RAMBLINGS OF A MADMAN
The purpose of blogs vary. Many are simply personal ones, where they describe the workings of the author's life. Some are political, rallying for one side and decrying the other. The purpose of this blog is to post my internal musings about things I don't fully understand. There are few answers in this blog, but many questions. No post is a light read - I endeavour to make them long and deep. And I never give a tl;dr version. If I haven't scared you away yet, happy thinking. :D

Describe red to a blind person that doesn't understand physics.
You can't. You could give the definition that it is electromagnetic radiation from some wavelength to some other wavelength, but that's hardly a satisfying definition to people who don't know much about physics. It also doesn't allow them to visualise red.
You could describe the emotions it evokes, but the emotional/cultural aspect of red is only one component. There is still a visual component.
You could describe the things that are red, but again, that doesn't really work, either, because it doesn't do anything to extrapolate the concept.
So, you really can't describe the visual component of red properly to a person who has never experienced it. The knowledge is not transferrable by words.
And that really bugs me. :[
