This week, the group stumbles upon the Pokemon Mansion, where they befriend Monica, a servant for famed director, producer, and explorer Mr. Backlot, as well as a very hungry Swinub.
The big change for this episode is that Dawn doesn't get the Swinub in the remix--the Swinub no longer made sense in the story I wanted to tell. However, there still is an important Pokemon event that happens in this episode--Satomi evolves into Kirlia.
Since Dawn doesn't get the Swinub anymore, I decided to refocus the episode onto worldbuilding, and expand on what we see of the Pokemon Mansion and the Trophy Garden in the games. Dawn's profile of Mr. Backlot at the start is new for the story. It helps to give a reason why Ash and co. might be going there.
The evil team is swapped out--this was one of those episodes that translated very nicely from Team Rocket to Team Galactic.
Ash does mention Misty and his (by this point) Azumarill River (who evolves in Sapphire Sky) when he sees the Azurill. Unlike the real show, Misty does make a few cameos, and even gets her own mini arc (the Pokethlon storyline)
Fizzo is the Pokeworld counterpart of Coke, Pepsi, or any other cola.
Brock offers to perform (which will take place in an interlude) because we are coming up on a Fantasy Stage in Hearthome, so I felt the mansion would be a good space for him to train.
Next time, Satomi evolves to Kirlia, and uses her new power to drive the admins out of the Trophy Garden!
