Need to get this off my chest. I find it hard to express my point of view on debate threads because it is not what the majority on here feel. I will get flamed because what I say is not the general consensus. It is like I am being bullied because of what I believe in. I especially feel this way when the moderators slam down ones point of view. But that is a debate and I should be able to withstand opposition and voice my opinions without reverence.

On another note, I like throwing out opposing opinions to generate discussion. You can not have a discussion with everyone playing the same tune.

PC has the problem with saying things that aren't nice. I've heard a few times it's better to keep quiet than say something that's not nice. I disagree with that. The true is that people get mad if you say something not matching their point of view, but what Sydian said is true also.

Look at your "flamy" posts and try to think how would you feel reading this. It can be helpful.

As long as you're not outwardly insulting someone, I don't see a problem. I tend to do the same thing and people dislike me for it, but I do not believe in bending my opinion for other people.

Everyone can get a little heated over controversial things. I hope if anyone's made you feel like you were being bullied you let them know and had a chance to talk it out.

But as for having trouble speaking your mind, well, it's just hard to do that when you're in the minority. You have to do your best to present yourself as best you can and hope people can see and respect that you want to have a discussion instead of an argument.

Sometimes it depends what the opinion is. If it's to do with something that varies greatly like what LeSabre mentioned about character preferences, people shouldn't bully you over that.

If your opinion is likely to offend someone or you worded it badly then some of the users here may become irritated, be it a moderator, administrator or just a regular user. That's just the way it is.

I believe in having your own opinion and saying what you want, but not all the time will other ppl believe the same thing you are saying, that's just the way it goes!!
