This is the newest one I've got.

The Locket

I awoke to an ear-splitting silence
Staring lonely at the ceiling in dismay
Wishing I knew how to tell them
Everything my heart has longed to say

In the silence, there’s an angel
He’s from heaven up above
Brought me a gift wrapped in a parcel
Brought down a locket forged in love

Says the people there, they saw him
Called out his name, screamed “Kill the witch!”
Their hateful wishes, so appalling
Nobility thrown in the ditch

Then, the people there, they took him
Strapped him to a plank of wood
Trapped to the earth, there lies a memory
Where that hateful plank once stood

Every night she’s by the window
Mother cries for her lost son
He’s the one that made it change, though
We march forward now as one.

In Loving Memory

Thank you for listening.

And to my LGBT brothers and sisters...I'm sorry about the past.

I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into making this poem. I wish I could write a poem as good as this. >_> Great work, and I look forward to seeing more.
