Dragon

"Meet the PokeCommunity'ers" is a series of the Daily Bloggity in which I have a one-on-one with specific members of PC in which we can get to know them more. All responses are in their own words, and questions were made on a general basis. If you would like to see a specific user in the next edition, comment below! This will be a weekly series appearing in the Daily Bloggity at 5 PM Eastern Time every Sunday.

Date: 22 February 2015
Time: 1:27 PM ET
Mood: Embracing my inner Ron Burgandy

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]When did you become a member of PokeCommunity and how did you come across it?[/css-div]I.. actually technically became a member around 2009, under the name 'Dwagie-Chan', but I quickly forgot about it, and joined more than a year later under my old 'Miss Doronjo' account, haha. I found about it while I was a member for the Marriland forums, and I searched via google for other pokemon communities that I can get into, just to try and make new friends, make more memories, etc, etc!

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]What made you decide to transition over from Marriland to PokeCommunity?[/css-div]Well, long story short, ultimately what decided that for me was when my friends there started to drift away because of the forum changing and all that, but most of the reason was because there was constant drama. Like, I've had this friend who.. even though she was nice, was a complete drama queen in various, various matters, ugh. Of course, I stayed out of all that drama, but, it wasn't really pretty to be around in, if you know what I mean. I decided to pop on by here and there these days, but yeah.

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]What is the significance or origin behind your username? Past usernames?[/css-div]Oh, Dragon? Well, after my father Odin abandoned me to the hall of heroes, my cells developed into superhero proportions as I quickly grew wings and had the power to save young and hip porn stars who game me the name 'Dragon' and...

Naaah, I'm joking; there's really not much significance behind this at all, save me being really interested in Dragons in general because I used to read a lot of fairy tales when I was a kid, and I also loooved the move 'how to train your Dragon', which was another inspiration!

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]Gotta ask then, which How To Train Your Dragon did you think was better: 1 or 2?[/css-div]Oh, I honestly can't choose between the two, haha. I guess I was more attracted on watching 1, because the story about the vikings accepting the dragons as friends rather than just mindless creatures to beat down and kill was pretty much more thrilling to watch! But like I said, both of them were amazing, and I'd still recommend them to watch!

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]Which forum do you see yourself gravitating towards the most and why?[/css-div]Well, generally the places I moderate, The Welcome Lounge, and Video Games. TWL? Hm, well, I always thought it to be underrated.. because, well, if you're active there, you'll see the value on the posts and such that you can put in there, since you're essentially meeting the faces of the new PC members, and hey- maybe one day they can be admins! Then you can look back and say, "ohh, I remember greeting them for the first time: they've grown up so much!" Mmm, but yeah, modding that section always gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling; not something you can replace!

When I first became active on Video Games, I just wanted to chat with people about the new Naruto game that came out, but, it wasn't very active at the time, sooo I just thought I could maybe help out here and there, and have fun doing it, you know? As you know already, today Video Games is pretty demanding, but the amount of activities and creativity you can do there is immense in which it's well worth it for all of that sort of fun, y'know? It's really cool making and participating in gaming tournaments where everyone strives to do their best, and since new video games will continue to be made, there's always going to be new discussion~!

Hm, I've been pretty attracted to PG and PGC as of late; actually, PG used to be my old stomping grounds as a moderator there, sooo it brings back really cool memories, haha. But still, the topics there are pretty interesting, same goes with PGC! The Roleplay Corner is also pretty fun since I'm a sucker for RPing. :b

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]Have you been following the news about the new Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4? What are your thoughts on that or the series as a whole?[/css-div]I'm glad that they're showcasing the true end of the Naruto series with that game, because not only that it does look really fun to play, but that scene of the Naruto manga has always been pretty thrilling to watch and learn about in both the anime and the manga!

I mean, I was a follower of the Naruto anime ever since it first aired in North America, even though I was kind of indifferent to Naruto as a kid, but you know, the series had a good message; believe in yourself, and never give up to reach your dreams! Cheesy, but, I liked it! The characters were different but always interesting, and the tales itself were easy to get into.

