This blog won't be very long. I obviously haven't posted many of these. Yeah, school can be a pain when you have a lot of homework and not a lot of energy.
Anyway, I originally thought that the second iteration of Stage 3 (to use Smogon's wording) would just be Manaphy and the already-OU Latias...and that's how it was going to be. But now Garchomp is being added into the test according to Jumpman, I would assume due to the close 44-41 vote in favor of it being Uber.
But I am excited for this! I'll actually being playing on the suspect ladder and, if school doesn't interfere again, I'll hopefully be able to make the voting requirement. D_A and I have already made a team (lol), and I really am super excited. Manaphy sounds like fun, but more than anything else I want to abuse Garchomp, which I never used back when it was allowed because it never supported a Mismagius sweep well enough I guess lol.
But I'm wondering, for those who played on the suspect ladder, what you thought of Garchomp. A lot has changed since the tl;dr slugfest OU vs. Uber debates. Was it consierably more or less effective with Shaymin-S and Latios around? And now that they're gone, will it "show its true colors" or anything like that? I'm very curious because this is hugely important!
I think more important than ever now is that we actually have a definition of Uber that doesn't suck. Since "OMG OVERCENTRALIZATION" is totally bogus and impossible to quantify and way too subjective and incredibly silly...yeah, it sucks...we finally have a legit definition of Uber to test Garchomp with. Since the vote was so close, I'm looking forward to seeing if my OU argument still holds up after all of these changes.
Lastly, for those of you who have been keeping up with Smogon's policy review threads, what do you guys think about how it's being handled? I won't give my opinion on that, I want to hear from you =p
