It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Dark Souls. I absolutely love the series. So far, I've beaten Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3 three times and am currently working on the first Dark Souls (the original game is extremely hard, by the way.) I absolutely love the lore ingrained with this game and have spent countless hours watching videos on the minute and fine detail of the game and how they are perceived within the world.

Spoiler:
That being said, I'm also a video game perfectionist. I very much enjoy trying to get all of the achievements of a game, and at the point in which I'm writing this entry I've perfected 46 games thus far. It's a fun little hobby that I have, but when it comes to the achievements of Dark Souls 3, they are especially tedious. For some of the achievements, like collecting all of the rings in the game, it requires three playthroughs of the game and constant enemy farmings and intense PvP invasions in order to get all the rings.

Spoiler:
Currently, I'm sitting at three achievements left in the game to get in order to perfect it: getting a certain ending in the game (which I did actually do already but the game glitched on me and didn't give me the achievement,) acquiring all 107 rings in the game, and getting every achievement in the game (which will unlock once you've gotten all the other achievements besides this one.) I've plugged in probably over 120 hours into the game in order to get all these achievements. A few days ago, I ended up completing the third playthrough of the game in order to get the NG +2/+3 rings and once I collected all of them…the achievement didn't pop. I was stunned. All that work for absolutely nothing. What came next, however, was much worse than anything I could have imagined.

Spoiler:
I did some research and saw that some people had a similar issue, but when they dropped their rings and picked them up the achievement popped. So, I did just that. I dropped all 107 rings and went to pick them up when suddenly I realized there's a despawn timer. I ended up losing 90-100 of my rings which felt like a direct stab to the gut. Thankfully, I can go through on NG+4 and get all of the rings again as previous journey rings will respawn and carry over the next journey. I have to go through another playthrough anyways because of the other achievement glitching, but that's another 8-10 hours that I really do not want to put into a game that I've beaten three times already and had the credentials to get the achievement already.

So that's that. TIFU by destroying over 120 hours of progress in one fell swoop. What about you guys? Have you ever had as big of a videogame blunder as this one? Comment below as I'd love to hear and discuss with you what you have to say about this topic!