Like even before Shippuden, the anime was pretty cool, wondering how Naruto and the others will grow and get stronger, you know? Shippuden had a more dark and chaotic twist with the Akatsuki saga and the Ninja War saga. I didn't really follow too much about the Madara saga, but, it was cool watching things coming to a close on how it'll wrap up! All in all, the series was pretty fun to keep up with! I do hope that they'll do segments with their kids!

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]If you could make any improvement to the site, what would it be and why? If you can't think of anything, what would you like to stay consistent?[/css-div]Hm, not much to say there, I think the community is evolving, which is good; the fellow moderators here likes to interact with members which would be the number one thing to do when it comes to solving transparency issues, and the h-staff are pretty approachable too. I think the supporters here need more love though; things being staff-centric around here isn't an easy fix, yes, but there really should be more on-going stuff for the supporters too, like their own specific events, or heck, I love it when the staff members post threads about feedback for the board that they moderate, and if they can ask to assist them with tasks too~

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]I know that staff centricism isn't an easy fix, but do you have any ideas to solve this problem that seems to be nagging this site? Or do you think there might not be a solution to this?[/css-div]Unfortunately, there might not be a simple solution to this. I mean, even though I'm just a member here on PC, it doesn't change the fact that I'm a member with a responsibility: a staff member. You know? Because staff members can ban people unban people, promote people, etc, etc.

But, maybe to throw ideas around, maybe there can be more chances for regular members to help plan events. Like I'm starting to ask the VIPs for some ideas on helping to create the newcomer posting challenge, and maybe some video gaming event assistance whenever I needed it back in the day when I moderated it alone, but yeah! But to be fair, I don't think staff centricism is a really, really big problem in general these days, honestly. Again, the staff members do reach out to the regular members, and members are showing more and more initiative in trying to come up with innovative ideas for specific boards, and PC in general!

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]What was your reaction like when you found out you were modded?[/css-div]First time I was modded was around.. 2011? I was invited to this chat that had a bunch of higher staff members, which I tell you: it was intimidating, haha. But they were cool and helped me relax, so yeah; they asked me stuff about Pokemon General, and they asked me to moderate it, which you know, I honestly expected them to come to that conclusion whiiiich the acting kinda gave it away ironically, haha.

Second time alex said I was in trouble and I was like 'what did I dooooo?! DON'T HURT ME" but they didn't tell me and Gav PM'd me saying 'You have gotten an infraction", which in disguise was a PM telling me I've been promoted which I was legit surprised from the whole affair. xD

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]If you could jokingly infract any one person on PokeCommunity, who would you infract and what would be the reason for doing so?[/css-div]Myself, aka Dragon for being so amazing~ Like it should be a broken rule, you know? For being THAT amazing. Wow.

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]If you could moderate any section beside the section(s) you're currently moderate on PokeCommunity, which section which you choose and why? What would be the section you would least like to moderate?[/css-div]Hmmmm. Well if anything, Pokemon General and Pokemon Gaming Central look like pretty cool places to moderate.. oh, and The Roleplay Corner too! Always heaps of fun. 8D

There's not really a place I would least like to moderate since the boards there have their own experiences, but, I lack ROM Hacking knowledge, so, I'd kinda be a wreck there, haha. :3

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]Who would you consider a role model for yourself, in real life and/or on PC?[/css-div]Let's see... as odd as this sounds, there's this character from the game 'Persona 2' named Maya, ah, and as well as Morgan from Fire Emblem Awakening who I'd honestly want to be as, haha.

