Ah, the good old days of HeartGold and SoulSilver. I was like the biggest noob ever back then. It's awesome to look back at.
Hopefully you will enjoy just as much as I do!

My first experience with Pokémon was in 2010. Yeah, I was kinda late to the party, but I'm here now ;). A friend of mine told me about this awesome game his parents bought him, and that he had been really adicted to it for the past week.

After about a month of me learning what Pokémon was (not from an actual reliable source like Bulbapedia, from him), I decided to tell my parents about it and ask if I could buy it too. They didn't really like the idea at first: I didn't have a DS yet, the game sounded kinda brutal, etc.

We ended up buying a Nintendo DS and a Pokémon game. I was really excited and waiting for when it would arrive. When it finally did, the disappointments started. While the DS was awesome, we apparently bought a Mystery Dungeon-game instead of Pokémon SoulSilver. I did not have any clue what Pokémon Mystery Dungeon was, and thought it was the same game my friend had been talking about. However, the gameplay was nothing like what he had told me and, most importantly, I did not know English. I had not had English classes at school yet, and my parents had to translate everything. Like literally everything. Go ask them, they had a terrible time and probably wished they did not buy me that game.

I quickly understood we ordered the wrong game and told my parents. You understand they weren't happy about it. Another month later, I finally got the right game and was eager to start playing. Still not the best at the English, I caused my parents quite the bit of trouble.

The most hilarious thing about all of this is that I still technically didn't knew anything about Pokémon. For example, I completely ignored the Run-button until after the League, battling every single Pokémon on the way without even knowing you could run away. And I thought stat changes stayed after a battle, which resulted in me spamming weaker opponents with Agility and trying to avoid any Pokémon with stat-lowering moves. Also I didn't know about IVs, EVs, Egg Moves, and VGC in general, but I don't consider that too bad because there still are a lot of people out there who don't know about these.

That's gonna wrap things up for today. Next time, we'll talk about cheating in the games, and a bunch of other random stuff regarding my Pokémon experience. Thanks for reading, I hope you have a very nice day and see you next time!

I know where to find friends for pokemon go. There is a new service that gives you the opportunity to know who and where catches pokémon in your city. In addition, you can find friends, to share catching pokemon.
Register with one click through the social network, fill in the questionnaire (gender, faction, level), and do not forget to mark on the map, otherwise no one will know who's in charge in your city http://poke-friend.com
