Towards the Heart

Sorry for taking so long for this entry, some of you are eager for it, and it's really long. I know I slipped up the past entry with so little pictures, so this time I made sure to flood them. Whether you all like that... well, post, tell me what you'd like to see. More pictures? More content? Etc. Also, if you're following this journey, and would like to be notified when a new entry is posted, comment here wishing to be added to the Journey List, and I'll send you a message every time I finish an entry. And if you're reading, drop by a comment, it's great to hear from you guys. And as I regurgitate, read at your own risk. This may contain spoilers and I'm not reliable for any eggs rotting on your head. :V Oh, and I try to format on my current theme (Azure Fantasy) and it may look bad on others, my apologies.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

So we barely beat Gardenia and got the Forest Badge. Now what? Well, before we continue lets review the PokéDex. I've seen 43, caught 9. As you can see, I'm not one for "gotta catch 'em all" After Gardenia, I healed at the Pokemon Center. It was then time to locate a Pocket Monster to use Cut. I have Budew, so I could just use that. I went switched Zet (Buizel) out of the party and brought out Cowre. (Budew) After that, I go to a Galactic base north of the Pokémon Center. And by the way, it's completely redesigned. I cut the trees in the way and head inside, right away a Team Galactic member approaches me, oddly enough, it was Handsome, the detective dressed up! He said some stuff, and I headed for the stairs, quickly meeting a double battle. Budew gets a level to 11 and we head upstairs, another battle. Again, Cowre levels to 12, and Deano reaches level 22. After defeating his Croagunk, there was an item in the room. I head for the PokéBall and receive... well, I think it was a shard? Frankly, I have no clue what items I'm picking up. And again, this place is like a maze, multiple floors, and Team Galactic members. I go back downstairs and go to the other staircase going up. Second floor, loads of galactic members, some at the computer.

After battling a bunch of Grunts, we see Commander Jupiter. (As you see in the shot) And first thing I notice other than her, look at the pretty stars. :O She had stolen some Pocket Monsters from someone. (Who would later be found out to be the Bike Seller!) With majority of the my Party weakened, we took her on. She opened up with a Lv 21 Zubat, I switch out Beduw to Mork, who takes it down quickly. Then she sends out the stinky Lv 23 Skuntank. And holy Arceus, what's up with that sprite. XD! It's... well, you know. Now, I thought this thing would be relatively easy to take down, but it wasn't with all the work involved. o_o; So again, played around with the defensive corner. With Luxio and Gyarados' intimidate, along with Onix's defense, we have a switch fest. :D Lowering it's attack stage by stage. Absorbing the weakened hits, I switch to Nica (Onix) and start screeching Skuntank's defense down harshly. After that I switch to Deano who downs it with Spark. Another major battle, another Galactic Commander down. With that done, Galactic flees the base and the Bike Owner takes the Pocket Monsters to safety. So that's that. Another city saved and now we have some exploring and training to do. As the levels are clearly not up to par, some are just AT the level rate, and that won't be pretty down the road. After some training getting the team up some levels I make my way over the Bike Shop.

So, heading over there hoping for that bike, and for the second time in Eterna City, Cynthia appears! And if I remember Diamond correctly, she didn't stop me from entering the Bike Shop in DP. So, what's up with that? And here's the first real "Snap, I'm stuck! D:" in Platinum, I've been fine up to this point, but I'm actually stuck. She won't let me enter the Bike shop and obviously she's giving me a yes or no question. So, I thought of all the Yes or No possibilities, and thought "Hey, maybe has an egg?" I go to the PC take out Budew. And sure enough, I go back to Cynthia and wham! She gives me an egg! Could this possibly be the Happiny from Hearthome, just... early? Either way, we got an egg, and I have a love for baby Pocket Monsters. So, head into the Bike Shop, and we finally get a Bike! :D After that I head over to
the house next to the Pokémon Center and pick up Explorer Kit. I'm not a huge fan of the underground Sinnoh anyway, just getting it to go to Cycling Road.

So, another new addition to the series was that Platinum divides the road. As you see in the picture. Cycling Road was not fun on the team members though, bunch of endeavor Starly and Staravia. But Nica and Deano had some fun with it to say the least. XD After battling a bunch of them, raising the levels of Onix and Luxio. At this point, I think I have a general idea of who's not holding up. Obviously Nica, Deano and Mork are the top three party members. (Onix, Luxio and Gyarados) Anti the Piplup from not evolving isn't exactly carrying weight, and T.S the Ponyta doesn't have much to fight against since after Gardenia, everything is Geodude and Onix it seems. So I dropped Anti, my starter is no longer with the team and dropped him off at the Oreburgh
Pokémon Center. First time I haven't needed my starter. :x So something I remember regretting on my Diamond journey, was not catching a Gible. As it's one of my favorite Pocket Monsters, even if Garchomp is banned in competitive play, but I can use it ingame, muhahahaha. [/lame]

Now under Cycling Road, there's a cave. And in that cave is the ever-awesome Gible. So, I go back to the PC, heal & grab Budew to cut the trees in the way. So, I walking to the trees to cut and all of a sudden, my egg hatches! And just like Gold/Silver/Crystal, it's a Togepi! That's an awesome surprise, I'm so glad they added Togepi! 8D Well, it's a male, so I named it Hide. Named after my good friend Hiidoran. Well, this sweet, and I'd love to have a Togetic on the team, so I'm definitely keeping it. I put it as the lead to train it from level one and make my way to Wayward Cave, directly under Cycling Road. I want that Gible. After lurking around I finally get in there, and wow, one thing I found that's the exact same as DP is... Bronzor is soooo annoying. Sure I have Ponyta, but even then Ember/Flame Wheel didn't do much. :/ Hypnosis and the bunch just weakened my team little by little, I felt like leaving after such a long time. But eventually, I found a Gible! But it was female, and I want a male Gible because the scar looks cooler. >:O And again, after a while, I found a male Gible! 8D And caught it on the second try.

I named it Andy, after our mean administrator, Arcanine. I probably won't be able to get an Arcanine in this game, and he acts more like a pirate shark when someone insults his Coke, so yeah. :D So, now that I captured Gible, I head out and in a battle against a Mountaineer, I noticed the Geodude are all "NUKE THE DUDE" :| Thank Arceus I have a defensive core. Mork, Deano and Nica absorbing selfdestructs like no tomorrow. XD So we're making our way out when I get in a wild battle, I'm like "Snapple, another Geodude! D:" And it was a Gligar! I was all "HOMG, GLIGAR! :F" I simply had to get it. So, I weaken it with Mork's tackle, haha. And started throwing
PokéBalls like never before. Pops out. Throw another, pops out. This was the theme for a while. And finally, with two left, I throw my second one left and catch it. I named it Went. :D I go to the Center in Oreburgh and change my team before I took on the trainers before Route 207, East towards Hearthome.
