It makes me sad...

Posted December 2nd, 2010 at 2:42 PM by Maraala

So today I was walking to the bus parking lot to catch the bus home when I saw my friend crying. I asked what happen and she said that she was failing math and that if she doesn't get it back up then they were gonna kick her out of school (We go to an Academy for the Arts.)

Two of my friends said they were going to try to help her by tutoring. I want to help too but the only math I'm good at is Geometry.

Any suggestions?

Hmmm... Well there really isn't much anyone can do besides a tutor who is advanced in math. As in, someone in Calculus if you school offers the AP course for that. I don't know if that's saying too much, I don't know how many other schools besides mine have students at that level and in what numbers. If it can be afforded, a professional tutor can help.

But if she's flunking math in the first place, then she should have either paid attention correctly and done the work or ask the teacher if there is stuff she doesn't understand.

The reason most good students get kicked out of a school is because they encounter suddenly stuff they can't understand and don't bother to ask their teacher! They're teachers for a reason.

She should get a professional tutor and work her butt off.

Although I'm just parroting what K47 and Kura said, a tutor really would be best for her, as long as she puts her heart into learning the material so she can up her grade.

I mean thats what we are going to do, as one of the two friends is exceptionally amazing at math

I do not know the whole story and I'm just trying to help her
I just don't want her to leave me (even though she will graduate this school year)
