My earliest of early days of Pokémon

So, yeah. You know what? I think I had a curiositic interest in Pokémon, and some vague perma-written early childhood memories (everyone's got 'em) brings back how I got into it from the very beginning—The earliest in memory of how I learned to like this wonderful and diverse franchise.
I recall many nights where I would watch the old Yu-Gi-Oh! 1998/2000 TV shows on Cartoon Network (back before they abbreviated their logo ;D). I also remembered the Pokémon anime would air directly after Yu-Gi-Oh – Sometimes before though. I recall asking my mother if I could take my shower before Yu-Gi-Oh came on, while Pokémon was airing (I was four years old then, in the year 2002/2003). I didn't like the anime for many unclarified reasons, most of which I connect to be the same or similar as to why I dislike the Indigo saga today. Every once in a blue moon I would sit down and watch an episode of Pokémon to see if I still dislike it, and one time at around what would theoretically be around the year '03 or '04, I saw a completely new and different version of Pokémon, and took an eager and unexplored liking to it. I went to a daycare in the next few years, but unfortunately very few if any watched/played Pokémon; I continued with Yu-Gi-Oh and added Sonic the Hedgehog to my list of favorites after my aunt bought me a Sega Genesis and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 ;}. I was finally pulled out of the daycare after one of the ghetto caregivers stole my Sonic Advance 2 after confinscating it and my GBA SP, her reason being “No sharing except on Fridays” (I truly wish I was lying to you p_o) I luckily got back the console, and it rests on my shelf, its battery still running ;]. For my trouble, my mother took me to Wal-Mart and let me pick any one GBA game from the shelf — I picked Pokémon Emerald. From that moment on, Pokémon hasn't stopped for me since, nay for a few blocks of all-around boredom (I had no internets then -_-). Yu-Gi-Oh will always have a special reserved place in my mind, and I still play Sonic on and off, mainly retro games though (That same Sega and that same Sonic 2 both run perfectly still and are played ;P)
That is me and that is where I began.
Ciao!
