Day 0: The Crazy (Stupid) Diet

I DO NOT ADVOCATE OR PROMOTE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING
THERE ARE MUCH HEALTHIER WAYS TO LOSE WEIGHT
YOU'RE VERY SPECIAL AND IMPORTANT DO NOT DO THIS

So I had a discussion with a friend of mine about people's bodies after we watched The Machinist. This discussion mostly centered around Christain Bale's weight loss for the role and what it must've done to him and how hard it is. It was mentioned how some women starve themselves to have a perfect body to conform to society's standards and my friend admitted that she's not eaten before to try to lose weight. In order to sympathize with all those trying to lose weight in such crazy ways and to see what kind of challenges are posed by such a diet I proposed I would try it and she offered to join me in Christain Bale's diet which we're going to do for 1 week. To this effect I'm going to blog about the experience and give a day by day play by play.

We discussed the challenges and how one could maintain health while at the same time eating close to nothing and in the end we both decided that we wanted to try this diet for a week (we have tried many diets together with moderate to great success). After searching up all we could we found out that Christain Bale consumed black coffee, an apple, a can of tuna, and water. To put in perspective what the nutritional intake (according to US food labels) are I'll list the total intake:

CALORIES - 195
FAT - 0.86g
CHOLESTEROL - 30mg
SODIUM - 322mg
POTASSIUM - 417mg
CARBOHYDRATES - 32.28g
SUGAR - 22.03g
PROTEIN - 17.55g

All of these numbers are more or less far lower than you should have in 1 day however it is sustenance (the caloric intake alone is more than x10 less than an average healthy adult should have to maintain their weight). Additionally we will be monitoring our intake of various vitamins and other sources of essentials and replacing them with multivitamins and vitamin supplements. Additionally for his role in The Machinist Christain Bale made sure to keep himself active and busy and moving around a lot which will only make our bodies consume more calories (and fat).

In order to prevent myself and my friend as well from forming an eating disorder from this we have both told many of our friends so that way they can watch us and make sure we stop.

Here are the rules we've laid out for this week-long challenge:
  • Either of us can drop out at any time
  • We must not have any more or less than the foods he had in the proportions he had (apple is allowed to vary though)
  • No longer than 7 days
  • If either of us feel sick or unwell (other than hunger pangs) then stop immediately
  • Water is allowed also

I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow morning and then once more the morning after we finish. I will put my starting information on the first day blog post. The blog posts will come out likely sometime around 10:00pm-11:00pm EST.

Edit: Due to unforeseen circumstances this is gonna be put off until January 2nd.

oo good luck. I could never do anything like that. Drink lots of water too, you'll need it and it doesn't add any calories

Yeah we figured since water doesn't do anything nutritionally it'd be a good idea to make that "limitless"
