"Attacking the Backloggery" is a series in the Daily Bloggity where I take a closer look at video games that I have perfected and review them for others. By the term "perfected," this means that the game's achievements must all be obtained before I can make a review of it. As such, this is a series that will appear occasionally throughout the Daily Bloggity at 5PM ET."

As I'm writing this entry, I can't quit think of the exact genre that I would classify this game. When I played it, the first game that came to mind that closely resembled the style was the original Doom. To describe the game, I would classify it as a rogue-like dungeon crawler game where the goal is to collect a certain number of keys littered around the level while combatting certain creatures to inevitably face a boss to clear the floor. However, there isn't much more than that to the game: it's a very simplistic game that doesn't have a lot of depth or replayability.

Seeing that the indie game had a price point of only $2.99 on the Xbox One, I expected the game to be very simplistic and bad indie game, but I didn't expect the game to be as bad as it came out to be. With only 7 levels in all, each level is an exact replica in concept only reskinned to make the player feel like they are doing something different (spoiler, you aren't.) Besides one level, all of the "different" enemies have the exact same attack patterns and movements, creating a monotonous and tedious battle sequence that ultimately leave you with no satisfaction for the amount of time that needs to be put into the game. Personally, I've found the game as a disappointment.

21/21 achievements for 1000 GS

Achievement wise, the game is a cakewalk. There are 21 achievements in total – one for each level of the game that needs to be played on each difficulty – that can be easily achieved in less than 2 hours. Sadly, the achievements for different difficulties don't unlock if you do a playthrough on a harder difficulty (i.e. if you beat the game on normal, you don't get the achievements revolving around the easy difficulty), thus meaning three separate playthroughs are required. Thankfully, each level takes anywhere between 7-10 minutes, so as long as you don't stupidly die (as there are an excessive amount of health packs throughout the levels) it won't take too long to complete.

Ultimate conclusion: unless you are playing this game for some easy Gamerscore or achievements, avoid playing this game entirely. Even though it's priced at $3, it's not worth the money for this Internet Explorer Flash type game. If you would like to see gameplay for the game, visit this link here.

Final Rating: 2/10
