I'm done with Competitive Battling.

You see, I rolled on in to GameFAQS, had a few battles today, got my first win, feeling pretty happy about myself.

I go to this one topic, this guy was up for a battle. I took him on.

Fastforward to the end of the match, I predicted his Jirachi would switch out, so my Ferrothorn used Power Whip, and KO'ed his SubSwampert.

The freaking ******* DCed on me.

I wouldn't have been so bummed out if he told me he's a noob like me, in which I would understand, but no.

He said Ferrothorn was sooo broken, had too many resistances, should be Uber, blah blah blah. Look kid. I don't make the rules I follow them. If Smogon says it's not banned (it's not...right?), it's not, unlike our friendly neighborhood Garchomp.

Well, whatever. Hope you're happy, cause I'm just done. If a freaking plant gets on your nerves cause you can't counter it in the rain, too bad, so sad.

You'll never see me battling ever again.


And now, for my Masuda update: Shiny Mienfoo is reaching 200 eggs. I really hope I don't end up like Syd.

Awwww. You shouldn't let one battle get you down like that. That person is simply immature, and has to find something to blame. Of course he's going to blame your Ferrothorn (though I have heard it's broken. What do I know about competitive battling. xD;).

... Bleh. I fail at trying to make people feel better/remotivate them, but yeah, don't give up. :)

Why would you switch in Swampert of all things into Ferrothorn anyway? I will say that Ferrothorn is pretty metagame breaking though, what with it being most used on Smogon's PO servers. It is easy enough to take care of most of the time like Garchomp. But, if you're going to quit because of 1 sore loser, than so be it.

Ferrothorn has counters, that's why it's not considered broken. Sure it's really defensive, but with a huge weakness to Fire and Fighting moves, it's decent enough to handle.

But yeah, it sucks that because of one noob not being able to handle something that you have to stop. You get those people who will DC if they can't win. They're sore losers and are everywhere with every game.

He had two Pokemon left, Swampert and Jirachi, So there wasn't much I could do before hand.

I'm just really frazzled by this...I mean...I've never had someone do that before, barring Random Wi-Fi. I've battled against say oh 14 people before this guy, and they're all really friendly.

So when he Dced, I was just dumbfounded. Like...you can't be serious.

Maybe I won't wuit all together...though I won't be seen battling much.

If you play competitive at least on Wifi long enough you realize people do that. Just put them on a dc black list if Gamefaqs allows it. I mean you are battlings on Gamefaqs after all. Last time I was on their boards for Trading it is just a mess of Noobs. Used to be great back in 07 & 08 but now they are horrible there. I would suggest battling else where and not let a couple dcs phase you.

You should have countered his argument by saying "Swampert lost its usefulness after Platinum was introduced." :< Also, Ferrothorn is far from broken. Just because it walls a lot of things doesn't make it broken, since any fire move will wreck it.

Also, if you want, the new Competitive Battling Center is starting to pick up and we'd love to have another member over there, especially since you seem to already know quite a bit about competitive battling! :] I've personally never been a fan of the GameFAQs forums because the people in them are quite rude. We'd love to see you in CBC though. :D
