This week, Ash faces Gardenia for his second Badge!

The major changes here were cutting out Team Rocket (as per the competition rule) and shaking up Ash's team. Diddy replaced Turtwig (as per the starter shuffle), and he got Buizel to begin with, as Aipom was cut so Dawn could get a Mega Evolve-able Pokemon.

This episode was very easy to switch over to full Team Galactic (although Team Rocket is acknowledged at the end), since this is the point where you would first find Galactic in the games. The biggest change in this episode was Buizel's swap--since Ash gets the Buizel to begin with, it was fairly easy to swap the focus from Dawn to Ash.

The big change in this episode was having Ash get the Buizel to start with, since Ash no longer has Aipom. Since Aipom is cut (allowing Dawn to get a Mega Evolve-able Pokemon later), Dawn has no reason to catch or trade the Buizel.
