2012 brings new things to discover as well as uncertainty about the future. It also brings more of that 2012 doomsday BS that has been running rampant the past few years, despite common sense and scientists actually proving that the predicted Mayan doomsday will not happen! But that still doesn't stop idiots like Discovery Channel, History Channel, Patrick Geryl and other morons from continuing to shove their doomsday shows and books down our throats!
Since the world will end in 356 days from now (we are in a leap year, so we have the 29th of February), I've decided to have my own fun with this "phenomenon". Don't worry, I'm not going to talk about how the earth will suddenly reverse its magnetic fields or anything like that. I lack the intelligence to make sense of that stuff.
The reason for this title if I'm not going to talk about 2012? A certain 80's song that critics think is probably the worst song in history.

Reliving some old, Commodore 64 gaming classics...

When I was growing up in the 1980's, I was around when the NES was IN back then. I played my heart away with that system, despite that I had to go to bed after playing it. I was still a little kid back then. But there was another video game system I was attached to. Actually, it was more of a computer system than a game console: The Commodore 64.
My parents bought that thing before I could even remember. I think it was 1985 or something. I don't know when it was, but that computer and the NES were a major part of my childhood. I played classic games like Epyx's Winter Games and Summer Games, Test Drive, Mario Bros., Impossible Mission, Super Cycle, Ultima V, Test Drive 2 and countless others. I still have fond memories about those games I played so long ago.
Sadly, as the consoles got better, the Commodore 64 was pout to the wayside and my old computer I played so much is now long gone. Resting in video game heaven.
Now, fast forward to 2009. With older arcade games being released on the newer systems through Xbox Live, Wii's Virtual Channel and PSN, it has lit an old fire in me to play some old c64 games. However, I can't play the computer itself anymore. But, there's another solution: Emulation!!!
C64 emulators exist online and they act like an old C64 from back in the day! You even have to wait for the game to load! It's like old times!! There are plenty of fans worldwide who still enjoy playing around with that old fossil through emulation and I have gotten into that.
I recently downloaded a good C64 emulator and a lot of the old games I used to play all the time. I feel like I went back in time when I fooled around with a few games I downloaded already.
So why am I posting something like this in here? Well, a lot of you weren't even born when the Commodore was around. So, I guess I'm posting this just to make myself feel old. XD
