Just over a year ago, I posted this to my blog about alternatives to the Competitive Battling standard that's dominating online Pokémon battling, which I dubbed 'Playground Battling'.
For those of you who can't be bothered to read it (you lazies :P), Playground Battling is essentially designed to be more like in-game battles, focussed on having fun battling with friends and your favourite Pokémon rather than focussing on statstics, breeding and strategies. Think of it as battling with an old Link Cable against your friends on the GBC - there were no EVs, IVs, strategies or tiers to think about, no were there any Level restrictions. The only categories were Legendary and non-Legendary.
If you want to know more, pleeease read the blog post. I go into so much more detail there.
ANYWAY - sometime after that post there seemed to be some interest, so Shining Raichu and I decided to set up a club dedicated to the Playground Battling standard. It set out the rules and principals behind it. Unfortunately, that was right before I went offline for ages, and that combined with other circumstances meant that the club never got off the ground.
But now - it's time for a grand relaunch! If you've ever wanted a different style of battling, tired of, dislike or don't enjoy the idea of competitive battling, then take a little look. ^^

We're not against the idea of Competitive Battling, we're not saying it shouldn't happen - we just want you to know that there is an alternative to it. :) And it is possible to do both at the same time.
