space, where Team Draco now run their main operations, abandoning the ranch in the process. Dralene's personal assistants are the team's admins, while the ranch hands are the team's grunts. In addition to the bases they started off using, Team Draco also builds countless space stations, laboratories, and fortresses to house their operations in. Like the other teams, Team Draco has built squadrons of robots based off of Dragon Pokémon, but because Dralene and Team Draco’s scientists are geniuses in the field of energy formatting and concentration, their robots are equipped with energy and space technology that may even surpass that of such people as Eggman (from the Sonic games).

Well, I got another pic ready to show you, and it's quite a surprise! I've went and done Shirona/Cynthia, the Sinnoh League Champion as a hula dancer! As you see here, I put Shirona in a low hula skirt that exposes her hips and is dark green with dark red flowers lining the rim and a dark blue flower necklace. I also gave her two large flower fans of the same colors for her to wave around. I also decided to keep those clips in her hair as well and drew in two of her Pokémon, Spiritomb and Garchomp. There may be a few mistakes in this pic, such as with Shirona's breasts and and I accidentaly colored two of Garchomp's leg spikes the color of the ocean and rock wall. Hopefully, this pic turned out good. I don't know who I'll do next or when, but I'll eventually have another hula pic to post here. Please tell me what you think about Hula Shirona!

May 20th, 2007, 6:50 PM
Hey, I have an idea for your future hula girls pictures. How about you can look back in my art thread which went poof and look at the drawings I did that is in the Light Girl part. You can do hula girls out of those. It's fine with me.
I'm cool with it. As always.

May 20th, 2007, 7:41 PM

Well, just before this topic becomes a month old and would have to be locked, I have finished another pic. Actually, this is just a test pic to show if I'm ready to go back to more hula pics. It's just a generic hula dancer as seen in my fic, Aloha! Pokémon. There's no Pokémon with her, but to add a Hawaiian touch, there's a large volcano in the scenery and also a cruse ship in the water going by it. I'm afraid I don't have anything else to say about this pic, but I'm going to keep this topic going for as long as I like. Also, dannichols, hate to burst your bubble, but Im not sure if I'm up to doing the "Light Girl" pics you requested, but I have other girls I'm more likely to draw.

I have a few more pics to post, including a possible "Hula Battle" min-series based on something I found on a serebii.net topic I'm calling "Swimsuit Battle". Here are the pics involving that "battle" (sources are unknown to me):

I hope to in some way replicate the pics above with six different kinds of hula outfits. Remember to post your comments on my latest pic here (even though this pic may not be considered my best), and you may see this "Hula Battle" soon!

I really like it the colors alot more, the one under this one is my favorite of all of yours because it has one of my favorite Pokemon Spirtomb and Garchomp. Also Cynthia one of my favorite people in the game

May 27th, 2007, 5:33 PM
Well, here's something kinda neat I've started on! Remember when I said something about finding a thing I call "Swimsuit Battle"? Well, I looked at those six pics and I got to thinking of trying to draw those two girls in various hula outfits! Well, the first two are ready to be seen and are posted below, along with refernce pics to show you who the two girls are (I don't know where they're from. Maybe one of could tell me who they are.):

I hope to see some nice comments on them, because I have four more pics like this to make and post as well!

May 28th, 2007, 3:46 AM
I think you should practice drawing.

I have watched this thread from the sidelines...and it's just... Your hula girls do not have joints. They are made out of lines, and look like they've been colored in by crayon. Not trying to be rude or flame at all, I just think that taking some constructive criticism would be good. Right now the drawings look unrealistic and flat.

The 2 girls can possibley be Daisy and Violet?

About my last post here, It wasn't a request. It was a suggestion. I was just trying to give you some ideas. That's all.

July 18th, 2007, 6:38 PM
TERRIBLY SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING THIS TOPIC IN SO LONG!!! THE THING IS I'VE BEEN WORKING ON A LOT OF OTHER STUFF AND HAVEN'T FOUND THE TIME TO DO MORE PICS! Anyway, I'm going to pick up where I've left off and post another pic of my "Hula Battle" series. Here it is.

Reference Pic: http://home.hccnet.nl/w.k.schipper/swimsuit_battle_02.jpg

As you can tell, I put her in a lower-hanging blue hula skirt this time and put her in a different pose. The scenery is also blue to match the color of her skirt. I may have messed up on her head however. I also plan on drawing a pic of her blond counterpart to go with her in this particular post. Hopefully, starting next week, I'll get back into going hula pics full force.

July 23rd, 2007, 11:09 PM
Do your parents think anything wierd about you drawing these? Anyways, the pictures are weird, they look like robots.

August 7th, 2007, 7:20 PM
TERRIBLY SORRY FOR SUCH A LONG WAIT DURING THIS SUMMER, BUT I HAD A LOT OF OTHER THINGS TO DO! Well, I decided to put the "Hula Battle" idea on hold for a while and instead start up some more hula pics! I've decided that I'm going to do more than just girls from the Pokémon Anime and have started on doing females from other shows! Before I get to the first of these, she happens to be a character from Fairly Oddparents. Can you guess who?

It's Trixie Tang, the rich and popular girl of Dimsdale Elementary, and the eye of Timmy's affection! To avoid confusion with Trixie from the Pokémon Anime (who I also really like), this one is Trixie from Fairly Oddparents. I call this pic "Trixie Tang: Hula Dancer". As you can see, Trixie's wearing a typical grass hula skirt, cocount bra, and flower necklace. I managed to put her arms in a nice-looking hula sway position and her legs in a bending position in the same direction. What I'm really proud of is her face and hair, which I managed to replicate almost exactly to how she looks in the show. I also didn't forget her headband in her hair as well. (It's color actually goes a little with her flower lei.) Also, as an added treat, I put in a Shellder and Shellos, but look at them closely and you'll notice they're not what they seem. In fact, look at the Shellder and what he's looking at. Also, look at the bush as you'll notice a certain someone watching Trixie do the hula. Well, this won't be the last of Nicktoon characters I'm putting in hula outfits, here's what next:

Fairly Oddparents
Timmy's Mom?

Danny Phantom

Also, becore commenting on this pic, Trixie has somethine to say to you.

"Tell me I'm pretty, in fact, the prettiest hula girl you've seen, better than that other Trixie, and even better that that Floreia."

August 19th, 2007, 6:31 PM

Continuing my current sub-set in my hula pic series, which consists of girls from the Nicktoons the Fairly Oddparents and Danny Phantom, I have another pic to present, and this time, it's Veronica Star, the second-most popular girl in Dimsdale Elementary and Trixie Tang's supposed BFF! This pic is called "Veronica Star: Hula Cheerleader". As you can see, Veronica happens to be wearing a grass skirt, coconut bra, and flower lei similar to Trixie's. I kind of cheated on the pose for her, though, just tracing Trixie's hula pose backwards. Also, this pic is meant to connect to the one of Trixie from earlier and can be looked at as a hula duet between Trixie and Veronica. Also, if you're wondering about the orange octopus in the pic, it's Vivian, a fairy OC for Veronica created by VeronicaFan (http://veronicafan.deviantart.com/). You should look at Vivian, however, and he might be doing something that's a little naughty. Anyway, here's the rest of the Nicktoon hula pics I have planned:

Fairly Oddparents

Danny Phantom
Danielle (Dani)

Also, becore commenting on this pic, Veronica has something to say to you.

"Why are you looking at Trixie? I should be the one getting the applause?! Why is it only Trixie that's considered a hula girl?!"
