Mood: Why the bloody hell am I still up?

Ahhhh, summer. My on-again off-again friend. We meet again. I've always had mixed feelings about you. For anyone who doesn't know, New England weather is by far some of the worst weather you can ever experience. The winter's are incredibly awful, and the sharp shift to the dreadful heat of summer can make anyone go mad...or maybe that's just me overreacting a little bit. Needless to say, I'm not the biggest fan of summer; I'll crank up my AC to as far is it can go at night so I don't wake up in a bath of my own sweat (have fun with that mental image), and I'll do my best to jump in my pool as many time's as I can to beat the heat. What can I say? I'm a winter-kind-of-guy. however, there is one thing that I always look forward to - or rather, what I've been looking forward to since 2012 - and that is going down to South Carolina for vacation.

Spoiler:

If you don't know by some of my previous posts - or you did a tl;dr deal with the introductory paragraph of this blog entry, in which case how are you reading this... - I live in Massachusetts. A few years ago my parents decided to invest their hard earned money into a condo; basically an "early retirement present" so to speak for themselves, so they can have a headstart on their plan to move away from the north and enjoy the warm, humid weather that they've always enjoyed. As is this case, they dedicate a week to head on down to their home away from home, usually bringing my brother and I in the process. At first I grudgingly went along as I'm a stickler for such gross weather, but the place has easily grown on me and I honestly can't wait to go down there in a few days. It's always been really nice for me considering as I work waaaaay too much, it's a great way for me to unwind, kick my feet up, play some video games that I've delayed for so long (*cough* Skyward Sword *cough*), and just overall not have to worry about any strenuous activities.

Although that won't be the only things that I will be doing. Rather, I'll be spending some much needed family time with my mum and pops. We've already got a few things lined up: kayaking, a few baseball games, turtle watching (basically we watch turtles hatch from their eggs and swim out to sea), snorkeling, bicycling, FRIGGIN' MINI GOLF sorry I always get really excited about that, beaching it up, and so on and so forth. However, this trip will be a tad droll compared to other trips. Unfortunately my brother found out at the last minute that he had to take a summer course to make up a credit that he was missing, and as the plane tickets are nontransferable he's going to be staying behind this year. On top of that little smudge on this trip, I actually have a little bit of homework for myself; as I run the games portion of a Vacation Bible School like I've done the last few years, I need to plan a whole week full of jam packed energetic games for kids ranging Pre-K to 5th grade. And as I'm one of those people that likes to procrastinate things to the last minute, I'll probably end up doing it on the last day of vacation.

Spoiler:

But yeah, I'm overall very, very excited about this vacation! Only two more work days separate me from my bed in Massachusetts to my comfy loft down in South Carolina. I'm not the biggest fan of planes though - which I'll go over in a future blog entry - so I'm a little bit nervous about that, but I'll probably just end up sleeping the whole way there. So! What are your big plans for this summer? Going anywhere fun? Have you gone anywhere fun? Where would you love to go someday for vacation? Comment below as I'd love to hear and discuss with you what you have to say about this topic!
