The Department of Motor Vehicles

I went to go take my permit test today. I live in Pennsylvania and have spent portions of the past two weeks studying my PA Driver's Manual. When we get through the first set of doors, we see a sign. Turns out they won't accept cash, only checks/money orders. So we get into the building and in line, my dad has to go all the way back to the post office by my house (turns out he could've gone to the supermarket right down the road and get a money order.) I wait about an hour for him to come back.

Then when he finally comes back, we get back into line and when we reach the table, it turns out I need to have a doctor's visit to even take my permit test!

Yeah, my dad wasn't too happy leaving.

Now I need to schedule a doctor's visit and try to take my permit test, which I never even took today!

That seems quite ridiculous first they don't accept cash(which I think anyone would). Then you need a psychical or sorts. The long lines, crappy service, and horrible availability times are bad enough, but that on top of everything would make me quite pissed. I went to the DMV in Oklahoma a long time ago and they were all "Sorry our computers aren't operating state wide today you are going to have to come back again at a later date." I was thinking "thanks for wasting our time, and gas money driving all the way out here". Kind of like how you were probably thinking "why didn't they tell us before hand we needed a doctor check up". DMV has got to be some of the worst state agencies across the nation. As far as the permit test a lot of stuff probably won't even apply to your every day driving and is really common sense. Anyways good luck to whenever you do get around to taking it.
