2012 brings new things to discover as well as uncertainty about the future. It also brings more of that 2012 doomsday BS that has been running rampant the past few years, despite common sense and scientists actually proving that the predicted Mayan doomsday will not happen! But that still doesn't stop idiots like Discovery Channel, History Channel, Patrick Geryl and other morons from continuing to shove their doomsday shows and books down our throats!
Since the world will end in 356 days from now (we are in a leap year, so we have the 29th of February), I've decided to have my own fun with this "phenomenon". Don't worry, I'm not going to talk about how the earth will suddenly reverse its magnetic fields or anything like that. I lack the intelligence to make sense of that stuff.
The reason for this title if I'm not going to talk about 2012? A certain 80's song that critics think is probably the worst song in history.

My Dad's going to die. For real.

Need I explain more?
My Dad suffered a stroke last night due to a fall he had and a lot of blood pushed against his brain, causing major damage. The doctors there say his chance at recovery are slim to none. Even if he did pull through, his quality of life is non-existant due to his stroke.
As of right now, my family is going to debate what to do. I am trying to prepare for the ineviable.

Even if he did, he will most likely be a vegitable due to the damage his brain sustained from the stroke. Despite his health issues, he HATED being still. Knowing if he couldn't move after this, he would have most likely wanted to pass on.Quote:

My Grandmother had a stroke, and the doctors told us she would only have 2 weeks to live.
It's been about 6 years now since that, and she's still here. She can eat and talk and move her arms, sure she can't move her legs but she's with us and we enjoy her company every day.
So.. I think you guys should really have hope and faith, because I'm sure your dad is a strong person and can pull through just like my grandma did.
I wish you and your family all the best.Posted September 24th, 2009 at 2:32 PM by Kura

Oh my...I am so sorry. ;; This isn't fair at all. Losing a family member is the worst thing ever! Maybe he will pull through, but like you said he will be a vegetable for the rest of his life. And your Dad likes to keep busy so I guess. I wish you and your family the best. All I can do is be supportive. If you need a shoulder to cry on I am here. Right now, I am sad for you and your family. I hope your Dad will pull through. Like Kura said, he is strong.Posted September 24th, 2009 at 2:43 PM by Lucy Lu

Awww sweety.... ;;
I lost my dad the year 2001 (brain tumor)... And I watched him wither away.. At the weary end he couldn't speak couldn't eat by himself.. Couldn't even move... He eventually died at home....
My advice to you is to tell him that you love him while you still can.. I never got the chance to do that at the very end when I realized my dad was gonna to die... One of the reasons I hate my grandmother....
But what you need to consider is that if he does live he won't be the same person you knew before.. A stroke paralyzes the body.. So one half of him might not be able to move... If he does die then that would be very sad.. But there can be a small posibilty that he recovers some control after some time, but he'd never recover fully...
So the situation your in is a lose lose kinda situation...
I just hate that my last memory's of my dad were of him being not able to do anything but lie in his bed...Posted September 24th, 2009 at 4:13 PM by Angela

*hugs* Oh my...he won't be able to talk?! Oh no...that is totally awful. ;; I just can't believe this happened to your Dad! He just got through leukemia and now he suffered a stroke! Like I said I will put him, you, and the rest of your family in my prayers. Maybe by some miracle he will get out of this. *hugs again*Quote:I know you're trying to help, but what happened with my Dad is extremely bad. I can't really go into much detail right now because I'm on my PSP in the hospital.
Here's what I can say. He won't be able to use the right side of his body, will be blind in one eye and he won't be able to communicate.Posted September 24th, 2009 at 8:50 PM by Lucy Lu

My Dad has been fighting various illnesses for the past 15 years or so. His leukemia is the worst thing he's got.
The real reason he had the stroke was because he had a low blood platlet count, so he bleeds easily and his blood doesn't clot up easily. When he had that fall last night, he hit his head and it form a big clot in his brain.
I wish I can go into more detail, but I am still here in the hospital.Posted September 24th, 2009 at 9:50 PM by Mario The World Champion
