first day of catering college

Posted September 9th, 2014 at 7:25 AM by Fletchling

Yesterday I had my first day of catering college. It was... an experience. I've been put in the class with the people who don't seem to give a damn for theory work, and it's rather annoying. Everything is explained at a slow pace and nothing is ever told straight, it's all simplified ****. Sigh. At least for kitchen sessions I am in a good group, even if we are starting at the very basic vegetable knife cuts - brunoise, macedoine, julienne, jardiniere, chiffonade and paysanne. I could do them in my sleep. Things can only get better though!

What classes do you have other than cooking? Business classes? Travel classes? I've never heard of catering college!

other than cooking practical and cooking theory we have a life skills class. That's only so far though, after a while I'll be able to pick things like food science and business if I wanted!
