Why are you adding me? I don't know you!

This is something I needed to get off my chest for a long time now. I'm on MSN virtually every time I come online. I don't have many friends on my contact list, unlike others who have tons of friends. So, I got my own little group who I chat with. That means I still don't know a lot of people and or I'm too afraid to add new people that I know from here.

So, this is where my favorite pet peeve comes in. One day, I start up MSN and there's a notice that I new friend has added me. But there's a problem. I don't know this person! I've never seen this person's e-mail before. And here's the thing that really grinds my gears and I wish every IM has this option. Add a note telling who you and what site you're from!

Because of people just randomly adding me to their lists, I'm blocking all friend invites from now on. And when I do add these people, THEY NEVER have the courtesy to send you an IM when you accept them! So, I have no clue who this person who just added me is!! What's wrong with just shooting a person a little e-mail saying who you are and what site you're from. You know, a little greeting. Not just randomly add me to your goddamn list since I don't know you AT ALL!!!!

After this, I'm just fed up. I'll never accept another MSN friend invite. If I don't know you or you don't tell me who you are, I'm blocking you!! I may sound like I'm being an ass about it, but I'm just friggin' sick of it.

To anybody who reads this, try me. I DARE YOU!

Oh, this annoys me, too. I get a few every so often from random people...But people *can* add notes saying who you are to the invite, they just never seem to :/

Yeah, that can be pretty annoying. Years ago, I would get all sorts of random requests and IMs from people I don't know (I don't think they had the ability to restrict who could IM you back then, or if they did, I was too stupid to notice). I don't like blocking people, but I also don't want to add someone I've never talked to. Luckily, I only have one person on my block list at the moment. Who knows...that may change soon.

It's like.. if people are gonna add me, I really wish they'd fill in that little note line, telling me who the heck they are. I don't care if was Andy that added me, if I don't recognize the email, and no one tells me who they are.. I just deny it. = =;

Sometimes I accept, if they take the time to say that they really want me to add them.. but otherwise, it's a no-go.

Lol I don't even know about an eigth of my contact list, e-mails just get spread around randomly when somebody wants to know somebody else :/
Most of them get blocked though.

I hate random invites. I got MSN about 2 weeks ago and already about 7 people have sent me random IMs and adds. I have to go through and block all of them. I haaaaaaaaaate it.

I don't have an MSN, but there have been people on here, BMGf, and Serebii that randomly try to add me as their friends. It's pretty annoying since I don't know them. =/ And then I say 'I don't know you, so we'll have to talk first', ya know, just to be nice. And then I get no reply. So I guess they sent me a request for no reason.

Wow. I'm amazed that some people share the same aggravation as I do. I never send friend invites to other people, even ones I've met here because I know I'll probably get blocked!!

Well, I feel somewhat better now. This has been grinding my gears for a while.
