Thanks again to Aslan for the tag :P

1)What is your name (first, whole, doesn't matter)? If you're uncomfortable disclosing your name, then tell us where your username came from.

My real name is John. I used to be known as BlahISuck but nobody liked that name so now I'm Kanzler.

2) How did you find the Pokecommunity, and why did you join?

Shinygold. I tried to get into rom hacking but that fizzled out and I ended up just modifying Pokemon stats to make them more useable (Pikachu in FireRed/LeafGreen, for example).

Then I found Discussions and Debates and the rest is history. I'm not terribly active now, but I've made my share of friends and I enjoy their company even if we don't talk all the time like we used to.

3)What is your current stance on Pokemon, the franchise? Are you still in love with it, or is it something that you consider part of your childhood?

I'm still involved with Pokemon, but sadly I have to admit that it's lost a bit of its mystique. I'm old enough to have been around when the first generation came out, and five generations and many sidegames later I don't seem to get the feeling of exploring "a whole new world" anymore. I've played and replayed up to the third generation to death and part of my childhood dies a little every time I do that.

I think getting my feet wet into hacking took away some of the charm when it became explicitly clear that the world of Pokemon is no more than ones and zeroes (or perhaps 00s to FFs). There weren't any secret locations and battling just boiled down to a numbers game.

Overall, I'm always eager to experience Game Freak's latest spin on a tried-and-true title. Although it might not be the escape into fantasy like it once was in my childhood, it's still pretty darn fun and there's always something new to experience with each release.

4)If you could meet one person from PC in real life, who would that be? Name others if you want, but who is the main person?

Megan aka. Denny Hamlin, unless I'm once again not up to speed with the name changes >>. I actually have to wonder if she'd be as nice as she is in person as I think she is over the internets because she's astonishingly nice. We were paired around this time last year, but a lot's changed for us since, so it'll be cool to meet up and catch up and have fun and stuff.

Geoff as well because we have unfinished business.

I also want to meet up with Ozymandias and Mark and Liljz cuz we go back a long time. And Dipu who's actually pretty close to home.

Also Omicron cuz we almost actually met. I'm sure there's more and make no mistake that I probably forgot about you but no worries cuz you're all important despite my ability to remember how important you are :D

5)Tell us a little bit about yourself. Not too much, but enough to let us know you a little more. Afterall, that's the point of this!

I'm a student in my last year of university so I'll likely graduate next year. I don't have many friends so I don't get out of the house too much. I find it kind of interesting that often people ask for advice on how friends and stuff cuz you honestly don't have to be a social butterfly bouncing off the walls making friends everywhere. I think there's a big pressure in society (at least maybe just American society) to be extroverted and acquire people with whom you interact socially but that's really going off topic.

I'm really interested in issues of politics (but not domestic, more so things of the foreign policy sort) so I'll be contributing in D&D from time to time. I think it's nice that we have a mix of people with interests in international relations as well as economics, science, and philosophy as well as the dreaded (imo) issues of domestic US politics (ugh). I really encourage you folks in PC to check out D&D cuz I think discussion makes the world go round and it's the action of discussion that's so much more important than any (dis)agreement we might have with one another.

I'd say more but I won't because I need material to talk about myself elsewhere :P

6) And lastly, which two people are you going to tag?

Morkula und Limerent. gogogo
