A reflection on woks and blenders

Posted September 28th, 2016 at 5:30 AM by Shamol

So a really neat way to clean woks is to pour some water on the hot surface (and maybe some vinegar), slosh it around a little and/or scrape with spatula to dislodge the sticky stuff, and then throw the liquid away. This makes the wok so much more manageable to clean- rinse once and you'll be done with it.

A really neat way to clean blenders is to blend some detergent water for a couple minutes. It will froth up super fast and get rid of all the fat and other things sticking to the blades and the sides. All you then have to do with rinse.

For both woks and blenders, the best way to clean them is to make them do what they were already doing when they got dirty. Easier maintenance is facilitated by the processes which call for maintenance in the first place. A little more of bad stuff ends up being actually better.

I can't help but think there's a metaphor for life in all this.
