If you want to know the real me, just turn the page in my dirt road diary.
It’s right there for you to see, every kiss, every beer, every cotton field memory.
Tan legs & some Dixie Land delight, ridin’ round, windows down on a summer night.
I was there, and that was me. It's right here in my dirt road diary.

**...instead of waffles, we made pancakes.
*Blog entry is separated into parts. This is 3 of 3. I know it's been a LONG while since the last one.
September 13-14, 2015
The last time Roy had pancakes? Two years ago. He only ate pancakes from Ihop, but unfortunately, since he was living with his dad at the time, he had to stop because his dad had somewhat of…a traumatic experience that even to this day he had some difficulty explaining it. He wishes to know how to make some for himself sometime, not even his mom knows how.
On our way back from the Island, I gathered up the idea of going to HEB to buy items to make pancakes. I kept asking Roy how he wanted his pancakes, as well as any preferences. He wanted me to surprise him, which is what I've been meaning to do anyways. :)
However, I needed to be careful. You see, Roy has a mukload of willpower against junk food and sugary foods. He tends to stay away from anything that has more than 10 grams of sugar in the nutrition value. Therefore, he does NOT like pancake syrup. So, in order for me to avoid that, I'll have to make the pancakes a bit more on the healthier side, to the point that it would not be necessary to add pancake syrup on it.
If only I had taken an actual picture of it. But I was able to pull it off! Cooked the pancakes normally, added blueberries for fruity flavor. Then I added fresh strawberries and bananas on top of said pancakes and to top it off, fat-free cool whip. It was a great alternative to pancake syrup, and both Roy and his mom totally enjoyed it.
Later on during the day, Roy's mom pulled me into her room and sat me down on the room's couch. With a concerned face, she began to explain to me that Roy had lied to her about finishing his schoolwork. He only did for one class, but not for his other classes. I was honestly surprised, because I also thought he had finished his schoolwork prior to my arrival to the Countryside. I would figured he wouldn't really worry about it. But it's the mom that's more worried than he was, it seems. She asked me to do her a favor, to tell him to do his schoolwork and to help him in any way I could. He might have not listened to her, but she's positive that he will listen to me.
So, I had to enter his room, he then paused his Team Fortress 2 session because he knew what his mom had told me. I ended up explaining about his schoolwork, and how he did not tell the truth to his mom. I didn't give him any puppy dog faces or anything to convince him to do his schoolwork. I was straightforward, serious, and careful. I also didn't want him to be mad at me for making him do it (one of my biggest paranoids). He turned off his game, and got his books out. Roy's mom was right...he DOES listen to me. It can't be just because I am his girlfriend and have the power to be demanding. He has reasons as to why he finally decided to do it. My assumption...he wants to prove to me that he's not a slacker. He never wanted to be one. His emotional turmoils take his toll, especially when he was living with his father at the time. It drives him nuts every time he wants to take control of Roy's life. I don't want to elaborate on that further, though.
The material was easy though...his major is corporate communication and he's taking English and Communication classes. He's also taking a Spanish class, but he's done the work for that class. He's struggling with English and Communication, in which I was able to help out with *some* of the work he was assigned to.
I already had planned to leave Sunday evening before sunset, but because Roy was working better with me around, especially since I was able to comprehend the material he was assigned to (yay for taking advanced English classes back in Cali~), I decided to stay another night to help him out. It was okay with me, since I can go straight to work on Monday afternoon.
Compared to what he had worked on in the past, he was able to achieve MUCH better scores with my help, and no I didn't cheat for him. It is proven that Roy can't work well alone. He needed a tutor, or a partner. Although I won't be available often to help him out, he could keep the idea of going to tutoring at uni to get his work done, and not have to worry as much when he returns to the Countryside.
