You know… several years ago, when I watched Pokémon movie that features Victini in it, I was introduced to a certain delicacy called macarons. If you have watched it, you know that it's Victini's favorite food, and in Pokémon XY anime, macarons are quite dominant as well, given that Kalos region was inspired from France as a whole, and macarons were originated from France, or so I heard. These macarons sure look yummy, but then, I haven't got a chance to try one… until several hours ago.

Well, it was quite not easy for me to find one, and I used to think that it's not sold in my city, until I got myself a chance to search on the net and find a few bakery stores that sold one, so I decided to go to one of the bakery store and buy a pack of 5 different macarons. Now that I've got a pack of macarons, without further ado…

Sometimes when looking by it, I thought macarons are quite softie like some birthday cakes, but no, I think it's kinda tad bit softer than when I eat Oreo chocolate cookies. Macarons are also coming with different colors, like white, blue or yellow, but I have no idea that mixed color of macarons also exist as well, just like one of them in my pack right now. In case you didn't know, I've heard from some sources that each colored macarons have different flavors to fit the color they're matched in, right? For example, a white macaron might have vanilla flavor, or pink one having strawberry's, that's what make every macarons unique in some way.

On overall, after eating some of them, I can say that macarons are quite alright and delicious, and now I understand why Victini likes it a whole lot, maybe I should get one again when I get more chances.

If you know how to make meringues, making macarons is actually fairly simple.
For the outer shell it's just egg whites, sugar, and ground almonds- sometimes food colouring or a pinch of cocoa powder.
For the inside, you can just be a bit lazy and spread nutella or jam in between them.. or you can make your own ganache. :3
Glad you enjoyed them!

Oh, and the outside is very rarely flavoured. The flavour you get most of the time is from the filling, not the shell.. this is to do with technical baking reasons! (any fats or oils will completely deflate the macaron shell and it will not rise or hold its structure.)
