2012 brings new things to discover as well as uncertainty about the future. It also brings more of that 2012 doomsday BS that has been running rampant the past few years, despite common sense and scientists actually proving that the predicted Mayan doomsday will not happen! But that still doesn't stop idiots like Discovery Channel, History Channel, Patrick Geryl and other morons from continuing to shove their doomsday shows and books down our throats!

Since the world will end in 356 days from now (we are in a leap year, so we have the 29th of February), I've decided to have my own fun with this "phenomenon". Don't worry, I'm not going to talk about how the earth will suddenly reverse its magnetic fields or anything like that. I lack the intelligence to make sense of that stuff.

The reason for this title if I'm not going to talk about 2012? A certain 80's song that critics think is probably the worst song in history.

Anime Boston 2009, my job, paranoia, Obama and the Economy

Posted January 14th, 2009 at 10:41 PM by Mario The World Champion

Welcome to 2009! We would like to start the year by NOT laying you off. Instead, please accept a 4 hour reduction of your work week.

The U.S. Economy is really kicking everybody when they are down. And it's even affecting my job. I work at a tube place and after the new year started, we were told by the higher ups that in an effort to not lay off people, but keep costs down, the plant is going to go to a 36 hour work week. Meaning, we lose 4 hours of pay, but we still keep our jobs. The higher ups are optimistic that business for us will pick up in a couple of months, but already people have become super paranoid about what will happen the next day. I've heard about layoffs, more work week deduction, losing a break and other crap. I'm trying my best not to let it get to me, so I'm going to go with the route the higher ups are taking about business will pick up. And if there are any layoffs, please layoff the people who have been *****ing and moaning about being laid off!!!

With all the stuff going on at work, my preparations for my yearly trip to Anime Boston 2009 MIGHT be affected if business doesn't pick up!! I'm doing the whole hotel thing and staying in Boston for the con, so that means I got to save up a lot of money for that. Right now, I'm about $400 into my quest. So, with all the talk about layoffs at work, I'm going to save up as much money as I possibly CAN!!!! I want to hit $1800 before the con or before I am laid off at my job. I may have to ask a few people for some money that they owe me just to get to that level if I am laid off. I HATE asking people for money! That's taboo in my eyes.

If I miss Anime Boston 2009, I will kill myself!!! I HAVE TO GO!!!!!!

Barack Obama will take office next week and I pray to God that he'll do SOMETHING to get the economy back on track before anything else happens!!! We need jobs for the people who lost them, so they can get back their feet and help revive the economy. Heck, just stop the downward spiral and prevent more jobs from being lost!!!!!! Obama!! PLEASE DO SOMETHING!!!!!!! PASS THAT STIMULUS BILL YOU PROMISED!!!!!!!

This is a real nice way to start 2009. I'd like to stab 2009 in the eye with a really hot french fry!!!

    Somethings you just can't help.
Although I'm not feeling the Economic Regression, I'm sure that many others are. I have to go to Animania this year and hopfully lose some weight before then so I can cosplay Brock from Pokemon, I gotta get practicing curling my hair.

I hope Barrack Obama helps you and all the other Americans.
Personally, I'm just hoping the water level doesn't rise too much because i'll be stuffed if there's a 5m rise (then i'll be underwater). According to my dad, as long as Kevin Rudd can maintain a economic balance, he's fine.

Awww, you are worried about the economy. It will pick up. Obama has got a plan. It is a very nice one too. So hopefully that will play out. Yeah it hasn't affected me too much. Only I been working at least 37 and 38 hours instead of 39. Your situation is serious. But I think it will be alright by then. And you will still go to Anime Boston. ^^ As long people ask for tubes, your job is secured.

Well, you may think that, but people will still be paranoid about everything, even though the guys up at the front offices say they are expecting business to pick up in the spring.

I hope so. I WILL NOT MISS ANIME BOSTON 2009!!
