This week, Team Rocket gets an explosive sendoff when they try to take Ash's Badges and Misty's medals!
In my imagined Pokeworld, I've always believed each region has a "national anthem" in a way, that is sung before the League and major competitions. While I have referred to the Kanto one ("Red, Blue, and Yellow Bold"), this was the perfect opportunity to write out some of the Johto anthem, "Golden Hearts and Silver Souls". You'll be hearing the rest of what is commonly sung when Ash and the gang reach the League in a few episodes.
If you're curious, this is the song's basic tune: Golden Hearts and Silver Souls
Originally, it was only Ash lamenting his badges, but now that Misty and Brock have something to do, Misty joins in with Ash (but Brock rattles his off just because.)
When Team Rocket is trying to interpret Sahana's drawing of the Wynaut, I thought it would be funny if Meowth misinterpreted it as a game of "Win, Lose, or Draw", setting up a distraction for Mina and River to find it.
It was only fitting that Team Rocket get their final blast-off for a good long while (at least until we come back to Kanto) via Brock shooting them down.
Next time, Misty earns her final Pokethlon medal!
