In my JROTC battalion, I'm part of a special team called honor guard.
Our honor guard is responsible for raising and lowering the flag in front of the high school every morning (which is somewhat different than what honor guards do in the Army). Today Rivera, the current honor guard commander, let me practice commanding this morning and afternoon.
And I screwed it up this morning. After they finished hanging the flag and were posted facing east, I said left face instead of right face, basically turning them towards the parking lot. I feel like I recovered nicely with an 'as you were' followed by the proper command, but... I don't know - I really messed it up.
Oddly, Rivera only criticized my voice, and it was probably louder than his own.
