The 2DS isn't so bad.

Sure, it looks outlandish, but it's easy to hold (at least, for me) and is considerably cheaper than the 3DS/XL, and really, all you lose is a feature that I don't think anyone uses anyway...at least, from what I know. xp

Anyway, the reason I'm discussing the 2DS is because it was the gift I got for my birthday - along with Pokemon X and some silly Nintendo DS game that I'm considering returning for discounts and stuff. It's been a blast so far, unfortunately I already finished Pokemon X, so I'm just breeding random stuff I get.

It feels really good to be able to catch up to everyone else in game progression, really...and I thought I'd be stuck at Generation IV forever. If only I could translate these feelings into words or something, but I suck with that sort of thing. o3o

yaaaaay!! Finally. :3 Also, if I didn't already have a 3DS I would definitely buy a 2DS! Never use the 3D feature; makes my head hurt.

Glad you're liking it! And the 2DS I wouldn't mind, if you could only fold it, which unfortunately you can't. x_x
That's basically the only problem I have with it...that was pretty much why I loved my old DS Lite, it was really portable...I look weird carrying around my 2DS in its carry case lol I'd prefer to fold it.

I was torn between them when X/Y came out ;-; I did eventually go with the 3DS though because of the same reasons you guys mentions XD.

I never play with 3D on though ;-;.

Yeah, I agree. I mean, it's a nice budget device, but it'd be a lot more portable (and safe) if it could fold.

My 2DS has come out from the spills it's taken in better shape than any of my clamshell handhelds ever have. It's quite sturdy for a handheld.

Finally, someone agrees with me! The 3Ds was really only cool because of the new joystick and upgraded hardware, not because of the 3D. I think Nintendo listened to the fans (which we said we didnt need the 3D), and made a project that generally made sense. I dont know why its considered "outlandish" by people, its a perfectly fine device thats better alternative to the 3DS because who uses 3D anyways, and it gives me a headache.

I don't mind the 2DS except that taking it with you seems a bit tedious since you can't close it, idk. I do like the design and want to actually hold one to see how it feels in my hand! Not sure when that'll happen. /snatches and runs off with yours 8D
