Ah, nostalgia. You're like that magical mirror from Futurama that makes everything appear sexy. Except that this time, it looks the same in a normal mirror. I mean, you can see from this episode why the anime really did so well. I'm a big defender of the new series, but I guess rewatching this has reminded me that they have a point - this is, undoubtedly, the best episode of the whole anime.

Now, that's a big, sweeping statement to make so early on. But I cannot think of one single other episode with a moment quite as awesome as the climax of this episode. Anyway, below is a list of random thoughts that came to me while I was watching, my Extensive List Of Thoughts. I can assure you there will be one for each episode, if you want to watch along too.
