"That's A Wrap! is a new series in the Daily Bloggity which gives my personal opinions and ratings on movies that I have either backlogged or never had the chance to watch until now. Be wary in reading the entries as they may contain spoilers if you don't want the movie ruined for you if you haven't seen it. It's not exactly a review of the movie, but rather just things I like and don't like it about the movie. This will be a random series that will occur on days at 5PM Eastern Time."

When you hear the words "animated movie," what is the first thing that comes to mind? Toy Story? Aladdin? Maybe the newly released Kubo and The Two Strings? Nonetheless, at least for myself, I believe that the overarching theme of the animated movie franchise is that they are normally targeted towards children or families as that seems like the demographic that would be most successful with. Welp, Sausage Party tries to break the norm with it's raunchy comedy...and succeeds.

If you've ever seen a Seth Rogen movie like Pineapple Express, This Is The End, or Neighbors, then you'll have a pretty good idea as to the vulgarity and craziness Sausage Party would entail. In this movie, you'll find your vulgarity, stereotyping, and outright "WTF" moments that you would expect, all wrapped up nicely in an animated style that shines especially in the modern age of 2016 with today's technology.

That being said, the movie does have its shortcomings. The movie relies heavily on cliche corny food-based puns from the main antagonist, as well as some moments that won't make you laugh but rather cringe...hard. Depending on your perception of humor, the last 5 minutes of the movie will either make you laugh your ass off or make you wish the scene would just end already. Furthermore, on top of all of this, there will be stretches in the movie where you'll question where the humor lies and when the next funny scene will be. Essentially, there are pockets of humor being overloaded in a particular season, leading with a dry spell right afterwords.

Sausage Party truly pushes the limits with its humor and most definitely sets a new standard that leads to almost borderline offensiveness. However, Sausage Party does something new - which I very much appreciate - in being bold in making a R-rated animated movie which hopefully movie companies won't be afraid to make in the future. Nonetheless, there's one major lasting point that needs to be made: leave the kids at home, as you WILL NOT want them to see this movie, and prepare yourself for one hell of a ride with this movie.

Matt's Movie Rating: 6/10
