The Night I Discovered My Drinking Limit

Date: 07 March 2016
Time: 6:24 AM ET
Mood: It's go time.

I won't lie when I say I do like alcohol. Maybe not to the degree that other people may like it, but I'm one of those adventurers that enjoys swigging down a nice drink every now and then. Whether it's beer, whiskey, vodka, rum, wine, etc. etc., I've found much appreciation for what's out there, and with each year that passes I've been able to be lucky to broaden my taste buds to better - and stronger - drinks out there.

Spoiler:
However, it wasn't always like that. To be specific, I actually did not have an ounce of alcohol until I was 19. Looking back now, it seemed pretty trivial why I never did consume any. Because I grew up in a very conservative Christian household, I was....in lack of better terms, brainwashed through my upbringing that "alcohol equates to the devil" or something along those lines. However, that's a very silly thing to say. Alcohol can very much be an amazing thing to have, just as much as anything else, as long as you stick to moderating your alcohol consumption. That's really the key, which I'm sure most of you already know by now: moderation.

Daily Comic - "Math" by Bill Watterson of Calvin and Hobbes
Spoiler:
Well, as you can probably tell by the title of this blog entry, I obviously didn't know what my drinking limit was when I was younger. And looking back now, I actually did something incredibly stupid. Sophomore year of college I decided I really wanted to test what my limit was when it came to drinking. However, I misinterpreted the word "limit" and substituted it with "how much can I drink before I puke." One winter night - I want to say it was the winter, it's always cold up here in Boston haha - I went over my friend's house for a couple drinks. Long story short, I ended up consuming nine shots of vodka in the course of an hour. As you might expect, I ended up hunched over the toilet vomiting my brains out, and while I didn't exactly make the smartest decision, I did end up learings a lot about moderation thaat night (which thankfully I can say I haven't puked since then.

Daily Video - "Secret Life Of Pets Trailer" by Fresh Movie Trailers
Spoiler:
I do remember how I did have to have my friends basically carry me all the way across campus that night. It's crazy how alochol can impair your ability to such an extent as it did to me that night but hey, you live and learn. Moral of the story: don't be me, drink responsibly. What about you guys? What is your drinking limit like? Or rather, what was the most ammountof drinks you had at a given time? Drink of choice? Comment below as I'd love to hear and discuss with you what you have to say about this topic!

Just about everyone who likes to drink has something like that happen at some point.

....I think so anyway. I just remember the one time I drank too much for me.

I would experiment more with different and stronger alcohol types, but since I still live with my parents I'm not about to go out and buy some hard liquor on a remotely regular basis. Cuz I'm certain they'd think I've become an alcoholic.

You can always hide it from them so they'll never expect it (;