Now, before anyone says anything about me having fiction characters as role models, here me out: for one thing, they're both pretty positive about life, but in a sense, they both don't delude themselves from that positivity, in which they're always prepared to tackle what life hits at them, mainting their realism. When it comes to people, they always treat their friends well, as well as even people they haven't met before as if they've known them for years.. in a sense. That's something that I really admire in a person, and you know what, something that I can be like too! Just a positive person who can adapt to anything~ <33

Daily Comic - "Damp Destinies" by Julia Lepitit of Dorkly
Spoiler:
[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]What is your favorite pokemon and why?[/css-div]If I had to pick one, it'd be Milotic! Oddly enough though, I started to dig Milotic when Pokemon Emerald came out and I saw one of my friends battle against Wallace's Milotic, which it managed to tank a Hyper Beam from his level 80 Metagross, which I was really impressed; that got me to thinking, Milotic's tougher than I thought! And well, you know: the more I got to know about the pokemon Milotic, the more I thought that it was pretty much a pokemon that I can love. :3

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]If you were granted a wish and could wish for anything - besides more wishes and more genies - what would you wish for and why?[/css-div]I wish I could of been there for my grandmother's last moments. There's so much things I wanted to tell her.. so many regrets.. but that's they way things are, I suppose. I also wish that I could of been there more for my friend who passed away on a suicide. Depression is something that I would ultimately wish to disappear forever, because it's not an easy emotion to combat, you know? If I could, I'd tell her how much she meant to me, and while there's nothing I could do to combat depression myself, I'd just let her know that she'd always have a buddy nearby.

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]As a person who had a history of depression, trust me when I say you're not alone in that regard. Do you have any tricks or things you like to do when a depression episode hits? [/css-div]Ah, that's a tough one. These days, whenever I get a depressed episode during my life, I just wanted to be alone, watch like, 90s television shows, and well, maaaaybe if I feel like it, I'd tell one friend I trust the most how I feel. Playing Super Smash Bros. is surprisingly a really great stress reliever because you get to liiiterally smash enemies off from stages, which is oddly satisfying, haha. Cause in short, I'd do whatever I like doing to keep my mind busy, or heck, if I just want to take an easy to relax, then I would!

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]What is your favorite video game or series and why?[/css-div]Oh, first in foremost, it's gotta be Fire Emblem! I started to play Fire Emblem when I was around 6, where one of my friends actually had a Famicom from overseas, as well as Fire Emblem 1 for it, so, I was playing a couple of maps with him aaaaand it was pretty fun; soon I found myself playing the GBA games which I loved too, and started a hobby collecting them. :3

Phoenix Wright has always been one of my favourite series of games too. I first gotten into it when I saw a friend streaming it, and the court cases looked pretty dramatic and fun to get into! Though I didn't realize that Phoenix Wright was actually a series of games until I first bought Just for All, thinking it was the first Phoenix Wright game where I basically said 'wait a minute!' and sought my sights on the rest of the series from there~!

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]If you were allowed to keep only one Fire Emblem game and the rest were wiped away from video game history, which game would you preserve and why?[/css-div]Oh gods. ;__; I guess if I have to choose, It'd be Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War! Why? Because the characters are awesome, it has a pretty great plot, and the strategy is tough, but outstanding in my opinion! That leaves to be less desired for the ending, but all in all, it's a Fire Emblem game I can live with for eternity! Though it's a close second between Fire Emblem 7 and Fire Emblem Awakening too~

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]Who is your favorite video game character and why?[/css-div]Tricky one to answer, but as I said before, I'd say Maya from Persona and Morgan! Why? They're both positive, quirky, yet responsible.. characters I'd like to be as! There's also Arietta, the Wild from Tales of Abyss, because she's really cute, and I'm really sad that she turned out to be a villain, because she had the potential to be a hero, and 'part of the hero group'.There's also Ange Serena, from Tales of Innocence, in which if you've played Tales of Abyss, you'll see that she's essentially a female Jade. Pascal from Tales of Graces, because she's just... crazy. Super, super crazy but you just gotta love her, haha. <33

Daily Video - "Cornered Acapella" by artist Smooth McGroove
Spoiler:
[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]What would you say is your dream vacation?[/css-div]Ah, I'd love to visit the parts of Asia - not just Japan, but places like Hong Kong, China, Thailand, and so on! What I'd like to do is learn about the cuisine there, while I stuff my face, of course. (; As well as visit the many simple tourist attractions with beautiful scenery, because I can't tell you enough how much I adore a simple afternoon watching the sun set. The simple pleasures of life!

