"The Console Curse"

Years ago, I used to have a plentiful amount of systems to damper the boredom I gained over so much free time. However, the 08 - 09 times have brought rather... disheartening and destructive results to Beachy's video game collection.
I was never one to boast all the latest games or "yeah dude, I got 7 systems with everything." No, I'm more or less like "I've got three systems with about 5 games." I have a single parent that supports two children with a lacking child support flow, so that's easily why. I don't harm my systems, and very thankful I even have them... yet I, the kid that rarely does anything wrong, get the punishment by some unknown force. A curse, if you will...
I call it "the console curse."
Some time ago (few weeks or months) my DS died randomly out of thin air. I was playing the Battle Tower, put my status to rest, turned off the DS, took my nap... woke up to nothing showing up. No light, no nothing.
I later find my sister's DS. And go out and buy Professor Layton and the Curious Village. However, I never got to play it, as the DS was misplaced and never found again. I've searched this house five times, at least, too.
Then a few days ago, my four-year-old 360 died of RROD. Red ring of doom. Three lights that flash, concerning hardware malfunction. And I can't pay to ship it to Mircosoft for their error that I didn't cause. (17% of all 360s made before the year 08 will suffer this inevitable unexplanable failure, over 3 million at the very least.)
The only thing that has revived is my Wii. Which I bought a wireless sensor bar to, and working like a charm. However, my games are so... outdated and defeated that I rarely have much fun as I can.
Meanwhile, my laptop is hanging by the skin of its backlight to survive and breathe another day.
