A Happy Blog (rant)

Posted January 13th, 2010 at 7:46 PM by Chibi-chan

Am I the only person out there that doesn't have some messed up past, tortured life, or in a tailspin towards destruction? I feel like sometimes I'm the only person out there whose parents aren't divorced, had a happy high school life, is doing good in school, and has great friends. When I hear stories where people don't, it's depressing. I get depressed hearing them. It makes me just feel....terrible. Maybe I'm too sensitive. I feel like I shouldn't be on the internet because it's where the people who are going through something go. Like, I meet this happy girl on the internet. It's all nice until she tells me she was kicked out at 17 and her parents moved to another state. What the hell man. Why am I on the internet to begin with? I don't want to sound 'holier than thou', but I seem to have the only non f'd up life on the internet and am rather happy. Please prove me wrong.

    Take that life as a blessing. That's really all I have to say.

    I do. I'm truly grateful for my life and everything about it. I overkill myself because I want to make the best I can out of it. I mean, sometimes I just feel like crying over some of the things I hear about over the internet...it pains me I can't do anything about them either. Listening only hurts. It just feels like you can't win against any of this.

    Well hey, that's great you don't have issues, I'm really happy for you. <3

    But not all of the internet is a depressing place, I guess it's easier for people to express their sadness and grief so a lot of people tend to take their problems out online. I don't have any issues about my background and I'm pretty much happy most of the time. XD A lot of people should focus on the brighter side of life, it makes everything much more better.

    People with issues tend to be very, VERY vocal in expressing them. That's why it seems like it's next to impossible to find well-adjusted people out there, but you're obviously not the only one.

    Yeah, a lot of people with crappy lives use the internet as an escape of sorts, but that's not what it's for. :/ Don't feel bad, you're most certainly not the only 'happy with life' person online. xD

    Even when I was younger, and my life was unicorns and butterflies I still choose to be online at times - because it's funnnn.

    So yeah.. I second Zet. The internet is better with you on it, although I'am happy to know that you don't have a hard life. >w<

    The internet makes us all happier.

    But I know what you mean, Chibi. The worst I've gone through was having few-to-none irl friends for a while, but my parents don't have any problems, I think my school life was okay and I've made quite a number of awesome friends over the years. So yeah, I agree with Jack- people with problems are more likely to voice them, while the others will just... do what they were supposed to do in the first place, like us.

    So don't feel alone in this! :3

    Consider that a lot of people are more comfortable being open about themselves online, where they don't have to look people in the eye when they talk to them. It isn't so much that people who "populate" the Internet have more problems, it's just that they're able to share their problems more easily than the people you know in person.

    I am so glad your life is good. My life is good as well. I got a good job and I am well liked in my community. I just go online to get away from the stressful life I have. Probably your life isn't as stressful as mine.

    I sometimes feel like I'm the only normal person I know - but then I guess everyone probably thinks that. xD;

    I'm pretty happy with my life, even if my parents are divorced. My father was a complete bastard anyway, so we're better off, and it all happened over ten years ago. I don't use the Internet to get away with it all - I just see it as a communication medium that promotes anonymity. That's why people can be so open, and why 99% of people seem to have a sob story.
