3 things I’ve learned as I’ve grown older

Warning: this is a serious blog post, and is a little mature. If you are a younger user, discretion is advised.

I have not been having that good of a break, a person I went to high school with passed away recently and I have a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach as I've learned another one passed away today as well. I don't really know what happened, but it's hard to believe that someone you've talked and laughed with is no longer here. I haven't seen the person in about two years now, but just remembering him and seeing his smiling face makes me sad.

I'm not writing this post to be a condescending douchebag, and I honestly don't really care if you take anything away from this. These are just my thoughts, as an 18 year old kid, on what I've learned as I've gotten older. This is what I think of life, and I'm sure that my worldview will probably change in the next few years as well. Who knows what the future holds; we can only expect good and bad things to happen to us in life. Anyways, enough of the philosophical ******** let's get to the point. Here are 3 things I've learned as I've gotten older:

1.) Be humble. You are no greater than anyone; we are all human and we were born with nothing and will die with nothing. We subconsciously judge people that we see that are lower class than us but we don't know how their lives are. The same goes for here; it doesn't matter if you are a red, blue, gray, purple or whatever username; we are all equal. If you are a normal member and want to get on the Staff then you have the same opportunity as anyone else has, and that anyone before you ever had.

2.) Be considerate of others, and above all make friends. No one was meant to go through life alone; you may be able to think of a time when you were lonely. I remember a time when I felt like I was the loneliest person in the world. It is always better to have a shoulder to cry on, as well as someone to celebrate with when good things come your way.

3.) Do what makes you happy. To me, happiness is the most important thing in this life. There will be times in life where we will not be happy, but being happy should be the ultimate goal.

Of course there are a lot more things I've learned but I really only feel like sharing these. I don't know a lot about anything frankly, but this **** comes from the heart. Obviously, they are just my opinions and not everyone will agree with them which is okay with me. Hopefully I wake up tomorrow, and feel better but I'll probably have this sadness for the next few days. Life truly is a blessing every day, and we shouldn't take it for granted. I hope everyone finds solace and has a good year of 2016.
