It's weird thinking that I'm already in month four of my six month co op. It's been an absolute blur thus far. Days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months, and thankfully there isn't anymore snow on the ground. Nonetheless, it has been an absolutely wonderful experience thus far. I've been able to garner so much information and knowledge that will hopefully translate into my educating down the road, and has also helped me refine or narrow my grade selection to teach down to Kindergarten and 1st Grade.

Spoiler:
I digress. What I really wanted to talk about was something really...bizarre I guess is the right word to use in this instance. At the school in which I work at, I am moreover known as 'Mr. C,' mainly because my last name is very difficult to pronounce so I wanted to make it as easy as possible for them to remember (especially for the younger students.) Still, you'd be surprised how much air is in some of these student's heads, as even after four months there are students who for the life of them can't remember my name (even though I've been working with them one on one for awhile now...) It's annoying at times, but it's not something that you can really do anything about. I think it says something about the student(s) more than anything.

Spoiler:
Anyways, so that's what the students call me. Going off of that, I normally wear a hat when I go to work. I'm more of a 'hat person' as even on bad days I can cover up my gorgeous locks from my peers. One day though I forgot to bring my hat - or more over just was too lazy to find it the night before - so it was the first time that the students saw me going all Fabio with my hair. Now I don't know why this specific student saw this but they took one look at my hair - which this Kindergartner thought was spiked in someway which it really isn't - and there and then dubbed me 'Mr. Hedgehog.' From that day on out, whenever I see this student, they've been referring me as 'Mr. Hedgehog,' which is funny but also just irritates me a bit. No matter how many times I try to get the student to call me by the name I want to be called, they'll have a tendency of listening to me and then reverting back to their old ways. As I said, it's just frustrating at times mainly because other students have started to pick up on it.

Spoiler:
Nonetheless, I've very much enjoyed my time at the school I've been working at. Each day I learn a little bit something new so it's been a pretty enlightening experience to say the least. Still, it's a nickname that although funny at first can get on your nerves from time to time, especially if you are trying to be serious with some students. What about you guys? Have you ever gotten a nickname from someone? What did you think of it? Comment below as I'd love to hear and discuss with you what you have to say about this subject!

Welcome to the wonderful world of children, Matt.

What about you guys? Have you ever gotten a nickname from someone?
Besides my username no one has ever called me by a name other than my name as far as I remember.

But that's beside the point. I came here to say that I'm definitely calling you Mr Hedgehog from now on.
