This week, Kamon causes some trouble, but in all the chaos, Brock is devastated when he sees Temacu has feelings for someone else.

This was another episode that worked very nicely with Team Rocket removed and replaced with Kamon. Since Kamon never struck me as the romantic type, this led to some humorous reactions on his part when Temacu went gaga for him.

The actual heartbreak for Brock, I saved for the end, when he actually sees Temacu confess her feelings to the doctor at the end, rather than have it be caused by having Temacu fall for Kamon, and aggravated by her confession to the doctor. This is why Brock reacts to Temacu falling for Kamon with surprise--up until now, he has never seen Kamon as a romantic.

There were a few minor deletions to tighten up the episode, such as Kamon (replacing Team Rocket) trying to make off with the Poke Balls in the house (as his first attempt at stealing the Pokemon was stopped by the group earlier, so unlike Team Rocket, he would know better than to retry a tactic that did not work the first time--he only retries the net again and again because it has actually worked a few times.

The original ending gave me the impression that Misty was brushing off Brock's feelings, so for the remix, I had her (plus Ash and the Pokemon) console Brock in a more realistic manner--acknowledge how Brock feels, listen if he needs to vent, give him alone time if he needs it, remind him of his good qualities, and give him support.

In the original draft of this episode, Brock was originally going to sing a folk song, but the Vocaloid song "Star Story" sounded more appropriate based on what I wanted to have happen at the end (he sees a shooting star while singing to the stars.)

Next time, the gang reunites with Ethan and Lyra, where Lyra gets into an epic adventure with Hana!
