And back to this again. Yay for on-again-off-again schedule of blog. ~

But first - for the heck of it I think in a few songs time I might try a theme thing. A few entries (or many if I have a lot) where part of the song has a cool guitar solo. So if you know any that you want to share, mention it in a comment! It can be short or long or even the whole song - as long as it sounds good I'll consider it. I won't do every song I know/find out about that has one as that'd be lasting forever though. And some songs already featured I would have nominated, but oh well! =p

Anyways! The Doors (which happen to have a few neat solos themselves) is the band today, but the song is a bit outside the norm for what they are known for. It's fairly chill in fact and lacking in any of the heavier guitar parts they tend to have, but this one of my favourites of theirs nonetheless. Quiet can be good at times.

Spoiler:

Kinda mysterious with the lyrics in there. I've seen a number of different interpretations of what they are actually singing about, as well as attempts to reason why someone would 'drown themselves in mystic heated wine'. Luckily the band wanted it to be that way, so I suppose it was a success! I feel it's likely about death/suicide though, most likely. Yet the song is quite relaxing which is an interesting way to portray such a subject, bar the last chorus refrain which just sounds somewhat more dark with the way it is sung. It's small things like that that makes me really like it.

The Doors were rather interesting actually, I felt; they had a lot of songs made up, a number experimental in their own little ways. Lyrics were typically poetic and it's a shame that the lead (Morrison) died and cut the band short. =( No doubt a controversial band though (just wiki it if you don't know of any incidents). I'd likely have a few more songs of theirs at least later on I bet.

Next entry!

The 'drown themselves in mystic heated wine' line makes me think either alcoholism or hell. But yeah, I too believe it's likely a death/suicide song (and I think The Doors has a few of those if I'm not mistaken). I do enjoy the band's music at least, haha.

I kind of like how unpredictable this song is. Yet it still has a good melody. Nice find.

Also, ignore how far behind I am on your blog. I'm subscribed, but it never tells me when you update it oddly. =P
