&Your effort was valueless, sorry, princess~.
I will become self sufficient.

So, I'm finally doing my own laundry. Finally doing chores, and whatnot. I was a lazy person for awhile, never did anything, really. And to prove, I'm, you know, not a "lazy, good for nothing, piece of muk", I started to take the initiative. I messed up with drying the first time, but I learned from my mistake. I've done laundry three times now. I've got this.
I know how to do basic chores, but, the problem comes in here:
Cooking.
Okay, listen to me. I'm scared of the oven. I have been for years. I'm afraid because I once accidentally put my hand on a stovetop in the eighth grade. It was at school. I didn't think the oven was still cooling, and didn't realize I had my hand there. ...Got myself a second degree burn that day. Ever since then, I've been afraid of that monstrosity.
"But cooking can be fun!"
Okay, well.
I tried using the stove today. I freaked out. If I can't boil eggs without help/freaking out, I'll never learn to cook. It's not that I'm not capable, I'm just afraid of burning myself, and don't want to get near the oven. The egg salad came out nice, though. And, hey, I didn't poison myself, so I guess that means I boil eggs okay?
...If only I could get over my fear of stoves. That'd help me learn how to cook so I'm not useless.
Besides the chore department, gender has been bothering me a lot lately, but I'm working on it.
That's it. You can go now.

I've always been very nervous of the oven and stove as well tbh. More the oven. But, you know, just keeping doing it helps a lot. Take all the precautions you need- hot pads/oven mitts all the time, approaching very slowly, keeping sleeves rolled all the way up, using two hands for everything, whatever. Make yourself feel safe. You'll get used to it slowly. :3Posted September 27th, 2015 at 8:50 AM by Aquacorde
