2012 brings new things to discover as well as uncertainty about the future. It also brings more of that 2012 doomsday BS that has been running rampant the past few years, despite common sense and scientists actually proving that the predicted Mayan doomsday will not happen! But that still doesn't stop idiots like Discovery Channel, History Channel, Patrick Geryl and other morons from continuing to shove their doomsday shows and books down our throats!
Since the world will end in 356 days from now (we are in a leap year, so we have the 29th of February), I've decided to have my own fun with this "phenomenon". Don't worry, I'm not going to talk about how the earth will suddenly reverse its magnetic fields or anything like that. I lack the intelligence to make sense of that stuff.
The reason for this title if I'm not going to talk about 2012? A certain 80's song that critics think is probably the worst song in history.

Unemployment, here I am.

Well, I finally got that whole Unemployment deal taken care of. I was in a group of like 25 other people that were in the same boat as me: Laid off. I did see a few people I worked with at that group.
So, what happened? We all filled out our claims to get unemployment money. That was easy enough. So, they told us to call a number to start the process. Then on Sunday or anything during the week, we have to call another number with the info we got from the last phone call to start getting money.
Overall, the whole damn thing's very confusing. But I did get the gist of everything. So, I think I know what to do tomorrow and on Sunday. They do require one thing: you keep on looking for jobs and document what you went after, because they might call you about that. However, the rules about looking for jobs don't mention actually applying for them. Just "LOOKING" for jobs will do just fine. Well, you must actually look and inquire about it, but you can even get away with asking a friend who works about their job and that will count.
This week has been too much for me. I just want to take a few weeks off for myself to recharge from everything that's happened to me this past month.
I wish Anime Boston was here already. I maybe still able to go to that now. But, I don't know. Guilt might set it.

Supposedly, you're "unemployed" as long as you seek work, and you're "not employed" if you're not looking for work. In Australia, anyway.Posted February 6th, 2009 at 3:12 AM by -

Well, I still live at home, so I don't have many bills to pay off. My Dad has some health problems so if anything crappy happens to him, I'll be there to keep an eye on him.
My only bill is the Internet. I'm still using a 56K dial-up connection, so that's just $10 a month.
As for the cash... I'll start collecting payments weekly. As for how much I'll get... it's complicated. It's all about the two quarters of the year I made the most money gross wise. Then, they divide that by half and that's how much I'll be getting weekly.
That's as best as I can tell you.Posted February 10th, 2009 at 3:31 PM by Mario The World Champion
