In other words, I'm trying to give this blog the semblance of being active, even if I'm posting stuff that only I care about lol.

1. Quality Suites, Pineville, NC - Spacious suites, new renovations, above average breakfast, recently announced Gold Award winner. I've stayed there close to 15 times, and will continue to be a loyal guest. 5/5.

2. Quality Inn & Suites, Mt. Pleasant, SC - My preferred hotel for my annual trips to Charleston. Getting a bit long in the tooth, but great location and breakfast. I've only stayed in their suites, and they're quite comfortable and spacious. Supposedly being renovated this year, hope they're done by my next stay in October. 5/5.

3. Quality Inn & Suites, Greensboro (Airport), NC - Older but well kept facility with a nice lobby and unique atrium with indoor pool. Breakfast needs more meat/protein. 5/5.

4. Quality Inn & Suites, Santee, SC - Old bathrooms, otherwise nice renovations to the rooms. Has attractive exterior decor and a pretty good restaurant/bar on site. Nice staff, especially in the restaurant. Freshly cooked breakfast from the restaurant and not a continental buffet. 4/5.

5. Quality Inn, Colchester/Burlington, VT - Smaller than usual rooms, carpets need replacing, otherwise a pretty nice hotel. 4/5.

6. Quality Inn, Rochester, NY - Dear God, what the hell happened to this place? Five years ago it was pretty good. Last December I was met with a crumbling facade, burned out signs, a disgusting bathtub, damaged lampshades and toilet tank cover, non-functioning drains, ragged carpet, food under the ottoman, and furniture straight out of the 1970's. At least it was only $59/night. 2/5.

What's the worst one you've ever been to? Just curious!

Also curious.. do you travel for work or for holiday?

As far as Quality Inns, probably that one in Rochester, NY. There was a beat-to-hell one I stayed at back in 2006, but even that one didn't have a damaged toilet cover or stray food under furniture.

Worst hotel ever was probably what was at the time a Red Carpet Inn in Harrisonburg, VA (I don't know what it is now or even if it's been knocked down or not). That was back in the 1990's but I remember stains and flies buzzing around everywhere, inside and outside the room.

As for travel, most of these stays are vacations or weekend getaways. For business (and anime conventions) I usually stay at Hilton family hotels since they're closer to where I need to be. They're not as interesting to talk about since Hiltons, Hamptons, Embassy Suites, etc. are pretty much uniformly good.