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]Who is your favorite artist/song?[/css-div]Hmm, technically I don't really have a 'favourite', since I'm a guy who just listens to anything, though I guess anything that resembles the late 90s pop culture? Those are pretty rad. :3

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]What would you say is your favorite TV or cartoon to watch as a kid?[/css-div]The 90s cartoon shows; the one's I grew up with. @w@ I mean, okay, I've watched alot of T.V at my childhood, but for a good reason; I used to love all the cartoons there! I also miss cartoon network shows that I don't really get anymore where I live. To list a few:

Dexter's Lab! Oh gawd how I love Dee Dee and Dexter! The episodes were funny, and science, science, science, and references from certain things everywhere! I used to love this show. I couldn't choose whether Dexter or Dee Dee was my favourite character, so I decided to choose them both. In fact, I like it ALOT better than Jimmy Neutron, IMO; because I feel the show is a lot more original. I can recall a episode where Dexter had to learn french, and one day, he decided to listen to a tape recording of a french lesson, but it was stuck on the phrase: "allez la du formage" (or something like that), and Dexter ended up stuck saying the EXACT same phrase, over and over again, haha It was quite funny how he still managed to get answers from school right, only saying that one phrase; and everyone loved him for it also; except at the end of the day, when he went back to his lab, he couldn't get in because his lab had a voice password, so he got zapped by the lab's many ray guns. :3

Another good mention was The Codename Kids Next Door, and y'know, it was kinda weird at first, but, I used to think that Numbah 5 was soooo cool in a poetic kind of way, Numbah 4 was a knucklehead, Numbah 3 was like one of those girly-girl types, Numbah 2 was well, anotehr knucklehead, but he's very smart! And Numbah One? His entrance used to give me chills. Know what I also love? The acronyms. owo' Like for example: CAKED: Capturize And Kidnapify Enemy Dessert. I have never heard so much acronyms in my lifetime. =O

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]Outside of PokeCommunity, what are your favorite hobbies? What interests you?[/css-div]Well, I'm a man who likes to be in the kitchen, basically! I looooove to cook and bake, which I first learned when I was around 10 years old, when my grandmother used to show me how to make simple things like Mac n' Cheese, and how to bake hushbrowns. Then again, back then I used to burn myself a lot from.. failures, but it all happens eventually, bah. When I gotten older, around.. 17, I took some cooking classes at a rec center, where we baked many things like cakes, and muffins, which I started to get into as well, but most of all, I really wanted to learn about southern cooking since.. I can't say no to a well cooked steak or hushpuppies, so, I've been at it for about two years until I felt more comfortable! Nowadays I bake for local charities and food drives around where I live, so, it was good doing all that hard work for people who needed it. <33

plus the ladies love a dragon in the kitchen, hohoho

I do love messing around with electronics there and there, like computers: I loved learning about computers, so, I took a course about computer administration, and managed to get A+ and Network + certification, just something to fall back upon! But most importantly, video games. xD I spend most of my free time either playing them or listening to soundtracks from them! <33

[css-div="text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #000000"]Want to give a shoutout to a fellow PC'er[/css-div]Ah, well, thanks for giving me this interview Matt; you're great! Ah, there's also Saki who's epically nice, as well as Sheep, equally as nice, Doctor is always a good bud to be with, Axeliira is pretty busy these days, but I love her all the same, there's also Anna and Alli, two really strong young ladies, Sora is also pretty cool, Klippy always has fantastic ideas for VG, love his dedication, and ummm Antemortem is a good pal too, always knows what to do, Zekrom has the same interests as I do, so he's great to speak with, but most importantly Peitharchia for being the best girl everrrr and an all around good person. :3

(b'-')b Good interview. I enjoy the personal questions as much as the PC-related ones because, especially for a mod partner, it helps me get to know my buddy Dragon more. :>
